Top Certifications You Need to Work in Canada’s Trade Industry

0:46 without no certification but that was then. right now due to the competition and uh a lot of things going on right now you know like a lot of people applying for the same jobs and all that you know to to be ahead your competitors uh I will advise you I would advise you to get a certification so there are so many entry- level jobs around if you if you're in Canada and you want to migrate to Albata this video is for people uh in Canada not outside Canada because the immigration rules has changed right now. So, I don't really have much information for like people that need LMI or or anything. But if you find your way to Canada and you want to come to this

So uh if you plan like you want to come to this province, you love our part and you don't mind our cold because during the summer is always hot and during the winter it is always cold like it's always cold. So uh if you don't mind all this and you want to come here most company and you want to work in the trade sector most company will not hire you as an apprentice right from time you know because you don't even have any experience. So now apprenticeship here in Canada apprenticeship here in Canada is different from Nigeria or from I

So most company will not want to hire you like most company don't just hire people as an apprentice like so they will always want to hire you as an entry- levelvel job you know like a job whereby uh just to learn the basic you know the thing about the industry depending on the industry that you have if like for me and I'm an everyday technician so uh I'm going to talk more about my line here but it's the same thing with other you know industry here in Canada so in Canada so especially in the trade sector here. We don't just generalize things like okay this is how it is all over. No, every province has their own rules and regulations. So if you plan to come here

3:05 and you know to work in the trade sector I will advise you to get this certification like this certification is very very important and without this with this certification you'll be above any any of your competitors like you will be above everybody. So now and most company will choose you you know uh if you have this certification and the first certification is the cso like the common safety orientation. Common safety orientation is the number one you know uh training you can do it online. You can get this ticket this certification online uh and it cost maybe about $50 or something. So common safety orientation will teach you about like the name said

3:50 common safety orientation. So it will teach you about the basic things about safety, how to walk safe, how to you know you can see me with my safety glass. So now safety as the name said will teach you everything about safety like is the let me say is the first thing anybody in this trade industry like that is the first certification of the first course that you have to go through. So you can do it online. It cost about $50 or so. So you can register it online here in Canada. So now spend that $50. That $50 can get you a job of $40 per hour or $50 per hour. So that's a common safety is very very important like it will teach you everything about safety basic things about safety like how to walk safe how

4:37 to behave safe how to you know wear everything the meaning of this the safety glass so you can see so uh it's going to show you everything like it's going to teach you everything train you everything about safety so now and another certification I will recommend you need to have is the TGD So transportation of dangerous groups. So it's very very important if you want to work here in the trade industry, you need a a TGD ticket, a TGD certification. It is very very very important. So TDD, you need to have it. Like the name said, transportation of dangerous goods. It's going to train you on everything about dangerous goods, chemicals, how to, you know, behave

5:24 yourself, how to work safe around chemicals and all that because we are dealing with so many chemicals. You can see so there's one behind me here. So is uh TT is going to train you everything about how to you know behave in a safe manner around gas, around chemicals and all that. So another um ticket I recommend is Wimix. Wimix have these three tickets like I said uh CSO TGD and Wimix have that three tickets then start looking for job with that three tickets I will guarantee. See Wimix is the warehouse uh Aidious ticket. So that will take you on how to you know uh the common uh what's it called issues in the

6:10 warehouse. So the common safety uh was it called? So Wimix. So now you need Wimix. So Wimix will train you on how to you know handle yourself, how to work safe in the warehouse. So is a warehouse uh training course. So now and all this you know tickets all the certification can be done online. You can do you know you can do it online then start looking for job. There are three certification cso, wimix and TGD. they'll start looking for job with all the certification without certification. So now these are entry- levelvel certification that you need to if you want to work in the trade industry you need everything that certification get it get them you know

6:55 uh you can get them online you can register online there's website just search for them online and there are so many website that you can it doesn't matter so anyone so get them then start looking for job with these three certification you will get entry- level job and after working for a a while company will offer you an apprentice. So after working for a while like most of the time after working with them for like 6 months 1 year then you know with an opportunity to grow most company in Alvata offer opportunity to grow program whereby you'll be able to after working for a year they will give you another post you know they will promote you they will promote you so far you a good staff so far you are not causing trouble so which I know like like people don't like being
