0:00 hello everyone welcome back to another video tutorial today i'm going to be showing you how to add contacts on what's app uh so this will work for both ios and android obviously it'll look slightly different because of the obvious ui differences but let's go ahead and dive into it there are two different ways to easily add and manage contacts within whatsapp so what you want to do for the first method is navigate to your contacts or wherever you add a contact on your phone so for me on my iphone i will just tap on the phone icon here it'll bring up a list of all of my contacts and i want to tap on the addition symbol in the upper right hand corner as if i'm adding a contact to my phone which i am but we'll go ahead and type in their first and last
0:45 name and then add a phone number as well and you also have to make sure of one thing the person obviously has to use whatsapp and it has to be connected to this specific phone number so go ahead and add the information now also a quick note here make sure you enter in the area code or country code before the number to make sure you enter it in correctly so i've done that here just to show you guys exactly what that looks like once you've added that contact make sure they use whatsapp and then go ahead and just tap done whether you be on ios or android it doesn't matter go ahead and hit done now that you've added that contact and then next just hop back over to the whatsapp application go ahead and open it up and then here under chats or calls wherever you are go ahead and tap the pencil icon there in the upper right hand corner and then just search for that person down below and if they do
1:30 use whatsapp they will be listed here below if you've just added them now let's say that you want to add them within the whatsapp application you don't want to go roundabout way and do it you know adam as a contact that kind of kills two birds with one stone but if that's not the way you want to go about doing it basically what you'll do here is you'll open up whatsapp like i've done here and then go ahead and tap on the pencil icon once more in the upper right hand corner of the application or wherever it's located on your device and then you'll see something here that says new contact go ahead and tap on new contact this looks very similar to your contact adding in ios or google or android whatever you're using go ahead and add their first last name their phone number and then go ahead and tap the save button in the upper right hand corner the good thing about doing it this way as you can see i made up a
2:16 phone number obviously and it says that this phone number is not on whatsapp and it gives you an invite link where you can just tap that blue text there that says invite to whatsapp i'll zoom in on that right now for you and you can just invite them to utilize whatsapp and it invites them to go ahead and download the free app and go ahead and sign up through their easy tutorial and basically it just solves all of your problems for you but once you're done just go ahead and tap save and you are good to go so that's how you add folks in the whatsapp application if you're looking to add contacts if you have any questions please put those in the comments section down below don't forget if this video helped you out don't forget to like share and subscribe and i will see you guys in the next video [Music]
