00 Visceral fat is the most dangerous fat in your body. It wraps around your organs. It slows your metabolism and it silently fueling disease. But here's what nobody's telling you. There are nine sciencebacked secrets that can shrink it naturally. And most people are doing the exact opposite. Hi, my name is Michael Diamonds. I'm a medical doctor. I am also a scientist with degrees in biochemistry and microbiology. I am a pro bodybuilder, natural, and your coach. I recently studied nine of my most recent clients who killed their visceral fat successfully. Countter, Robbie, Mitt, Brian, Sammy, Malik, Donnie, Frank, my mom, Sandra. I'm sure that's more than nine. I lied. But I studied even more people. But what's amazing is that they followed nine
48 secrets that killed their visceral fat, but not only that, their subcutaneous fat as well to reveal their six-pack. But today, I'm breaking down the exact science behind these nine secrets that target visceral fat. Specifically, not just weight loss, but this deadly fat that is wrapping around your organs like a toxic sludge. I personally think from this list, secret three is the most simple yet the most powerful. It burns more fat than even working out in a gym. So, let's start with why visceral fat in your body is such a killer, a silent one. And unlike the fat that you can pinch, visceral fat is metabolically active. It's literally an endocrine organ pumping out inflammatory chemicals 24/7. And research shows that atapost
33 tissue expresses genes encoding secretary proteins. These are hormones like cytoines and inflammatory markers poisoning your system. But here's where it gets interesting. The first secret is so simple, it's almost embarrassing. And that secret is stop eating so late. Look at this research. Late night meals spike glucose, cortisol, and insulin, three visceral fat triggers. And studies show that when you eat late, your glucose tolerance can significantly decrease compared to when you eat the same meal earlier. That glucose has nowhere to go except straight to the visceral fat storage. My recommendation is this. Frontload your calories, specifically your carbohydrates. And research
18 suggests that eating larger portions earlier in the day supports better glucose control. Your final meal should be at the very latest 3 hours before bedtime. And this is where I always tell my clients, have your carbohydrates surrounding your workout, preworkout and post-workout, cuz this way your body uses the carbohydrates and after a workout, those carbohydrates can go into your muscles after training. My client Trish just made this one change and she moved her dinner from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. 6 weeks later, 4 in off of her waist. Same calories, different timing. Now, secret two literally transforms your fat cells from storage mode to burning mode. Now, I'm curious before I jump in. What time is your final meal
05 usually? And have you tried eating earlier? What happened? I would love to know in the comments below. your experience might help someone else make the change and I also want to use that as statistical evidence in future videos and I can give you advice if you're struggling. So, let me know in the comments. Now, secret two, this one goes against everything that mainstream fitness is telling you. So, once per week, do a 24-hour fast and time it from dinner to dinner so you're sleeping for eight of those hours. Here's what's happening. Studies show that fasting for 24 hours triggers autophagy, your body's cellular cleaning up system. It specifically targets damaged cells and visceral fat for energy. Research shows that even short-term fasting can introduce neuronal autophagy and metabolic changes that preferentially
52 mobilize visceral fat stores. My client Montino does this every Sunday. Not only did he lose his visceral fat, but he would always tell me in Zoom that he was feeling mentally sharper and he was even more focused on the days that he was fasting. Now with secret 3, it's a gamecher that nobody's talking about. Every morning before eating, go for a 30 minute to 60-minute walk. And the science is so fascinating. When you walk in a fasted state, research shows that 70% of the calories come from fat. And when you run in the same distance, only 50% of that comes from fat. Now you may be asking, Dr. Mike, why is that? Your visceral fat has a unique beta andurgic receptor sensitivity that makes it more
39 responsive to low intensity and also sustained movement in a fasted state. Think of your receptors as easy locks that you can pick right without needing a key. And this creates what some researchers call a fasted cardio effect. your body preferentially burns visceral fat when insulin is low and you're moving at a moderate intensity. Now, before I go into secret number four, let me know if you guys enjoy this level of scientific detail. If yes, just hit the video with a gentle thumbs up and that really helps me know what type of content you guys want me to create. Now, after you've completed your fasted walk, this is so crucial. I want you to eat 30 to 50 grams of protein every meal and
25 especially in breakfast. This is the main secret of dieting. Research shows that having high protein meals, especially at breakfast, reduces hunger hormones that help stabilize your blood sugar throughout the day. Now, this also will improve your insulin sensitivity and indirectly supports visceral fat reduction. Now, what I want you to do is ditch the breakfast cereals or the fruit juice, right? the healthy juices you drink in the morning. Instead, this is what I recommend. For example, an egg white bites with Greek yogurt. You could do a protein smoothie or maybe a tuna and egg toast on Ezekiel bread. And the key here is the main one is hitting 30 to 50 g of protein to maximize your metabolic benefits. Now, if you want a 21page recipe book, there is a free
13 resource on my site at sculpbyscience.com. Just go to the resources tab. Now, the next one is going to sound extreme, but the science is super solid. I want you to end your shower with 30 to 60 seconds of cold water. If you can add one ice bath per week, that is fantastic to do. Cold exposure activates brown atapost tissue through beta 3 andurgic receptors. Research shows that it can induce the browning of white fat cells, particularly in the visceral fat region. Now, studies demonstrate that regular cold exposure can help reduce your waist circumference, a key marker for visceral fat. Now, this is how I recommend you go about it. Start with just 15 to 30 seconds at the end of your shower and
59 then build up from there. This discomfort is so worth it, especially with all the metabolic benefits. I invited even a few of my clients to Malaysia and we did an ice bath for the very first time after an intense boxing session. For so many of them, it was their first time. And after doing it, they absolutely loved it. It's a great way to build up your mental resilience. But what's amazing about ice baths is that it can significantly reduce the inflammation being caused by your visceral fat in the first place. I always give the example, if you hit your knee and it's swollen, all you do is first put an ice pack at night, and imagine doing that for the whole of your body at least once a week. And this is an amazing recovery tool, especially post-workout. Now, I do have to say I
44 recommend no more than one ice bath per week, especially if your focus is to add muscle tissue. Now, secret number six, the fiber factory. This one is backed by solid long-term research. Consume 10 plus g of soluble fiber daily. A landmark study showed that for every 10 grams of increased soluble fiber, visceral fat accumulation decreased by 3.7% over 5 years. Now these are your best sources of fiber. Avocados, oats, Brussels sprouts, flax seeds, bilium husk, pselium husk. Soluble fiber improves your insulin sensitivity and it also feeds the beneficial gut bacteria that produce short chain fatty acids.
29 Both of these mechanisms help target visual fat. Now, the next three secrets are where most people are completely sabotaging their results. Quick question, which one of these secrets so far have surprised you the most? Let me know. Now, secret number seven is sleep optimization. The stat is super sobering. Research shows that sleeping less than 6 hours per night is associated with an increase in visual fat accumulation over time. Now, you may be asking, okay, why is that? Now poor sleep reduces adopeneectin your fat fighting hormone and it also elevates cortisol which preferentially stores fat in the visceral region. Now these are nonnegotiables for visceral fat loss. It's 7 to 9 hours of quality sleep. A
16 cool dark room. I'm talking that 65 to 68 Fahrenheit. No screens 1 hour before bed. Consistent sleep. And my client Sandra, when we started working together, all we did was focus on her sleep in the first month and she lost 3 in off of her waist without changing anything else. And this is the same for so many of my clients. It's one of the first things we identify when we start working together and it's usually the missing link. So getting great sleep doesn't start at night. It actually starts in the morning. So I want you to write these steps down. So this is step one. When you wake up, get light exposure. Look out your window. I don't want you to look directly into the sun. Let's actually not do that. And what this does is that it resets your internal clock. So in 16 hours from now,
04 your body can express the sleepiness hormone called melatonin. Now, step two, 10 hours before bed, stop drinking caffeine. So why is that? After 6 hours have passed from drinking a cup of coffee or a preworkout that you just drank, you may be struggling to fall asleep because after 6 hours, half of that preworkout or half of that coffee is still in your bloodstream. So, if you have a bedtime of 10 p.m., you need to stop drinking caffeine at middle of the day, 12:00 noon. Step three, stop eating 3 hours before bed. This really relates to the first secret that I mentioned. Step four, stop drinking liquids 2 hours before bed. And if you must, if you're really thirsty, just take a sip of something. Step five is you want to reduce your screen exposure. And if you
52 can stop it altogether or just simply buy some blue light blocking glasses and you'll see this change everything for you. Now, secret number eight. Here's what most cardio junkies just don't understand. Research consistently shows that resistance training reduces visceral fat even without overall weight loss. And this is the mechanism. Building muscle improves insulin sensitivity and also glucose metabolism. This will overall reduce your body's tendency to store visceral fat. And you don't need a complicated program. I simply just want you to train a minimum of three times per week and a maximum of six. And you want to focus on the compound movements. I'm talking squats,
38 deadlifts, any pressing movements. My preference is to dumbbell pressing and progressively overload. That's the key. Which sexily means increasing your reps, increasing your weight or doing both over time. And you will see that this will continue challenging your muscles and growing it. And you will see amazing results just doing three times per week at minimum. And if you have time, you can go to that four to six range. But since you have stayed here so long, here's another nugget. On that same resources page at sculptbycience.com, there is a free workout plan as well for 3day, 4day, 5day, and 6day training plans. I want you to win. That's why I say I am your coach. Now, secret number nine, the final secret ties everything
25 together. And certain supplements have strong evidence supporting visceral fat reduction. Number one, omega-3 fatty acids. I recommend two to three grams daily and research shows that it reduces inflammation and it also improves fat metabolism. Number two is magnesium glycinate or magnesium L3enate about 400 mg before bed. This will help your sleep quality and also improve insulin sensitivity. The next one, vitamin D3 with K2. Now, usually 2,000 to 4,000 IUs daily. Now, low levels of vitamin D is correlated to increased visual fat. Another one that I can recommend is green tea extract. And studies show that it does enhance fat oxidation
10 particularly during exercise. So, always choose quality supplements and do if you must consult with your health care provider, especially if you're taking medication. Now, I know you're thinking, Dr. Mike, this is so overwhelming. Here's how to implement this without really burning out. So week one, start with secrets 1, three, and four. Meal timing, morning walks, and a protein breakfast. Week three and four, add secrets 2 and six, a weekly fast and a fiber increase. Week 5 to six, add secrets seven and eight, your sleep optimization and your strength training. And then week 7 to 8, add secret 5 to 9, cold exposure and the targeted supplements. And what I want you to do instead of just simply tracking your
56 weight, track your waist measurement weekly. And also you'll see that the circumference around your belly button will decrease, right? And visal fat often shows up here first. So here's what's really happening when you're implementing these secrets. You're creating a metabolic environment that specifically is targeting the visceral fat through number one, enhanced insulin sensitivity, through the meal timing and the fiber. You're also increasing fat oxidation, which is that fat burning through the fasted walking and the cold exposure. You're optimizing your hormones through sleep, the strength training, and you're also cleaning up all of your dead and unwanted cells through the autophagy and fasting. And this isn't just about looking better. It's about dramatically reducing your
44 risk of disease. So, here's my challenge. Pick three secrets from the list, just three, and commit to them at least 14 days. Then come back and tell me in the comments which three you pick, what changed, and what even surprised you, and I read every comment, and I'll personally respond to as many as I can and whatever questions you have. I really hope this information was helpful. If you want my 30-day guide to being able to kill all of your visceral fat, you can watch this video right here. But I'll see you guys in the next one. Cheers.
