PENGUIN ACTUALLY HAD THEIR EYE ON THIS AS THE NEXT PROJECT NOT CHARLES #books #royal #princeharry

Brief Summary

The video discusses various topics surrounding Prince Harry, his tell-all book, and the potential for insight from Diana Spencer's sisters instead of Charles Spencer. Key points include the relationship dynamic between Harry and his family, the impact of celebrity tell-all books, and how the press has portrayed these narratives. It touches on the perceived lack of compassion in Harry's actions, the controversy around his literary relationships, and the missed storytelling opportunities regarding Princess Diana's legacy.

  • The release of Harry's tell-all book has sparked discussions about his lack of consideration for the Queen.
  • Penguin Random House's interest in other potential authors, specifically Diana's sisters, is highlighted.
  • The video critiques the content of Harry's book and compares it to other celebrity autobiographies.

Harry's Tell-All Book Reflection

Harry's release of his tell-all book raises questions about his empathy towards the Queen, who was alive during its launch. The discussion draws parallels with other celebrity tell-all books, noting that scandal sells, but Harry's approach appears to disregard the impact on family members. The video notes how the attention around Harry's book has focused on its commercial aspects rather than its emotional ramifications.

The Relationship with Penguin Random House

The relationship between Harry and Penguin Random House faces scrutiny, particularly regarding their handling of his book's promotion and the aftermath of its release. Harry reportedly had issues with the ghostwriter, JD Mullinger, which complicates the representation of his story. The video details the decision-making dynamics leading to promotional choices, including an unusual donation of the book to a charity auction.

Rumors of Moving and Current Living Situations

Rumors about removal vans spotted near the Sussexes are dismissed as unfounded. The video clarifies that the couple is temporarily renting without personal belongings, suggesting they do not intend to settle permanently. Insights into their current living situation indicate that claims regarding a long-term move are exaggerated, reflecting the media's tendency to amplify unverified stories.

Charles Spencer's Book and Backlash

The video discusses Charles Spencer's attempts to gain publicity for his book and the negative responses it has generated. Despite initial ambitions, the book faces backlash, particularly concerning comments about his sister, Diana, and contrasting feelings towards King Charles. The narrative points out that the initial preference of Penguin Random House would have been for a different, more respectful account of Diana from her sisters.

The Unexplored Perspective of Diana's Sisters

There is a strong emphasis on the untold stories of Diana's sisters, who maintain a respectful distance from the spotlight while supporting both Harry and William. The contrast between their quiet support and Charles Spencer's more sensational approach highlights missed opportunities for heartfelt narratives around Diana. The idea that they would provide a more nuanced view of her life is proposed as a more enriching story that remains untold.

0:00 Do you know a lot of people have missed this particular point and I'm sure you have not because we're all sharp on our channel right but the thing is do cast your mind back to when Harry released his tell all book and I'd forgotten this little element myself in fact because all I really remember was I felt really sorry for the queen you know because it's a bit like I know it sounds a bit crass maybe to say this but it's a little bit like I remember when I was you know teenager very young and hearing about those books uh that celebrities children's were writing you know uh detour by Lana Turner's daughter and I got them all I thought were terrific you know what I mean because you do we all like a good gossip you know do you remember Betty Davis's daughter who wrote a book uh all about how difficult

0:47 Betty was growing up and you know what a difficult thing and then of course the most famous book uh mommy dearest by Joan Crawford's daughter and what's interesting of course it all backlashed but it sold a lot of books because people, you know, that's it, isn't it? It's scandal and these people are not here. The queen was very much with us at that point. And yet, when you think about it, Harry truly had no thoughts for her. He carried on with the book like they did with the documentary and the tell all interview uh with Oprah Winfrey. And you kind of think, you talk about compassion and kindness and things. And we all know how Mark has just literally wiped away her own father. Goodness knows, you know, this is the thing that I'm interested in, if I'm honest, is that cannot just be about

1:35 that particular access to the media and him allowing or staging pictures. It's piffle. It's just rubbish, right? You know, the poor man, you know, got swept up in it, probably thought, well, why not? Who's going to know that sort of stuff? I'm not knocking him, but you know what I mean. I understand how the celebrity game works. That is not the true story. Excuse me. And ultimately I sort of think what will come out in the end a little bit like those tell all books. But if you remember what happened with Harry, it was very keen and he was very keen for this and so were Penguin Random House to put out the fact that just how much they were actually paying Harry, right? And this was the four book deal biggest advance in the world. And

2:20 then Harry very much lost in the sort of um I don't know what you call it, but you know the press bit at the bottom about how there was donations to all of Harry's favorite charities after profits. But as I said, Penguin Random House and Harry did not have the nicest of relationships. Harry fell out with the ghost writer JD Mullinger, uh, which is the same one on this book. So, you get the picture. It's all a bit messy to say the least. And ultimately, when you think about it, also Harry didn't want to promote the paperback edition. Likewise, he's just decided to donate a copy of the book to his Invictus charity. I mean, how crass does that look, right? You know, so the book that you've wanted to distance yourself from now, you're giving away at a charity

3:05 auction because that's the best you can offer, an old book. I mean, right? There's a lot of stories, though. As I say, I like to share these stories with you. There's a story going around the other day about how the removal vans have been seen in um in around the Cotswwells for the Marcals. Right. Let me tell you, that's Codswall. Because there's two reasons why that's not true. They did not arrive with stuff big enough for removals. They have none of their own furniture there. They're living rentree in another property, right? Very nice of this particular individual to give them that. So to say, all the removal vans, it's just rubbish, you know, and this is the thing. It's kind of like these stories start off. If there are removal vans and maybe they have been spotted, they're not to do

3:51 with the Marles. They turned up with a big batch of cases and stuff like that. They don't have any personal effects and that tells you everything you need to know about why this is not a long-term thing. 15-year stint uh you know stint for Harry. Ridiculous, right? However, behind the scenes, Penguin Random House actually didn't really want Charles Spencer originally. They were targeting this. Let me explain. Morning Chasers. Welcome back. Thank you so much for joining me today and welcome one and all brand new subscribers. Found some nice flags. Can you just move there? some That's a nice display, isn't it? Yeah. I always think people people should get praised for this stuff. They do make, you know, areas look nicer, particularly as we're going into the autumn and you think because this particular place here, this venue had some lovely flowers

4:38 over the summer, you know. I used to love what you know what I'm like used to walk past them and think, "Wow, you know, so whoever puts this stuff together, oh, sorry about my tie. Congratulations, you know, because they do do a wonderful job and make the place look great." talking about not making the place look great, of course, is Charles Spencer still bubbling on, still trying to get a lot of exposure for his book, which despite the headlines and the publicity, and this is the mainstream media sucking this up and saying, "Oh, you know, we've got this now or we've done this." Yeah, lovely. It's not going as well as people thought because now there's a huge backlash. It may do better in territories where they've decided to slim down the negative regarding his majesty the king and Charles Spencer's alleged comments about the demise of Diana. I think

5:25 that's what they're trying to do. However, Penguin actually didn't want Charles originally. They actually wanted these two ladies, Diana's sisters. Now, as I told you first on our show, what's really telling is that Diana's sisters, they live very quiet lives, very respectful of the memory of her sister, and they've been, I can tell you, very supportive behind the scenes of both William and Harry, and have developed a good relationship with Katherine, the Princess of Wales, which I think is really heartwarming actually, chums, you know what I mean? To me, that's what family is about. They're not looking for recognition. They're not flag waving. Yes, they had their moments with Diana as all sisters and brothers and sisters do, but predominantly they were there for her many times in her time of need.

6:12 It's very much detailed just how difficult Charles Spencer was to Diana, particularly when she wanted to live on the estate and we all know that story. However, Penguin felt that they had a better angle and I am inclined to agree with Penguin. I don't know what you think, Chums, but you know, it would be a wonderful perspective to have the sort of I don't mean this in a rude way, but the girly perspective of what went on with the two sisters and Diana and how they got through a lot of the tragedies and dramas that happened for, you know, Diana during that very difficult period of her life. What we've really got, and I'm sure this is what Penguin were okay about, but it's not exactly explosive, is he did not have that close a relationship with his sister and the

6:59 latter points. The two sisters did right until the very end. They were very close indeed. And as I said, they have without any fanfare, any flag waving, any dramas have been very supportive to William and Harry. Hence the reason for the statue unveiling were there. And I know they've had various meetings privately with William over the years. Interestingly, as I said on a previous video, Charles Spencer really cannot pin that down. So when you think about this big thing of oh, you know, he wanted to get it down for historical fact. Penguin Random House realized and this is the thing that happened really with Harry is unlike say historian writing it down. What they actually wanted was feelgood factor. you know, stories that might

7:46 really relate. What you got from Harry was the frozen stuff and, you know, all the other explicit stuff, but that is a sort of imbecile mind, isn't it? They don't know how to construct a story, so they think shock value. I do think it's a missed opportunity and I truly believe I don't think the sisters will ever come forward and do it. But that to me is a story really left untold. Anybody else agree? Neil Sha in the very heart of London.
