00 All right, y'all. It has come to my attention that it is time to update y'all on my best and worst skin tints. This is a video I've done, I think, twice before, but it's been too long since I updated it, but I still have the spreadsheet that's been ongoing through this process, and it's always available. I will go ahead and link it down below, and I went ahead and added all of the ones that we're going to talk about today onto there. Basically, it's all the skin tints that I've tried. I'm going to tell you my shade, the price, the price per ounce, the arbitrary coverage level, minimum and maximum, which actually goes to this cute little graph on the on the right where it's like you can see the range of coverage level you can get out of it. And the finish claim, I give you all an affiliate link in case you want to shop and like give me credit for that. Whether or not it has SPF, what kind,
46 and whether or not it has fragrance. So, there were I think up to like 22 in there. Now, there are uh 38. And we're going to go through the ones that are not yet on there. I did face applications, half of my face, you know, so that you see bare face versus the skin tint or tinted moisturizer or whatever in question. And I will explain them as I go. This is essentially because there are so many comments that are asking me like, "Wow, I see that you really like that one you just tried, but like you said you like that other one, too. Which one do you like better and why?" and it's like this is actually a much easier way for me to get that information to y'all. So hopefully this is a helpful touch point. Again, we update this from time to time. I think the biggest hardest one was the first one. I hear myself when I say stuff like
32 that. Okay, but this will just be the new ones that we haven't talked about yet. And then the spreadsheet is available for all of them. So, let's go ahead and dive in. I threw them all in an Ulta bag so that I could transport them around my house while I was trying them and then putting them in the spreadsheet and all of that. So, the biggest freaking question that I get on my channel about skin tints every single time I like a skin tint is how does it compare to the CL? Because CL made it into my best of the best end of the year last year. I want to say it really hit the top of the list for me pretty quickly because it's beautiful. It's impressive in the sense that it has so much SPF in it, physical SPF in it. It's so high performing and also that it's just a little bit different like it has this kind of cool glow to it. So, anyway, this is the Tint and Protect SPF 50. I wear the shade two. I have worn
19 the shade three before, but I ended up giving it to my friend Rebecca because it does have a little more depth to it and a little bit a little bit more olive friendly undertone to it. Whereas O2 Fair seems to be a little bit more neutral. It matches my skin perfectly. And the thing that I really love about this again is that kind of like little bit of glow that it gives the skin like a true radiance. It's not just dewy. It seems to kind of like have a corrective reflective quality to it. I have to look and see if it actually has micica in it. It's a really short ingredient list, but we've got water as the first ingredient. We got dimethicone. Yes, there is micica in it. And so I do notice micica in it. Not in a glittery way, but in a way that it just catches the light beautifully. There is there's just something about this that doesn't really look like anything else because it has that kind
06 of like micica reflective glow to it. It is not by any means sparkly. It's not tin man. we will get into some stuff that has a little bit more of like a very intentional radiance to it. This isn't that. It's just like this much different in that respect. The one thing that I will say about this is when it does get to be the deepest darkest part of winter and like I haven't done enough exfoliating or like when my skin was in really bad shape because of peral dermatitis and things like that where I was having peeling skin. This doesn't have enough viscosity to it to disguise those kinds of things. You'll see later on a product like the Danessa Myers Yummy Skin Skin Tint. That's that's going to be the ticket for something like that because it has a lot of presence on the skin and so it will kind of eclipse dry skin better than something
51 like this. This will catch on dry skin because it is as thin as it is, just like anything this thin would. So, I do find it to be a really sophisticated formula. It's very longwearing. It's very pretty. And again, it's just one of those things where it's like CL keeps surprising me in a good way by making formulas that you would have no idea have as powerful of an amount of SPF in them, like physical SPF in them as they do. And this is absolutely no exception. This and the concealer, they're both incredible. And quick and dirty, I wear shade 2. It's $44 an ounce, but you get 1.28 fluid ounces. I found that a lot of these actually have more than an ounce in them, which is kind of cool. So, it's $34 an ounce. I rated it and I need to explain my arbitrary scale of coverage. My arbitrary scale of coverage is just that. It's like how I feel when I'm
38 using it. It's 1 to 10. Well, zero to 10 really. Zero being like where is it? That's a moisturizer versus 10 being like I don't think I own anything that's a 10. A 10 would be like the fullest shellacking of your life. And so these all top out at around like 5.5 or six at the very highest. Some of them are as low as like.5 in terms of coverage or even zero. And this one ranges, in my humble opinion, because of my channel, uh, from a 2.5 to a four. And the claim on this is a natural finish, no fragrance, and yes, physical SPF 50 in the form of zinc oxide 12%. Let's see if we can kind of I'll see if I can streamline things a little bit better as we go, like in terms of the the way that I'm communicating the information. I probably won't. Next, we have the new
23 reformulation of the tinted moisturizer natural dewy from Laura Mercier. This is a broadspectctrum SPF 30 sunscreen. Octaelate, octaine, titanium dioxide, and zinc oxide. So, we're talking chemical and physical SPF. The only other thing that I think that I've seen that does this. Uh, I don't know if I want to say that completely, but the most memorable one is the Rare Beauty, which I do believe is on here already. Yes, the Rare Beauty positive light tinted moisturizer, which I also think is absolutely gorgeous. And that's another one that has both chemical and physical SPF in it. So, I wear 0 silk. It is on the lighter side, but it's still a very good match for me. This is a very, very low coverage situation. We're talking a two to a four at best. If you are very accustomed to the old
08 old tinted moisturizer from Laura Mercier, I found that one to have like more coverage and more of like a glyceriny finish, like almost more of like a dewy looking dry down than this does. This the light revealer that came out a few years ago, they both have this thing in common where it's just it's a little more siliconey. Even though you're going to get a really pretty like dewy looking finish, it's still lighter weight. It doesn't feel it doesn't feel like a moisturizer. The fact that they're calling it a tinted moisturizer is because the original one was called a tinted moisturizer in my opinion, but this doesn't feel like a tinted moisturizer. It doesn't have the imollient moisturizer factor. It's just pretty and it's like feather light. So, it's $50, but you get quite a lot in here. You get 1.5 fl. ounces. So, that takes it to $33 an ounce. It is a
54 natural finish, chemical and physical SPF, and it does not have a fragrance. Now, I took the opportunity to include some things that like don't necessarily self-identify as skin tints or tinted moisturizers in both directions. You'll see that I have like a couple of foundations in here, or at least one. And then also a couple of like tinted SPFs that really don't have much coverage, but I do still consider them to be like cosmetics. It's not specifically just like a disappear, it's never there, you'll never think about it again kind of product. So, this is the mineral sun glow from in beauty project. Every time they offer gifting, I order another one of these because I never want to be without it. It's so pretty. So, it has three shade shades. This is the one that I give an arbitrary coverage level scale of 0 to 0.5. This is very much just like a whisper on the
40 skin, but it's there. It's a blurred finish. They don't have a claim on the finish because they're not calling it necessarily a complexion product, but I do think that it's a complexion product, like a very low-key one. And so I just say it has kind of like a blurred natural finish. Blurred radiant natural is what I said. Is a physical SPF 43 with zinc oxide 14.28%. It's $35 but you get 1.7 o so it comes out to $21 an ounce which is pretty great. I think that in beauty project stuff tends to be priced really well. This blurs the skin and it has like the tiniest bit of a tint to it that makes your skin look healthy without making it like your face not match your neck. This is actually the only like foundation product that I'm using right that I have on my face right now. And it's obviously like ridiculously gorgeous if I if I say so
26 myself. Like good grief. Like my makeup looks incredible today. I'm not mad at it. It just does something more special than a regular SPF. It's beautiful stuff. It's freaking ridiculous. Okay, next. And on the other end of the spectrum, we just talked about one where it's like it barely counts as a skin tint because it has such low coverage. This one calls itself a foundation, but I still consider it to be in the skin tint category. And that is the Patrick Ta Major Skin Hydrolux Luminous Skin Perfecting Foundation. I own skin tints that have much more coverage than this. And this is one of the glowiest, dewiest, like most skin tint in spirit kind of products that could ever call itself a foundation because the way that it goes on the skin has like a longwearing base that's not very high coverage. In fact, what did I put it as?
12 I said it's between a three and a six in terms of coverage. And then it also has this beautiful like dew layer on top that somehow stays transferproof. It's phenomenal stuff. It's really great for people who have dry skin. I think that the biggest advantage of something that behaves like a skin tint but calls itself a foundation is that it usually has a much larger shade range. And that's the situation in this case. And also, what a triumph over his first blind stab at making a foundation. I've never heard anybody say a nice word about that compact with the the foundation and the powder together. If you loved it, God bless you. But like, I wouldn't recommend it. This is for people who have very, very dry skin, but for those of us who have very, very dry skin, wow, it's so freaking pretty. It doesn't tolerate powder like super well. It's definitely something that has its
58 own dry down. Doesn't necessarily need to be powdered. I don't know, maybe like skip skin prep that day or something if you're concerned about it getting too dewy. I wear this in '05 Golden Neutral. It's $58 and you get 1 oz. So, it's $58 an ounce. They call it a radiant hydrated finish and it does not have a fragrance nor does it have SPF in it. We just talked about this and I'm going to talk about it some more because I like it so very much. This is the quintessence of a true tinted moisturizer to me as I was like talking about how Laura Mercier's one has kind of evolved into being this like very very lightweight thing that doesn't really have many qualities of a moisturizer anymore. This is the Jones Road Just Enough Tinted Moisturizer. I have this in alabaster. It is a beautiful shade for me. They say that it's a pink undertone, but it does have quite a bit of like desaturation to it,
44 which is really nice. And I cannot put a fine enough point on like how much this is a tinted moisturizer. Like you rub it into your face like a moisturizer. The what the foundation is even more like that, but like this has more sophisticated of a wear to it. And when I say sophisticated, I mean like high higher tech, like it has more performance to it. Like as you put it on, you're like, "Oh, that's nice." And it does have a transformation, like a dry down on the skin. I find that I don't need to powder it. I have very dry skin. I don't need to powder many things. But the finish on it is so natural. It's so gorgeous. And honestly, I just can't believe my eyes every time that I put it on because I'm like that just literally looks like my skin but better. Like my freckles show through and everything, but it just does so many favors. I put this at a two to a four
31 and a half in terms of coverage. Like, don't I mean, you can see in the B-roll like you you can't really expect this to like build to cover blemishes. You're still going to want to use like a concealer or something, but I think that going into it with the right expectations. I mean, it's a tinted moisturizer. It's $44, but you get 1.69 fluid ounces. So, it's $26 an ounce, which pretty good. I mean, I don't consider Jones Road to be like an affordable brand overall. Like, that's a pretty good like price per ounce. They don't make any kind of claim on the finish, but I would say it's kind of like it's natural, leaning slightly more hydrated than your skin might look on its own. Hence, tinted moisturizer. I mean, it's it's literally exactly what it says it is. And it doesn't have a fragrance and it doesn't have any SPF in it. So, if I had to compare it, because I know that that's the thing is
16 everybody wants me to compare. Like, there's a handful of them that you want me to compare to each other. The Jones Road has the moisturizer finish to it that is going to do a better job of not picking up dry spots the way that like the CL might pick up dry spots. The CL is going to be more perfecting. It's going to have more of like a, you know, a transformation like a foundation or something like that. It does look more perfected, more blurred, everything. Whereas this looks like beautiful, healthy skin. It's like if you're going for something more perfected and blurred. And this is if you're going for something just like more hydrated and healthy looking. They both serve a purpose. I do think that the Jones Road is easier to wear though because it leaves so much margin for the condition of your skin. You're going to want to pull a concealer out if you have to cover blemishes, but it is not going to like drag on dry spots or at least it
02 hasn't on me yet. All right, next let's talk about the new one from Makeup Forever. This is the Super Boost Perfecting Moisture Boosting Skin Tint. I have this in shade one. It's a little bit too light for me. The thing about this is that it is nothing. It's kind of a nothing burger. I cannot like romantic I cannot find one reason to romanticize this product. Like I put it on and I'm like that is a skin tint. Like that's all that that does. You could get this kind of skin tint at the drugstore all day long. It's not bad. It's just not $36 worth of good. And again, Makeup Forever and their I don't understand how a makeup artist backstage brand that has been around as long as Makeup Forever has still does
49 not have a grasp on skin tone shade ranges any better than they do. Like they make some of the most nuance brown lip pencils you ever seen. Like I get tingles thinking about them just because I'm just like, "Oh, that's so desaturated and gorgeous and nuanced and there's so many of them. We have options, whatever." And then they just, you know, every time they put out a skin tint or a foundation, any complexion product, they just overthink it and then underdel. And it's, this is no exception. I also really have no feelings whatsoever on this packaging because it's like, yeah, you're supposed to squeeze this part, the little accordion to get it out of there, but like sometimes it doesn't work and so you just end up squeezing the sides. So like, who cares? It feels like drugstore. It's $36. It's so forgettable and not in an oh, I put it on and I
35 forgot about it because it was just so easy kind of way. It's like you look at it in the morning and you're like, do I like that? It is probably the thing that has the most comments when I reviewed it out of any complexion product that I've ever tried, especially one that I like didn't really have strong feelings about. I wasn't like, "Oh, I love this." Or, "Oh, I I hate this." It was like that context and then so many people commenting like I bought it and I returned it because it's so like it's just so nothing. And it's so funny because they put it out alongside that lip gloss that's like the super boost moisturizing lip gloss which could not be more overdesigned. It was like it was built by committee and they all hated each other. Like that I think that's what I said when I reviewed it. It's just like so many ideas and no one said no. And it's like there's five
20 different sensations and four different tastes to it and it's just icky and gross and like the applicator is a weird shape and it just makes me uncomfortable. And then this is just like okay, could we have taken a little bit of the effort that we like put too much of into that lip gloss cuz these came out right alongside each other and put a little more innovation into this product, a better shade range, any kind of sophistication on the skin. It is just it's like the most nothing product. And I don't like hate it because it's nothing. Like it's just nothing. There's no point in owning this when there are so many other ones that work way better. But for reference, yeah, $36 an ounce. I put it at a 1.5 to a 3.5 in terms of coverage. It's kind of this like gel consistency. It's not like a super pleasure to put on. It's a radiant finish claim. It doesn't mean that it
06 has any kind of refraction to it. I don't think it has any detectable micica to it. It is just glowy. It does not have SPF in it and it does have a fragrance to it and not a nice one in my opinion. It's just I think that that was what actually put a lot of people over the edge on it. They were like not only was this nothing, they also put a freaking scent in it. Like why? Like I don't think any of the other Yeah. any of the other skin tints we're talking about today have a fragrance in them. Not even Danessa Myers. Even she heard her constituents loud and clear was like, "All right, we're done. We're done making stuff smell like tutti frutti." Like it's just it's a weird product. and not in a good way. I put some more lip gloss on. I had to take a break because my card got full. I cannot cannot stop using this Viv lip dupe. The original one. Can't get over it. It's so pretty.
51 Thank you, Jamie Genevieve, for existing and blessing us with your product. Next, we got a real crowd-pleaser. This is the Vers Skin Solution Multi- Serum T skin tint SPF 40. I tried this. I went and bought all the stuff that I could get my hands on from Verse. tried it all at once and I just saw my stats from last month and this was the best performing video out of everything that I released that month. So, I think that people were really satisfied with it. I got a lot of really positive feedback on it and I was just happy to be able to review a line where like everything worked really well. I want to say that there was like one thing that like didn't really do it for Oh, it was the liquid eyeshadow. But y'all have seen me just bag on every liquid eye shadow I've gotten my hands on lately. I still think I'm a liquid eyeshadow person. All that to say, this is gorgeous. Now, is $20, $19.99 a lot
39 for the drugstore at Target? Yeah, I said it in the video. I think that like we're talking about this like medium customer, this like medium price range customer that they're trying to incorporate into places like Target. I think that they understand that Target shoppers tend to be people who kind of like might be a little bit more affluent, little bit higher tax bracket and then they go to Target to like buy things for fun and then they're like, well, let's give them some stuff to buy kind of thing. And so they started integrating more like makeup brands and skincare brands that we've heard of before that aren't necessarily like low low drugstore prices even as drugstore prices are rising in and of themselves, but like Colourpop is there and I feel like this is very much in like the ColourPop category of prices. So we're talking still about a $20 skin tint here, but it's a really good skin tint and it does have SPF 40 in it. I will
26 always say the disclaimer that we always say. It's like this shouldn't be your only sunscreen, but still nice to have and it's done elegantly. So, I have this in the shade 2N. It's a little on the light side for me, but it is a perfect skin tone match to like my jawline, so it like never has any issue blending into my neck. I'm happy to put on bronzer to kind of enhance the rest of my face rather than working against a line of demarcation on my chin. And this is really, really fantastic stuff. Like I wear this on my own time. It wasn't just something that like typically that's a thing when I used to test drugstore stuff just because I know that people are interested in it. I just found myself I never used it again. it would just like roll around in my drawer. And to me, that felt insincere. I was like, why am I talking about this stuff if I don't genuinely care about it? I'm not going to pretend that like drugstore products appeal to me on the
11 same level as something that has had a lot of effort put into like the packaging and stuff like that. Like, that's what resonates with me just as much as the formula. So, you're not sacrificing anything. This is glass. I feel like all it's like when you see all of the shades of this foundation in this packaging, the choice of making this go from like a green ombre into a skin tone color is a good choice across the board. Like this green looks pretty against everyone's skin tone. I'm like what a good choice. It's just such like a pleasant approachable. It's kind of like Seal. Seal chose green, you know? I think that there's something about green that looks really nice against like skin tones like that. So anyway, the whole thing does not feel like you're sacrificing anything for it being at the drugstore. And this is such a high performing, beautiful, naturallooking skin tint. I have gotten
58 so many compliments on this when I wear it because it is kind of towards the Danessa Myers in a sense that it has a little bit more coverage and so it's very confidence building without it feeling like you have like a ton of makeup on. So I put this at a 2.5 to a 4.5 in terms of coverage. I think you could probably get more out of it than that, but like by the time you're at a 4.5, we're talking about like a range that also everything else seems to go with like a medium makeup face of makeup. We're not talking about a full beat and we're not talking about like, you know, disappearing like original Glossier is it really there at all kind of makeup. It's not even as translucent as most merit products. I compare the two because it's the same same company, same owner. This is so approachable, so easy to wear, and I have had so much. Again, I love to be able to crowdsource this kind of thing in the comments.
44 People coming back and saying, "I bought the skin tint and I also love it." That makes a huge difference to me because I'm only one human being. So, I appreciate y'all giving me that information. It makes me more confident in recommending something like this. So, natural finish. It does have physical SPF of uh 13.1% zinc oxide, again, to the tune of SPF 40, and no fragrance. And now for something completely different. We're going to talk about the Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint. I applied shade one in the swatches, but I have shade one and shade 1.5. I can wear either one. The one's just a little bit obviously like peacher than the other. This one's a little bit This is a lighter of them. It's a little pearlier, a little silverier. Oh, that's right. It's a replaceable cartridge. Forgot about that. Yeah. The thing about this is like we're comparing apples to
30 oranges in terms of amount of product for your money. Ooh, we should talk about the Fenty. Where is she? I love the Fenty skin tint and I don't know where it is. That's why I'm not going to have face swatches on it. I'll tell y'all about it next though and we'll go ahead and add it to the list cuz like for memory I just won't have a demo of it. That sucks. Either way, this is the only stick that we're talking about today and that does make it really weird for the cost per ounce because it's just a different delivery system. So, it is $46, but you get so little product that it is $153 an ounce. And we're also talking about Charlotte Tilbury, who has never batted an eye at overcharging for some of her products. She's like, I invented makeup. Did you know that? I invented skincare and makeup. I actually
16 invented beauty. I invented backstage. I invented models. I invented the makeup industry. I have my opinions on dupes and stealing people's IP, but I also think that it is fun to poke fun at someone as rich as Charlotte Tilbury for the points that she makes about her makeup. Either way, I put this at a.5 to a 1.5 in terms of coverage and it is, oh, such a radiant finish. It's a radiant because it's literally the Hollywood Flawless Filter but put into like a foundation stick. And so, it has the performance of a foundation stick which is lovely. Like, you can really put makeup on on top of it and it's very, very pretty. You don't have to put on as much as I did in this part of the video, but it also works beautifully as like a highlighter and things like that. It's great for underpainting and I just
02 find that it's really high performing and I prefer it absolutely hands down head and shoulders above the Hollywood Flawless Filter. I think it's a beautiful product. Big shade range. I love it. I think it's really wonderful. But like do bear in mind it is not like anything else that we've talked about yet. It is thin. It's siliconey. It has more like of a radiant glow to it than it does a dewy glow. It's more of a like a shimmery obviously like micica kind of thing than it is a radiant finish like a dewy finish or something, you know, looking like wet on the skin or something. It's not wet at all. But if you get the right shade, it doesn't have to look as tin man as this one did on me. And again, I think that you can wear it really really thinly and just get kind of like this ethereal glow underneath everything else that you're wearing. Is it absolutely vital to your routine? No. It's a specific look, but
49 it is cool that it exists and I think that it is an interesting and good product. And there is no fragrance and no SPF in that. Let's talk about my favorite skin tint because it's the best one. Period. Sorry. And it sucks because I do think that like tariffs and stuff like that are going to make this harder to get my hands on and I'm almost out of it. And she is sold out of my shade. I tried to buy another one today. I don't know if prices are going to go up or what, but like it's it's not easy out here. So anyway, you wouldn't know because I've an I've anonymized this. Like you can't there's no the ink is gone on this, but this little egg right here is my Lisa Aldridge seamless skin tint. It is the best skin tint in my opinion. It is so incredibly thin and lightweight and so perfecting and so blurring and not super dewy. Featherweight, completely weightless on
36 the skin. I can wear it. My 60 How old am I? a 67year-old mother can wear it. It's hydrating without having any kind of like dewy high-profile presence on the skin. I always say that it is as if someone took the Prada foundation that I am obsessed with. I love it so much and thinned it out for every day. Not that you couldn't wear the Prada foundation every day, but this is just so effortless and high performing at the same time. I've never ever ever had a bad makeup day when I put this on. I feel so comfortable recommending this product because it's so excellent. It's just very, very good. So, anyway, it is $49 and you get an ounce. So, it's $49 an ounce. I wear T2 and I would say it's a two to a 4.5 in terms of coverage. She
23 calls it a luminous finish, but I think it just has like a really nice blur to it. It is not particularly dewy looking at all. And it doesn't does not have SPF and it does not have any kind of fragrance to it. To me, this is a perfect product. And I said in my last video when I talked about the Jones Road, this one calls itself a tinted moisturizer. This is what I would call the essence of a tinted moisturizer. This calls itself a skin tint. This is the essence of a skin tint. They're are very different products. This one is going to be emollient, behave like a moisturizer. This is purely a tint. Someone has thinned out a high performance foundation to the point that it behaves like a skin tint. And you will look at your skin 10 hours later and it will still be there sitting there never betraying you. Perfection. It tolerates powder. It does everything that you want it to do. It's truly an incredible skin tint. It's so pretty.
10 Confidence in a bottle. Okay, so this is a product you probably haven't heard that much about on my channel cuz I used it like one time and I was like, "This is really expensive for like not being that great. Sorry everyone." I do feel like this has like a cult following and that's like hard sometimes because people are just like, "If you get it, you get it. If you don't, you don't. You're not in our club." I'm not in the club. So, this is the U Beauty the Super Tinted Hydrator. It is important to note that I do not think that this has a fragrance added to it, but all of the U Beauty stuff has a smell, a very specific smell. It's like a smell of the ingredients. It's a little bit weird. I don't know what that smell is. I'm going to guess that it is something effective from a skincare standpoint. And this is $108. I did bug them until they sent
57 this to me. I did not pay my own $108 for it. And I would not recommend that you do either. It's fine. It's fine. It's a fine product. It is. And honestly, I think that we're getting a lot of like feelgood, right, from the fact that it is a tinted version of a beloved product, which is the super hydrator. The super hydrator is still not super hydrating enough for my skin. Okay, call it what you want. There are rev revulse reverse emotions out there that are far less expensive that do far more to actually hydrate my skin than the super hydrator. you beauty just I don't really know. I hate to be that like that old southern lady, but it's like I don't know where they get off, you know, charging that amount of money for what they make. It's fine. It's fine, but like from a skincare
43 standpoint, I'd rather put my money in Allies of Skin. I think that their stuff just shows better results with less irritation. And as far as like a skin tint like this is concerned, I would far rather use the Lisa Eldridge. I don't need skin care in my makeup. hydrating, sure, but like hydration isn't necessarily skin care. It's just a finish on some makeup. And like you can find hydrating makeup that doesn't charge you an arm and a leg as if it is, you know, high-end skinincare. Either way, it is $108 for 1 oz. 1.5 to 3.5 in terms of coverage. In my opinion, it is a luminous finish. I also find that it doesn't really wear that long. When you pump it out, they do say to shake it, but when you pump it out, it can come out kind of separated. and then you know you're putting it on your skin and like there's just not that like really
29 satisfying lock that you get from some of these products where especially like the Lisa Eldridge or something where it's like as you're applying it you're like okay like you know I feel secure putting makeup on on top of that like this continues to kind of stay a little too dewy a little too sky a little too slidy for me and the smell is a little offp putting bad it's just very specific just something where I'm just like I would feel like a jerk telling you yeah that's worth it go spend $108 on that in this economy. Like, no. Not in any economy. It just isn't worth it to me. And maybe I just don't get it. I'll admit that. Maybe I just don't get it. This one's easy cuz y'all know this is one of my favorite products of all time. So, this is the Danessa Myers Yummy Sin Mommy Sin Skim Skin
16 Tint. All right, let's try that again. The Yummy Skin is serum skin tint from Danessa Myers. I looked on the list from before and we had reviewed when she came out with her drops, the Yummy Skin drops and I was like, "No, cuz they they were so concentrated." She has a really like branded finish to her foundations. I feel like this just this really beautiful glycerin finish. And that one came so close, but it was really strongly scented. And she wanted you to also buy the primer that goes with it that also smelled like tutti frutti at the time in order to kind of mix them as you went to like make different concentrations of coverage each day that you wanted to wear it or whatever, which is fine. It just wasn't my thing. It didn't make my life easier. This this is the product of I feel like
03 a lot of feedback on her initial releases because she had other complexion products even before that. And what we arrived at is something that is a true crowd-pleaser. So, I wear shade 2. It is actually what I would consider to be a pretty flexible shade range. It matches me so well. And she did just roll out a few more shades. I have this at a 2.5 to a 6.5 in terms of coverage. One of the best things about this, I call this also like confidence in a bottle because as skin tints go, a skin tint is an appearance of a product, right? It is going to look natural. It's going to look effortless, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it has to be like zero coverage. This somehow strikes a balance between having quite a bit more coverage or at least the ability to build to quite a bit more coverage than you're used to probably from things that call themselves skin tints without sacrificing the
51 effortlessness of it. It's just a absolutely gorgeous product, especially when I was having like bad skin, you know, or any day that I am having bad skin. It's just something that does you so many favors. It makes me feel so confident. The shades are dialed in so beautifully that I feel like you can wear as little or as much of it as you want when you find the shade that works for you because it blends so seamlessly into your skin. You never feel like you have to put on a shellacking of it and it wears all day. It does have presence on the skin, but I think that again that's the thing that gives it the advantage of like working on imperfect skin is that it won't drag on dry spots and things like that because it's not so thin that like you know whatever is uh the suspension that the pigment is suspended in is not getting kind of caught under like flakes of skin and stuff.
36 So if you're having acne and things like that and you don't want to look like you're wearing like IT Cosmetics like CC cream all over your face every day all I mean it is beautiful but I mean it's still shellacking like this is like that except like cut by 2/3 in terms of the coverage and like the weight of wearing it. That's a beautiful product like I said and it's very very good for feeling effortless and having a lot of coverage. This is like that but just it's a lot more effortless to wear. It is also $36. You get 1.58 fluid ounces and so it's $23 an ounce. It is affordable in my opinion. I just think that like it's a real crowd-pleaser of a product, especially if you're in a place with your skin where you need the extra coverage. It's just really beautiful stuff. And like who doesn't love Danessa
23 Myrix? I I truly want to give that woman my money. Like every time I see her on social media, I'm just like I don't know. Just something so pure and incredible about her. She's always like leaving these like entire slideshows of just like motivation on her feed and then when she gets on camera like she just radiates positivity and I'm just like, "Yes, I'm so glad your products are so good because I want to trade my money for them." Like she's wonderful. So yeah, that one doesn't have any SPF or any fragrance to it and they call it a radiant finish and I would agree, but it is a longwearing radiant finish. This one, it's actually interesting to mention it right after the Janness because I feel like the Danessa is the better choice than this
09 one. And that is the Milk Makeup Hydrogrip Gel Tint. The gel tint is a gel and it is a gel very similar to the one that pitched itself somewhere. I'm not sure where she went, but the Makeup for Everyone too, like these both have that kind of like not that satisfying like gummy gel texture to them where like a little doesn't go a long way. It's fine, but like once you get it all spread out on the skin, a it really matters what your skin prep was that day. That's going to make the biggest difference in how this performs. I don't love that. Like I like something that isn't that temperamental. This is kind of temperamental. I also feel like again very similarly to the Makeup Forever Skin Tint, it just is a little bit like, oh, I could have seen this coming out five or six years ago, we've moved past
55 this in terms of a skin tint being a skin tint being a skin tint being okay. I want it to make me feel more confident and it just kind of is like it's just there. It's fine. It's pretty. I always say, and this is nothing against my fellow creators, because people are disclosing their partnerships, but with milk, I think that like since they're ongoing partnerships, a lot of times all you'll see is just like milk partner or something is like a hashtag in the disclosure and the in their like Instagram posts and things like that, which is fine, but like we as customers, consumers, have to keep an eye out for that kind of thing because like especially someplace like Tik Tok where you know you're just like rattling through like there's a lot of content happening. A lot of times you'll see people talk about how great these things are and yeah, it looks pretty on the skin under the right lighting and everything like that, but this is a very
40 unspecial product. There are people being paid to talk about it and it's not a bad product. I don't think they're lying, but it is not a groundbreaking product. It's just a skin tint. And Milk has made some very pretty skin tints in the past. I think that the Sunshine Skin Tint was better than this. This is just a it's a fine product and the shade range also isn't that accommodating. I feel like it's not that well informed. I put this at a three to a five in terms of coverage, but it's still like not a pretty coverage. Like when I wore it today on top of just like normal skin prep, I think I had, you know, the road milk on or something like that as I was kind of like taking it off and putting them back on and things like that. It still just looked a little bit like flat on my skin. If I'm going to have hydro grip, I wanted to have hydro and I wanted to have grip and I wasn't getting any hydro. It is $36 and it is 1 oz. So it is $36 an ounce. I wear shade 2. I
25 think that like it's not a bad product. I just don't think anybody needs to run out and buy it because we live in a world right now where makeup is so good and this is okay. There is great makeup out there for that price and if this is what you're looking for, the Danessa Myers is the answer in my opinion. And no, this does not have a fragrance or SPF in it either. Oh, let me talk quickly about the Fenty again. I am so sorry that I don't know where I've put it. That is a real shame because it's such an incredibly beautiful product and I would highly recommend it. I think I probably would have recommended it for the Sephora sale too if I had had it in front of me. I just forgot that it existed because I have no object permanence. Truly, it is a slippy slippy slippy skin tint. And it comes in the form of a stick which is really nice and
11 easy on the go. It's also a product where me and my friend Rebecca were talking about it yesterday where it's like that versus something like the Bosma stick where you think about the Bosma stick or the Westminatellier or the Ilia or a lot of those like stick foundations. You're going to work off of the actual stick with a brush or a sponge and then apply to the skin cuz you kind of like want to get it moving first. The Fenty doesn't make you do that. It goes straight on the skin. It's slippy as all get out and it goes really far, you know, with a sponge. It's just beautiful, radiant, gorgeous stuff. That said, it is not at the end of the day the most groundbreaking thing in the world. Like anybody who's worked their way through most of the stick or whatever, it's like, yeah, that's gorgeous and I really enjoyed using that. Is it unlike anything else I've ever used only in the delivery system? There are plenty of skin tints that behave really beautifully like that one
58 does. doesn't have any really special performance to it other than the fact that I think that a lot of us had not seen something that was like that low coverage and hydrating and still high performing from a brand that knows skin tone ranges as well as they do uh as Fenty. So, it was uncommon at the time and I think that it is a beautiful product that you're not going to be mad that you bought, you know, but it is also something where it's like, you know, at the end of the day, it's not the most remarkable product in the world, but it is very, very pretty. I enjoy it a lot. I wear shade too. home stretch here. This This is a product that I thought was going to be more like the in beauty project that we were talking about earlier in that it had like no real cosmetic coverage or anything like that, but it was also really gorgeous. And we actually ended up with just slightly more of like a cosmetic effect out of this and it is
45 worth sharing because it's gorgeous. So, this is from Bigger Than Beauty. Bigger Than Beauty is the skin care brand branch off from Thrive Cosmetics. Thrive Cosmetics has made many foundation products and skin tint products. This one being kind of SPF first, I feel like they chose to go through the bigger than beauty brand. So either way, this is the Daily Defender Mineral Sunscreen Broadspectrum SPF 50. One thing I will say about Carissa Bodner, she makes a high performing product. Okay, she I think has like oily skin. I'm not sure, but like she does not make a product that um doesn't promise wear time. Everything has wear time in her line. It is incredible. The blushes, the pigment stays all day. The foundations will last all day. The eyeliners, the eyehadows, everything about their stuff is just
31 like really, really, really high performing and longwearing while looking pretty effortless. This is gorgeous. Like, it's something that I haven't really had the chance to talk about very much because when it came out, there was also a ton of other stuff coming out and I was like, I don't know, it's it was hard to like work it into a video. But it is $40, but you get 1.7 fluid ounces. So, it is $24 an ounce, which is very well priced for what it is. It is a.5 to a 1.5 in terms of coverage, but it is coverage. Like, there is a pigment to it. I have this in light. They sent me all of the shades, but it is worth actually finding your shade in it because it has enough coverage to it that it matters. Their claim on the finish is that it is skin evening, which I think is a really good way to put it because it's not particularly dewy and it's not particularly mattifying. Some
16 of their stuff is a little bit more mattifying for oil control. This is just a very natural looking skin evening kind of blurring finish and it is a mineral SPF 50. This is the first product from them that is a mineral SPF. So their other ones had had chemical SPFs in them before. I put it in line with the in beauty project except it does have a slightly more coverage I feel like and it's not aiming to be bronzing the way that this kind of has a little bit more of a bronzing effect to it ever so slightly. This is just aiming to be just like again a skin improving blurring kind of skin tone match for you. But like you're not going to go wrong either way. This one's SPF 50. This one's SPF 45. This one is zinc oxide 14.28%. And this one is zinc oxide 19%. It's just
02 really beautiful. Like I hope you can see it in the actual footage because it's kind of hard to see. Obviously we're watching all this other B-roll where there's coverage to be seen. This one is very subtle, but my god, you know, and I love that these kinds of products, like these two things specifically, behave like a foundation on the skin in that they then extend the wear time of everything else that you put on top of them and like makeup behaves better because you put it on, but it is also a really beautiful functional SPF. So, yeah, I love both of these. I hope that I was able to demonstrate the differences. Oh, and that one does not have a fragrance either. All right. And then finally, we have one that I don't think that we've talked about since I initially reviewed it. This is the Dolin Gabbana Blueberry Neutra Tint Hydra Glow and Fresh Skin Tint. All these things have these long
48 names because of search engine optimization, but that one is that's a lot. That's a mouthful. So, this is $52 because it's during your burner and it is one fluid ounce. So, it is $52 an ounce. I put it at a 2.5 all the way up to a five in terms of coverage. You can get a lot out of it. It's a very interesting product. I do think that it has quite a bit of blur to it. That is actually they don't have a finish claim on their listing. I just said it's a blurred finish. Or maybe they did. Either way, I agree. It's a blurred finish. It doesn't really go in line with like the dewiness that you expect sometimes from skin tints. I feel like it is a little bit more uh towards I don't know like the Laura Mercier, you know, where it has that like siliconey thing to it. That said, I feel like it
33 has more coverage than the Laura Mercier, but like other than that, it's kind of really similar to the Laura Mercier. The Laura Mercier is really low coverage, I will say. But still, I don't feel like it's really like what was the Laura Mercier in terms of $33 an ounce versus $52 an ounce. Like I think that the reason that I haven't talked about about this that much since is just because it's not special enough to warrant the price. It's a very I have no complaints about it at all. Like it's a pretty product. It is, but like you know I have so many other products like this that it really it does. It reminds me of pretty much anything else that has this really pretty siliconey finish to it. So this the light revealer. They also I mean the thing about the Laura Mercy is they have so many different finishes of it that they've made one literally for
20 everyone. you know, as long as you don't mind having low coverage. There's no reason to have this necessarily. It's pretty, but like it's not a run do not walk situation, but it doesn't have any fragrance and doesn't have any SPF in it. It's probably not going to piss your skin off. And I have this in 01N. I don't know if I said that. It's so much easier to update these than to make the original one. Like I said, so I am glad that like even though we only talked about maybe what like 10, nine today that there are still so many more that are on the spreadsheet already for your reference and they're all on a nifty little graph, too. I can, you know, do whatever y'all want in terms of data visualization with the numbers now that we have them. But I hope this was valuable for y'all. I hope that these face swatches were helpful. Also, I think in the past I've swatched them next to each other on my face and like with a skin tint. That's not hugely
06 helpful even in HD. It's like, you know, not that just not that helpful. So, hopefully this was more helpful. Let me know if like the sidebyside no makeup versus the skin tint was helpful. And uh if you enjoyed this, please give the video a thumbs up. Pass it along to somebody you think might find it helpful, especially because it is hard sometimes disambiguating all of these skin tints and and tinted moisturizers and what have you out there on the market. If you haven't subscribed yet, subscribe while you're here. We would love to have you. I will put a video up here that I think you'll enjoy if you liked this one. Thank you all so much for being here. I love you tremendously and I will see you in the next one.
