02 Hello everybody. Good evening. Good evening. Good evening to you. Welcome to tonight's Bible study. We are in our second part of how to read the Bible, how to study the Bible. Last week we started this series with the title, why you can trust the Bible. Today we are in our second session called the big picture, the big picture. garden to city. That's what I'm choosing to title it today. Where's everybody watching from? Let me know in the comments where you're watching from while we wait for a few more people to join us. Yesterday we
50 had church. Church was really exciting. Church was really amazing. The title is called His Hand is on My Obedience. If you missed the service, make sure you go on the Great Grace TV YouTube and rewatch the service, okay? A few announcements. Over the last year or so, we started speaking up, the last two years actually started speaking up against occultism, witchcraft, excuse me, pedophilia, and more in the church. over several networks. And as you know, it's, there has been some pushback and, you know, people are upset and certain camps have sued us. Okay.
39 Myself and a few other people, and we are standing our ground in, in, in, in light of everything, several victims of rape have come out and spoken and shared their testimonies. Um, several persons have been arrested. Um, so we see that the work that we are doing and have done has not been in vain. Okay. Um, so with that being said, with that being said, we ask for you to stand with us as we fight against, um, uh, occultism in the church, uh, and abuse in the church. Now the title of the campaign is defending the faith. We are looking to raise about $5,000. Watch this. Over the last few days, we have raised $4,300 and every single day we have
29 a live stream. I come on and I share those people who have recently given. So I'm going to do that really quickly. And then we're going to start our Bible study today. All right. A day ago, this is an anonymous giver, $100. And it says, God loves you, EJ. If God be for us, who can be against us? A nice message. Thank you so much, whoever this is for your generosity and for your message. Soni Lawal-Sholarin, that's how you pronounce that. $20, thank you so much, Soni. God bless you. David Z, $60. Thank you so much, David. Psalm 91, girl, $25 with a nice
19 message saying more grace. Thank you so much, Psalm 91, girl. And an anonymous giver gave 16 hours ago, $300. Thank you so much, whoever you are. May God bless you. May God increase you. Thank you so much for standing with us to defend the faith. The other thing that we're, couple of things we're doing, we're looking to raise funds for a van to serve our community. And I'm gonna tell you where to give if you're looking to give into any of these endeavors. And we've raised about 4,800 so far out of the 15,000. So thank you so much to every single person that has been a part of that. We're almost at 5,000. So if you're watching this, let's push, let's push the 5,000, let's push the 10,000 and
04 let's make it happen. And then finally we are rebuilding our church, right? We're rebuilding our church. All of the details, you know, laid out on the links I'm going to provide to you very shortly, they're in, the description in the bio, and also you should see them in the comments as well. We're looking to raise about $135,000, well, plus the Venn, which is $15,000 total, will be 150, but so far we have raised about 1,140. And Martha just gave a day ago $20, and she has a nice message, which I'm going to read to you all. It says, 433 Church, my home, the Lord's house. Thank you, Jesus, for allowing me to be a part of your home. great grace movements, incredible. If you'd like to give towards rebuilding the church, the link is
54 givesendgo.com slash build433, givesendgo.com slash build433. If you'd like to give towards the van, that link is givesendgo.com slash 433 van. We're almost there, we're almost at $5,000. And I can't wait to be inside of the van and make a video from the van And very, very importantly, we are at about, we have 4,300 for the lawsuits and we're looking to raise $50,000 as soon as possible, actually. The link for that is givesendgo.com slash exposing occultism. I wanna thank you, each and every one of you who have stood with us, whether myself, whether any of the victims who have been involved and
42 spoken up and shared your story. I want you to know that this is a collective effort and you know, what's really weird about all of this is that the other party, they watch every single video we make. They have to watch every single video we make. Um, they, you know, cause you then find, they take this links and they throw it in a court documents and it's as though they are trying to suppress freedom of speech. It's a very weird and demonic thing. I think, um, however, the truth will prevail and Christ always wins. Christ has won the victory. So, As we stand together, it is not just, you know, it's not just a donation. It's not just a generosity, but it's a stand towards defending the faith. Okay. And we're doing this together. We're standing together. All right.
28 We're going to start today's tonight's Bible study. And yep. It's titled the big picture garden to city. So this is in our, in our, how to read the Bible. Um, uh series thank you jesus lord i thank you lord i pray that you teach your people today lord they are eager to learn how to read your word lord i ask to ask your word comes into their heart lord that there will be an illumination in their hearts there will be clarity confusion will go and revelation will come in in your name we pray amen amen and amen
16 All right, let's jump into it. So the goal today is I want you to see the whole story in the scripture the moment you go into it, right? Versus getting lost. I want you to stop getting lost and to see the full picture. And the story of the Bible begins in the garden. It begins in Genesis, right? So Genesis chapter one and two, we deal with Eden and We deal with relationship, we deal with authority, we deal with kingdom. All of this is intact. And God walks with humanity in the cool of the day and everything is very good. It's very good. And three things are present that actually define this original state. The first one is relationship,
03 as I just stated. The second one is authority. The third one is kingdom. Relationship in the sense that God and humanity have direct and unbroken communion. Authority in the sense that humanity is given dominion to steward and rule creation on God's behalf. And then kingdom in the sense that God's rule is expressed through his people in his place under his blessing. And that is what was lost. And As you read the whole Bible, you realize that the whole Bible is working to restore what was lost.
50 Then we get into the next part of it. We get into the next phase, which is that the Bible ends with a city. So it begins with a garden and it ends with a city. Revelation chapter 21, verse 22. The Bible speaks about the new Jerusalem. It talks about God dwelling with his people again. And it says this city has no temple because God himself is the temple. And there is no sun because the lamb is the light. And when you begin to read this story, you realize that the story does have a destination and a destination address. It is very detailed. And I'm going to give you, you know, some information. take home assignments to do
40 after today. I hope you read the story of Emmaus from last week, Luke chapter 24, 13 through 35. I hope you read that. If you didn't read it, if you're just joining us for the first time in this Bible study, you can go watch the first part of it, okay? Isn't God good? All right, so I want you to notice the deliberate parallels between Genesis 1 through 3 and Revelation chapter 21 through 22. So all of these things I'm sharing with you, you're going to have some time during your, you know, personal time to go read these things so you can notice them, you can find them, you can see them. Okay. In Genesis, there is a garden. In Revelation, there is a garden city.
26 And in the garden city, what it looks like to us, it looks like Eden is restored and Eden is improved. And in Genesis, a river flows through Eden. And in Revelation, a river of life flows from the throne. Very, very, very deliberate parallels, if you ask me. In Genesis, we have the tree of life. And in Revelation, the tree of life is restored. You can find that if you're taking notes. You can find that in Revelation 22, verse 2. In Genesis, God walks among his people. And in Revelation, God dwells with his people. You remember in Genesis, he walked, he came during the cool of the day. He
12 walked, he came, he looked for them. Where are you, Adam? But in Revelation, we dwell with him and God dwells with us. This is Emmanuel, God with us. In Genesis, a curse enters. And in Revelation, chapter 22, verse three, the Bible says, no longer will there be any curse. Glory to God. Glory to God. I want you to notice, I want you to notice something, that the first and the last three chapters of the Bible, they mirror each other extremely intentionally. And what was broken in Genesis is actually repaired in Revelation.
01 This shows us that this story has an author. This book has an author. And the author knew the beginning from the end or the end from the beginning. He has an author who knew the ending before he wrote the beginning. And that author is the spirit of God. It's not a man. It is the spirit that inspired man to write this book. If you're still following, if you're here, if you are catching this, if you are receiving this, I want you to type in the comments, say glory to Jesus. Glory
49 to Jesus. Oh, how wonderful is God. Now I want you to watch this theme throughout the Bible that the whole Bible is actually about restoration. What God is restoring across the Bible are the first three things we mentioned, which is relationship, authority, and kingdom. Exactly what was lost in the fall, God is restoring it through the scriptures.
34 And then when we walk through the scriptures, you realize, or you find how Jesus appears He didn't in the first books, the first five books of the Bible, which is what is called the Torah. The first five books, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and the Deuteronomy. This is called the Torah. In Genesis, you find him as the promised seed. Genesis chapter three, verse five. I know it's a lot of scriptures to write down. It's a lot of notes to take. We'll discuss at the end of the day when we should have our next Bible. Um, the next session that way you have time to actually absorb what you've learned, right? We're not just breezing through it. You're reading, you're going back, you're doing your homework. You're really understanding the word
22 of God. That's why we're doing this. That's why I'm doing this to teach you for yourself, how to go into the Bible and find God, how to go into the Bible and hear the voice of God, how to leave. Absent above deception, how to find revelation, how to find relationship. how to understand God's great grace inside of the scripture. So in Genesis, he is the promised seed in Genesis chapter three, verse 15. God tells the serpent that a descendant of Eve will crush his head. Glory to God. And that was the first prophecy of Jesus. Sometimes this is referred to by theologians as proto evangelium, which is the first gospel. Proto-evangelium,
11 the first gospel. In Exodus, you find him as the Passover lamb. This is Exodus chapter 12, if you're taking notes. In Exodus chapter 12, he's called the Passover lamb. And the blood of this lamb on the doorpost saves the firstborn from death. Paul writes in 1 Corinthians chapter 5 or 7, he says, Christ, our Passover lamb, has been saved. sacrificed Christ our Passover lamp has been sacrificed so in Genesis he's the promised seed in Exodus he's the Passover lamp in Leviticus he's the sacrifice the entire sacrificial system the atonement the priests the offering
59 is a foreshadow of what Jesus will fulfill once and for all you can find this in the New Testament in revealed in Hebrews chapter 10 verse 1. Hidden in Leviticus, revealed in Hebrews chapter 10 verse 1. In Numbers, he is the lifted serpent. If you're taking notes for my note takers, Numbers chapter 21. The Bible says that Moses lifts up a bronze serpent on the pole. And anyone who looks to this bronze serpent lifted on the pole, anyone who looks at it is healed. And Jesus explicitly connects himself to this imagery. He connects this to himself in John chapter 3, verse 14 through
45 15. He says, just as Moses lifted up the serpent or lifted up the snake in the wilderness, just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted. In Deuteronomy, he's called the prophet to come. He's heeding in there as the prophet to come, Deuteronomy chapter 4. 18, Deuteronomy chapter 18 verse 15, Moses promises. He says, the Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me. And in the New Testament, Peter quotes this directly in Acts chapter 3 verse 22, applying this to Jesus. I want you to watch the theme, catch the theme. For every Old Testament revelation of
31 Christ Jesus, we can see a New Testament revelation for everywhere. He's heathen in the Old Testament. We can see him revealed in the New Testament. So Christ Jesus appears hidden in the first five books of the Bible and is revealed throughout the scriptures. In Genesis is the promised seed. In Exodus, he's the Passover lamb. In Leviticus, he's the sacrifice. In Numbers, He's the lifted serpent. And in Deuteronomy, he is the prophet to come. Glory to God. Glory to God. Glory to God. Now, I
16 want you to catch this. I want you to catch this. I want you to write this down if you're taking notes. The Old Testament is not a separate religion. The Old Testament is not a separate religion. It is the first half of one story. So you hear a lot of people say, well, the Old Testament is done with. We don't need the Old Testament anymore. We don't need Leviticus. We don't need numbers. We don't need the Deuteronomy. We don't need all of that stuff. No, it is all woven. It is all part of the same story. It's all part of the same story.
07 When you read a book, I'm going to ask you all this question. When you read a book or rather when you read the Bible, do you read it as a collection of separate books or as one story with one hero? When you read the Bible, do you read it as a collection of separate books? Or do you read it as one story with one hero? The Bible is not a collection of separate books. The Bible is one story with one hero. So
54 the shift comes if you're searching for Christ, if you're searching for the revelation of God, the shift happens. when he moves from a library to a novel. This changes how you understand any given passage of the scripture. You see, if you miss Jesus, then you miss the Bible. He's not one theme among many. He is the thread. The whole scriptures, the whole thing is woven on. He brings it together. The whole thing is about him. The whole scripture is about Jesus. One story, one hero. This is why a lot of people miss Christ Jesus,
43 miss the revelation of God. Because they read it as, you know, well, this just applies to this and this applies to this and this doesn't really have nothing to do with this. It is so detailed, even the story of Joseph perfectly reflects Jesus. Different stories, just Jesus hidden everywhere. So revelation is the, it's a phenomenon where you find Jesus, where he is revealed to you in every story, every foreshadow, every passage, every theme. that you see in
29 the Bible. He is the theme. Joseph, his father says, his father gives him a coat of many colors. And the reason his brothers were jealous was because the coats represented the firstborn, the inheritance of the firstborn. And so they said, Why would our father pick Joseph as the firstborn? They were upset. They said, no. And then the father takes the blessings and he hands it to Joseph. He gives Joseph a firstborn
18 anointing, a firstborn blessing. How do we know this? His brothers got the blessings of nations. One nation each. But Joseph got the blessing of two nations. Joseph got graduated from a son, just a son to a patriarch. When his father was going to bless him, you don't see a tribe of Joseph. You see a tribe of Ephraim and Manasseh, which are the two sons of Joseph. His father releases them as nations each. His father says, I have adopted these two just as my elder sons, Simeon or Reuben and Simeon. If you want to learn more about this, I did a teaching yesterday called His Hand is on My Obedience. Throughout the year, we're in a
07 theme of His Hand is on Me. So check that out on Great Grace TV. I don't believe it was posted on EJNewton.com. quite yet, but it's on Great Grace TV. We have church every Sundays at 11 a.m. in person. The live stream starts at 1120 a.m. EST online. And every last Sunday of the month, we don't have a morning service. We have a evening service instead. And that service is at 7 p.m. It's called Holy Ghost Night. Don't miss it. Make sure you're there. Invite somebody. We have space for you. We have a seat reserved for you. We have room for your family. Join us every Sunday. Okay. All right. So here's what I'm going to send you home with.
53 I'm going to send you home with these scriptures. I want you to write them down. If you miss them, you can go back, rewind this tape or rewind this YouTube video and you can, you can write them down. So first one is Genesis chapter three, verse 15. The second one is John chapter three, verse 14 through 16. The second one is Revelation. So I'm gonna give you in parts, okay? Then the second one is Revelation chapter 22, verse one through five. And your take home, your send home is to notice the thread. Genesis chapter three, verse 15. Then John chapter three, verse 14 through 16. then Revelation chapter 22, verse 1 through 15. I
44 want you to notice the thread, three passages, one story. Three passages, one story. God bless you. I hope that this Bible study series has blessed you, how to read the Bible, going from confusion to revelation. Hope you've been blessed. I'm going to see you again. When is a good time for us to have our third part in the series. When is a good time? I want you to have time to actually read everything we've talked about. You know, that's why I'm not doing this for very long. You know, somewhere about 15 minutes, 15, 20 minutes I spent teaching. Do you think you're gonna have time today and then we can come back tomorrow or do we come on Wednesday? Do we give it a day apart? What are you thinking? If you're late, don't worry.
32 You're late, but you didn't miss nothing because you could go back and rewind the tape Oh, I keep calling it a tape. You can rewind the YouTube and actually watch it, okay? So there's that. So what are y'all thinking? You think, do we come back tomorrow for the next part? Do we come back on Wednesday? So tomorrow's Tuesday. And if we're doing a day apart, you know, I could do a day apart every day, or we can just do each day. There's so much more I want to show you in studying the Bible. Um, we're going to, we're going to deal with theology in, in the next one by God's grace. If, if, if, if we don't have a, uh, a theme, that's, that's what I'm thinking. All right. Same time is great. What day do we go tomorrow? Then we go
20 Wednesday. What are y'all thinking tomorrow or Wednesday? Tomorrow's Tuesday. Okay. I see tomorrow. Um, How many series are you trying to do? So on this series, it's going to be five parts. And if there's more things to learn, we'll just add some more sessions to it as well. All right, what do we do? Tomorrow's great. All right, we're going to do it tomorrow. I see same time. I see 6 p.m. A lot of people have said the same time, which is five though. So I think we may have to go with the same time. But I want you to promise me something. I'll show up and I'll do these
07 teachings, but I want you to promise me that you go and you actually go into the word and the homeworks that we have, you actually do them. Okay. You're not going to pass or fail. You just have to do them. You just have to go back and read. So it'll make it worth my while. What is worth it for me is that you actually learn the Bible. You actually learn to be a better believer, a better Christian. have a better walk, a better lifestyle that you begin to hear the voice of God as you go into the scripture. The Bible is very powerful when you know what you're looking for and when you know what you're doing. Okay. All right. And I'm going to be back on, potentially be back on later tonight for a totally different live stream. But I want to make some announcements. I hope
56 you've been blessed by this Bible study. We're going to be back again tomorrow. Same time, I'm gonna see you at the same time. For our Build 433 Church raise, we are, okay, so we already decided that we're doing this every day, okay? So everybody said every day, so that's what we're gonna do. So Build 433 Church, we have raised about $1,140. We're believing in God for more. As the Lord touches you, I want to invite you, I want to invite you into this opportunity for giving. Yesterday, the message was bordered around, centered around the storehouse offering. Make sure you check it out on Great Grace TV. It's called His Hand is on My Obedience. Towards our van, we've raised about
44 4,800. We're almost at $5,000. Somebody give today. Let's push this up. It is my hope, my prayer that on every live stream, on every time we come, on every day, whether we're live or not, that when we give an announcement on where we're at with the funds, with the finances, there's something more in there. Make sure you watch that sermon actually. It's really good. Some really great notes for you and for your family, especially when it has to do with finances, kingdom finances and finances in your homes, okay? And lastly, for the Defend the Faith and Free Speech raise, we are at 4,300 out of $50,000. All right, let's make that $5,000 tonight. Let's make that $5,000 right
31 now. Heck, let's make it 10,000, okay? As God touches you, I want you to partner with us in all of these things, okay? Truth will prevail. God is on the throne. I can't wait to be back with you. The link to the Defend the Faith is givesendgold.com slash exposing occultism. The link to the van is givesendgold.com slash 433van.
