08 Hello Everyone, my name is Tasawar Aijaz. And welcome to the 13th video of the 3D animation course by 3DXMentor. In the last video, I told you about Blender’s Object Mode and Edit Mode. And I also explained what Vertex, Edge, and Face are in Blender. While creating the basic shape of a smartphone, I also told you that Edit Mode provides us with full control. From today's video, you will take your first step in the journey of creating 3D models. You will learn to create your first 3D model. First of all, let me tell you this: If I start explaining 3D modeling commands on a cube, Like, look, this is a cube, this is how we inset, this is how we extrude, Then, in this 3D animation course, you will get bored by looking at a cube again and again.

55 And even after understanding the commands, You won’t be able to use them properly. So that you don’t get bored in this 3D animation course, From today, we will start creating 3D models practically. And while creating 3D models, I will explain the commands to you step by step. By doing this, your 3D model will also be ready, And you will also understand new commands. That’s why, in today’s video, you will learn how to create a table. And while making the table, I will explain the Loop Cut command. And I will also explain the Extrude command. So from today, start noting down these ready-to-use commands. To create the 3D model of a table, First, I pressed Control + S. From here, I clicked on Desktop. Then, I right-clicked here. And by clicking on New Folder, I created a new folder.

44 I named the folder "Table 1" and pressed Enter. By double-clicking on this folder, I opened it. And here, I named the Blender file "Table 1." After that, I clicked on the save Blender file here. Now, by holding Shift, I selected the Camera and Light. And pressed Delete to remove them. Then, I clicked on the Cube to select it. Pressed Tab to enter Edit Mode. Pressed NumPad 7 to go to the Top Orthographic View. Then, I pressed S, then X, then NumPad 2 to scale it on the X-axis. After that, I pressed NumPad 1 to go to the Front Orthographic View. And pressed S, then Z, to make it as thin as a wooden table.

29 After that, I zoomed in to get closer. And by activating the Move gizmo, I moved it up on the Z-axis. Pressed NumPad 7 to go to the Top Orthographic View. Clicked on the side to deselect everything. Then, to add a Loop Cut, I pressed Control + R on the keyboard. When I moved the mouse here, I saw a line appearing. This is the Loop Cut. When I saw this line, I clicked the Left Mouse Button once, and the Loop Cut was added. Now, if I move the mouse, Blender asks me where to position this Loop Cut. I need to add this Loop Cut exactly in the center of the table, So I Right-Clicked to cancel the action, So that Blender places it exactly in the center.

16 Then, I clicked on the side to deselect everything. This Loop Cut was added horizontally. Now, I need to add another Loop Cut vertically. So again, I pressed Control + R on the keyboard. Moved the mouse here and clicked once. Then, I Right-Clicked. So my Loop Cut was also added vertically. Then, I pressed the number 2 on the keyboard to enter Edge Select Mode. Double-clicked on this Loop Cut to select it. Pressed Control + B on the keyboard. And beveled this Loop Cut slightly. Clicked the Left Mouse Button to confirm the bevel. Again, clicked in the 3D viewport to deselect everything. Then, I double-clicked on this horizontal Loop Cut to select it.

03 Pressed Control + B, moved the mouse to bevel it slightly. And clicked the Left Mouse Button to confirm the action. After that, I clicked in the 3D viewport to deselect everything. Pressed NumPad 1 to enter the Front Orthographic View. Pressed Alt + Left Mouse Button to rotate the 3D viewport. Pressed 3 to enter Face Select Mode. Rotated and moved slightly. And held Shift to select these four bottom faces together. Pressed NumPad 1 to enter the Front Orthographic View. Pressed E on the keyboard and moved the mouse downward. And extruded the table legs up to here. Then, I pressed the Left Mouse Button.

48 So the table legs were extruded. Clicked in the 3D viewport to deselect everything. Pressed Alt and rotated the 3D viewport. Now, you can see that our table is ready. Pressed Tab to go to Object Mode. Rotated the 3D viewport and checked that our basic table is ready. But the edges of any table are never 100% sharp. So I selected this table. And clicked on this Modifier icon here. Here, we have the "Add Modifier" option. Clicked on it. Went to the Generate section and clicked on "Bevel Modifier." Clicked on the Segments value. Pressed NumPad 3 and Enter. And set the Segments value to 3. Then, clicked on the Amount value here.

35 Typed 0.01 and pressed Enter, Which means I set the Amount value to 0.01. Right-clicked on the table and clicked on "Shade Smooth by Angle." Went to the Shading option and turned on "Harden Normals." Now, you can see in the 3D viewport That our table is ready. And its edges are not sharp anymore. After that, I pressed Control + S on the keyboard. And saved this project. Closed Blender from here. Then, I opened the "Table 1" folder on the Desktop. Inside this folder, you can see The Blender file named "Table 1." Double-clicked on it, and my table file opened. You can also download this "Table 1" folder from the link provided in the description.

25 In today's video, you learned How to create a table from a basic Cube shape. I taught you how to add a Loop Cut, Whose shortcut key is Control + R. I taught you how to Bevel a Loop Cut, Whose shortcut key is Control + B. I showed you how to Extrude Faces to make table legs, And the shortcut key for Extrude was E. Your exercise is That you have to create the same table by yourself. And once you can create this table 100%, Then move to the next. In the next video, we will continue with this table Blender file, Learn how to create chairs, And I will also explain some important concepts That you should now be aware of.
