We often hear about scary stories that happen on travel roads, and unfortunately, most of these stories are real and did actually happen. When you’re driving on a dark, almost deserted road, you never know what you might encounter
1:40 especially if you unintentionally trespass on someone’s property. By "someone," I mean jinn, ghosts, or shadows that some travelers claim to see. Some even meet people they think are human, not realizing that there’s a good chance they’re not— they could be jinn. This might have even happened to someone you know. These kinds of stories always give me chills because of how real they seem. Today’s story is similar to these tales. It happened in Jordan, and while some believe it’s just a legend, others insist it’s real. Many who think it’s true swear they’ve seen it with their own eyes: a jinn woman in white who appears in the middle of the night, terrifying travelers. What’s the story of this jinn woman? And what about the video you saw at the beginning? Let’s follow the events from the start.
2:27 In Jordan, specifically in a place called Al-Ramtha, a city in northern Jordan there have been many rumors about a dark road. People strongly advise against traveling on it at night, especially after midnight, because you might encounter something you won’t like. While researching this topic, I came across a video discussing the Al-Ramtha road. It’s considered one of the most dangerous roads in Jordan due to its lack of lighting there are no streetlights at all. During winter, it sometimes experiences landslides, which makes it even riskier. I believe this might be the road rumored to be haunted by the jinn woman. Because those who’ve talked about her describe a dark and dangerous road where she appears at night so everything proves this is the road they're referring to. They’ve described the jinn woman as a very old woman so old that her back is hunched, and hunched in a terrifying way. Her black hair hangs over her face, and she’s always seen wearing a white dress.
3:15 It’s said that anyone who sees her is naturally overcome with fear. As soon as she notices someone has spotted her, she starts chasing them in a frightening manner. According to the stories, this jinn has been part of numerous incidents over the years, with details varying from one story to another. Today, I’m here to share all the versions of these tales, from the most recent to the oldest. The first story takes us back to 2005, specifically in June, in the city of Irbid. One day, there was a wedding in one of the banquet halls. Everything was going perfectly, and everyone was having a great time the atmosphere was just like any other wedding. As usual, wedding celebration continued late into the night, and on this particular day, they celebrated until after midnight.
4:02 After the wedding ended, the guests gradually began leaving for their homes. Except for the bride and groom, who stayed behind, waiting for the car that would take them back to their area in Al-Ramtha. Indeed, when the car finally arrived, the newlyweds got in and started heading home. As they passed through the dangerous Al-Ramtha road I mentioned earlier, something sudden and unexpected happened, a severe accident. The car overturned and fell into a valley. Sadly, the bride didn’t survive, but the groom and the driver managed to escape with serious injuries. Since that tragic incident, it’s said that anyone passing through that spot on the road can see the bride but in a terrifying form, as an old woman with a frightening face. And most of the people who encounter her are unable to escape, and they end up dying. This has been blamed for many unexplained accidents on that road,
4:47 because all these incidents keep happening for no apparent reason. It’s also said that even if someone manages to escape that jinn woman, they’ll either die shortly afterward or their life will take a turn for the worse. As I mentioned earlier, there are several stories about this jinn, and the accounts vary. Now let’s move on to the second story, which is considered older. This tale dates back to 1960. The tale says that a girl from Al-Ramtha fell in love with her neighbor, and over the years, their relationship grew stronger. Eventually, after they became closer, they decided to get married. The man was honorable and approached her family to propose. Her family had no objections and immediately agreed, and the two got married. But one person was completely against the marriage and did everything in his power to stop it. That person was the girl’s brother.
5:33 Her brother absolutely rejected the man, he didn't want him even though there was no apparent conflict or issue between them. He simply didn’t want the marriage to happen. Despite his objections, the man was determined to marry the girl, and she was equally insistent on marrying him, and all of her family approved it. As the wedding got closer, throughout this time, the brother kept trying to sabotage the marriage, to stop it from happening. But despite all his efforts, the brother’s attempts to stop the marriage failed. Especially because, as I mentioned, the man wanted the girl, the girl wanted the man, and the family was fully supportive and understanding. The brother continued trying to sabotage the marriage until the day of the wedding. On that day, his anger and frustration reached their peak. In a fit of rage, he grabbed a gun and decided to end the groom’s life. When he raised the gun and aimed to shoot the groom, the bullet accidentally hit his sister instead. She immediately fell to the ground and died on the spot.
6:19 Since that tragic incident, the name Jinn of Al-Ramtha started to emerge who dressed in white, like a bride. This story claims that her appearance as a jinn originated from this event. However, in this story, it's mentioned that she's a spirit—meaning a ghost. In Islam, we don't believe in ghosts as spirits of the dead. We believe in the existence of jinn, but they're not ghosts. The term "ghost" here refers to the soul of a dead person, and we don't believe in that. And if such an entity exists, it is likely a jinn and not a human spirit. There’s also a logical explanation that I will share with you at the end of the video. As for the third story, it’s considered the oldest and many elders in Jordan believe it and have passed it down over generations. This story dates back to Roman times. At that time, it’s said that there was a man named Deacon Marcus. Marcus fell deeply in love with a girl who became the center of his life. He paid attention to every detail about her, we could say he knew everything about her life.
7:07 And, in a short time, Marcus decided to propose and marry her. Indeed, Marcus proposed to her, but he was shocked when she rejected him. So, who was this Deacon? Deacon was known as a sorcerer and magician, highly skilled in his craft. He was famous for his abilities, and everyone in the area knew about his reputation. The girl he loved was from the same region, and when he proposed to her, she immediately rejected him without a second thought. However, Deacon couldn’t forget her. He kept watching her and holding onto his feelings until one day he was hit with another shock: the girl he loved had married her cousin. This filled Deacon with jealousy and resentment. He couldn’t bear the thought of her being with someone else, so he decided to take revenge in his own twisted way. His plan was to use magic to ruin her life. He cast a spell on her, summoning demons to torment her.
7:53 Eventually, these demons and jinn kidnapped her and took her to the Al-Ramtha road, where they killed her. Many people have sworn they’ve seen her on this road at night. Some residents living near the area have claimed to see her multiple times, not just once. Stories about her have spread widely, but like most horror tales, there’s no solid evidence no tangible proof or convincing documentation. No one has come forward with undeniable experiences, like capturing an event on video, to prove that such encounters actually happened. However, in 2009, things changed. That year, a terrifying video surfaced and spread widely on social media. The story behind this video was truly tragic. According to the account, two young men were driving from Irbid to Al-Ramtha.
8:40 On their way, they passed through Wadi Al-Shallalah, a dark area, as I mentioned earlier, and the time was after midnight. One of the young men noticed something that looked like a person. He told his friend, “Wait, let’s get closer; this is a deserted area, and someone might need help.” As they got closer, they initially thought it was indeed a human. But as they approached further, they realized it was an old woman wearing white, walking toward them in a strange manner. She started screaming in a terrifying voice. One of the young men immediately took out his phone and began recording her.
9:27 According to the website Al-Madenah News, the car started reversing, but unfortunately, it slipped and fell into the valley. Tragically, both young men lost their lives, and no one knows what exactly they encountered or what they recorded. When authorities recovered their belongings, they found the phone with the video still on it. The last thing they filmed was the old woman. To be honest with you, this video is genuinely frightening especially watching it alone at night, with the young men’s terrified voices clearly audible, only makes it scarier. But upon digging deeper into the video and its source, I found that the same video exists on social media with different audio tracks and in various languages. Even in the Arab world, it has been shared in different dialects. This revealed that the video was originally filmed in a non-Arab location, and people were adding their own voices, pretending they were the ones who recorded it. The version I showed you earlier was the Jordanian version, but it’s also possible that the real video was actually filmed in Jordan,
10:16 then spread globally, and the audio was altered. Both scenarios are plausible, but we still don’t know whether the original video was Arab or foreign. Opinions on social media are divided. Some believe the video is real, and that the young men who filmed it in Jordan did indeed lose their lives. Others claim it’s just staged. A third group argues that the video might be real but was a prank gone wrong. They suggest the driver had planned with someone to scare the passenger, but the prank tragically resulted in the car falling into the valley because they weren't paying attention. Honestly, I don’t know what the truth is. That’s why I leave it to you to think and analyze for yourselves. Some people claim that numerous traffic accidents have been recorded in this area. Bushra and Wadi Al-Shallalah in Al-Ramtha and that many fatalities occurred without anyone knowing the cause of these accidents. Logically speaking, since we mentioned that the road lacks lighting and runs alongside a valley,
11:04 it’s natural for such accidents to happen. But what do you think about discussing cases of people who experienced similar accidents but survived? Let’s talk about incidents where people reported seeing jinn on travel roads. Now, we’ll shift from Jordan to Saudi Arabia, specifically to a road called Sharurah in Najran. Many stories and rumors have spread about the terrifying phenomena on this road, where a frightening entity is said to appear in the middle of the night and cause fatal accidents. One survivor of these incidents recounted their experience. They said, “I was driving very fast on this road because it’s a highway.” Another survivor shared, “I was driving at a moderate speed when I saw this creature. Its appearance was extremely terrifying, and because of it, I crashed and my car overturned. I ended up in the hospital.” There wasn’t just one witness. On the same road, a car carrying a family heading to Najran passed by.
11:50 They were driving fast, as it was a highway. Suddenly, the driver saw a woman standing on the roadside. According to his description, she looked terrifying. Just seconds later, when he glanced to his side, he saw the same woman sitting in the passenger seat next to him. Shocked, he lost control of the car, causing it to crash and flip several times. The driver survived, but unfortunately, he lost one of his family members. He says to this day, he can’t forget that moment or the terrifying face of the woman. Sheikh Mohammed Fahid Al-Subaie, a spiritual healer in Sharurah, mentioned that he’s treated many victims of similar accidents who encountered that jinn woman on the highway. He said that when he recited Qur’an verses over the injured, even in the hospital, the jinn possessing them would speak. The jinn admitted to possessing the victims after seeing them on that road,
12:37 that the jinn saw them on that the road and haunted them causing the accident. The Sheikh also noted that similar accidents have occurred in the same area to different people. The Sheikh also recounted a time when he was reading Qur’an over a man who had an accident on this road, when he was with his wife. The incident happened during the Maghrib call to prayer, during Ramadan. Tragically, the man’s wife passed away at the scene. What was strange, the Sheikh said, was that the location of the accident matched the spot where the jinni woman had previously appeared. The Sheikh also mentioned another recurring story. Travelers on this road often reported seeing a broken-down GMC vehicle. One passerby stopped to check and found two men with dark skin sitting inside. He asked why they were there, and they explained that their car had broken down and they needed water. However, the strange part is that every time the GMC was reported,
13:25 when the police arrived at the location, neither the car nor the men were anywhere to be found. This happened repeatedly, with travelers even noting the vehicle’s license plate, yet every time the car would vanish without a trace not knowing what was its situation. To this day, no one knows the secret of this particular area. The Sheikh concluded by saying that when traveling on highways or passing by abandoned places or houses, it’s not unusual to encounter such things at any moment. Referring back to the story of the Bride of Ramtha one comment caught my attention. This person suggested that some of the stories about the Bride of Ramtha might be true, like the tale of the young man who killed his sister on her wedding day. Many people believe this event actually happened. But what people claim to have seen might not necessarily be jinn, as some believe. Instead, it could be individuals exploiting the legend of the Bride of Ramtha
14:11 to scare people and have fun. Or it could be bandits who managed to fake this character, since many people are convinced it exists and are pursuing a specific goal. This was one person's opinion, and it seems logical. But there’s no definitive proof to support it. This brings us to an important question: If it was real, can humans see jinn? If so, would we see them in their true form or in another shape? Scholars have debated this topic extensively. The majority agree that Allah has given jinn the ability to take on different forms such as humans or animals, which allows humans to see them in those shapes. As for seeing jinn in their original form, the consensus among most scholars is that humans cannot see jinn in their original form. Let’s not forget that the area we’ve been discussing is a dark road.
14:58 By nature, jinn tend to reside in dark, uninhabited places, or as we call them, deserted areas. That’s why it’s recommended for travelers on such roads or in empty places to mention Allah’s name and say it. Many of us have heard stories from people we personally know about strange encounters on highways. It’s often unclear whether what they faced were humans or jinn. Perhaps some of you have experienced something similar. One of the well-known stories about encountering jinn on a highway involves a man traveling late at night. He saw someone in the middle of the road who seemed lost. But, according to the man, the person looked a bit strange, kind of terrifying, with red-tinged eyes that were unsettling. The man said he felt uneasy about him and decided to keep driving. Later, after covering quite a distance, his car needed fuel. He found a gas station and stopped.
15:45 To his shock, the same person he had seen on the road was now at the station. The man explained that the figure he saw earlier was on foot, walking. Yet somehow, both he and that person arrived at the gas station at the same time even though the station was far from where he first saw him. He said, “When our eyes met again, I noticed he was walking toward me in a strange, unsettling way.” His gait was odd and terrifying. At that moment, the man decided for the second time to jump back in his car and drive away as fast as he could. By the way, the chances of encountering another human on an isolated highway are far lower than the likelihood of encountering a jinn. In such places, it’s more probable to meet a jinn than a human. But what would you do if you were on a highway and came across a woman who seemed lost, crying, and asking for help? Would you help her, or follow your instincts and ignore her? This was exactly the dilemma faced by a man who decided to take his wife on a road trip to California.
16:31 On that day, the couple started their journey in the morning, driving leisurely. However, most of their trip ended up being in the dark because the drive took several hours not including their breaks. They stopped twice for food. The first break was after about three hours. The second, however, was much later in the night, which is the one that we're gonna talk about. Around 12:30 a.m., they pulled over at a restaurant called Wendy’s. They grabbed their food and headed back to the car. The husband was eating while driving, which annoyed his wife a little. He was focused on getting to their destination quickly because the journey was so long. Suddenly, it started raining heavily. His wife insisted that he pull over so he could finish his food safely and wait for the rain to ease up. Reluctantly, he agreed, and that’s what they did. Once he finished eating and decided to start driving again, they heard a knocking sound on the car window. At first, they thought it was just the rain. But then, his wife screamed.
17:20 She was pointing at something outside the car, but she was screaming and her words were incoherent. The husband couldn’t make out what she was trying to say. The rain was loud, and her panicked screaming didn’t help. Confused, he decided to open the car door to see what was going on. That’s when he was surprised to see her a woman standing outside in the rain, soaked, shivering, and clearly terrified. She was pleading for help. Feeling it would be wrong to leave her in such a state, the husband told her, “Get in the car.” However, his wife gave him a suspicious look, as if questioning why he’d let her in. It seemed like she thought this wasn’t necessary, Honestly, in situations like this, I don’t understand how someone could think that way. It’s about helping someone in need, not jealousy. Help the girl, then move on—end of story. However, the man let the girl into the car despite his wife’s evident discomfort. He asked her, “Where are you headed?” but the girl didn’t respond. His wife continued to glare at both of them, but he couldn’t figure out what was on her mind. Thinking the girl might not have heard him, he turned to look at her in the back seat. To his shock, she was staring at him with an unsettling, almost menacing look,
18:07 far from peaceful. Startled, he repeated his question, but again, she didn’t answer. She just shrugged, as if to say, “I don’t know.” The man turned to his wife and said, “We need to drop her off at the next town we pass.” He made sure to say it loud enough for the girl to hear, that they are dropping her off at the next town. But as soon as they started driving, a terrifying scream erupted from the back seat. It was a scream so chilling and loud, it was almost unbearable coming out of the stranger girl in the backseat. Then out of a sudden, the girl lunged forward, grabbing the husband and wrapping her hands tightly around his neck, trying to strangle him. Panicking, he slammed on the brakes and swerved the car to the right. Struggling to breathe, he tried to fight her off, desperately gasping for air. At that moment, the wife quickly intervened and managed to pull the girl off her husband. However, the girl’s screaming intensified, becoming even sharper and more piercing. The man managed to bring the car to a complete stop, got out, and forcefully dragged the girl out of the car, throwing her onto the roadside.
18:53 The girl began crying and pleading, saying, “Please, help me!” But this time, the man ignored her, got back in the car, and drove off. As soon as they left, his wife called the police, reporting what happened with them, giving them the location, and emphasized that the girl’s behavior wasn’t normal at all. After that terrifying encounter, the couple didn’t stop at any rest area until they reached their destination safely. They admitted it was a terrifying experience they would rather forget.
