0:45 little bit there we go interview with my friend rico heck yeah okay all right check it out so guess what digimon episode 41 monmon park in the fog takaru and yamado go to search for food suddenly a theme park called mamamon park appears before them they are begged by a digimon to stay and stop by the park but what awaits them is not a fun happy place no it wasn't fun no it wasn't happy either in fact takaru thought it was the opposite all the gangs together it feels good we're just you know another batch of one-off good episodes and

1:31 things start off a little slow with gomamon massaging joe and they're just hanging out yeah they all split off to look for supplies in yamato and takaru and their digimon come across this theme park and who's there but opossum mon [Music] immediately listen i was immediately wary because i thought of the jojo episode in the theme park and i hated that episode because it made me frustrated so i was like already ready to fight as soon as they got there yes i hate it i hate it oh my god an abandoned like theme park of any kind like something bad's gonna appear i mean there's a left 4 dead campaign all about that it's like a scooby-doo premise

2:18 it is i like how they uh they let you in that opossum on is bad right away when he goes like yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah i was turned off to that because it made me think of the mizune from soul eater and they're bad guys at the beginning oh yeah the little mice i was like yeah i was already like the everything about this is bad and i hate it that little snicker was his tally ho yeah exactly exactly oh my god but like let's be honest though like the best thing in the episode was the flashbacks to even younger yamato yes he is like a little he's like a little guy like takaroo like he was probably standing in between a bunch of big people like doing this

3:06 what talker who does like back then you know he was just a little little guy i i do like seeing them remember a happy moment when their family was together and yeah you know it being such a probably the only happy memory takaru has of them yeah because i mean he's technically like eight we've heard but here's the deal that is a baby [Laughter] it was funny how he threw yamato under the bus though for being afraid of the haunted house when they were younger yeah but it was paid off because when they win the haunted house yamada's like of all places

3:52 like what he's like oh nothing like i'm totally a badass i'm so cool yeah of course takaru gets kidnapped by waru manzaiman the the real mascot of the theme park uh i wish we saw we saw a statue of him but there there's a regular one called manzamon the yellow guy and we don't we don't see him in this show unfortunately uh but war room like actual form he looks like the teddy bear of a kid who's like who plays too hard like that his partner would be uh his partner would be sid from toy story dude that's what i'm saying my brain

4:38 toy story from toy story with a digivice than like the horror movie oh my god somebody draw that yeah and then andy has [ __ ] the regular one i like the where guru ramon it first manzaiman fight and talk goes to the animation thing like the kaiser nail the kaiser yeah they look great it's really good and they used it twice when they earned it yeah i thought they used it three times you know what let them i think 2.5 it was really good so i was like this is going to be a repeated shot like yeah like absolutely because it was so high quality and i don't mind that like no it's good uh but i also you know that the moment inside hell

5:26 or takara is like these idiots this is supposed to be a happy place and you're making it sad these morons it is like all of the and then he's just like i just needed hope and then all and then all the little digimon that have also been eaten at the theme park give him hope and oh padamon about to turn into pegasus mon again but oops it's angerman he's back he's back what a good what a nice moment that was oh there he was hey what's he gonna say now i thought the reveal of angelmon was pretty cool and i was super hyped when he showed up again that's a lot well he had a yeah he had a lot to say he did have a lot to say he was waiting for that

6:12 nice to have our our angemon dude back yes and it's like yeah you know tucker he earned this moment and he saved people and i like that this is the first time i feel like that yamado and takaru have had actually had a moment together in the show that's like them reflecting on something and right and it's not just like one of them doing something and then the other one being like oh wow it's like they like sort of work together like they're on the same mission doing the same things working towards the same goal for the first time yeah and we've heard both of them talk about each other but not them talk about like their relationship with each other right it was cool and we like felt the hope rising up because yamado helped him like get snapped out of it and then all the

6:58 other digimon started to hope they were like we gotta help [Laughter] it just kind of felt like at least to me it kind of just felt like hakuna matata like they were like hey if you just thought about like not giving a [ __ ] about this and then they were like hey yeah you're kind of right and then like the shackles like we're free like hey we don't give a [ __ ] now and then they win and then uses holy knuckle again and punches him and then oh my god oh man opossum oposum man opossum on i don't know uh his little scream before he dies is the cutest

7:44 thing [Music] he's flattened yeah yeah he's like dude it's that moment it's the moment he's contemplating his choices that's a top 10 villain death moment oh my god in this one oh yeah uh who was it and uh tank german tank drummond had a great one too yeah i just always think of veggie ones yeah veggie mom when wargreymon comes out for the first time she just burns alive disintegrated it's so good okay yeah any other any other thoughts on this

8:30 episode it's a good episode no it's just there's one the one part right at the end when um after andrew is there and everybody's like out and um the bit i don't remember the the scary big bear releases like one more attack and angel one literally is just like it didn't work yeah it's like yeah yeah yeah he's like this man is a wall yeah it was hopefully it just made me laugh yeah there's a wall of hope good one i i do like the haunted house moment with the yamadon guru man i just like the shot of them in the house together like it's like this oh like this it's good all right episode 42 king of eventers garbaman taichi and koshero who are scouting the area come across a genius inventor garbaman koshiro's eyes

9:18 sparkles he sees the number of adventures garbamon has created from junk however anatomy digimon suddenly attacks them that should just be the ending of every single episode premise uh for real yes so they're at a dump izzy meats oscar the grouch he is oscar the grouch yeah yeah but like not grouchy yeah he's oscar the intellect i will say at the beginning of this episode when we see them for the first time i was like these two are fever dreams man like what am i looking at what am i looking at yeah they would be in like some edgy like underground 70s animated movie like during a trip sequence i like yeah

10:04 [Music] had an obsession with mimi in the original show chuman and his buddy tsukemon and he's cute though i like him and he's ugly yeah he can't speak he just but no he was just like everyone i liked how he was like don't worry we learn from our mistakes when like they make the the little ice missile and it's like a dud like don't worry about it yeah we're gonna do better and i like i like he and izzy's relationship like when they go back to the lab and yeah she's all excited about that to the lab again

10:51 guys eyes sparkling he's like you've got a laugh whenever i hear that song i always feel like the lyric is we [ __ ] up back to the lab but it's not it was a cartoon network right i don't know why that's my memory just really quick towards the beginning when they're going to the lab when um they're in like the little cart or whatever and it's um tai chi the little mouse guy and augment pulling the card it's like i need three strong fourth graders to help me over here is the biggest strongest fourth grader yeah yeah he's very strong yeah he's a very strong fourth grader if they're not in fourth grade give us a break just like this little like yeah just in

11:38 the background this little parasimon back so izzy finds the little chip that comes back in an episode or two uh and we see rarman and rarman attacks and they evolve and i like how when uh garba man is impressed by seeing him evolve yeah smiles yeah he's like he feels cool for a second and then he laughs like he's kind of showing the digi vice a bit kind of like hey i look yeah that i got when i first watched this i thought garbaman was going to be like this is mine now like i'm going to disassemble it yeah we're going to it's going to i need to learn i like how grandma and after he gets eated he goes sticky the way

12:24 greymon was drawn this episode like especially towards the beginning it looked like wonky yeah it looked weird to me yeah they don't they don't always they don't always um do them well i feel like if i were running this show i would have a dedicated team just for drawing them posed after the evolution yeah like just making sure you get one really cool looking frame every time yeah yeah yeah uh but who knows i mean i that might not be possible yeah but we haven't but yeah but you can literally just like you know get all the episode like you know what the episodes are happening yeah and say we need cool poses for these digimon for these episodes cause it's like i i feel like that's just

13:11 what's missing it's just a really cool pose when they come out yeah one frame and so you know they sit with garbaman we get some more discussion of the black lightning and how rare mon is uh he's an agent of millennium mon and by that probably some random digimon that millennium ons like energy take over become evil garbaman wants revenge and i feel like this is a kid's show i was expecting them to be like garbaman revenge isn't right but izzy was like no like he's a he feels the pain of a survivor he feels the pain of a survivor yeah like this is important yeah like this is important to him yeah like the entire thing like when like when he pulls out like the ice bazooka and then like

13:56 yeah goes this is past the point of recycling yeah i think i was like he said goshiro holding the bazooka is my new religion i was like this is the funniest thing i've ever seen yeah it's garba mons garbaman ate like all of the chuman he used to have more than like yeah he had a whole whole freaking like building full of those yeah yeah like that isn't that's just like a theme of like all of these episodes yeah yeah it's like they show up there's survivors survivors go oh all the other ones are dead they got eaten they have a music track specifically yeah yeah and then and then the hero's getting sad and then they're like oh we got to save them and then they go and do and then they go save or avenge them or something it's the same

14:42 thing every time you're right but i like how in this one and in some others as well they have like a an artistry to how they present that story like you know all the empty teacups you know yeah like that's a very it's uh they're doing it a lot so i don't love it every time or at least i'm sure as we go through these episodes yeah i liked it a lot this time it happens yeah i love yeah this little flag yeah as garbamon's going into battle and flies off and he's just like waving his little white flag going back to that bazooka i love the conversation he and izzy have about like like the the you know another man's trash is another person's tragedy yeah yeah phrases one person's trash as one person's treasure uh

15:28 it's just you know it's it's cool to see izzy geek out with someone or yeah kosher man of science yeah yeah who appreciates please don't say man of science i've been watching too much lost that's like a big motif in that show man of science first man of faith oh god i'm thinking too much about it so anyways koshiro a man of science he finds some little oil packets to defeat rare mon who has been uh bestowed upon by millennium on and has become rare rare mon it was just like a real creepy design which yeah in this batch of episodes they've had some great animation i would have loved some sludgy no face style animation for this yeah yeah like

16:15 you know like the one snowface is running around like dying at the end or like throwing up i i think they could have really made this thing look cool uh but ray rahman does look cool i guess you know it's very large i like the design you don't do anything interesting with it really disgusting yeah and they harden it with oil and they do a little educational moment yeah which i really like and they attach the bazooka their little dr stone moment yeah oh is that what dr stone is is it like aha yeah yeah so basically like the main character he's just so smart and then like he always explains like how how we're like going to this next leap in technology and he explains like the chemical breakdown and stuff of it it's like still being like a shonen

17:01 show yeah yeah just like my all right yeah cool anime mythbusters also i like so they defeat rare rare man and chuman evolves into searchman that i laughed out loud do you remember how i told you all about armor digimon i think so how like there's like a special little equip item they get and they can evolve into armored digimon and technically yeah and so searchman is an armored digimon and if you notice on its little plate is izzy's crest like i think they're trying to imply without telling you that izzy

17:47 helped him evolve into this oh dude yeah they do they didn't do yeah he's not like he was inspired by kosheros i don't know whatever yeah yeah and so they're called there's the equipments are called the uh i'm trying to think of the original names the english names are the digi eggs they're the digimentals are the japanese names so it's the digimental of knowledge is the equipment piece yeah and so that's why i think it's kind of nice that that's what happened yeah but yeah going from one to the nowhere yeah yeah you're right it's like a little tag thing at the end like for like the nerds yeah yeah yeah well never mind i don't want to spoil

18:33 anything i'm ahead on this here after they're all done and they're all talking about the fight or whatever um tentamont's like it got like really heated up in there and augments like sorry yeah no i meant the fighting and they all laugh i thought that was the cutest [ __ ] thing that made me so happy yeah i really like these episodes yeah i really think the part was in the beginning with the with the ramen because yeah yeah taiji was so excited and i would have been too like if i was in their situation and i saw like human food finally i'd be like oh my god somebody commented on the last video when we were talking about evolution pacing talk so the show had like a five week or i think it was longer than that it was like a two and a half month hiatus i

19:19 feel like uh where it went off the air and apparently because of a certain anime convention they wanted to have footage of war greymon's evolution ready to show at the convention to promote the show and so that nine-week hiatus they lost a bunch of weeks but they still had to get to wargreymon by that date and so they cut out a bunch of episodes and so it makes me wonder how many of these stories we're getting were supposed to happen before like before that yeah and this kind of feels like it's one that would have happened before then okay yeah

20:04 or that could have been fit in like and i i'm just trying to i don't know i don't know this is a endeavor to try to think out but like it makes me i wish we got these episodes earlier on yeah yeah yeah yeah i haven't i would have it would have just made like the whole first 30 episodes felt like a sprint to wargreymon yeah like it did like we have a four-episode arc just about getting to that and i really i just i just have really been enjoying a lot of these and speaking of enjoying a lot of these episode 43 clash the king of digimon the chosen ones come across an unfamiliar forest there they meet edmond

20:49 and volkemon who are battling over the title of the king of digimon tai chi and the others are dragged into their fight what a good episode yeah this episode is fantastic yeah this is a this is a fantastic episode like genuinely good edaman in the original show is the big villain that follows up devon no way yes and so like that's how they like they cut the uh they you know cut the drama of devi yeah oh my god yeah and so just i i feel like that's why they probably put so much into this episode because the animation quality was like oh it was good yes it was it was some good

21:36 stuff oh my god uh so the episode begins and they're traveling to the faga who uh you know is the place where millennium one's trying to wake up from his nap and gautaman doesn't recognize the landscape anymore it's changed and meanwhile izzy has that little computer chip and he's like i don't want to plug this in it might cause a virus and mimi says something about her grandpa and innovation and plugs it into his computer anyways and everyone starts going haywire [Laughter]

22:22 yeah it's cute uh and then here's these just disappears you just see his pelt on the floor dude that was the funny dude that was actually so funny to me just he's just gone and the entire yeah yeah yeah yeah it was like an episode of community to me like that kind of like kind of thing you know what i'm talking about yeah we're like in the background doing something it's the same thing and so all this music they're hearing from the forest like i wrote down everything that happens aguimon burns tai chi bioman just starts moving crazily palmon starts growing all of these vines tail mon is a cat yeah it's technical someone becomes tantamount becomes twice from my hero academia i i i i just said that he's a

23:08 chad he's a little chad yeah he's like a chad it's great so he gives me he gives me the vibe of the the way of the house husband yeah oh my god yeah but he's like arguing with himself yeah yeah he's just like trying to just be cool like it's just i love it oh my god and so they try to these two digimon are having this rap battle about what's cooler exercise or uh entertainment and they try to get in the middle of it and all these digimon are like you know cheering for one versus the other and they can't fight them because of the rhythm the rhythm's too intense and i feel that yeah it's so i i like how they're like okay we're gonna evolve

23:54 and then like that will solve the problem and then bergeron is just like sprinkling around yeah yeah i thought that looked pretty good too like animation i was like they finally did bergeron right but they're not flying it's just running around yeah like like making bergemon look silly they made that look really good yeah yeah oh and middle raymond's bomb blushing when the sound went oh my god yeah yeah yeah that's so funny and then just oh my god i feel like edaman and volkemon are just characters they're and they're like you know they're like that toxic masculinity guys and they have they live

24:41 in this world where they're forced to be tough and like this is the and like fighting it out and being the king of digimon something they have to do and it's like i feel like we've seen this story from the other side of like the weak digimon and i feel like seeing these two uh not evil guys but just like meat heads yeah good word good words yeah like god and then the pressure they feel me me go yeah they find the morocco's in the pile of trash from the episode before and of course the beautiful twist poncho mod all right so i love that one line though the it's not power its groove

26:14 of powemon's like little flower head oh yeah it was such a funny arm it was such a funny animation moment to when uh palmont goes to evolve because fatamon just like is there yeah yeah like you just was like wait what was that like you see it for a split second just like it's so funny yeah i i love that so much and then just the animation's so great in this episode it's like this is one of this is just one of my favorite episodes of the show no i did it yeah the shot the shot of metal greymon and then he's just like all right we're going to charge up again he just goes back to akuman immediately he goes huh yeah they do it twice for like the music like

27:48 why did that break you because that's what they've been doing yeah they've just been traveling through fields many fields after traveling for many it's true that's why it's funny after traveling through many fields the chosen ones finally come across a forest they find that the forest itself makes up a digimon's body hickory and the chosen children helped this digimon fight an old nemesis you know the forest is pedal dramon this giant uh you know bigger than even el dorado is it bigger for the sake of how i'm telling the story yes gotoman's

28:35 like petal dramans a legendary digimon like this is a big guy a big deal and i was like wow i'm meeting a legendary yeah pal palma was like it was like fan girl yeah yeah over like a legendary like also like i guess grass type um like digimon like just like an admirer of like of like petal draman's work pedal german feeds them gives them some food and so kind did you mind eating so sweet they find the penguin who's like we're under attack by these bugs we got a baby flame in the beginning of this episode we did get a good baby we got a baby flame we did it was good and so they fight against this black swarm of bugs they're just like a swarm of them and

29:21 then ant-man i almost said ant-man ant-man is behind them it's ant-man and petal german and ant-man they've been enemies for a long time and they fight and it's like a big kaiju battle i like his little i like his footsteps and how slow it is and like all of the environmental effects around it and they try to help out but guess what oh he kills them yeah he shows his weird yeah nail mouth through yeah i really like how this like fight ended up though i like that hiki helps but her way of helping is

30:07 her and angelmon like give petalmon the power to fight on their own like they've been weakened from like fighting ant-man so many times and andrew angelman's like i'm not gonna fight this for you i'm gonna give you the power because you've been fighting for so long and not stopping it's on you go do your thing and then take hikari to safety and let's lets them duke it out yeah i mean it's like a stat buff it's like the same as as angemon like like they can just stat buff people yeah they're support but also you know also very strong when they when they want to do the little guitar rift you know they do the guitar rift in this

30:54 you know i also would like to say beautiful like yeah poopiary and i love forest i love after ant-man stabs petal german i love hickory's hickory i want to pronounce this right icarey that's that's good yeah yeah you guys i i like i like everything from her perspective like when she yells yells for uh tailman like and then that shot of tailmon coming in and like turning into angelmon very very abruptly may i actually literally like boom i'm there it was like we didn't even get a sequence she just said boom it's me now yeah yeah she had to go see a child after after uh

31:41 angel woman does the you know the charms casting or whatever and picks up uh hickory and like her hands like reaching out for petals yeah the pov shot it's just so like tiny tiny child and like huge monsters and you know them turning into all of the uh um what is the word i'm looking for just turning into plants and all that dying yeah yeah their bodies it reminds me of uh in that earlier episode uh where koshiro takes down the satellite when they see the giant like the giant skulls of the ancient digimon yeah yeah yeah like i feel i feel like that this is like uh they're fulfilling the

32:26 promise of showing us a fight like that yeah like like too big to uh decompose yeah like they turn into they become part of the environment yeah yeah because they're like that didn't they even say that that energy like the light energy coming up was like created from their battle yeah yeah yeah so this is kind of in that same in that same vein this this uh this shows very good at i guess feel giving us lore yeah yeah i mean it's not even dead because petalmon made all those flowers bloom so like their energy's still around even if yeah like yeah like we get that little shot it's like literally you know yeah the hickory water yeah it all bloom the little flowers so

33:14 in in terms of the you know the princess mononoke the lorax cannon of environmental movies like where is this episode fall dude this episode does the same thing as all the other episodes like i said is that there's a there's digimon comes in saying hey there's a bad digimon we've been evicted from our homes yeah i mean like it's the exact same story again told a different way but they execute it well you know yeah yeah like you said like my favorite shot is probably the pov of hickory like like you know reaching out for pedal german like i think that's really really good and just like the look of it it's great it's just it's the same [ __ ] you're right you're right yeah i mean i really feel myself i'm sorry

34:01 no it's okay they weave in different parts of lore with each of these like the similar structure but it's a different like this person is related to this in this way and it's something yeah it's it's a lot of world building happening around the main action yeah uh i i feel myself less motivated to sit down and watch each episode week to week but like when i do i i i like it you know it's not like i feel like this this shows had a very weak overarching story but like this these ep single episodes i feel like the show could have just been called digimon adventures yes yes and like that would have that would have been an excellent title yeah

34:47 yeah um yeah i forget what the main overarching story is all the time you're going to fight a big digimon yeah i mean that's how it is with it it was like that with debbie mons like that with millennium on and then there's kind of like just doing [ __ ] like in between and it's like and if what you're saying is with the scheduling stuff which i'm going to assume is true like all that put together it's just gonna make it to where it's just so i feel like like i'm gonna do a video on this uh series so i'm gonna watch it again and i feel like as i rewatch it i might appreciate it more it might be better yeah um i mean i feel like it also get repetitive on a binge like that first 15 episodes i'm not looking forward to
