Introduction

The reviewer introduces "Digimon: The Movie," a combination of three separate Japanese Digimon films. He jokes about the challenge the writers faced in merging these unrelated movies into a single narrative, comparing it to a "Frankenstein piece." The review aims to determine if this compilation works or falls short.

Plot Overview

The movie's plot loosely follows the events of the three films it's based on. It begins with Tai and Kari encountering their first Digimon, while Willis in America also receives his. Years later, Izzy discovers a Digi-Egg on the internet that becomes infected with a virus. Willis created this Digi-Egg to create new friends, but the virus transforms it into an evil Digimon causing destruction. The characters must defeat this Digimon and later confront Wendigomon, who is hunting Willis.

Saban's Influence and Narration

The reviewer notes that while the concept of combining the films was bold, Saban's attempt to attract new viewers led to issues. The addition of Kari's voice actress as a narrator, reiterating information and making puns, is seen as insulting to fans and condescending to newcomers. The reviewer suggests the movie would have been better without the narration.

Music and Willis's Role

The film's music is divisive, with some appreciating the random pop songs and others finding them inappropriate. The reviewer enjoys some of the music choices, like the track during the fight with Parrotmon, but acknowledges that many don't fit the scenes. The reviewer finds the integration of Willis as the connecting thread between the three films to be a good idea, referencing a detail from the original Japanese films.

Personal Opinion and Conclusion

The reviewer admits a fondness for the film, particularly the second part, and praises Joshua Seth's voice acting. Despite its flaws, the reviewer can't hate the film, attributing some of its appeal to 90s nostalgia. While not a film he'd watch frequently, he recommends it for those in the right mood for corny jokes and Saban's style. The reviewer briefly mentions the "Angela Anaconda" short that preceded the film but dismisses it as largely forgotten.

0:00 Kevon come on Rooney come on now let's awesome achievement mama you just gotta imagine how much of a nightmare must have been for the writers to combine three totally unrelated movies into one Frankenstein piece which nowadays we like to call Digimon the movie so does the bonds monster of a movie workout or is it a little less than to be desired the plot some what follows the events of the three movies it's based on but to briefly summarize our movie starts out with Ty and Cara encountering their

0:46 first digimon at the same time Willis all the way in America also receives his first digimon cut the several years later and izzy discovers a digi-egg on the internet that gets infected by a virus turns out Willa's created this digi-egg to create more new friends but a virus infected it and now inform on is causing damage all across the world and you know the rest of the story from here they defeat the Boorman great but now the virus has come and snatched up ko c'mon cut the several years later Co c'mon now did you evolve into wendi-go Mon is now hunting down Willis and trying to get a message across but it's constantly stopped by the virus before he can say the full sentence sokun Willis and all the digidestined save the

1:32 world or as the plot too complicated to follow God Pokemon just had it so much easier at least their movies were regular hour and maybe 20 or 15 minute length Digimon movies no they had to be all over the map and length still it was a pretty bold move of the bond to tried to mash up these three movies together and overall it would have been a pretty good film except for the fact that Saban wanted to try to get other people outside of the fan base into Digimon so for some reason they had carries voice actress Laura jill miller narrating throughout a good portion of the film just reiterating what we as fans already know

2:20 or just saying lame puns or jokes it's insulting to us fans because we already know all the terminology and what a digimon is and for any person that was interested in seeing this movie the movie just constantly talks down to you and saying the lame joke here and there like this golden one I got my friend a pink power my brother and I had a give-and-take relationship I would be the who would take this movie would have been a lot better if they had completely cut out the Kauri bit and just had the movie speak for itself the music in this film is either you're going to love it or you're going to hate it to be honest I actually don't mind all the random pop

3:07 songs that they put in there like to this day I still get super hype during the bit with Graeme on fighting parrot mon and though i do agree that a lot of the pop song choices really really don't fit with the scene that they're put in I see it more as a good corny fun type of film especially with that oh so bad digi rep oh it's both enjoyable and painful at the same time why am i a masochist making Willis the threads that ties all three films together is honestly not too bad of an idea of looking at the original Japanese films like in the third one they even mentioned that

3:53 Willis lost his Digimon at the same time that tie and khari lost their first Digimons like even though I enjoyed a lot the first part of the thumb I don't really see it really fitting in with the overall story that they're trying to tell yes they do kind of bring it up later on and carry constantly brings up a lot of stuff in the first part of the film which makes it very unwatchable and the best part of the film is indeed the second part i love the scenes with voice actor Joshua sets doing an excellent job in his role I don't know if it's the 90s nostalgia in me but I can't in good heart really hate this film is it a film that I'll always want

4:41 to put on and watch not as much as some of the Pokemon films but if you're ever in that right kind of mood and you want to hear those great a corny jokes from sabon pop in Digimon the movie oh yeah there was also this short at the beginning of the film for the show Angela anaconda but honestly no one remembers that show outside of this movie so I felt I didn't really even need to bring it up
