5 Best Apps to Organize Your Life and Work (That Aren't Notion or Obsidian)

0:08 hey how's it going my name is Shu today we are talking about tools to help you organize your work and life a great tool can make a huge difference ever since I found mine I've been able to get more things done Miss fewer deadlines and generally feel more in control so I'm hoping that you can find some of these apps useful too there are many tools out there but these are the ones that I personally found most useful but not many people know about yet so you know of course you can go with big guys like notion and obsidian but they can be un necessarily complex or have a steep learning curve so if you're looking for more a simple tool these apps might be a better fit also I chose these apps not only for their functionality but also for the fact that they offer both web

0:53 and mobile applications having access to your noes tasks schedule ongo is essential in my opinion and these TOS have got you covered Wherever You Are okay having said that let's get into it all right so the first one is time stripe which I think is the best app to keep track of not just your da tasks but also your long-term goals um the problem with most tutu or not tabs is that they tend to become a a pile of daily tasks and you forget about your long-term goals things that you really want to accomplish but time stripe is different its focus is not just on the day-to-day tasks but also the long-term goals the way it works it's quite quite unique you can set your goals for different periods of time such as a year a quarter a decade or a lifetime it's usually best

1:40 to start with a lifetime goal or a decade long goal and then break it down into smaller ones um so say you want to open a cafe in the next decade then you can create sub goals for each year quarter month or even a day it's nice that you get to set your goals for different time frames also every time you see your tasks for the day you get to see your longterm goals as well which helps you remember them and keep you motivated but like other apps you get to create lists for different categories if you need a grocery list you can create one for that if you need to keep your ideas you can use it as a notebook or if you want to keep track of your habit you can make a habit tracker it's great that they have lots of templates for you to choose from so that you don't have to start from scratch it also has some insights that help you keep track of

2:26 your progress and stay motivated now their mobile app is decent what I find kind very frustrating is how slow it is to launch sometimes maybe I'm just not patient enough but it's annoying when you quickly want to jot down idea or to do or see something you wrote but you know once it's up it's great it works as well as the web app so if you're looking for a tool to organize your life and not lose sight of your long-term goals I think this is the best one all righty um another one that I personally really like is twos I tested a few times before and uh it gets better and better each time for something that's free the value it provides is incredible it's kind of like Google keep but much better in my opinion it has both a web and a mobile app the mobile app is super quick to

3:13 open it takes less than a second which I absolutely love it has the uh home screen where you have widgets for your daily notes todos list bookmarks and uh so on noon recently added home feature and it's kind of like that it is very useful that you get to jump straight into what you want to see when you need to check your tasks you can go to your to do this and see what to due today and what's upcoming but most of the time I think you'll be using the daily note this is a place where you can write anything not just tasks but also your thoughts ideas goals and so on you can also share a cool thing you found on the internet or photo to keep it on your daily note this way you get to manage your bookmarks in this app as well a cool thing is that you can set a reminder for each thing you create if there's something you don't want to forget you can create a reminder for it

3:59 um it doesn't have to be um a 2G but also for a quote you want to remember or link you want to check later there are many options like this in twos such as a forast timer and AI you can use AI to have it explain something break down Tod do correct grammar or just tell it whatever you want and if you have a project or something bigger than a 2d you can make a list that works as a a kind of project Noe now you can start writing or collecting things you need for the project but something I really like about twos is how customizable it is whenever into the settings for the first time it overwhelmed me a little bit with all these options you can customize even the smallest things which is really cool if you want to build something tailor to your preferences now there are lots of cool features too such

7:48 plan a person a movie Etc I suppose they are kind of like templates in a way which makes it easier to enter information quickly as well as organize them later so say you met someone and want to keep a record of it you can choose the human object type in their name Hobbies work and so on once you make the page you can see all of them in your people collection um there are a lots of other object types like this and you can create your own so this is one of the things that makes any type great it let you enter information really quickly and organize them efficiently also the ability to let you create widgets for these collections on your dashboard or the sidebar is really cool you get to see your important stuff at a glance like todos notes journals bookmarks or whatever else that matters for you the mobile app is great as well

8:34 which is a big reason why I included any type in this list it's fast and easy to use you can find what you need quickly and create a new note with an object type apps like notion are more focused on project management and collaboration but I feel any type suits better for individual use so if you're looking for a notion like app that is a bit simpler any type is a great choice I made a full review of it if you're interested all right so finally have to waste is um personal Knowledge Management tool that's getting really popular recently it is a not taking up but I think it's also great for organizing your life and work because you get to manage your tasks reading highlights and notes plus they have a decent mobile app too what's unique about Hep base is that it lets you organize things visually on a cus rather than the typical list based way

9:21 you can write down your ideas things to do or even Web Clips that you can go to a map which is literally like the map of your mind here you can create as many whiteboards as you want for different things such as um projects subjects you're studying or anything else I think it's pretty cool that you get to create map with your mind um seeing how it expands gradually can be quite satisfying it comes with tools like section line and arrow to make it easier to navigate your map you can also create mind maps which can be handy for brainstorming or outlining things another thing I really like about hease is that it allows you to search online within the app this makes a lot easier to research while writing notes using this you can make plans for trip research something Etc with ease it also

10:08 has a unified list for all the tasks in your notes which I think is crucial for apps that you use to organize your life there isn't much customization for toos but you can at least schedule them so you know when to work on them their mobile app is good it's quite fast to launch and seing R noise to find what you need is a breeze the interface is very intuitive and easy to use if you use a a daily note you can plan your day or even the week on the app and uh creating a new note is pretty straightforward as well my only complaint is that you can't see the list of the tasks like you can do on the web version I find that a little bit inconvenient but I'm sure it's going to be added in the future all right that's it for today if you want to see more useful productivity apps check this video out and thank you so much for
