This to the point where the space travel is considered kind of the de facto recommendation in its price bracket $30. So when Moonrop finally announced its sequel, the very creatively named Space Travel 2, everyone collectively lost their minds. Is this going to be the next step up, the next generation, the next revolution in true wireless technology? And as per usual, since we're talking about it on the hangout.audio channel, you know that it's already approved by me. But of course, we have to explain why exactly it is critical approved. So even though that we are extremely late to a party, our original Moonrop space travel one showcase video remains our second mostwatched video on our catalog. So clearly there is a lot of demand for extremely budgetoriented true wireless butts, especially coming from an established brand like Moonrop. So with the release of number two, everyone's expectations are at an all-time high. The Space Travel 2 has extremely huge shoes to fill. And at least on paper, it seems that indeed a lot of things are much much improved. Here are the main things I think are important to you guys. The battery life is increased from 4 hours to now 7 hours of play time on

1:32 the buds themselves. The ANC strength is also reportedly improved as well as the mic quality owing to its new MPU and ENC unit. We'll report on on what the actual improvements are later on. But first, let's get into the non-auudio stuff. And as with most really budget stuff, yeah, that's really not a lot to talk about here. In the box, you get, of course, the TWWs themselves, but also small, medium, and large ear tips and then a charging case. And that is literally it. Nothing else more. But come on, it's 30 bucks. What are you going to do? If you want something more, you pay more. That's just how the market works, huh? When it comes to the butts themselves, they don't look too much different from the original Space Travel ones. You get the very unique lidless charging case, which some people think it's uh okay, but other people would think they're just saving costs,

2:18 which they are. And as for the earpieces themselves, I would affectionately refer to this as the toothbrush form factor. It's comfortable, not much issue with my ears, but as per usual, this is super subjective and really up to your own ear anatomy. Now, battery life is one of the things that Moonrop have advertised as a massive improvement over the Space Travel 1 from 4 hours with&C on the original to 7 hours of&c on the new number two. Mic quality is also a vast improvement on the new Space Travel 2. I'm not sure if it's due to the new MPU or ENC or whatever marketing Boss they throw in, but it does sound better. But you're watching on this channel and what's probably most important to you is the sound. And let me tell you, yes, the Space Travel 2 takes a little bit of a more restrained approach in terms of tuning, but still comes off as very natural and more importantly good sounding. In comparison to the Space Travel 1, the Space Travel 2 goes for a more restrained approach in both the bass as well as some treble,

3:50 which means that if you're used to the more exciting listen that the Space Travel 1 provides you, the Space Travel 2 might come off as a little bit more boring. To me, I think it's a reasonable trade-off. I think the Space Travel 2 is one of the more natural sounding true wireless buds that I've heard so far. But there also comes a caveat because if I want to use the Space Travel 2 outdoors, then I actually want a little bit more low-end because it's while indeed improved over the first edition, isn't as big of an improvement that I would like it to be. So, let's talk about&c. And the ANC on the Space Travel 2 is marginal improvement over the Space Travel 1. It's not like a huge leap where I would say, "Yeah, wow. This is a generational uplift." No. In terms of the ANC, uh, if you don't like the Space

4:36 Travel 1, you're not exactly going to be satisfied with the number two. In my original showcase video for the Space Travel 1, I mentioned that it just exists and it is better than having no A&C at all, but it's not really that good of an active noise cancellation. But again, we have to manage expectations. This is a true wireless bud going for $30. You want better ANC, there are going to be much better options out there, but they are going to cost three times, four times, five times, maybe even 10 times the price. So, going back to my tuning comments, yes, because of the slightly weaker A&C that I'm usually used to, I prefer a little bit more low-end lift out of the Space Travel 2. But just like with the Space Travel 1, you do have different presets that can adjust on the Moon Drop

5:21 Link app. Another big plus with the space travel 2 is that now it's a lot better at delivering higher volumes compared to the space travel 1. One of the biggest criticisms of the Space Travel 1 is that you really couldn't get it loud enough. And even for me as someone who listens at some would say unreasonably low volumes, I find myself almost maxing out the Space Travel 1 almost constantly. So with the Space Travel 2, you can go into the app, adjust the gain level, so you can get it much louder compared to the original. But disregarding my preference for bass, the Space Travel 2 remains one of the very few true wireless buds that has a very balanced, almost flat sound signature, but not to the point where I'll consider it completely sterile. There's still a little bit of a bass boost, a little bit of warmth, they clearly tried to use the 5128 Research here going in mine. So, while I'll

6:07 consider it a neutral listen, I wouldn't call it a lean listen or even something that is overly bright like a lot of neutral sets are. But as we move into the treble response, that's where the Space Travel 2 starts to get a little bit wonky. Just like with many other true wireless buds, the treble on the Space R 2 is not the smoothest. There's a lot of peaks, a lot of dips, and just sounds a little bit unnatural relative to, let's say, a full analog IM. This is due to the fact they're using a lot of DSP. They have to make sure that the response of the IM kind of matches up properly with all the electronics inside. And it is a compromise in that way. But again, and I know I keep repeating this, people need to manage expectations. This is a $30 true wireless set. And yes, you can get better sound out of a $30 wired IM, but

6:52 completely different use case. But at the end of the day, we have to understand that Moonrop now is effectively competing with themselves. Even with the Space Travel One, there wasn't really another proper competitor in that space, that $30 true wireless bird space. And now with the Space Travel 2, I feel like Moonrop has just solidified their lead even more. the competition is just lacking in this price bracket and at least until we see another one pop up in the space. Moonrop is just going to be kind of enjoying their monopoly in the enthusiast budget true wireless space. Now, let's talk about the shoulds and the shouldn't why you should consider buying the Space Travel 2 and why you shouldn't. You should if you're looking for obviously a budget true wireless set that is tuned relatively neutral. The Space Travel 1 has been a benchmark in the space just

You have a much better microphone quality compared to the space travel one as well as a much higher volume threshold if you use the moonrop link. The tuning is also much more neutral owing to its lower bass as well as lower treble, but this may be a con depending on your own preferences. And as for why you shouldn't consider the space travel too, well, it is effectively a budget true wireless set. So, if you're looking for more premium features, better ANC, well, you have to pay more. ANC is not the best in a complete vacuum, but probably one of the best in its price range by virtue of it um having&c. Some people might not like the lidless design. It's been around for
