These hyper effective techniques have been sought out by the likes of Virgin, Google, the United States Air Force, Nike, Zappos, Marriott, NBA, SpaceX, 21st Century Fox, Harvard, and Singularity University. Mr. Jim Quick is in this house. I always get super embarrassed uh by that that video intro the team has, but I'm so glad to see everybody. Um, I have YouTube opened. Uh, Camille, good to see you from Jupiter. Um, Germany. Ciao. Ricardo, please put in in the chat where where you're coming in from. From New York City right now. And uh, can we
1:32 spotlight uh myself? Uh, and just kind of control that. And Alexa, so people could see see well. Or am I spotlighted? Yes. Or Fay. Okay. Um, I want to thank you for taking um time out of your your schedules. I know I know you're busy and I I promise you, Alexis, what Alexis and I have for you is going to be well worth your time. Um, you're going to I'm hoping you're going to feel like this was worth thousands of dollars of value to you. This is us doing a reach out to our community. This is a live coaching that we do for quick success. It's the only place where I go live. It's part of our book club also where we bring authors in. And you know, this is a unique time. So, I'm glad you could you could take some time. Um, you met uh my
2:18 business partner of 18 years, Alexis Bank. Uh, you may be familiar with her as Outfacing. She's hosted some podcast. Uh, she uh helped narrate our audio book. Um, and uh, but her real role is u CEO of our company. So, she really call her the brains behind our our brainy brand if if you will. Um, I encourage you to take some notes because we're going to go through some very strategic things that you could do right away, even right after this training. Um, and to learn faster, to live better, and uh, you know, they're so simple little things that people could do, but it's often the simple things that we don't do. How many of you could relate to this? Like simple things, you know what
3:04 to do, but you're not always doing what you know. I always feel like it's better well done than well said. But Alexis and I are going to jump into it. We're going to go to top of the hour. I understand we're going to stay uh 30 minutes uh long uh afterwards uh for our VIPs are on Zoom also. Um let me start by asking you a question that I was thinking about. Uh I was doing a little meditation before I just did a a cold plunge also for those of you who know u you know kind of my brain hacking routine. Um, have you ever by by show of hands or comments in uh YouTube or Facebook or Zoom, wherever you're consuming this, have you ever sat down to focus and like 2, 3, 4, maybe 5 minutes later, you're scrolling on your phone, you're opening tabs on the
3:51 computer, you're wondering what you even came here to do, to focus on. Anybody? Yes. I see a lot of thumbs up, a lot of yeses. Well, we want to tell you that you're not alone. You know, in fact, we're living through the greatest attention crisis in human history, right? It's said that the average person's focus is shorter than a goldfish's. Uh then that's pretty pretty sad. And yet at the same time, we're being asked to learn more, to be able to understand more, to be able to process more, to be able to read more, to be able to remember more. And there's a certain standard that expectation a pressure to perform at higher levels than before. And that's a real I don't know how you're dealing with it, but
4:37 that's a dangerous gap, right? So today, Alexis and I wanted to kind of uh pull back the curtain in our quicksuccess program. Many of you are part of it, quicksuccess.com. I always teach something brand new live with with our members. And so this is something that I I feel like we haven't addressed before, Alexis and I, in any book, in any podcast, even any course. We are going to talk about it extensively at a live event that we're doing later this year, which many of you have registered for. So we're so excited about that. We're not going to just teach it. We're going to be doing it. Um, but why do you what made you tune in today? put it in the chat and uh Alexa center get started you know because for me look around have you heard about this
5:24 little thing called AI right automation we're in a world of constant change the future doesn't belong always to the smartest it belongs to the most adaptive learners and appliers and your ability to access the what makes you human right your focus your creativity, your your your recall, it's not a luxury anymore. It's really a a necessity. It's it's a prerequisite for survival moving forward. And so, if you want to, let's say, you want to um recession proof your brain in a way, right? So, you're not paddling against the waves. I We're going to talk about brain waves. If you see my shirt, I I have the five brain wave states that we're going to show you
6:09 how to access. So, you're not paddling against those waves because that's your biology. because sometimes when you struggle, you're fighting your own system. And so what Alexis and I, our mission is is really for you to know your brain uh so you could use it better, right? If you know how your brain works, you could work it better. But it doesn't come with an instruction manual. And so we're doing this event for a few days, three straight days at this five-star resort in San Diego. And I know not everybody could join us for this live event, but I want to share with you one tool out of the 12 plus that we'll be sharing there. Because what if instead of fighting your brain, you could learn to ride its natural rhythms, right? To to double your performance. And no exaggeration in half the time because this this changed my
6:56 life. So, we're going to talk about our wave method. And it's about accessing the the five brainwave states that you cycle through the day. Uh the challenge is is the if the activities that you want to pursue aren't conducive to those brain waves, then you get you then you're you get a crash, right? Then you're fighting against uh the the flow of the water. I mean, you can think about waves like like surfing, right? Instead of pushing harder through willpower, you're pushing harder through stress, through hustle culture, through struggle. You'll you'll learn better how your mind's natural states. Beta for focus, alpha for learning, theta for
7:43 creativity, delta for recovery, gamma for your big breakthroughs. I mean, that's really the the sum of it. And when you don't have to wait to get into those brain wave states when you can access it on demand, you're living a life like I mean beyond beyond flow states I think you know you're living in that zone and it looks like magic what you produce in your life but there's a method behind the magic and that's what we want to talk about today. You'll not just learn faster you know you'll live better you'll live more fully and one of my values is freedom. you'll live more free because you have your your agency there. All right, so we're going to go through some of the research, some of the some of the tactics. Um, let me just
8:29 open this chat. Mind is already floating, April. All right, so this is where you focus here. Um, Alexis, where do you want to uh where do you want to start with this because there's so many directions, you know, I know you use this. this is one of your advantages that you have that allows you to you know have your family to be able to do the philanthropy that you do to have your raise two kids to run a you know we have students in every country in the world so it's very international organization um where where where maybe you could give a little like your perspective in terms of the age that we're in right now because in I saw an email that we sent out to invite people and we're like the information age is dead and I don't like what what what does
9:15 that mean? And and then let's go into the tools. So, you know, like it's interesting to see because I wasn't always like this, right? I was very different. We've been working together for what almost like 18 years now. It's pretty wild to think about. And I was in a very different place. Um I definitely had trouble focusing. I procrastinated a lot. I was all over the place. And recently when I was sharing this with a friend, she was super surprised. She's like, "Oh my god, I could never imagine you being like that because now I'm different." Um, and what I realized over the years, especially recently, the past couple of years, you know, we like once I started to unlock even new layers, like I already knew a lot of the things that we've been teaching and talking about,
10:03 but there's more. It just keeps showing up. Your mind is just so fascinating. And I realized that we've none of us been shown like no one was shown like how to do this. And we're just in a system where we're not empowered to discover what our minds are truly capable of. And I'm even fascinated even like every day. It's like, oh my goodness, like I didn't even know we could do that. Um, and I started to do a lot of the the wave method that we're talking about intuitively. But when we started to put the puzzle together, I'm like, "No, there's actually science behind this and it's um it's really mind-blowing and I think everyone can learn and adapt um and with the changes that are coming up, it's perfect timing because now we're being given the
10:48 opportunity to um really access the selfmastery, the internal and external." So, we wanted to go over that and we've been talking about this information age that we've been in for quite some time. And I'm seeing that because of AI and everything, information is everywhere. It's not about the information anymore. We can find answers on demand and we don't have to try to do everything, but it's about being more intentional. And now we're saying that the creative age has begun. So what does that mean? That means people who can be um creative thinkers, the divergent thinkers meaning people who can connect dots in multiple domains to find um be able to think
11:33 creatively to find creative solutions and make better decisions. Those are the skills that will be even more important now than ever before. So you know I think this is um I think just like the fitness and physical industry um yes you know if we really wanted to now we don't have to walk at all right like we can get around everywhere without having to do any exercise or walking but if we build better discipline then we have the tools to get healthier because we have the data and I think the mind is the same where now we have the opportunity to really enhance our capacity to think and shift our perspective and be able to see
12:19 the world in ways we haven't been able to see before. Yes. And I want to challenge everybody because as coaches we want to push you to kind of think in new ways. There's a quote that says once a person's mind stretched by a new idea never regains its original dimensions by uh Oliver Wendell Holmes. So I invite you, I actually challenge you stay through this training, you know, because we especially at the end where we pull everything together and really turn it into the the step by step. These are the same methods that we teach uh I don't want to drop names, but these we've taught these to world leaders uh to Fortune 500 CEOs, Olympic athletes, Hollywood actors, all of those, right? But if if you're ready to stop fighting your brain and start surfing it, then
13:04 you don't want to miss a single minute. And by the end, you will have stepby-step blueprint how to unlock focus, creativity, memory, and and I also want to talk about flow states, right? That zone where things are effortless. You lose sense of time, you lose your sense of self, and you feel your best, and you perform your best. And this is the training I wish I had when I was labeled the boy with the broken brain, you know, and it just might change your life. Um, one of the things that we somebody just mentioned in the chat was that AI um is AI making us dumber, right? And many of you, how many of you have seen by a kind of a show of yeses, you've heard about the MIT study that came out a couple of months ago, Chad GBT?
13:50 Yes. So just the 30 seconds on that why this is so relevant right now because that the methods are always there but do you have the mindset and the motivation to use those methods. So this stopped me when I saw this. We already wrote about this phenomenon in Limitless dating back over five years ago and when I was written it was two years before that. We we talked about something called digital deduction where we're outsourcing our brains to devices and it's doing not only remembering things digital dementia but thinking for us right and so there's a study done at MIT's media lab and it it was covered in Time magazine and everything all the news uh stations covered it where they track uh 54
14:36 students um as they wrote like kind of like an SAT style essays using just three approaches. is uh chat GPT. There was a search engine like a Google search and then nothing. They just used their own their own brains. And while they were doing it, they were wearing EEG caps. And we're going to talk about EEG and how it measures those five brain wave states. And so researchers were measuring basically it's the it's the brain where EKG is measuring the your heart activity. EEG is ma measuring your brain activity across and they were doing it across every essay session and the results were crazy. You know the chat GPT group those leaning on AI they
15:22 showed the least brain engagement and that's kind of obvious right cuz it's doing it for you. They underperformed at neural at linguistical at creative levels and over time they even became extremely lazy. they started resorting just to copy paste uh producing like formulaic and it was described in this study as like soulless sessions right the there were these soulless uh learnings soulless essays and they were learn they they felt like they were losing ownership of those ideas and how it relates to the brainwave states their their five brain wave states you know their alpha their theta even their delta activity uh it it it surge linked to creativity,
16:11 memory, uh sematic processing. For those who wrote the essays, they felt uh because I'm talking about the the contrast group, the ones that did it with their their own brain, they had the highest levels of neuro connectivity. Um which is amazing. Their alpha, theta, their delta activity surged. It was linked to their, again, we're going to talk about how theta is linked to creativity. how alpha is linked to learning and memory, how um deep sematic processing is usually happening in delta when you're sleeping. So those who wrote essays that they they felt it was more original, they recalled their own work, which makes sense, right? they they took more even uh pride you could say in their work but even when they later used chat GPT they re-engaged those neuronet
16:58 networks almost as if their internal wave their writing muscles were still there right and it's like like riding a bike but but here's the kicker that I really want to underscore this isn't just about essays it it is a true mirror into how our brains are shaping or shrinking in the era of artificial intelligence and this is just the the start of it, right? If if what we launched into as like efficiency becomes like this cognitive anesthetic, we risk trading productivity for meta cognitive laziness. And you know, creativity is only when it's convenient or you know,
17:45 we have we we have this this depth now for instant answers. So that's why the wave method is really critical and again it's one tool that we're going to dive into. Um because in a world where AI is like nudging us to go into autopilot so we don't have to think. Remember your brain is use it or lose it. So we're here in this session to help you stay awake, right? I don't want to use the metaphor matrix, but I use it a lot, you know, in terms of being awake uh and being pulled out of the matrix. But we want you to surf your own natural brain waves. And really, it's about limitless is about reclaiming the ownership, the authorship of your own thoughts, your own memories, um, and your own insights
18:31 and creativity. So, you know, I I mentioned how alpha. So, you could write these down. Why don't we go why don't we go through this and I have it on my shirt so it's kind of like a little cheat sheet. Um you could also just Google images, you know, brain wave states, but I'm going to show you how to make it practical. All right. So, um you know, Alexis and I were talking about uh how this is related a little bit to the water, right? Um Alexis lived in Hawaii. You know, there's a lot of great waves. you know, beta. If it's if you're thinking about surfing, I'm going to give you a couple metaphors because it's a great way to learn fast. If you're thinking about beta, that's when you're most awake. Hopefully, you're all awake, right? You're mostly all in beta state.
19:18 If you were hooked up to that EEG cap, you would be measuring at a beta frequency. Um, which is uh which is very fast, right? And the water is like if we're using the analogy of waves, it's fast. It's it's more choppy surf. It's great for riding hard and fast focus execution, right? You're very consciously aware. You might even be in fight or flight. The alpha is a stage right below it. And that is more of a smooth rolling wave, right? As you go down, it slows down, right? So, this is you're going into parasympathetic, which we could talk about the benefits of that. It's easier to paddle. It's it's more calm. It's more steady. Alpha states for relaxed
20:05 learning. Whenever I want to learn something faster, I go put myself into an alpha state. And you can learn languages, you can learn facts, you can learn any subject faster, being in that relaxed state of awareness because you're tapping more of your unconscious, your non-concious. The the state below that, even slower, is the theta state. And you can imagine these as if you're a surfer, these dreamy uh twilight swells, right? This is where surfers they drift into flow. They drift into their creativity. So alpha you could absorb information in theta is where you're creative and you could draw it out. Um you know an interesting thing I I I read recently like uh showers will put you running water
20:50 touching the visceral touching your skin will put you into an up into a theta state. How many of you more your ideas come when you're in the shower? Something about that right? You're more creative. you're more in flow. It's always when you can't write something down. That's why you should you if you haven't taken our quick recall program, you'll be able to memorize it. Um I took six showers for all of you just just just to be like on point for you today. Um and then finally, right below that is delta. So you go beta, alpha. So beta wake focus, alpha, relax state of awareness. We learn faster. Theta you're more creative. And then finally there there's delta and we'll go into gamma. Delta is kind of like the um if you're thinking about the ocean that's deep
21:37 ocean. That's like that stillness, right? That's where the water is calm. It's dark and it's healing. And the delta is for rest recovery, right? That's where you're repairing. That's where you integrate your your long-term your short and longterm memory. That's where you're dreaming, you know, also as well. And then finally, I will put this out there because it's not often talked about. Gamma. Gamma is like this the holy grail, you know, for a lot of people. It's the big wave that combines power and beauty, right? This is where everything integrates almost it feels like at once. And I hope you've had these gamma experiences uh of connection, of eureka, of these aha moments, these deep insights. And uh
22:24 April is Hulk level gamma rays. Yes. Yeah. If you're Yeah. If you want to get me the the geeking out of the superheroes. So that that's the metaphor, right? You could also use a metaphor like whenever I want to learn something, I just think of how does it relate to what I already know because you take something unknown, you tap into something known, right? It could be a radio. I could I could like whenever I learn something, I could compare that to like a radio dial. And then in my mind I'll think about like okay beta is that bitty busy FM right? You know it's high energy it's uh it's noisy. The alpha is like your FM radio. I'm kind of no one listens to radio anymore. I'm dating myself. It's like that chill chill 101 smooth jazz.
23:09 It's where you're relaxed. You're you're alert but you're tuned in, right? It's perfect for absorbing information. Theta state is that uh the frequent the the FM radio would be like dream 88 right this is your late night poetry channel slower rhythms you're getting deep insights you're getting inspiration you're getting unexpected pattern recognition and connections and delta is uh put you to sleep. This is your silence station. It could be white noise. It could be total quiet. It could be you know like it's just this is where you're repairing and resting. But your your gamma that's like I don't know maybe Alexis you probably come up with a better one. It's like a live concert right? Music lights all your senses are firing at once. There's
23:55 integration. There's inspiration. Um and that's that's what I'm thinking about. But you could combine anything to like oh it's like uh traffic. It's like the it's like a garden, right? It could be like uh you know movie analogies. Anything makes it more more sticky. That's the purpose of me giving you layered metaphors because that's that's how we learn. And so maybe we could go through um Alexis some of the ways you integrate these states um and then I could give maybe we could give some put it into a formula for people because I really want to use the second half of this training now that we understand what brain wave states are, right? and and you learned this all in
24:41 30 minutes. By the way, if you were to take a college course, it would be like 3 months to be able to install what we just talked about. So, congratulations on that. Um, now let's make it practical. Now that you have the scaffolding, you understand the the five different brain wave frequencies and they're in measure in hertz. And maybe the team could show an image, you know, it's basically this, right? Like what I have on my shirt if you're watching this on video. Um, maybe we could talk about and yeah, even uh somebody mentioned the brain animals. I could relate the four brain animals. A lot of you took the our assessment at mybrainan animal.com to see your dominant brain type. I could definitely related to which states you spend the most time in and how to access more of it. Um, so maybe we could do that a little bit in the Q&A. But, um,
25:28 Alexis, how how are you sensation with your brain wave states? I know you use we're going to be talking a lot about a lot about this in at the event right and plus there'll be tools like our favorite tools will be at this event like newcom and others that people could actually uh experiment with it experience it themselves with all these these wave beds there which will put you in these these amazing learning states but um you know what what what are you looking at here in this world of if it's not the information age it's the age of you know the future belongs to creators, right? And the it's the age of adaption. How are you using brain waves there in your day-to-day and bal using that to balance your work and your your life?
26:15 Yeah. Um it's been evolving. So now what it looks like um I do wake up pretty early. I was not an early riser before. What time What time is everyone waking up nowadays? I wake up around 4:35. But yeah, that's why like but it wasn't like that. And it just it built over time. Um so in the morning now I start with meditation because I I was never a meditator before and recently we went to Joanza's meditation and I just saw the benefit of being able to tune my mind and just having that mind and heart coherence. It was so powerful. So I decided to integrate, you know, 30 minutes every day and I've been doing it since. Um
27:00 it's been amazing. But um so I can share like how it evolved from before because every you know we always talk about small simple steps. So not that everyone has to do this because I've been doing it and building it over time for a long time. It's what it is now. Um so I start with meditation and I have 30 minutes of reading and now I have um like 15 minutes of like sunrise. when the sun rise the sun comes up I go outside with without anything just to be silent um and then you know kids wake up and I get them ready and there's like the whole morning thing and I start to ramp up my brain waves so I started to do this and what I realized is that like you after you wake up you're kind of in the theta state so I put myself into
27:45 like meditation but then I slowly bring it out to more alpha low beta by reading And then like you know you're doing your um dayto-day getting things ready in the morning and then after you know I do my little workout that I do at home and that's when you're starting to like you know like ramping up your brain more and more and more and by the time I'm ready to go like that's when I my brain starts firing at like midba that's when all the um strategic thinking happens the um decision- making and I'm on pretty much my beta is pretty long and then I create intentional alpha dip in between by just slowing it pulling it back. Um that's
28:31 when I do more of the like a creative like review and just getting my mind like slowing down from firing all the time. So I I design my day in a very specific activities that's going to induce different brain states and then I bring it back up to beta and then in the evening I slow it down. Um you know spending time with kids being more present that's a little bit more like low beta. you don't have to although they do drive you crazy some things but you know but I try to keep it in um low beta and then in the evening that's when I do alpha again but my alpha morning and evening are different so I try to not do anything that's work specific
29:16 unless it's an emergency but it's usually just you know things that you know that I want to learn that I want to discover um and then I put myself back into theta before sleeping. So that's when I get more into like my internal world reflection, um connecting the dots, putting uh puzzle pieces together and allow my mind to just kind of drift. So you create different intentional spaces. Um and then I fall asleep much better. So I fall asleep when I'm not thinking about it. Then if things do surface now I have the like I can talk to my mind better than I used to be able to talk to my mind. And I would just think of it as
30:01 like okay this is beta brainwave conversation. I'm going to schedule that for tomorrow and I just create a window where I'm going to have like that intentional thought into that specific problem. So I really try not to like this is this it took me time but it um you can get there. So intentionally I'll put different activity and I use different music to induce different brain states like throughout the day. So I bring it from theta alpha mid beta to high beta and my beta ranges pretty long and then I bring it all the way back down to theta before sleeping. And it's so important. I just want to, you know, it's there's no right answer, right? The brain wave states, it's really what's most useful. You know, some people, some
30:47 research suggests that people that have uh learning challenges don't spend enough time in alphatheta. They just delta sleep, beta wake up, right? There's no there's no down uh down downgrading, you know, slowing down. So, you're just going from like sleep to wide awake to sleep, right? And the worst is that people stay in that high beta, which is stress, anxiety. So, you're just worrying and thinking about stuff all day long without having any of the rhythm throughout the day. And people wonder why they're burning out because you're not giving yourself that space for your brain to really slow down and have that introspection and reflection. Yeah. which is really important to um be in that focus place because if you allow
31:33 your brain to go into that place intentionally and do different activities, your brain will perform so much better at low and mid beta because it knows what it needs to focus on and everything else like you know that that wave is coming later. And I could give some external tools that that that I use. So so beta is around 14 to 30 hertz, right? Beta state is like your focused attention and execution. So you want to get into beta when you want to be able to have those attributes, right? So it's like your study mode. This is the the deep work that you want to do. This is uh high executive functioning like problem solving. And so there are some
32:18 external tools that you could access to be able to to have uh quicker access because think about it like you experience the world through at least at least five senses, right? And so certain light will put you in a certain state like bright light like uh will stimulate your alertness will help drive beta. That makes sense, right? as opposed to delta where that's a asleep frequently wavelength is you want it completely dark right so bright light will stimulate you create alertness which will help you to focus because you need alertness to be able to focus you know another thing that would drive beta in terms of habits and routines simple things that you're probably already doing you do intentionally uh caffeine done
33:05 strategically right coffee matcha I I go green tea uh especially because I pair it with um elenine for so it's like a I don't get the jitters and it's more smoother focus um things that could help you drive more beta uh neutropics like I'll do a plug right now like our neutropic product quickmind five ingredients and what does it do human studies you know in an FDA approved lab no you know it's gluten-free is it's vegan there's no caffeine so you can pair it with coffee, but it has science-based ingredients, human studies to enhance focus, memory, mood, and mental energy, right? That that that will help drive more more focus, attention, your deep
33:52 work to get you through your day. Another thing could be certain apps. I mean, I won't mention any specific apps, but the apps that drive like a pomodoro technique, right? Some very familiar because I talk about a lot. Pomodaro is working for like 25 minutes. Um, so that's a focused sprint. You have to be in beta. You're not going to be drifting off, right? Because you have a timeline. You know, I set a timer, kitchen timer. I I'm very analog cuz I don't like to be on screens as much. 25 minutes and I'll just be in beta mode and that will help me. Um, there are um neurological feedback devices. one of the people that will one of at our event you'll be able to experience uh I I'll show you even my
34:38 unit I use something called Muse uh which is the largest neuro feedback platform in the world it's a headband that can actually measure gamifies these you know different brain wave states you know maybe we could send a followup I think I have a discount code you know just because I've been adviser in the past for them but these are all things that you could use and then also Remember what could help put you in state is your environment like like light, but you also hear things. So, Alexis mentioned music, right? There's certain sounds that could put you into states, you know? I I pre I like Newcom personally as my my choice. Some people use other ones because it has the range of brainwave states as opposed to uh some platforms that just put you into more of a alpha meditative state. Does
35:24 that make sense? Like there's a focus track, there's a flow track. So, it's like it takes the guesswork out of it. Um, I I like like even pink noise could help you get into a beta state. Upbeat, you know, I don't like music that has lyrics to it cuz I personally I get more more distracted if they're lyrics, but something that's upbeat that's more instrumental driven. Uh, it works for me. But that that's an example of like five, six things that you could use very simple, easily accessible to get into a beta state. So you don't have to hope you're going to get in that beta focused state, right? The whole idea, just like when we talked about in quick productivity, um, which is one of our flagship programs, you know, we talk about chronotypes, your time types based on
36:10 your biology, that there is such a thing as an early bird, right? Or a night owl. And it has to do with your biological rhythms, uh, your ultranium rhythms, your circadian rhythms, your hormonal expression. And you know, once you know that, you know when the best time to check email is, when the best time to work out, when the best time to sleep, when the And so you're not fighting your biology. Brainwave states, I think, is is even more important because this is the master control center of of everything is is your mind. Um, so I I'll just go really quickly as I'm kind of stream conscious doing this. Like Alexis mentioned, alpha state, that's about 8 to 13 hertz. Um, you don't need to know this. There's no there's no quiz. Although if you quiz yourself that rapid review will help you to learn it better. Um that's the
36:56 relaxed state of of awareness. You know that's where you can learn better. You know when I when I want to read I put myself into an alpha state and a very specific strategy for doing so. Meditation will put you in alpha state. Often um great hypnotherapists will put you into an alpha state because in the alpha state beta you're consciously aware right? you're very alert and very focused. Alpha state, you're taking more in because you're not using your squelter or critic to uh to edit yourself, right? So, information just flows in. Television will put you in alpha state and that could be good or bad depending on what you're watching because it's going in like your kids unfiltered,
37:41 right? Because when you're in that trance, like hypnotherapists will put you in alpha state where you're more malible up here and so you're more open to suggestions. I'm not talking about like bark like a dog or sing like Elvis kind of like like stage hypnosis. I'm talking about a trained hypnotherapist could help rewire your thinking, your negative beliefs, your your trauma and your your past uh you know limiting states, right? And so things that could put you in alpha state um on the high end, float tanks, most cities have a place you go to to get into a flow tank where it's a sensory deprivation tank. Um helps you to get to alphatheta state. Um binaural beats which you could find on YouTube, right? There are lots of apps which I'm not
38:26 going to promote any specific but you could search alpha music, right? Or uh breath work. There's something called alpha breathing. It's like a box breathing done at a certain pace, right? Um, and so that would be about six breaths per minute, every 10 seconds. If you want to get in theta, you just slow down your breath. And when you slow down your breath, you slow down your brain waves. Think about it. If you're breathing really, really, really fast, you're going to be in beta, right? Because you're going to be very, very alert and in that fight or flight. And so all of these things, wearables, you know, heart math has a great u way of tracking HRV coherence. Um, you know, as as a device, um, you know, light, they're light devices that put you in alpha state. These fancy goggles, uh, they're kind of
39:13 expensive that have audio and light, but those those are resources there. And then just really finally just to round this out and we'll take this conversation into another level. Theta is the frequency from about about 4 to 7 hertz. And that's the state as Alexa and I talk about creativity of insight. Um there's even some memory consolidation that happens when you're in theta state, you know, and this is uh the functionality when I want to get into theta states for like daydreaming. Um I want to have a breakthrough. I want to have more aha moments, you know, where I'm just like coming up with ideas. Uh, just like when you're in that shower. So, you could listen to binaural beats in that range in theta range, you know, four to seven hertz. Um, and there are
40:00 other other sound devices. I'm not going to mention some of them, but um, yeah, I mean, I just want to mention because Dave asked the um question. And if alpha is between like 8 and 13 and beta is between 14 and 30, does that mean the states overlap? They do. And this is why having an awareness around the wave that happens because it's not um natural biology like it's it's continuous, right? So there's no real like precise end point and beginning point. It's different for everyone because I know for like reading books for some people it's a low beta activity for me it's alpha so that it puts me into alpha state so you have to um having an awareness you start paying
40:46 attention to like okay like what state am I in right now am I daydreaming am I being creative because workout kind of puts me in my theta state that's when I daydream like crazy so between um shower getting ready working out like I'm in my theta state like you know that's why it um as a dolphin, you know, the visionary, that's the state that I'm in often every day because those are the things that triggers um my theta state, but it's not like that for everybody. So for some people, reading will put them more into beta state. Um for me, it's alpha. That's why when I want to get myself out of the mid beta, I would read for 10 minutes. Then it kind of brings it down to like it slows my brain down into more alpha, you know, learning. Um
41:32 and then it kind of like you know tapers it off. Um cuz when I'm in my beta state like you know you know how I am it's very different. Um so just being aware of your internal state and asking yourself question like okay am I uh absorbing information right now or am I daydreaming um am I putting my focus into something and just notice what's triggering um that brain state. A lot of times people you know we talked about like you know how they're in this high beta stress anxiety all day and they're exhausted. So what they want to do is brain naturally would want to go into this alpha state and they would just turn on the TV and they zone out and
42:17 that's literally the cycle. So you can um your brain will seek different activities anyway and if you're not intentional, if you're not aware of it, you will get pulled into a lot of the things that your brain is craving, but you'll have a lot of um unintentional actions and you're just absorbing information that you may not even want to. So um or just scrolling through mindlessly scrolling through social media. A lot of people do that like at the end of the day just like that's all they do because they're they don't want to think about anything. Um but your brain is absorbing because you're putting yourself in that alpha state and that's what's triggering it. But there are other things that could trigger the alpha state and you can actually use all the states to um learn something or
43:04 consolidate something, reflect, connect dots. It could be very intentional. So throughout the day, you're just, you know, your mind is just morphing into um the new version every like little bit each day. It's really fascinating. Yeah. Somebody was asking about um at at our event and I just want to take a minute because I'm going to go into how to get it delta and gamma. And then I want to give you four steps on how to master your brain waves. All right? So it's an acronym and it's wave. Uh so you definitely want to stay tuned for that in terms of how you design your own your own brain wave states and you can do it also for your friends and your family if you're if you're a coach. You never want to go against somebody's wave, right? So helps to put them in state. We have this
43:50 3-day event called Limitless Live for example. So not only are we teaching this as one of the 12 plus tools, we're playing the alpha music, you know, while you're learning from from people, right? We have these theta beds, right? in these devices where we can measure your brain waves. And so everything we're doing, we don't just teach it. We we want to apply it while that's why we have such and imagine like everybody's getting into this state. There's this there's this coherence, right, with a thousand other people and that and so we start tuning in and then harmonizing like an orchestra with with everybody else and it's powerful, right? That's how Joe Despensza does a lot of his healings. For those of you familiar with like a lot of a lot of his work, it's putting you into different brain wave states through breathing exercises and
44:35 through through music. Our application though is performance, right? Uh healing very very important. Great. But we're doing this three-day performance event where we're bringing in the the the top brain doctors. I'm not going to mention the names because you'll know you'll know all the New York Times bestselling authors, but specifically they're not going to give their normal talks. We're customizing Limitless Talk. So, they're sharing something that they don't share customize for for specifically performance. April's asking for a link. Um, I think the link is uh limitlesslive.com. So, you could go there. Um, for everybody here, as a thank you, the team just put it here that you get a you get to save hundreds of dollars by joining
45:20 for as a thank you for being here. And you also get uh our quick thinking program if you don't have it already. And that's a 21-day how to master your thinking, not just positive thinking, how to solve problems, how to be creative, uh how to master your pattern recognition. And it's it's amazing. And that program is is $1,000, right? So it's kind of like it that alone people a lot of people do it even without going to the event. But that's there. I think somebody put it ve in the in there and I think if we could put it in YouTube. Yeah. Quick thinking great precursor for people on YouTube. Yeah. Um quick thinking is great. Uh because now we're moving into creative
46:09 age and I do think the the quality of your thinking we're going to be challenged with that a lot. Just because AI is doing all the work for you doesn't mean that you uh forego that um that ability. If anything, you can you need to enhance it more. And quick thinking is really designed for creative thinking, problem solving and decision- making. So, how are you making decisions? And with all the information that is being given to you, are you able to discern between like you know what's true? How do you you know measure those things? So, we'll actually cover more of that at the event extensively, but um quick thinking is like we'll have I'll give you an example. We we have over 20 speakers and these are mentors to me. So, I'm very protective of our
46:56 community. I just got off the phone with uh the creator of MacGyver, right? The original series and the new series. What does MacGyver do? It's like a verb. When you maggyver something, you're taking like duct tape and a safety pin and some toothpaste and you're disarming like a nuclear bomb, right? a big problem. But it's all about resourcefulness, right? It's all it's all about, you know, how can you take what you have and use it and apply it to solve some of the biggest challenges in your life. So, it's not about the resources externally, it's about your internal resourcefulness. And he's going to go through MacGyver's stepby-step strategy on how to solve problems and how to improvise a under stressful situations. So this this is different than yes we'll
47:42 have you know doc Dr. Gabriel Lions and Dr. Mindy like the many you're in our community so you know who these individuals are so I don't mention them but we'll have other individuals you know who have like who are master polymaths who could speak so many different languages and teach you how to do that. That's one of the big ones. We'll have the one of the top experts on flow states sharing their latest research on how to do that. And it's called Limitless Live because it's all about how do we win in 2026 and beyond in this age of AI. And we have this AI panel. That's going to blow your mind. how to use not only AI to enhance your enhance your hi your human intelligence but how to use it properly so that you could be
48:27 more valuable in your career to your family to your life without compromising your own cognitive strength um so again limitlesslive.com uh you can go there for more information it'll be spectac and plus honestly selfishly I'd love to we have a big bookstore there all our speakers be doing signings we photos all that fun stuff but it' be great it it' be events changed my life. Right. Alexis and I met met at an event. Um and so that's my kind of kind of quick quick idea and invitation. It's a long time coming. We haven't done one in eight years and I know a lot of our uh members from our community have been asking for many years. We're really excited to bring it all together. And we're doing it right just like with our supplement quickmind.com. I'm just
49:14 shameless about the resources because I I wish people would have done that for me when I was struggling and needed that that that I those introductions, those mentorship. Uh the events at a at a five-star resort outside of San Diego, December 8, 9, and 10. And this is where Alexis and I first got started. We did the events there in 2010, 2011, 2012. It's it's it's amazing. They have organic gardens, farm to table, saline pools. I mean it it is you'll you'll have quite an experience and a journey. We take you from the day you get there the time you get there to the end. We take you on a journey to become literally like limitless. This will be the most profound experience for many people's lives this year. And I I don't say that with I say that without
50:00 hesitation because I believe not only in that but I believe in what's inside you. Right? I've been doing this for 34 years. everything that we put out there, whether it's the supplements, the book, the courses, it's what I wish I had, you know, ear earlier in my life, you know, and it's the things that I share, you know, our families will be. This is like it's sacred. So, so it's very special. Um, all the information on Limitless Live, uh, so you can see the details, the location, everything else. All right, let's go. Let's I I want to just wrap up with these four stages, but these four steps, but I also want to make sure you get the other two. There's delta and delta again there's overlap as Alexis said right it's about 0.5 to like like three hertz and this is your deep
50:46 sleep this is where you're getting healing this is getting where you're getting recovery now I'm not going to go through a lot of external tools because it's in limitless we've done like 20 podcasts on how to optimize your sleep all sleep will put you in a delta state right we could talk about you know the best mattress which we do we talk about like weighted blankets Right. Deep pressure will boost your melatonin, your serotonin, helping you ease into delta access. We could talk about the power of red lights. So, instead of like, you know, or no lights at all, making it, you know, blackout curtains, um, all those things, we could talk about magnesium, you know, and natural like sleep enhancers. That one I think you have covered. And you could just search my name sleep and you'll get all those resources. Gamma. All right. So gamma is
51:32 about on the higher end it's like 30 to 80 plus hertz and gamma is really about it's about integration. It's about the highest levels of learning. It's about limitless cognition. All right. This is about big picture thinking. This is about memory binding. I mean this is where the magic happens. you know, it's insight, it's peak flow. Um, and so that that that's and we're going to talk about GAM at this event and give you an experience of that. Um, and there there are things because it's so coveted. It takes it takes practice, but there are headsets that get you there. There are neuro feedback headbands that get you there. There are brain entrainment audios that
52:20 could get you there. There's uh photobiom modulation um which is some of you know like they've done MIT research at Alzheimer's supporting gamma oscillations using light frequencies lights that that flicker um and there is and I'm not I'm not going to um comment on this but there's there's psychedelic assisted therapy right there's clinical in in clinical settings that'll be my my caveat right shown to heighten gamma synchronicity through integration and for those of you've done experimented with that um recreation or through through therapy, you've know what I'm talking about. That sense of oneness, that sense of that sense of total being, right? Uh not being judged
53:05 and all that. But um yeah, I am just going to mention it's better to build your own mental discipline to get there. you know, a lot of the thing it's it's good to, you know, experiment and know what that's like, but it's always better to build your own brain pathways to get to these states. Yeah. And some people use technology like biohacking devices or whatever to experience a state and then know it's possible. And then all biohacking stuff and you know, I've spoken at all the biohacking conferences. Uh it's just it's mimicking nature, right? All the red light stuff is like the sun and oxygen chambers, you know, hyperbaric chambers like it's like breathing, you know, it's the EMF, the PMF, like grounding, right? It's all it's it's it's
53:51 nature they call bi biomimicry, right? Where we learn from nature and that how that builds a lot of our our civilization and technology, right? Um so yeah, it's it's really fascinating stuff. Um, I'll go through more of this in the in the the the Q&A, but I I do want to leave you uh with four steps. I promise. So, you know, you know, I like to make an acronym out of everything in case you're not taking notes. Um, which I think you should. Um, and then teach somebody so you learn it better. Uh, but pneumonics and acronyms, metaphors, they allow you to make more sticky. So, I always teach like this. Um, so write down the word wave. And these are just four things to think
54:37 about. Um, and then I hope uh I hope to see you at the event. You know, I'll mention that that wasn't the intention of this, but selfishly it would be if you're here, then you're our people and it would like it would be amazing time time and space. People could listen to stuff. We have no plans right now to broadcast it um because it's kind of an experience in in those walls. I know it's not possible for everybody, but I promise you I've told every speaker and trainer that my goal is I want everybody your contribution is what I tell the 20 speakers and trainers and coaches. I want people to feel just from your presentation, it was worth the tuition of the event and the travel out for this event and that that's the standard that we have for you because I
55:23 know like if I have to leave my family and my kids and you know there has to be a really good reason. All right. So, the wave um and we'll go into more detail is watch. You need to watch your state. Awareness is always the first step to transformation. Period. You can't change something that you don't know exists, right? So, this is watch. Just like if we're going back to surfing, right? Surfer checks the ocean before paddling out. You have to notice your brain wave state. Are you beta busy? Are you alpha calm, focused? Are you the creative? Are you delta resting? Are you gamma? Like you're in that integration kind of place. Um and and some practical thing you could do is just do a body scan. You know, am I tense now or am I calm? Am I sleepy?
56:10 Am I alert? Like get aware. Watch watch your state. All right. The a in wave was align because you want to align with the wave that you wanted to ride. Right? So don't fight the current, right? You could surfers could choose the right wave, right? Learners align with the right brain wave. So the practical cue for everybody would be pick the right state that for the task that you need to accomplish. You need more focus, shift to beta. You want to learn faster, go to alpha. You want to be more creative and so and have more inspiration ideas go into theta. You want to rest, repair, recuperate, you're going to delta sleep. Or if you want to go into that lighten state and see the whole big picture go
56:57 in you could you know uh design something around gamma and then finally the v and the e and wave I will say that there is power on visualization you could I I say visualize not everyone visualizes let's call it uh vitalize right once you align once you are aware and then you align you want to energize that state and so how can you do it you can use some of the external tools tools I mentioned uh breath work right as you slow your breath you slow your heartbeat right and that's why you can't it's hard to sleep if your heart is racing right and if you're in beta breath work will get you there music will get you there um light will get you there if you're states movement can do that also um and then
57:42 you could vitalize like just pick one habit maybe it's a cold plunge to get you into that that beta state you're wide awake, right? Or gratitude to put you into into more that that that theta, you know, cycling down to delta or binaural audio or supplements, right? To help you feel calm. Like there's supplements like ashwagandha, there's certain supplements that actually mod modulate your state. And this helps you're vitalizing. It helps lock in the state and primes your your brain and your body for action. And then the E is always execute. We always end with action. Otherwise, knowing is not enough. you have to apply. So, but my my only caveat on that would say you want to execute, but I challenge you to do it with more ease. Like, how can you reach
58:29 this goal and enjoy the process? You know, how can you how can you reach this goal and do it in less time with more fun, more enjoyment? Like, that's a big focus for me at this event. Like if you look at trailers from previous events, you know, people it's and I'm not asking people to I'm not I'm just not that guy to say like, you know, like a raw guy, but you'll see people having the time of their life because we set the environment for them to do so because there's games and there's fun that's embedded in it. And I feel like we learn the best when we're we're playing. And so there's an ease to it. So waves carry you to the shore. They don't drag you under, right? And a practical thing you can do is is break work into those micro sets. You know, 10 20 minutes, let the rhythm do the heavy lifting. And after
59:16 the session, you could pause and you could consolidate, you know, just like what we teach in our accelerated learning program. You could journal, you could teach the explanation effect, you could reflect on what you just learned, you know. So just my our message here and this is what we do again in quick success every month. Um, how many quick success members? I see a number of people here. Um, Fern and Eric and um, here here's and then I'll I'll let Alexis um, say her closing remarks. It's just most people try to push against their brain, forcing focus when tired or trying to sleep when wired, right? Does that sound familiar? Then you're going to burn out because you're going against your natural rhythms. All right? That's like paddling against the ocean. the the you using something simple like
1:00:03 understanding your brain waves like the like this wave method is about becoming a surfer of your own mind right so watch your state align with the right one vitalize it with the right tools and then execute with with ease you know and then when you're riding the wave learning stops I I can't tell you the past like I've been developing this now for over 30 years learning stops being a struggle work stops being a struggle and it starts becoming more second nature because it is your nature you know just like when I say that that life is like an egg you know that if an egg's broken by an outside force life ends but if it's broken by an inside force and it hatches then life begins you know you we really believe at our team that you have
1:00:48 greatness inside of you have genius inside of you know and and our our whole mission is just helping you let more of that out that there's a version of yourself that's patiently waiting you know and the goal is we show up and we learn about ourselves more and more every day. And then that's how we build the self-esteem. Like if you understand more about how your mind is, you're just like, "Wow, I'm more powerful than I ever thought possible, right? And you almost get a little scared of like how powerful you could be once you start creating these like these micro miracles, but it's not it's not magic. You're magic, right? And you're the greatest project you're ever going to get to work on. So you need to take time, you know, you need to invest in that in your growth. You need to make time and and create that magic. Yeah. Wonderfully said. No. And I want to like like
1:01:35 that. It is true. Your mind is really um it's fascinating. It's really magical. And I I I didn't know what was possible. Uh looking back starting on this journey almost 20 years ago now, it it's incredible how much like we don't know. And now I know how much I don't know. Even though it's evolving continuously, you get more curious. It's like, okay, now it's like morphing into something else. If I can do this, what else is possible? And it just keeps going and going. It's almost like um there's a huge palace inside of your mind and you're discovering new rooms periodically. You're like, "Oh, okay. I did not know that was there." And then
1:02:20 you start exploring uh discovering new floors above and below. And it becomes this whole labyrinth and it just continues to grow like a huge lattice work of like the beautiful palace and you become more and more fascinated. Sammy literally said like memory. I call it the mind palace. But yes, that's Yeah, it's it's incredible. And whenever we're discovering like our own minds, it's like, "Oh my god, I wish I can just bottle cap capture this and just put it into everyone's minds because then like you'll just you you'll know the magic all everything that you're seeking is within you." Um, and I think there's we're living in a world there's so much distraction and it's always fighting for
1:03:06 your attention. And I think when you can utilize your attention, focus, and time to create um the systems and tools that will force your mind to think in ways it didn't think before, magical things happen. And I always tell people, even my kids, when I, you know, sometimes they complain, they're like, "I'm so bored." I'm like, "Good. Now your mind's going to it's going to go to work." can create something amazing for you. It's okay to create that space to think and discover your own mind and you'll be amazed and do this. I don't know you should say this like there there are forces out there that want you not to take your power, right? you know that through media or marketing
1:03:53 or politics or whatever they're they're regardless of where you fall on God super sense about this you know that it's about control right they want consumers just like in education be able to follow certain things um and I I I just feel like we have to stand guard to our mind and we have to take the onus and the agency because when we get lazy with our thinking our critical thinking our ability to look at things more objectively and creatively, you know, and just just whether it's AI telling us what to do or some other third party that just says this is that there's so much misinformation, right? And I I think the nature of a lot of our work is just remember that you are the pilot of your life. You're not the passenger,
1:04:40 right? The the truth is more people should have been on this training. I'm gonna get real raw here because I'm just it's upsetting because I see people hurt all the time about this because they they follow certain people's directions or whatever and it and that that that source doesn't have your best intentions all the time. And I'm not I'm only point you're smart enough to know and realize where this stuff is. And I'm just saying you you have to you have to invest in your own mind so you could discern and learn and have the energy to sometimes do things that that are not in align with who you are with what you believe with with with what with what you value. Right? But this is about transcending. I
…
