34 Dr Christie and your teaching attorney your leadership teachers members of the board members of the Ministries fraternity parents family boys and girls graduating class of 2024 good morning as you heard I'm wave hands and um the caretaker for North LaRon representing the People's National party I'm delighted to be here today to speak to the future of our country to speak to

19 to speak with the leadership that will take your rightful place in the not too distant future I want to encourage you to continue to excel to continue to strive continue to thrive continue to make your path for a briad future I want to pause to acknowledge the parents the Guardians who may be the grandmothers the aunts the uncles but I want to single out the fathers and if the fathers are here to stand

06 please that is yes thank you of Applause and I want to say to the daddies the fathers that whether you accept it or not we are the leaders within our homes communities Parish country and we will get good support from the unwavering mothers aunts grandmothers of our familyes and we have a beauty of care to ensure that our children are looked after not just to protect them and to provide but to stand as their teachers and where you don't

51 have a competence to teach them you should seek same in a place like K High School where they can be brought up properly I want to also encourage our graduants to make sure that you stay the course as your board shair said earlier success is not any particular destination it is a journey that you are already on and you see to go as far as your competence and the opportunities provided to you so I ask that you be clear in your mind as it will be said in James 1:6 a double-minded man is unstable in

39 all his ways so you may not know if you want to be a teacher a doctor a civil engineer um a journalist whatever it may be but what you know is that you want to make something of yourselves and to make your families proud of you and that deter and that will be determined by how focused you are that will be determined by how conscious you are that will be determined by how determine you are your graduating the is maintaining Excellence through resilience and resilience is always important I was once in your seat I was once a graduate of fifth form I was going to graduate of sixth form

24 matriculated to University and I also took on another career in sports playing Cricket at the highest level and I needed to acknowledge maintaining Excellence through resilience because a lot of times when I went to bat I was a batsman and umpires gave me out and I was nothing close to being out and I had to go back to the pav and sit and watch everybody else but home home train and then go again and that happened time and time again and not because you can prove that it work out doesn't mean that the Game Stops so not because you apply for the job and you didn't get it that doesn't mean the Game Stop not because

10 you apply for the University and you didn't get accepted doesn't that doesn't mean the Game Stops what it means is that you're going to redouble your efforts you're going to call on your support group and there's no greater support than God almighty so in everything you do make sure father God is a front and center of what you do so the game will continue and you will always have a way out they say the good Lord does not give you more than you can bear I want to speak to you as simply as I can to say that stay in the game stay focused keep your family Close to You Keep a community around you and make sure that you Excel

58 now geographically Kell is in Clarendon and many in Jamaica and I can say this on experience believe that Kingston is Jamaica well we have newday K has produced some wonderful students and we have 99 of them sitting with us today that will go and take over this world so do not allow anybody to tell you that your geographical location will determine where you go or who you are it is not where you're coming from it is where you're going it is not how you start it is how you finish so ensure that you believe in yourself hold your heads high as you danced in the hallway

46 today I saw some energetic diverse [Music] Dynamic bright handsome beautiful students of Ken high school dancing them themselves out of one space high school and preparing themselves to dance in another space some will go to to University training school any ter institution go some may have to go straight into the workforce and take up responsibilities as young HS to help your families and may return and I hopefully return to to higher training

31 so that we can get to where you want so may become entrepreneurs and big business persons all I ask of you is that you believe in yourself you remember where you're coming from your board spoke about the T alumni you will soon have to be part of that leadership as well to make sure that you prepare a better place at T for the future students so you you are a the other world you have a lot of responsibilities on your shoulders take it one day at a time we believe in you your school believe in you your families believe in you your community believe in you and certainly the world is yours I want to say congratulations to you again congratulations to all the teachers who

17 would have contributed to your development from you started in first long right through your graduating and to say Well done to the parents again the communities who look after their their their students and to say to the fathers that it is our responsibility to lead and if we lead as we are to do Jamaica will be a better place and certainly clar will be certainly better thank you very much and all the very [Applause] [Music] bless thank you so very much Mr hin for those very inspiring words R I hope that you are listening ke to what he had to say he reminded you that you should stay

03 in the game and it is not how you start but it is ultimately how you will finish and that is why you need to keep your head up we believe in you so you ought to believe in yourselves as well once again thank you so much Mr hind he is the caretaker for Cent um representing the People's National Party Now ladies and gentlemen brothers and sisters before I go a foot further I have to make an apology I hang my head in sh now we talk about extra know but sometimes
