0:00 because i haven't seen the digimon movie in several years how about i try to retell the story from memory i think this will be a fun interesting change of pace video i have no idea how long it's going to be it could be an hour it could be two parts i really don't know yet but we're gonna find out so let's hop right on in the video okay so let's talk about the digimon movie and how it achieved the greatest feat out of all digimon media ever created since the show began it gave us the did you rep no no i don't know what it was with the nine is i think some executives in charge of making cartoons just saw a kid rapping in the street
0:46 once and three other kids going yeah that's cool and then apparently just rap was cool everywhere for kids and they just felt every need to make everything into a rap song never really understood that like digirap was cringy back then it's cringier now and i'm glad i wasn't the only one who cringed when i heard that because they put the word digitude in it do i need to say more the giraffe was awful i think it just helps solidify digimon history even more because now we all remember the movie for that really bad rap okay okay okay so it was a little better than just the rap so let's talk about it now the digimon movie is three separate movies all squashed into one i thought it was really dumb as a kid because i didn't understand and i thought i was just not
1:32 really following the story all that well and it was all weird but it turns out no it's just three movies kudos to the writers for being able to slap all those into one like giant movie like i don't good job i don't really remember the last part i'll try and maybe briefly go over it but um didn't really remember it because it wasn't that good to me i i was all about the original digidestine so i just would just watch the good part over and over again which is the middle part and without further ado and enough rattling let's jump on in the movie i'm going to try and pick out from my brain what i remember from my last few weeks and i have watched this movie a few dozen times okay so i'm gonna pick from my brain what i remember from this movie having watched it to death as a child i don't need to go back and watch the movie because i'm pretty sure i remember
2:17 it by heart so let's hop on in i don't know why i did that no okay so our movie starts out in prehistoric times this is the 90s there is a giant dinosaur and a giant prehistoric bird going at it in the middle of street they fighting ty blows the whistle the giant parent gets cancelled and that is the end of the first part of the movie i mean the rest will all just fluff kari and ty do kid things where they find a coromant it turns into a big agamon and then there's a giant gray man and then it just defeats this giant parrot and yep oh yeah the original digidestined also it happened and that's why they're digidestined because screw
3:04 all the other eight million kids that were standing there they don't have special qualities like they were just normal like unspecial kids no no those kids who also stood there and drooled slightly and did nothing different to anyone else just got picked i don't i guess they were scanning the area instead of hey let's send this giant deadly bird down to earth they can't stop it right but we just really need to scan these children is everyone okay with this okay good send the bird if one of them dies oh well collateral damage ps descend into giant dinosaur damage control should be good forget all the things we're going to destroy in the process but hey we're going to find our eight digits
3:49 i i assume that was jenna's plan okay so it wasn't quite like that the egg just kind of appears falls through a hole in the digi world by the way this is a giant egg so i don't know how big this hole was and how you all didn't notice it but giant egg falls from the sky and then a tiny little bird good it's literally like a giant egg and then the bird this big comes out of it like really was that necessary that was a little overkill i don't i quite honestly i just don't want to meet the bird that birthed that parrot it's probably dead from having to like give birth to an egg that big let's be real but i don't think digimon actually gave breath i think their eggs were just kind of
4:34 phased into existence but if they did then god praised that mother bird she she dead after giving birth to that thing all right so that's basically the first part of the movie covered let's move on to the good bit which is where all the action happens and it's the longest segment so breathe how does this open so it starts out with our deoboromon i should probably check i searched diaboromon and it came out with diabetes so yes i just i i knew but i just wanted to be sure something i was typing out dear mormon it was like diabetes i'm like okay that's not what i want but
5:21 sure all right so our movie starts off with our villain deoboromon he has actually just been born into a little baby version i cannot remember all the stages so i'm just gonna call him diaboromon and basically he he he's born and izzy's like watching and he just turns into this squishy little alien jellyfish thing with like one eye he's basically in his baby form and he appears on this one computer and then he just starts attacking the world like a virus multiplying digivolving hitting the next level and basically causing chaos all throughout the city i believe it was uh definitely a city-wide blackouts to begin with and then it spread across the country and then eventually to the whole world
6:06 basically traffic lights are going down everything's going down it is the end of the world everybody who's been screaming about the apocalypse happening is just having a field day like dante from 101 dalmatians because it is finally here the world is ending okay so it's not that chaotic yet this is humanity okay so unless the entire grid goes down for more than 24 hours we're not gonna start panicking we're just gonna be like oh hey my phone is glitching actually no this wasn't this was like early 2090s so if your phone glitched yeah it kind of sucked but your phone didn't really do much so it was just kind of like well that sucks and then you just go use your house phone or you use a pay phone or you it didn't really matter it wasn't that big of a deal it sucked but you know like the traffic lights are
6:52 all going haywire and electricity is going haywire and to be honest the people don't seem to react in this movie you know if this was kind of happening i'm pretty sure there'll be a bit more concern from the populace but then again probably not like unless their lives are affected directly they generally don't pay attention so if there's just some minor traffic light issues going on then fair play they're not going to notice but what does strike me is weird is the digidestines have been dealing with digimon forever and they don't seem to like pick up on the fact that hey maybe these power like fluctuations are a result of something happening in the digi world no they're just going on about their lives and we'll get into that in a minute so for this movie they need to narrow down the cast a bit so it's only gonna have four of the original kids instead of eight and that's what i mean by how the
7:38 kids just aren't there and it's really kind of frustrating so anyway our movie starts out izzy's started to notice all this technology issues that are going on of course it's izzy so he cares i mean this is his world this is his life his computer has stopped working i think we can all relate so he hops on over to ty's house and he's like yo i think there's something going on in the digi world i need to use your computer because your brick of a computer is better than my laptop which to be fair even though izzy had this like air quote high-tech laptop pc was probably a little more powerful but even then you could probably run paint on it and maybe save three documents so not that much more powerful but he could
8:24 connect to the internet i guess i don't know it was i don't know the specs of stuff back in the day but i don't think it was that much better so anyway izzy's been watching this digi egg and he runs up to ty's house and ty's helping his mom ty's mom has asked tai to get him an egg from the fridge so he goes to the fridge he pulls that egg out of the fridge and then he hears the doorbell he goes through the door and izzy's at the door he's all sweaty and he goes he gives the egg the egg is already hatched and then ty just kind of looks at the egg like what he goes no not that egg i always loved that line in the movie and the expressions in this movie are just great just some of the way they twist faces in this art style because the art style is different too at first i didn't like it because it was like it was you could it was at that age i didn't know that it was a
9:09 different company drawing it but it was different and it looked less i might want to say cheaper but it wasn't like the cartoon and it did feel weird but honestly looking back at it now i do kind of like it it has grown on me but i didn't really like it much back then anyway back on track so yo ty is standing there with zag izzy's like can i use your computer and he's like okay so they go into the house and they get on his computer and then they start looking up all this stuff and talking about what then ty's mom is offering izzy's food this whole time ty's mom is pretty irresponsible on so many levels but she can't cook and she keeps offering izzy food and drink and he keeps taking it and ty's like uh really wouldn't do that you're probably gonna die and izzy's like yolo i'm i'm drinking this
9:55 you all just need to back off so ty's like okay have at it okay so there's back and forth going on and some other stuff probably happens but i don't really remember it oh yeah they they talk about how sarah is mad at ty because he threw up in her hat and apparently that's a reason to be mad at your friend like just buy another hat i don't really don't tell you put it through the wash um it's not that serious but i guess when you're like 12 it is because fashion is all that but you know it's not like you did it on purpose it's not like you know what i just really want to throw up somewhere throws up in your hat like dude it was not a planned attack okay you need to calm down lady but sora is girl so she gets angry at the little things just to create drama i really think it
10:41 could have been more but they just needed an excuse for sora not to show up in this movie and that was her excuse so she's not there let's just briefly cover why the kids aren't there because i can't remember what point this is covered in the movie but i remember happening so these kids have all fought together to save the world on several occasions and they have made sacrifices but their excuse now is that they all have lives and they all need to get on with their lives and you know not save the world which has always seemed like a stupid excuse for me but anyway i'm gonna briefly explain why these kids are not available to help matt and tk do end up helping but let me just list it off okay so sora she's not there because she's mad that ty threw up in her hat world is ending valid excuse she's not answering their phone calls

12:58 grandparents house and the internet's a thing we'll get into that and sora sora's just being that [ __ ] so okay so now that we've clarified that let's hop back into the sequence of events okay so a lot of fuzzy stuff probably happens that i don't really remember so i'm not really going to talk about it let's just jump into the part that i do remember the next part i remember is them talking to jedi all the digimon show up in like pixelated forms which were super high definition looking and they were supposed to look all bit rady and choppy but because of the animation they just ended up looking way more technology advanced than they should like i get it it's the digi world they can probably do that but izzy's still running this
13:44 laptop he should be getting lag let's he's he's using dial-up in a laptop there is no way he's streaming video like this i get they're all like moving like this like it's supposed to be crispy but even then that is way too high quality this is the 90s okay they say we can send our digimon in to defeat this digimon before he becomes a problem he's a virus he's trying to destroy everything he just wants to destroy everything so we need to stop him so only ty and izzy are there at that point and right now this digimon's a rookie so they send in agumon and tantamon and they fly on in of course they get their asses kicked because it did evolves you know i never understood i know why because then there'll be no movie but if y'all if agamon had just gone
14:29 straight to mega we could have solved this problem in an instant also i don't know how the devices are connecting when the kids aren't directly there like they're like separated by the human world in the digital i don't know why am i questioning this this is a kids movie we need plot to move forward okay so kids are somehow in the 90s digitally connecting to their digimon inside the computer and the digimon are digital bowling so we don't go straight to mega no no no we try to fight them as rookies and we get our asses kicked because this digimon just suddenly did evolves out of nowhere and needs out of there fortunately instead of completely murdering our protagonist which prompts them to ask for help again and they finally get a hold of matt and tk and they make their way down there meanwhile izzy's still consuming ty's
15:16 mom's food and ty's like you're still gonna die food poisoning please stop he's like no leave me alone you're not my real dad so he just keeps drinking and consuming this food right now things are starting to escalate you got like other countries going hey we've kind of detected this problem is coming from japan so we're just gonna send in the nukes and it's starting to get real okay and they're starting to get rolling blackouts and the internet's going in and out so izzy's gonna start doing his thing and trying to keep things running also um to go back to the fact that it's the 90s and video quality for a moment they are watching this battle happen inside the computer so is the entire outside the computer
16:01 streaming video in like 4k in the 90s can we just how like the quality of what they are watching and the way it's there is no way in the 90s you would take 20 years to download a two-minute music video and if you're lucky your computer wouldn't blue screen and just you'd have to start the process over again i mean you're telling me that i had to wait 20 minutes for a web page to load and a video to buffer so these kids can watch these digimon fight in real time with amazing streaming quality please tell me your provider i know this is japan but no you weren't that far ahead of us okay just calm down movie there are some things i will believe and i will take

17:34 the original anyway so i'm just going to keep rolling with it so they go into fight giant white spider-man giant white spider-man creeped me the out as a kid like you don't even i didn't like spiders like in england we get these big dark brown spindly spiders who just like run out of the couch like then you go just stand there for a minute they go and just run back under the couch just enough to scare you and they're they're pretty big too and then sometimes they'll run out from the under the couch and be like oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god we're getting just run back under the couch again literally just run out from under the couch so you scream and lift up your feet they'll run around circles like three times and then run back into the same couch i english spiders are weird okay i don't question it
18:19 it just happens but anyway i did i'm not a huge fan of spiders but this thing and the way it moved creeped me out as a kid i did not like it so we are in for round two with you mormon he's still trying to find willis the kid of this movie who is trying to be located he's an american just we'll get into that later but anyway he's trying to find willis and ty and that large like we're gonna beat him up okay so he's champion level at this point and of course our amazingly smart heroines still try to fight him as a rookie before they did evolve into their champion farms but at this point the virus has grown to the point where he can pretty much kick the ass out of their champion forms so they have to go to ultimate
19:06 still didn't go straight for the mega no we're just we're playing this game we are padding this movie out we need to entertain the children spider-man's all kicking all kind of ass and izzy's like oh god i'm gonna throw up now because mama's cooking's kicking in pretty fast so he gets up and runs to the bathroom to go pray to the porcelain gods that he survives this ordeal and ty is left with the computer now this computer is running 4k video in the 90s it's already at maximum power i don't know how it's still running but tai thinks that he can scream at the computer and hit it so he's hitting the monitor and this is when it blew screens and they have to reboot the whole computer izzy comes back
19:53 he starts rebooting the computer and all dramatic stuff is happening they're all screaming each other each other this is when tyre reveals why he won't call oh yeah he's been saying he won't call sora i admit i forgot that he's been saying he won't call sarah and then he calls so and then he's saying why he won't call sarah for help forgot that and source still [ __ ] though because she way overreacted to that and she refused to call tai and i don't talk to him at all so that is it that was it too they were in a conflict and they weren't talking to each other so they were just being children even if you called she says in the movie was that ty and then the mom's like no and then she probably would have answered it anyway so you know it doesn't really matter minor point anyway ty decides to reveal why he's not talking her at this point and this is
20:39 like yo this is stupid y'all need to call her and he's like nah nah nah i ain't got time for that so he doesn't end up calling her because they reboot the computer matt starts screaming at them because the digimon just stopped moving and spider-man just disappeared again yielded off into the sunset of the digital realm okay so your boy matt he's the edge lord he's gotta yell at ty and now they gotta have a cry about how their digimon almost died because they're like hey let's try to fight this guy as a champion even though we just lost and not go straight for the mega because we're special we have two extra people surely we can win now okay so i mentioned that the rest of the world is getting angry and they're starting to target japan and figure out
21:25 where this digimon is and the reason they're able to do that is because izzy hooks up to a military satellite for some reason i'm pretty sure probably because the power went out they lost connection it's dial-up not exactly reliable but they needed a faster connection so he connects to the satellite and the army is able to pinpoint where this digimon is and they're like yo it's in japan so they start launching their missiles and this is when they start getting the little countdown timer like we have 10 minutes to defeat this thing or these missiles are going to strike and they're not going to be able to deflect the missiles and the whole world is watching at this point they are somehow streaming live on every computer screen across the world of course we all thought this was really cool as a kid but there was no way you
22:11 could possibly do it back then i mean they're predicting the future and of course at this point they are streaming live across the globe in the 90s early 2000s let's not question it okay all the kids are watching everybody's watching and of course they're going to start sending email because dming and twitter and all that kind of stuff was not a thing so that kid willis izzy somehow conveniently knows this kid and he puts out a thing on the internet saying hey can anybody help get in contact with this kid his digimon is going pretty wild he needs to control his children you all need to get over here real quick and deal with this issue you created okay so izzy has put out his email to the world like the smart kid he is his
22:56 spam box is going off now i believe that his laptop is connected to ty's computer so that the digimon can connect to ty's computer from the laptop and get onto the internet so izzy has just shared his email with the world and um he's getting a crap ton of emails in and it's lagging his computer so guess what's going to happen we'll go and find out so final battle starts they're starting to target japan we have a countdown everybody's watching but now the final battle is ready to begin padaman and tenemont are out they are no longer part of the battle they are not worth bringing along they are not worth bringing along because they just going to die so we have entered the final battle the final countdown all the copyright music is going off
23:41 there is a timer the missiles are coming and they need to stop everything so when they arrive at the final battle dearborn i believe is in his ultimate form now but there's like a million of him so it's two against a million i think we all know how well this is going to go but when they try to fight diaboromon they're lagging then just dear boremon shoots them down before they really even get a chance to do anything which is a savage power move i respect that but what happens next the digimon movie doesn't even try to explain it they don't know they've just given up at this point trying to explain anything so basically goes like this for reasons we can't understand tai and matt felt so sorry for their digimon companions and their connection was so strong that

25:59 megamon i think oh my come on that's not it omniman oh megamon come on i was close so omnimon's taking his sweet time to digivolve he just kind of floats there swings his sword and all these digimon just start blowing up all around him starts firing his cannon you know shooting the cannon at the world throwing all these digimon trying to find the original omni mod he finally pins points the last one omniman's there like trying to shoot this last one but it's moving too fast because they're lagging because of all these emails coming in and is like yo kids you need to back off and he's like hey wait a minute i'm a nerd i can just somehow send all these emails from my computer
26:45 to wherever omnimon is even though we don't know where he's like based they just kind of send all the emails to somewhere i'm sure he states it in the movie but i can't really remember and if he doesn't well emails just go out emails just they just get sent and then the time is like down to 10 seconds now so we are down in the wire all these emails are flying over and izzy's like keep sending them kids and we have a whole eight seconds at this point and you know what that means in the world of anime we have plenty of time to pose and flex on our enemies so that is what omnimo is going to do like yo come at me bro and then like oh wait no you can't you lagging so i'm going to come at you and then he goes like this and he just flies towards the enemy and like stabs him and stabs him right in the chest like this and then he stabs him right through the
27:31 timer for the missile apparently and um yeah i think there was more than missiles and i remember i think the people couldn't control them anymore and they just somehow i don't remember there were missiles for some reason it wasn't necessary it just kind of happened um that is generally humans first response to everything to just throw missiles at it hope it solves the problem so whether the humans did it or the obama and did it i don't think it really matters the end results would have been the same some would have launched a missile let's be real the day is saved thanks to the powerpuff girls and omnimon and now everybody's happy and mimi's just off being mimi in new york didn't really offer to help

29:02 the movie terriermon that's about it terry your mom was awesome i love terrymon so that was really the only reason i kept watching that i was never really invested in the second group of kids like i watched season two but i was never invested the same somehow end up in america and they managed to track down this willis kid that everyone was talking about in the last like honestly willis is the most irresponsible kid so he had twin digimon one and he tried to like gen she tried to hack into one of them and change them and rewrite them for some reason because he's really nerdy like izzy and that's how they bonded so he tried to hack into his digimon and do something and it created this virus inside this digimon and then it created like it was supposed to be a lot mom and it was supposed to
29:48 be teriman's twin then digimon like mutated and it became what they were fighting in the first movie but anyway so that's the origin story of that that i remember and it turns into coco mon just oh that digimon did not age well i just oh no i just suddenly had a flash of it in my brain like wow that did not age well oh okay but anyway moving past that um they somehow all end up in america cause they're the kids in america [Music] in america anyway they all end up in america somehow they all hook up with willis i don't really remember i have a vague recollection of willis
30:34 fighting the pokemon thing and then like kari shows up i think like gautaman shows up and there's an altercation and wind happens and then the enemy just kind of disappears and they're like yo what was that some other stuff happens and then they end up in america and then there's more talking and then they end up in a camp and willis is crying i don't know if he's an empath or something but i always find that seeing kind of awkward because he just suddenly starts going good that's so sad i'm like oh my god please stop but anyway that happens and then some more stuff happens and then they end up at a final battle and they're and they're trying to fight giant dark
31:20 bunny man he's digital now into giant evil bunny and um he's trying to kill them all they pull out these golden digi eggs and they're like yo we're about to hit the next level so cherry mon and beemon agamon 2 did you evolve into golden armor forms and start beating up this bunny rabbit and then willis i believe they're finally about to beat it and then like willis is like no don't kill it and then it just dies this is my knowledge they defeat it it gets reborn i think happy endings all around it was really boring i'm sorry it's

32:52 that was the best part of the whole movie i'm just kidding they played for a really weird animated cartoon and and it was like 30 minutes and it was almost the length of the movie and kids cried and left the theater because they came to see the digimon movie it was just angela anaconda for like 30 solid minutes that's like good job you just basically patted out your movie by making three movies into one and then you shoved a special on it that was 20 minutes at the beginning so um kudos but yes so that was my recollection of the digimon movie the retelling if you will i believe it was better than the original more thought out and i'd probably definitely no i'm pretty sure i hit all the important story beats and some of them are probably out of order
