06 Reverend Muslims, Every human being has a big matter that keeps him/her busy, affects him/her, and often makes him/her forget other things related to the world. In accordance with the size of the matter of that person, he/she is seen to leave anything other than the matter. The bigger the matter, the more the others are forgotten and abandoned completely. It is unthinkable that a person who is facing the issue of losing his/her leg to talk about the type of food that is prepared that day.
52 Because he/she has a great preoccupation that faces him/her. One’s wife has left the house and gone somewhere; he, whose wife's whereabouts is unknown, does not care to paint his shoes. Essentially, he has already forgotten many such issues. In accordance with the size of the matter, it makes everything else be forgotten and abandoned. Who will determine these matters? Or based on what will the matter gain importance? How do we understand the magnitude of the great works that are outside of our lives?
41 Perhaps this last statement is more inclusive. We will find it in the borders that have been put by God, may His glory be exalted, in the light of conscience and human compassion, with reason and logic, with the help and grace of God... In each era, some matters become important. In the era of the Messenger of God, peace, and blessings be upon him, a matter had gained importance. Maybe there will come a time when warfares become important, conquering the world becomes important, establishing civilizations, establishing properties gains importance. Sometimes it gains importance to give people a solid satisfaction that they need.
31 Faith gains importance. It gains importance to save people from enjoying their own desires. It gains importance to live and keep the desires of God alive. This is one of the obvious matter that almost every person who has a conscience with the guidance of the mind is able to feel. A person who is not regretful in the face of a generation out of control then it means that he/she does not carry heart and conscience. If a person whose child or a relative has been irreligious is not regretful for them, then this means that he/she has lost his natural faculties. If such disintegrations, breaking-aways
19 and living in vain follow one another in the stage of a nation, if that nation stays indifferent and numb then it cannot be said that that nation carries a heart and conscience. Everyone who has a heart and conscience should be very regretful at heart in the face of people's drifting away from religion approaching irreligion, deviations from the faith and preferring unfaithfulness, giving up moralities and the Daily Prayers and preferring immorality whether they are relatives, friends or completely strangers whether they are relatives, friends or completely strangers
09 although these issues have their own degrees of importance. If all these do not create a great deal of grief in his/her heart then we conclude that he/she does not carry a heart. If the people who regretted themselves with very small issues are not grieved by this issue, they have doubts about the consequence of unbelief. I request your attention. I will say something at the end of the issues that I present one by one as in the form of law; if a person is not affected in the face of these collapses, dissolution, and terminations, then it essentially means that he/she is, in fact, suspicious about the fate of this course. In other words, he/she does not believe in the resurrection, he/she does not believe in an account,
58 he/she does not believe in emerging the presence of a God, he/she does not believe in eternal felicity. If he/she is not regretful in the face of his/her child getting out of control, losing morality we will throw his/her every evidence in this regard backward. Because the first apparent sign of believing in this matter is the efforts that are to be displayed to save his/her child. There will be some works that are to be done in this course. May God Almighty make us able to understand this issue within the realm of its importance. Here, since the Messenger of God, peace, and blessings be upon him, has opened his eyes to life and understood the meaning of life,
50 he has occupied himself with this concern and accepted it as the biggest issue. The Messenger of God, peace, and blessings be upon him, had sacrificed his wealth on this matter. He had spent the wealth of his wife on this matter, as well. He couldn't have a moment of peace due to this matter. They said, "Your head is broken." "I don't know. My real concern is huge!" "Your tooth is broken!" "I don't know. My real concern is huge!" "You are being forced to leave your hometown." "I don't know. My real concern is huge!" "You have been an immigrant!" "I don't know. My real concern is huge!" he had always said. He always had his cause on his mind. This matter made him almost suffocate to such a degree that the Holy Qur’an addressed him:
37 "It may be thou frettest thy soul with grief, that they do not become Believers." (26:3) Here, it is the expression of the heart of faith ... Here, it is the expression of the heart of conscience... "It may be thou frettest thy soul with grief, that they do not become Believers." Let see together how he suffered, how he was at the head of his uncle, Abu Talib. Abu Talib had served to the Messenger of God and protected him from dangers for almost 40 years. He had not protected the Messenger of God because of his prophethood but because he was a relative, he was a kin to him. If he had done it because of his prophethood,
24 then the ice in his heart would have been thawed and he would have thawed out in the sea of the Messenger of God, as well. But he was only doing so with the feeling of closeness and compassion. But the Messenger of God wanted something from him at the head of him in order not to leave his patronage unrequited. "Uncle! I do not want too much from you. Say 'There is no God, but God' so that I can intercede to you in the Judgment Day." He was hesitant we learn again from the Messenger of God: "How you live, you die like that, how you die you will be resurrected like that." Abu Talip had not lived in the realm of 'there is no God, but God' so that he could die in this course! God was not going to grant him it at that moment. The Messenger of God was always insisting.
11 There were notables of Quraysh at the head of Abu Talib's deathbed. Abu Jehiel, the father of ignorance, was there, as well. When the Messenger of God tried to convince him to say 'there is no God, but God', he was saying: "Are you deviating from your ancestors' religion?" The Messenger of God could not persuade Abu Talib. if one is stuck in preconceived opinion, that person cannot be convinced! The last words of a Muslim are “there is no God, but God”. However, Abu Talib’s were “I am dying on the religion of Abd al-Muttalib”.
58 It is known how Abd al-Muttalib had died in the era of ignorance. At that moment the Messenger of God collapsed as if the dome of the building he was in collapsed on his head. He had protected the Messenger of God for 40 years, endured so many sufferings for him; he had witnessed the light of the Messenger and been exposed to deathly dangers then he passed away while he missed the opportunity of the intercession of the Messenger of God. The Messenger of God collapsed. He was so depressed at that moment that he was uttering these words:
45 “As long as I am allowed, I will always be praying for your forgiveness. If God does not allow me to do so then I will submit to His order." God revealed a verse at that very moment. "It is not fitting, for the Prophet and those who believe, that they should pray for forgiveness for Pagans, even though they be of kin, after it is clear to them that they are companions of the Fire." (9:113)
31 The later verse was a consolation to the Messenger of God. "My beloved servant! You cannot guide whomever you want! God guides whomever He wills. The Divine will do not realize in this course. He did not turn to God so that God bestows the guidance of His!.. So do not be regretful! Do not let your pure heart be upset. The real closeness stems from the devotion to God, not from the bonds of blood." Yes, what depresses a believer, what makes a believer suffer, is that being irreligious of a person. What if a thousand people become irreligious every day!. What if a thousand dead lose their faith every day!.. What if thousands of people deviate from religion!..
22 Any person that does not feel regretful in the face of this dreadful scene does not carry heart and conscience. Then one should try to explain the cause he/she regards as important to the others based upon his/her faith's and intelligence's magnitude. His/her big concern should be explicate God to others. A person who is engaged in a political party walks from village to village, he tells the story of Ali or Veli or any other one who is the leader of the political party. I'm telling you, doesn't God have value in your eyes as much as the leader of the party does! I am telling you, is the Messenger of God does not worth as much as the leader of your party in your eyes? If you do not explicate your God to others by going from village to village and from town to town,
09 if your heart is not regretful in the face of the youth's getting out of morality then we have been corrupted, then our hearts have been rotted. May God help you! May He let us understand the great truth. God knows how long these people will crawl. It is certain that it will be so until the moment when this nation turns to God. May God forgive us with His bounty and lead us to the straightway. This was the cause and concern of the Messenger of God. Occupy yourselves with the cause of our Prophet. This is what God wants. Occupy yourselves with what God wants.
58 Live with your heart, live with your conscience, make the decisions you make under the light of your heart and conscience and try to make the works you do to be heard. Ali, may God be pleased with him, had been commissioned by the Messenger of God for the conquest of Khaybar. When Khaybar could not be conquered, the Messenger of God said: "Tomorrow I will give this flag to such a person that he loves God and the Messenger, and God and His Messenger love him." That night everyone expected the flag to be given to him the next day.
48 Omar was also waiting, Abu Bakr was also waiting, Osman was also waiting (may God be pleased with them). Blessed Ali, whose eyes were painful and had a disease in his eyes, came to the presence of our Prophet, and he spread his blessed saliva on his eyes and healed them. When the Messenger of God gave him the flag, it was seen who was loved by God and His Messenger. "Walk as you are!" he said. "Then explicate God wherever you go!" He said: "Explicate God to those who you will come across! It is better for you that a man is guided to straightway via you
35 then you are blessed with a mass of goods, camels, and sheep by God." he said. To be instrumental in the guidance of a man to the straightway, the faith of a single individual from this nation, is more important than the complete death of this country. The collapse of all Izmir to the ground due to an earthquake is a very simple occurrence compare to the deviation of a single individual from the religion. Because the people who die, even if they die, they go to Paradise if they gain the will of God. What about those who are to stay in eternal Hell, who have forever lost God, forever lost the Holy Qur'an! That is why, the most important matter of a believer is to explicate God, to explicate the Messenger of God.
21 You will listen to the preacher. You are going to say what he says, and you are going to spread what he spreads. You will be a partner in great truth so that you live together and be resurrected together. May God be with you and help!
