NEETPG 2024 AIR 202 - Dr Vibin’s NEETPG Journey from 61K to 202 Rank | Topper’s Talk

Brief Summary

This YouTube video features a conversation between Dr. Deepak Aanjna and Dr. Vibin, who shares his journey of NEET PG preparation, strategies, and experiences. Vibin discusses his initial struggles, how he balanced work with studies, his approach to revision, GT scores, and how he finally achieved a good rank. He also answers questions from the audience, providing valuable tips and insights for NEET PG aspirants.

  • Vibin started his preparation after working for two years due to financial constraints.
  • He focused on revision videos and annotated notes.
  • He emphasizes that GT scores don't always reflect the final exam performance.
  • Consistency and managing anxiety are key to success.

Introduction and Background

Dr. Deepak welcomes Dr. Vibin to the discussion. Dr. Vibin shares that he just came back from his ICU duty. Dr. Deepak acknowledges Vibin's impressive work during his NEET PG preparation. Vibin completed his internship in 2021 and worked for two years before starting his NEET PG preparation due to financial reasons. He prepared for exactly one year, with an additional three to four months due to exam postponements. In his first attempt, he secured a rank of 61,000 without serious preparation due to his job.

Starting NEET PG Preparation

After getting 61,000 rank, Vibin decided to give it his all. He quit his job and took a GT (Grand Test) to assess his baseline, which he admits was "devastating." He then created a detailed one-year plan, anticipating the exam to be in January 2024, and followed it until May-June 2023. Vibin mentions that he was an average student and was confused about where to start his preparation.

Sources and Study Material

Vibin mentions that he has a dedicated YouTube video detailing the exact sources he followed for each subject. He primarily focused on revision videos rather than main videos because he started his preparation late. He believes that revision videos are sufficient even for freshers and that one can understand everything from them. He used different platforms, sharing resources with friends.

Revision Strategy and GT Scores

Vibin shares his experience with GT scores, which initially remained stagnant between 300 and 400 from May/June to December/January. He consulted many people and was anxious about his scores not improving. He emphasizes that GT scores don't necessarily reflect the actual NEET PG exam performance. In his last mock exam before NEET PG, he scored less than 500. He stresses that GTs are learning tools and that the goal is to avoid repeating the same mistakes in subsequent GTs.

Improving GT Scores and Daily Question Solving

Vibin explains that he used to take GTs on Sunday mornings and review them on the same day, adding extra points to his notes. He maintained one set of annotated notes. Initially, he solved around 50 questions daily during his first reading, gradually increasing it to 100-150 during revisions, and finally 300-400 in the last month before the exam. He used Marrow as his question bank and focused on recent NEET, FMG, INICET, and clinical questions.

Recall Errors and Revision Planning

Vibin discusses the issue of recall errors in GTs and suggests reviewing questions that a significant percentage (over 30%) of people get right. For the last 50 days before the exam, he recommends dividing the time into three revisions: 25 days for the first, 12.5-13 days for the second, and the remaining days for the third revision.

Daily Routine and Consistency

Vibin highlights the importance of consistency and suggests writing down daily and weekly plans to stay on track. He used to study for 10-12 hours on average, increasing to 14 hours in the last one to two months. He would wake up at 6:00 AM and study until 11:00 PM. He clarifies that his study hours were based on his personal learning speed and may not be the same for everyone.

Audience Q&A - GT Scores and Revision

An audience member asks about improving GT scores, which are currently below 100. Vibin advises reviewing GTs thoroughly and noting topics where mistakes are frequently made. He suggests dedicating a specific time frame for GT review to ensure it gets done. Another question asks about whether to start revision with PYQs or notes directly. Vibin suggests reading notes in the first revision and then doing questions retrospectively in the second and third revisions.

Audience Q&A - Medsynapse Notes and Overcoming Fear

An audience member asks about overcoming the fear of missing out on BTR (Bhatia Test Series) content when using Medsynapse notes. Vibin assures that both platforms have similar content, with the main difference being the delivery style. He suggests watching videos from both platforms to see which suits the individual best.

Audience Q&A - Stopping GTs and Last 10 Days Revision Plan

Vibin mentions that he stopped giving GTs in the last two weeks before the exam due to time constraints with his revision. He refers the audience to his Instagram for his last 10 days revision plan.

Audience Q&A - Test and Discussion Videos and Three-Digit Rank

Vibin shares that he watched a few DND (Discussion and Doubt clearing) videos but didn't delve deeply into them. He suggests skipping them if they are too time-consuming and focusing on MCQs if one knows how to approach questions and manage time. He admits that he never thought about getting a three-digit rank and was shocked by his result.

Audience Q&A - Consistency and Slow Learning

Vibin suggests changing the mode of learning when feeling sleepy, such as switching from reading notes to solving MCQs. He acknowledges being a slow learner and advises that even if one feels like they are not remembering things, the information is stored in the subconscious mind and will come to them during the exam.

Audience Q&A - Weak Subjects and DNB Aspirants

Vibin identifies anatomy and PSM as his weak subjects. He used Dr. Ashwani Kumar's revision videos for anatomy and First Aid and Ladder for biochemistry. He addresses a question from a DNB anesthesia resident who left due to personal reasons and is now preparing for surgery. Vibin believes that achieving a rank under 10k in 50 days is possible if the concepts are already strong.

Audience Q&A - Revising Marrow Notes and New Platforms

Vibin advises against starting with a new platform in the last 50 days and suggests sticking to one's own annotated notes. He recommends practicing MCQs and learning retrospectively by referring back to the notes when doing questions.

Audience Q&A - Differentiator in Preparation and Clutter Zone

Vibin credits Medsynapse for helping him improve his GT scores, particularly due to the concise version and pneumonics provided by Dr. Nikita Nanwani. He recommends clubbing Medsynapse and revision videos together into the same notes.

Audience Q&A - Untouched Topics and Custom Modules

Vibin suggests skipping less frequently asked topics and focusing on revising important topics. He admits that he didn't read his bookmarks and suggests reviewing questions where mistakes were made during GTs and writing down the concepts in notes.

Audience Q&A - Anxiety and Time Management

Vibin advises finishing each slot of questions within the allotted time and ensuring five minutes extra per slot. He didn't mark questions for review to avoid time constraints.

Residency Experience

Vibin shares that his radio diagnosis residency is hectic with frequent night postings, contrary to the common perception of it being relaxed. He concludes by thanking Dr. Deepak and the audience for joining the session.

0:04 Hello. Am I audible? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You are audible. The thing is I tried using a new microphone and for some reason I can't hear anything. I can I can understand this. It's take a time to if if my audio is fine now. I have just uh took off the mic and I'm just using it now. No, no, it'sable. It's whatable. There is no issue. So, I was doing residency. Yeah. It's like just now I just came back from my ICU right now because I had this thing I I escaped the ICU. Yeah. Okay. So, first of all, thank you so much for joining and uh those who don't know uh me and we both knew each other

0:51 from last one and one and a half year pros. Yeah. Right. Yeah. and uh was doing amazing work and uh did amazing uh work during this depression like from last 61,000 to 202 is such an amazing ring and uh in today's discussion we we will discuss that how you did that. So uh let's start. So thank you so much for joining Vin. Thank you. Thank you Debbuk. Yeah. So uh can you please tell the brief about you like how you started your preparation after internship? I guess you were working somewhere as a medical officer. Yeah. Then how the journey started? Yeah, sure. So, uh my name is Dr. Vibin. Most of you might be knowing me already and I'm from 2015

1:37 batch MBBS. Actually, I completed my internship in 2021. After that, I I was working in a PhD actually a UPSC. I think Dr. Dbuk was also working in a UPSC I guess right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I I too was working under NSM for like two years. I work because of some financial issues were there. So I could not just directly as usually everybody will be directly entering into preparation phase just after internship but I could not do that. So after two years of work I was completely out from the academic field and then all of a sudden I started preparation for NEPG like I prepared for exactly one year and due to the postponement thing almost like three or four months extra was there. Okay. Like in your in first attempt you got around

2:23 51,000 right? 61,000 61 61,000 yeah how was the preparation that time like that was not actually I did not prepare like honestly telling I did not prepare like seriously for that exam actually I was working now so no off yeah so with working and academics is not it was not possible actually that's the same so when you got that 61,000 ring then you thought that okay let's give now full and final attempt right how you started that preparation like did you give any GT or like baseline GT or something like that how you started preparation after that. Yeah. Yeah. So the thing is like when I was working uh I was like completely out of academics. I had not studied for need PG or entrance exam during my previous time also. I was like just an average student just going on

3:09 with the dailies that's it and after that like one year I decided like I have to prepare for this exam. So I quit my job and first of all as Dr. Debbuk said I just gave a GT and it was devastating only. So I'm not revealing the scores anyway. It is it was pretty bad which I expected actually. Anyway, I just gave it for the sake of giving a GT and then what I did was make an entire plan for one year. That time the exam was uh scheduled to be in Jan uh Jan 2024. So I had prepared an exam uh schedule in anticipation that the exam will be in Jan 24 and and I started following that time table and it continued till August preparation in July.

3:54 Yeah it was around not July actually around uh May June something like that. Okay May June 23. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Okay. So then how it's went like how you started the source and everything? Yeah. So actually like most of the uh average students I was like confused like what to do I don't know what to read also like there are lot of options available. So what uh if I start telling about sources it will be like too vast anyway I can just telling basics there's no issue there we can cover like main parts. Yeah like am I allowed to tell the platform? Yeah yeah feel free feel free feel free. Actually I have done a dedicated video in YouTube for all the exact what all sources I followed for each subject and all. If somebody want to know that they

4:42 can YouTube yeah it is there. Anyway I'll just so what I did mainly was doing the revision videos only. That is one thing that I wanted to tell everyone like I have not focused on main videos. One thing is I started my preparation very late. I just had like uh roughly one year. So I if I had started with my main videos I would definitely have not ended my preparation. So I started my preparation directly with the revision notes and personally what I feel is like even though we are a fresher into new need entrance preparation even if you watch the revision videos that is more than enough you will understand everything A to Z everything you will be able to understand and if at all you want to get a little bit more concept only then that I don't feel like I did not I did not feel the need of watching

5:28 main video for any subject actually everything what I watched was revision videos and as many You might be knowing I watched for different subjects. I had used uh different platforms. Actually I had my friends having almost all the platforms. So I shared with them and watched the videos from them and notes also I got from them. So like that uh uh that is what I did mainly the revision videos was the main results. Okay. And like you completed your first reading then started your revision like how how did you plan your revision and uh like you have uh like nowadays now there appro 50 days for exam and majority of students are struggling with GT score. So how how your GT score journey started and how it's went up and how did you struggle in between? Yeah. Yeah. That is

6:13 one thing that I personally had to have that experience to understand that I'll tell you how. Anyway when the GT was there it started off like a very bad score and slowly it increased and it stood like that like it was around 300 to 400 only like I started my preparation in May June until December Jan the scores are almost the same only and a little bit improved but uh I had this tension and anxiety that everybody had like why is my GT score getting stuck and I had consulted 10 corrects what approves 100 to 110 corrects Yeah. Yeah. Right. Right. Okay. That was the that was like the situation for me for many months actually and I was like like everybody used to get anxious. I was also anxious. Why is I'm not going to

7:00 get a good score in PG? That was my that is my thought at that time. But the thing is don't take the GT as in what it will not be the same like NEPG exam like what I what happened to me is that I in the last mock exam of NEITP PG uh what I got a score of around average less than 500 something only I got the score I it was not a very high fivei score for me in the GT exam before NITPG yeah prior to NETPG the mock exam that's what I'm telling it was before how many how many days before uh I can't remember exactly I think it is like one month one month one month I think yeah the GT score does not refct yeah that is what I wanted to emphasize

7:46 here is that the GT score does not reflect your real you don't have to be in that thought that I'm not having a good GT score so my result is also so there are so many I'm also giving and like today only I given I'm from that morning I'm not in mood but we we have session already planned. So like there are so many extra topics are there in GT like we we we sometime we judge ourselves that we are like we are studying 10 hour 12 hour 13 hour and then also we are not getting the correct whatever we desire those correct but there are so many extra topics in GTS and we can we cannot cover them. Yeah. Yeah. Right. So the thing is uh the main platforms like Maro cut ladder all those people how they are making GTS is that they are not making GTS to not Yeah.

8:33 Assessment is there but apart from assessment that is like a learning tool actually like we we might be reading something from main videos we will be doing some questions of PIQS then when we are doing GT what we are doing that some extra points here and there which we are not touching upon those things are being giving given priority there and those things we are learning so the main thing that we have to learn by doing GTS is that we should not be making the same mistake again in the next upcoming GTS that is the main thing that we should take from GTS. So like what like uh how your GT is score improved and how what you did. Yeah. The thing is what I used to do is like like suppose I give a GT the I usually used to give GTS on Sunday. So early morning

9:18 Sunday I I will not be giving any live GTs because live GT we won't be able to get the answer key on the same day now. So I'll be taking some random GTs on Sunday early morning. I'll be finishing it up and then I'll be reviewing the entire GT on the same day itself. I'll not be keeping it for the next day. So what all the wrong ones I will be reviewing and something extra if I find any point I'll just write it down into my notes itself. Okay. In main notes only what your notes. Yeah. One I just had one set of notes that most of you might be knowing my annotated notes and into that itself I used to add the points which I feel is important. Okay. Okay. And uh like how how how many questions per daily you usually you solve? Yeah. That is another thing like in my first trade and all while I was

10:04 doing my first trade I used to solve around 50 questions. That was the average. Then when I started doing revisions it slowly slowly improved like I increased it to 100 150 and uh in the last one month prior to exam I used to do like around 300 to 400 MCQs per day. It is like we might be feeling we might be thinking it is overwhelming but the thing is we have been already doing these questions again and again. So we we will not be taking that much of time to like you used right for cubink. Yeah. Yeah. Maro was the source. What do you think? What take do you use in those 300 400 question? Which type of question do you use? So tax I used to do the recent need uh recent FMG and IMT and also the clinical tag clinical tag is only. Okay.

10:50 Okay. Okay. And uh like but because after so one one month or two month it will be like majority repeated question only. Now then yeah but I would say even though it is getting repeated we will be still making the mistakes only. Oh yeah. Yeah. Yes. So that will be there but that is why we the thing is many many of the questions which are getting in in the exam is actually py it is pts only like previous year topic not the question same question so even though we are we know the thing we should read the explanation part of those questions that is why we are doing it okay and the main problem in GT is like majority are getting I'm also facing recall error like there are so many recall errors like how to minimize the recall error if you read three time three time four Then even some basic things also we can

11:36 forget in GTS. Yeah, that will be there. Like another thing is that uh when we are reviewing the GTS now like we see how many percentage of people are getting it right. That is one thing that Dr. Nikita madam has also told me personally that we have to only review those questions like which are people are getting like more than 30 percentage of people are making if more than 30% of people are making a question right that means that question is important otherwise you can just skip it. It is not that relevant. Okay. Okay. Okay. Got it. Okay. And like what what do you think now? We approached 50 days. So how should one plan their revision? Yeah. So now exactly 54 days is the exact timeline to June 15th. Like so yeah. So now how I did like I'm like trying to recall like 50 days prior how I was like

12:22 I had this problem of we did not have the exact dates. No, it was keeping on changing. So what I would suggest is that now we have 50 days. uh we should divide it into like uh 25 days for one revision and again another 25 days is there we will divide it again into around like 12.5 13 days for second revision and the remaining days for a third revision that at least three revision should be there. Yeah. And uh like uh how how is your day like how how you used to plan your day one night before and how how was your day look like? Yeah. These are the things Dr. Deepak is asking very relevant questions because these things are needed for the consistency. Yeah, the consistency is one thing that lacks like even though even I had that problem

13:08 of having that consistency like we will be like uh okay after hearing some motivational videos or something for three or four days we will be consistent then we will lose it slowly slowly we will lose it. So even though we know that we have to study these subjects these these many hours you have to study it will be nice if you can write it down and if you are using iPad or notebook or whatever just write it down deliberately you write it with a pen so that even though we know it we are making a note for ourselves that we should be doing this thing for the next day. So I used to prepare like uh I I had weekly plans actually like so for one next one week uh three days I'll be doing for example anatomy. So I had made a plan for that then next two days I'll be doing this subject and apart from that daily plan I

13:54 also I used to have like this many hours I'll be studying then I'll be taking a break all these things even though I know it myself I used to write it down for the sake of consistency like how how was your day look like? like you in majority days like what time you do did you wake up? My my personal how are your slots? How is like how many hours your slots and like the day? Yeah. So usually like an average I used to study like uh for around 10 to 12 hours and by the last one month one to two months I used to study for like 14 something 14 hours because of that adrenaline rush we will not get sleep. So obviously we will study but average I used to study for but let me tell you this average is my personal thing. It is not the same for everyone. I I take a lot of time to grab concepts. I'm very slow in grabbing

14:40 concepts. So I used to take a lot of time. It might not be the same thing for another person. Okay. But on an average I used to take 10 to 12 hours. I used to wake up at 6:00 and my time table is like I would wake up at 6:00 and continue till 11 something 11 p.m. That was the time. Okay. Yeah. So my questions are over now. Many your personal questions. Yeah. Guys, you can unmute yourself and you can ask your queries. Hello, sir. Good evening. Good evening. Uh sir question. It will be better if you ask in uh Hindi. Okay. English. Okay. Sorry. That will be nice. Actually, I can understand. But no, no problem. I can speak in English. Okay. Actually, I'm preparing from November. Okay. For this

15:26 exam. But the problem is that my GT score is not increasing. my GT score it's below 100 and right now also but my main motive is that I have to keep going I'm always I used to give GT but I'm just thinking I have to keep going keep going but at last we have to give exam and our GT score should improve so what should I do to improve my GT score like have you done your first grade uh sorry sir have you completed your first grade yeah I completed around three times It's not first read. Okay. So like after you do a GT like how are you review how are you reviewing it GT? Yeah I think maybe in GT reviewing actually my anard pharma

16:13 and physio these three subjects are uh weak and now uh like I made my schedule alternate days I'm doing an art pharma these subjects are weak. Yeah. So reviewing GT if it is like that is one major thing that we lack actually because we will be doing GTS and then we'll be leaving it like that because of time constraints obviously. So try to review those topics and in those questions and write down those questions which topics which are making mistakes again and again that is one thing I would suggest. Okay. U sorry before I used to do like that I made my GT notebook separately but for uh reviewing the GT it takes me a lot of time and in that time so I'm not able to revise my

16:59 subjects. So so that is what I used to do now like take just give like make your brain say that like what only you have one day for GT that that will help like I used to do that only you have that uh time frame so you have to do it in that time. Okay. So I will try that. Thank you. Anyone else? There are any questions in uh yeah in the chat box I think there are a lot of questions. How many GTs have you given total? Let me just open up. Okay. How many GTs have you given? Like that is a question that I can't remember. Anyway, I used to do GTS like once in two weeks. That was my schedule.

17:46 Okay. And uh like how to how to start a revision for a particular subject means we have to start with piqs or notes directly. Now that if you're starting the first revision obviously I used to say that everybody should do at least two to three revisions. So in the first revision obviously you will have to read the notes again because you don't know what the points are. So after that in the second and third revision obviously you have to do the questions and go retrospectively. Yeah. And uh sir at this time while practicing piqs how much how much time should we allote to custom module solving? Yeah. So that is what I was telling I think I have already answered that we have to do like u anyway we are doing in the revision phase now. So

18:31 around 100 to 200 questions you should do now and in the last month you can increase. Okay. So Sume is asking this sir since you have done made signup notes how have to overcome the form of BTR. Yeah, this question I have been getting a lot in Instagram and in Telegram. The thing is I would say honestly I would say both the content in both meds and BTR is having the same content because I have seen BTR also. I'm not exclusively learned from it but I have seen the videos and notes of BTR and Medsin both are having the same content. The main difference is how the way it is delivered to you. That is the difference like both of both Zab ma'am and Nikka ma'am are totally different way of teaching. So that is what to say

19:19 that is personal like you have to watch uh videos from both Zam and Nam and see who suits you the best that is what I would say don't have you don't have need to have that form that you will miss out something nothing is going to be you will start because both are having exactly the same content it's about their like what their choice okay I got it what about any yeah yeah um So I wanted to ask uh uh that when did you stop giving GT and started proper revision uh for the exam? Yeah. So the stopping GT I did not say about stopping GT anyway. Anyway in the last two weeks of preparation I have not done GT all that

20:05 time other every Sunday alternate Sundays I used to do GT. Last two weeks. Yeah, last two week I did not that is because I did not get time to do because my re my revision was not getting over myself. Okay. What was your uh last 10 days uh revision plan? Yeah, that last Yeah. Yeah. I have made a time table for that in my Instagram. I if uh if at all uh if you're following me you will get it in I have posted it in Instagram. Okay. like you will you will like like last 10 days and all means you will get only like one day for two subjects like that what you can go I have posted in Instagram you can see yeah yes sir

20:50 uh sir uh have you given any I mean have you attended any test and discussion uh uh videos as such um DND videos I have I I have watched a few but uh I have not like gone entirely into that like in med signups there was one this best videos were there MCQ discussion that I have watched apart from that I have not watched anything uh because other platforms have got this test and discussion videos of almost 6 hours or like each session will have almost 6 to 7 hours and then one day sitting and then it'll be like huge flow charts they'll be explaining everything in detail and almost 2 days we get super tired by evening watching test and discussion thinking that maybe we'll be missing out something so is it something like that or we skip those and focus

21:38 primarily on MCQs or do we miss out anything if we skip the testing discussion? Yeah, the thing is if you are uh what to say taking a lot of time to do TND videos, I would suggest you can skip it. If you know how to solve a question like not the academic part but how to catch the points from the questions and how to answer to the question that and the time management all those things if you are if you are with that we can skip the videos again. So uh just to say that approach it will be around uh 1 month before also score as around 500 approximity. You ever thought about getting rank in like

22:24 three digit that are around 200 approach? That is I have never even thought about getting a three digit rank. Okay. I thought I I had expected a rank of below 5,000 something but I did not expect a three digit like 200 rank. I did not expect okay what was your reaction in resulting? Yeah, that was like I don't know how to explain that reaction right now. It was shocking actually. I was I was unable to like everybody was when the results were out everybody was in telegram typing their rank and mentioning thank you all those things to all the faculties. I was literally unable to type on my mobile phone like my hands are like shivering at that time I kept my phone side and I I actually literally closed my eyes and like tried to sleep. It was very

23:11 difficult for me. You can totally understand like there are when when we prepared for exam like there are so many days where uh we like not every day is the same as a motivation now like how you pushed yourself. Yeah. Yeah. This thing a lot of people have asked me like how are how to be consistent that is the thing like one day we will be consistent next day we will be having procrastination we'll be losing that. So what I found personally is that you will suppose we are learning anatomy uh we are learning a topic from anatomy by reading the notes or watching the videos first day we read watch videos second day we read and watch videos third day after reading sometime we'll start feeling sleepy that is the thing that happens so what we can do is that when we are feeling sleepy or

23:57 something change the way of learning so what I used to do is that immediately I would take marrow I would take a custom module I would Like suppose I was learning a upper limb, I would immediately take a custom module for upper limb and I start doing MCQs. When we do a MCQ, our brain is like critically analyzing that thing. So that sleep thing, sleep parameter would go because we are concentrating on that question and we have a time limit. So all those things when come into play, we are not passively reading there. We are actively involved in a question solving. So at that time we will not be feeling sleep. We continue doing question for some time. Then when we feel that we are okay now go back to the notes and whenever we feel sleepy change the mode again into question that is what I was

24:43 doing as you said in starting that like you are a slow learner very few toers had this those things and we also believe that are studying in college only like something like that but you since you said that you have not studied for one or two year properly so as you said this you are a slow learn like majority of us also are slow we that like we are studying the same page again and again. We are just reading it. We are not grasping it like how other people are grasping it like I I have to study this page for like 10 20 minutes other people just in five minutes they will complete and they cover it. How you deal with that and how you like how you remember those things. It's very vast syllabus. Yeah. The the one answer for that is I watched only revision videos. So my

25:30 syllabus was not that vast. Another another and another another thing is that yeah I concepts are like I take lot of time to learn concepts but the thing is uh we read we feel that we we are not able to remember that is natural only even if we are reading a thing like for like three or four times and still we are feeling that we are not able to remember it it is not actually like that we are having that in our subconscious mind when you get into a real time example examination scenario with all that at rushing you will remember that is one thing that I personally felt in the last exam like lot of questions as most of you might be knowing it was very difficult paper especially I got the evening shift so the questions were very

26:16 difficult for me and even though those questions were difficult and I feel like that I have not read this thing ever in my life but somewhere these things will touch in our brain and we will get that instinct because we have read it that is one thing you should always have you should never feel that I have read like three or four times still I'm not getting it right it is it is you are not getting it right because you are not in the apt environment for answering that question you will be comfortably sitting in your room doing a GT or you'll be comfortably sitting in a reading room the scenario entirely changes when you are in the examination hall okay okay what was your weak subjects yeah my weak subjects was mainly anatomy and PSM was my weak subject How you do that? Those

27:01 two are very weak. PSM should not be weak. Anatomy. PSM. PSM and anatomy both. Yeah, those are the most weak subjects only. There are plenty of huh. Have you covered anatomy? Yeah, anatomy. Ash's videos were what I watched. His revision videos were very wonderful. You can also get the free videos of revision videos in his YouTube channel. I think most of the parts are covered in YouTube itself. Otherwise you can take the platform and watch the revision videos about biochemistry for biochemistry. Uh yeah biochem biochem I mainly studied from first aid and also from ladder I learned very nicely topics. P asking that I was a DNB anesthesia resident joined in 2023 with

27:48 28k rank left due to personal reason for surgery this year got very poor rank although studied post extinction of exam. I started 20 days back again. Is is it achievable to get under 10k in 50 days? Uh I can't see that. Is that question in the chat? Yeah, in this chat in chat there. Wait, I can't. He's asking that he started preparation 20 days back. Uh in next 50 days will it be possible to do? Ah yeah, I found it. I found it. Yeah. 20 days back. Easy. Yeah. This thing is like now you have you have prepared for almost like uh how much? Almost 3 months. Not exactly 3 months, right? The thing is if you have finished a read and if you have

28:33 done revision and if your concepts are good already definitely that 10k rank control is very easily achievable. Okay. That is what I can say for that. Okay. Yeah guys you can ask you can unmute yourself if someone has any queries. Good evening sir I had a query. Sure. Yeah sir. Actually like uh I have done like uh uh major subjects from maro main videos. I had already watched that uh them in my final year and internship and other subject the small ones I have covered from revision videos but I have not uh seen any source like BTR or anything have not done from that. So my main thing is like uh my GT score and all is okay but the thing which I'm getting is key in 50 days how will I be

29:20 able to revise those like huge notes of marrow although I've annotated everything and so I was thinking like whatever I'm forgetting I will on a like a sheet I will make the concise notes of myself and that will also be like a revision tool for me because right now I can't do any like meds signaps or btr so is it a good strategy or should I just watch BTR or medaps for like last minute book or something. Yeah, the thing is now we have this 50 days. I would suggest not to start with a new platform right now. Okay. Already you have been you have watched the main videos, you have your notes. Since it is your own notes, it will be I think it will be easier for you to revise your own notes, right? Keep practicing MCQs and I would suggest apart from reading notes do keep

30:05 doing MCQs and retrospectively learn that if you for example you are doing a question on AG and then go back to your notes or IBG and read that that is how you can do. Okay. Thank you sir. Okay. Uh hello sir. Uh sir thank you for taking out your time. I just want to ask you like most of us here listening to you are in the clutter zone as they call in 120 130 135 range. What do you think is the main differentiator in your preparation? Like you have done medaps, you have done questions, you have done first aid. What do you think is the main differentiator we can get out of the clutter zone like above 140 like out of 120 130s range? What do you think is the main thing that

30:51 helped you? Yeah. So definitely meds signups has helped me a lot like madam had started uh as you already know madam had started medsups I think in October of 23 or something. Prior to that I I I did not have access to that. So I used to do uh revision videos only and after I started watching meds signups my uh like because that is a concise version and madam is giving a lot of pneumonics to remember. So if you are a pneumonic lover definitely meds would help you and after that by Jan February and all my GP scores drastically changed prior to one med. So yeah meds has really helped me. Okay sir. Uh the book I can't hear you. Yeah. So

31:40 uh when you started in last two months did you do both things made signups also repetition also you clubed both? Yeah the thing is uh as most of you might be knowing I had just one note like medaps notes as most of you might be knowing the earlier notes is actually just a template madam has not allotated anything in that so that is a blank template but you have exact topics written down. So what I used to do is watch meds I watched and revision videos I watched I club them together into the same metap. Okay. Otherwise it would be difficult now like you will have different notes for one same subject. You will have you'll be reading one thing from one platform another thing from for the same thing from another platform. That would be

32:26 confusing. Yeah, that is the issue. Yeah. So I think my question go any any more questions guys? Uh good evening sir. Good evening. Uh so my question is that uh like uh for the two months remaining we have some topics which are untouched and there are some topics which should need revisions like like major topics requires revision and there are few topics which are untouched. So should we focus more on revising the percentage which you have studied or should we still give time to the topics which are untouched if like uh what should be the strategy for the two months? Yeah. by these untouched topics. Uh what do you mean by this untouched topic? Untouched by you or untouched? Untouched as in the the less focused

33:14 topics the like suppose in the short subjects anesthesia or to I haven't studied in like great detail. I've just seen it superficially and that also I've not revised much but the major portion I've completed but uh that is so should I focus on the major topics which are more which requires revision or should I first complete those minor topics which are not completed then switch to uh revision. So the thing is you are talking about untouched topics in the sense that those topics from which questions are rarely being asked. I think that is what you meant. If that is so, I would suggest you can skip those topics for now and focus on revising those important topics for now. Okay.

34:02 Yeah. Any more question guys? Yeah. I had one question. Uh so like I've been like when I give custom models I make mistakes and I make the bookmarks of them, right? So like after doing them like when should I revise them? The question is which I made mistake. Yeah this question I I don't think I am the person to answer because I had made lot of bookmarks and I never read anything personally. Honestly I'm tell you if you like if you are like what they suggest is that you have to read those bookmarks during the revision of the topics that is what they are like that is what it is meant for like uh if you have put bookmarks for anat when you

34:47 are doing anat revision anatomy revision you have to read those things but honestly I have not read the bookmarks okay what was your approach when you did like mistakes and how did you go through them and revised again like when used to While we were revising anatomy, you went through all the mistakes that you were doing or like how you do you. Yeah. You are you asking about GT? No. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. So when when I was reviewing GT, I would just generally tell it uh when I when I go into reviewing GT, I would I would select a subject like now you're talking about anatomy. We would take anatomy and we have that option to select the wrong the questions which we have made mistake, right? We have that option. So what all questions I have done mistake I would select them first and then I would go into reviewing that and I'll see if I have like most of the

35:34 questions uh like I have made s like silly mistakes in mar like silly mist mistake now apart from those questions also there are lot of questions which we are making silly mistakes even though they are not writing it as silly mistake which we will be able to understand when we will be reviewing right but those kind of questions if you if I'm making a mistake repeatedly I would write it down into my notes section I have written it into my notes. Those who are reading in my notes there I have mentioned it in my notes actually that is what I used to do. Okay. Okay. Did you get like anxiety when you were like uh giving your GT and like the timer was bothering you always and how did you cope up like uh like just for the sake of finishing uh we'll go and mark something and they'll become silly mistakes uh sometimes and like uh

36:23 this is first and second is like uh like how what was your approach to complete the paper complete like where you be like you were being able to complete the entire paper and go back through the same questions which you could not complete. How how is how are you taking that? Uh you mean while doing GTS now? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Obviously right now I don't think you can't do do that because I think that time slot is none of GT. Yeah. So obviously you can't go back and all but yeah I think 50 questions is one slot. So obviously we'll have to uh get like finish one slot five prior prior to that time slot. So like five minutes you should get extra after one float in that five minutes. I usually did not mark any

37:09 question for review and all but because that is risky also we can't tell like maybe the 48th question might be a little bit time consuming and everything will be gone. So obviously I did not mark anything for review but if you are doing that you should be assured that you you should be making sure that you will be getting five minutes extra in each. Okay got it. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah. So I think we have completed all the question. How's the residency like now like from the struggling phase of preparation to now residency like? Um can I just take five minutes? One call center. Five minutes just go ahead.

38:36 Hello. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. I'm sorry for that. Anyway, regarding my residency, you are asking. So that I will tell to everyone like I have taken radio diagnosis as my uh PG subject and most of you might be having that thought that it is very hard to say you'll be getting a lot of free time like we'll be enjoying residency but it's actually the opposite of that I'm having a lot of work it is very hectic and it is very similar to medicine and surgery we'll be having a lot of night postings I'm having like three to four night even though uh I have like 11 pieces are there in first here even then it is a very big medical college but that is one thing I am I'm from the biggest medical college in Kerala so that is the apart

39:22 from that I like I am having like three at least minimum two to three night duties will be there every week and post night duty I will not be having any off the direct yeah so uh Hello. Hello. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think there are some like was it audible like? Oh yeah. Okay. So, thank you so much for joining and sharing so much information and best wishes to for residency. Thank you so much for joining. Bye. Thank you Dr. Thank you. Bye. Good night. Bye.
