00 This is to anybody who is finding his or her way on traveling from Lagos Nigeria took it by this incoh >> traveling by road to other West African countries could be confusing as price of transportation border sorting passport stamping keep changing from time to time but we create all these trouble videos so that you have an update on what to expect after crossing the Nigerian border. If you're traveling from Lagos, Nigeria to Wagabugu in Bokina, here is what you need to know. I will be taking my time to show and explain to you each process that I took including the mistakes that I make so that you don't make them as well. Before traveling down to a new country, one of the most important things that people look
46 forward to is an affordable accommodation which is budget friendly. this apartment on Airbnb which cost me about $17. $17 which is about let me say $26 27,000 naira. Now most of the apartments here in Wagadug are expensive you get for like $100 above $70 above $200 above. Now you're looking for a place that you can just come lay low look at the environment before you rent apartment or maybe you are coming to Hagadoo Bokina for a short time and you need a very very cheap apartment. Now this apartment is not a luxurious apartment.
31 It is not your luxurious apartment that you have water bath, bathtubs, h good area for pictures. No, this apartment is for apartment that you can be comfortable where to sleep. No mosquitoes. Um lights. There's there's 247 lights. When I mean light, there's 247 lights here and they give breakfast. There's 247. I mean 247 light from morning to night. They don't seize light in this apartment. Even uh in Bokina, they don't take light. Light electricity. They don't take electricity. So you can rent this apartment. So I actually rented this apartment for three nights. Three nights for this apartment. Then if I want to go for a luxurious apartment,
18 then I can go. But this is cheaper because I'm a traveler. I will need to like economize like my expendings before traveling because I also have to travel to other places. So $17 a night to explore uh Wagadoo is not really a bad thing. We actually at um the badri. So we are about to take like a vehicle from bad to semi border. Before you embark on this journey, it is important that you have your Nigerian passport and your yellow fever card. If you do not have a yellow fever card, I will drop a number in the description. Please, it is very important that you get this yellow fever card before you travel. If not, you will be spending more along the road. Is it
04 by this vehicle? >> Yes. >> Which vehicle? >> Now starting your journey while in Lagos, you would want to locate a bad pad. Bad is where you will get a vehicle that will take you to some borders. >> How many passengers? Where you get? Six. >> Six. >> You don't even get passenger now. >> How much you collect? I go you pass. >> Yes. Now there are two types of vehicle in this bad park. One is the cheap one which goes for 2,000 naira.
51 >> Now these people stop at the same border. Now there's another vehicle which they are more expensive like they charge from 10 to 15,000. Now these people are actually people who carry people who do not have passport. Now if you're not traveling with your passport, you're traveling with your ID card. These guys will actually drive you down from bad to semi border and cross you from the Nigerian border over to Ben Republic border. They will actually charge you more because they will be settling all those officers at the border there. So they will charge you from between 10,000 to 15,000 while they pay for your card and everything. So they are not stamping your passport. [Music]
41 I'll carry this to B. >> Wait, but for that border how much? Like like like you stop me for for border how much? >> Stop for >> how much? >> I can stop you for >> how much? >> No make car for park >> for like you cross border enter but if you want I carry you to make we talk about this. How much >> where >> for after how much >> after >> as someone who is going on a road trip I would advise you go for the 2,000 naira on and stop at the sea stop at the equas
26 gate >> each stop now how much they pay 230 >> 200. >> Yes. >> So how many how many h how many stops there? [Music] >> You see that? >> Uh you don't get some places when stop >> 15 stops >> pass. >> A pass. >> Okay. So apart from this m you for they drop 200 N for each store >> and from that money that they collecting they having a problem because we the
12 drivers that we g to tell you we are not giving them >> not giving you do you know that I was able,000 from me. >> Why? >> Yesterday 50,000 me. >> Yeah. CMS 12
04 mortgages, yesterday >> because of the new rapper. Because of >> is illegal to import through the illegal woman. >> Okay. >> You understand? >> Okay. >> Look at it. >> Yeah.
50 that to be honest with you,000. >> So he collected 50,000. Okay. >> 150,000. >> Yeah. What I find last for me not to do I 10,000 yesterday. >> Yeah. Then get into that place stop and check already the man have told me I have some things you understand
36 when he open say wow say my child is 100 I don't have any money okay wow I give him 2000 I give him 25 I give him 30,000 he This order is still lage and trans to I have to pull out,000 from that car and nobody suspend that material. see it. You see as a luggage.
27 So I go on the time I get I cannot be able to go because of 20,000. So >> but the distance was it from where? >> Okay. Nice. >> 30,000. >> Okay. >> That is uh about one. Okay. 100,000 >> Yeah.
15 Nobody till I get to And there is a problem because every good supposed to be that guy. >> Yes. >> Why would you know the way
05 back. >> This is the last 800 now. >> Huh? >> This is the last 800. Another 800 again. >> This is the last 800. Yes. the last the agencies are complaining that the Apple Yes. Now people are complaining then you will think that they don't
00 Once you can take your passport and follow the track. Yeah. >> Okay. She just follow the track. >> Okay. That gate. Okay. H my password. >> Getting to semi border you will see two gates. One is the big gate where cars pass through. The other is the track gate where you can walk through it. >> So we actually left Padag and we at the border and as you can see in front of me we are going towards where we will stamp the passport. We are just trekking there and if you can see opposite there you will see that you see you see the border there. So we are tracking towards towards the semmit border.
49 As you can see it's very big. Very big. >> Why they long like this? Why not just go straight? >> Follow here more easy for follow the other side. Enter. >> Which other side? >> If we follow straight. Yeah. >> Follow. You don't see that from here enter make they make you know they confused so that you enter for the hand immediately >> they will only ask you to show your passport. Please do not give them any money even if they ask you to. Through
35 this gate, you can get to the office where you will stamp your passport for 1,00 to 500 naira at the Nigerian side. Crossing over to Ben Republic, you will stamp for 2,000 to 3,000 naira. But you can bargain with them on the price. >> But to get any idea how much they stamp here, >> I get 500 now. 500 now talking about exactly 500 this is for you never become so I don't know how much money >> after border crossing make sure you change your money at se border because you cannot change from naira to safa in
21 Bkina Faso they only accept dollar to naira or better still you have your dollar card or master card with This will help you when you run out of cash. You can use your card to withdraw safer from any echco bank within. >> How much you call it? I mean, >> I want Okay. If I want 100 naira 100,000 1,000 >> uh 100,000 naira how much,000 >> 6,000,000 6,000 ah your rates first. 36. No. 36. 360. >> Huh? >> 360.
11 >> 360 now. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> I know now. I know. Maybe we do 375. >> 375. Yeah. 375 now black market now 375h transfer cash I make make go cash no give me give me better rate you never give me better better rate just give me my Okay. >> CC
57 wait for person 3. I I won't go see person 370 is actually okay. I do 100,000. I won't do 100,000. I still pass. I just want go give person something. Which bank? Now this is one of the mistakes that I made by not changing enough money. I changed 200,000 naira to safer which is 74,000 safer. I would have changed up to 400,000 naira to safer and have enough cash safer with me for my journey. >> How much this one now? >> 74 74. So it's actually 200,000 naira to 7 which is 74
45 which is 1 2 3 75 6 that's 74. So we will be going to top bank market. So we going to I will take bike man. >> This man look like collect too much money from no look at this money I don't get money >> 2,000 last when you are done changing your money take a bike from sea to top park in Kotonu or Rainbow Park. This will cost you 2,000 sa these two park options have buses that drive you down
32 to Bukinaasu. So we are back getting f and we are heading for koton top market. You got to stand like so we are heading for Tokpa market in see a bus that is going to wagu. We got to top by park where they were loading passengers for booking aasu. But I did not book here because it was a
19 night bus. But if you can go through with a night bus, I would advise you book here. Ah, >> right now [Music] I'm never huh. So guys, we at to top park which is leading to pokas. So as you can see the bus behind me is actually
04 how much they call itself. Make check come this way. Come off my go now. Sorry. Please. How much? I don't
50 >> s you get pass any car >> yes I get pass any car any car where they move because I've been a small vehicle they come out so I know if you're traveling this is like the place in Kotonu where you can travel to so but I want to travel fast and that's why we trying to seek like an option but if there's no option then we'll know what to do But they they pack at top topper market if you want to go slow and they are saying is 35 but my budget is not up to that. So let's just see if there's another option
37 2:00 2:00 now. >> Yeah, I can follow the >> the 2:00. Is it safe? >> It's safe. This park or where we get three pack >> like okay another park but I still the same one where they park there >> I will carry >> you carry me go how much for that one now small bus now >> coal boss be shower saying they come out by 2:00 like I want to know the insurance >> no >> by two you are giving me >> I'll give you not go by I I'll give you >> Okay. How much? >> 35. >> I beg I not get that 35. That 35 too much.
23 >> 35. >> I've been me the entire 35. I see people don't pay 35. I've been the enter 35. >> How much this one? >> 40. >> He never go now. >> Where that one they go? >> Waga. >> Okay. Wag 40. This one go this one 40. >> Okay. This one 40 now I give you 30 go. I beg. >> So if if I pay for this one now if I pay for this one now direct to Wagad >> inside make I make I pay. If you tell me make I pay now pay. No I make I make I make I pay
09 better. Huh? >> Wait for yourself. What is this one? >> No, is that bad? I'm a travel creator. Like I tell people how to travel. >> Like I tell But I'm coming from Lagos. Like I tell people like there are some people that they don't know actually this place. >> So what I do is that you can even check my YouTube page. I tell people how to travel cheap. >> You understand? So you don't have anything to be afraid of? >> Uh but what come >> here? Okay.
57 Don't tell the place already. So they're not actually moving early like moving by two but I want to move by two so that I will get there on time. So that is why I am moving fast. So we are going to another of their park but if you don't want to move fast you can definitely pay with them like you can definitely follow them and then travel. might be an egg.
49 So is this bus that is going to wagaso and they're not moving early. So we actually moving with this park which is the rainbow transport. >> Yes. How much? Huh? 30,000 >> 30,000 I 20
45 you know 25 now last one huh When I take them out when I take them out when I take out 1:00 >> 1:00 this this 1:00 already now 1:00 be this >> Ih no my friend with his so I just small small I get friends with with to my ticket now.
31 >> Yeah, Nigerian but not be everybody but I get friends. So we speak as small small English my friend be army officer. So if I travel so small small guy too big okay booking a bus from here in Rainbow Park to Wagadugo Bokina cost 30,000 France which is about 97,000 naira. This amount
19 is only for your bus ticket. Border sorting on the road or bribery is not included. Even with your Nigerian passport, you will have to pay more. Rainbow company transport people through different countries in West Africa like Ben Republic, Dongo, Ghana, Ivy, Sagal, Nijer, etc. So they can pick people going to different country at once. Drop them at different parks while another vehicle from their company picks them up and drops them off in their preferred country. So we were dropped off in their park in Parakul in Ben Republic while they headed for Nijer and we were waiting for a bus going directly to Wagadoo in Bukinaasu from Paraku. >> What be the name of this place?
07 >> What be the name of this place? Gumbo Park. No, the the place. What be the name? [Music] What be the name of this place? What be the name of this place? What the name of this place? So we actually stopped at Baraku for an exchange of bus. So this one is this our own is going to nij while we wait for another bus that is going to Wagadoo. And this is 10 24
54 10:24 in the night. [Music] Wait that one. I give him I give her how you money. You don't see see this man. >> We arrived the Benet Togo border at
41 night. Here you will have to sort stamping out of Benet Republic. Others were asked to pay 1,000 SEAR while those who were with Nigerian passport were asked to pay 2,000 SEA. We tried to bargain but they told us that if we don't pay that we should go back. Honestly, this experience broke me. stamping into Togo. We paid 1,000 Sepha each. After a long trip, we also arrived Togo Basu border. At the Togo side, we were asked to pay 1,000 CFA each. >> This 1,000 SEAR was for passport stamping at the Togo site. That's we were stamping out of Togo. >> Everybody bring 1,000 1,000 SEAR. made
27 they give police. >> Okay. >> But say the passport. [Music] Okay. At this border you can get a bokina sim card. the sim card from any network, but I prefer you choose uh the one that has the bookasu logo on it, like the black sim card. Now, make sure it is connected before you leave. Make sure it is working on your phone before you leave. And you can also get data from them.
26 Stamping into Bokina Faso cost another 2,000 Sepha. Here they will also check your yellow fever card. So if you don't have a yellow fever card, you can spend up to 1,000 Franks or 2,000 SEA extra on the uh 2,000 stamping into Bukinaasu. Immediately you cross the Bkina Faso border into Bokina Faso. The first stop you will have to pay 1,000 sea. At the second stop you also have to pay 2,000
13 sea and that's the last you pay till you get to Wagadoo. [Music] Wait to wait. H where those boys now? [Music]
08 like >> I residence. >> Huh? >> Oh, yeah. Heat.
15 Heat. Heat.
02 Heat. Yeah,
48 [Music] it's been Heat. Heat.
