0:00 hello everyone and welcome to More of our Digimon content today we decided that there's a lot of us who got to see the Digimon movie that came out in English over here with those of us who speak English saw that generally but many of you may be aware of it at this point that it was actually came from a Japanese movie that was a standalone three standalones actually yes so we're here to talk about the very first one which all the more it may be difficult to find because it is literally titled Digimon Adventure exact same as the season that it was supposed to be the pilot episode of is what I believe is kind of what this was meant to be because it's only 20 minutes long it's not it's a short film a shorter film it's a short film it's barely the length

0:47 of an episode there's an episode and so we're here to talk about Digimon Adventure the movie short film or whatever the prequel whatever you want to call this thing yes yes the unaired pilot whatever which is not confusing at all let me hear an Aaron pilot movie yeah let's continue before we really hurt your head yeah before it hurt my brain so yes let us dive into this short film and for those of you who are unaware it is more or less the first third of the Digimon movie this is this is the same story but this was expanded a little bit that cut out a few things to make it shorter for so they could get three movies in and a standard length of the movie yeah there's one who was kind of whole Frankenstein mess yeah we'll really get into it when we get to the third movie yes yes that one was very different this one on the surface is not no and yes yes I hear you

1:40 screaming at me no no the dump ruined everything no no we'll get into it we'll get into the changes yes so from the very beginning starts with a great one charging a Paramount oh okay yeah running over tight running over a carrying party over actually literally stepping over there I'm not like you know stopping them yeah oh it should be a heck of a start yeah I get my attention but yeah then it goes to a yellowish field void thing where she's talking generating how he meets Digital Monsters later yeah I met things that shouldn't be in this world and yeah really doesn't land much no no because yeah that field is not in the beginning and the opening narration in English is curry she does almost all the narrations she's narrating for an entire movie because she's in all

2:29 three bits yeah but for all that part and here we get like a line or two from Thai and that's about it it's really unnecessary I don't know where he even is yeah yeah have you seen another series I don't know where this is yeah exactly I don't know what this is no it's narration space yeah but then how often good sir I even like this man mood or something yeah stupid ghost game be better let me have a good mood yes well they have to come out with more to put you in a different mood so we transitioned into night time this guy is all red with ones and zeros and he's getting up looks like he went to the bathroom you know kind of thing notices a light from his dad's computer room and as he glances in his little sister Hikari or Kari depending

3:20 on what you might know her as sitting in front of the computer and yeah it's doing weird things but at first it's yeah why is she up and staring at it why was she I mean she's always kind of been called to these kinds of things yeah so my guess is something it's never officially stated whether like she's up all right it was called doors just hasn't beat up and the lights caught her eyes don't know really not important no because she's really not doing anything here outside of staring out of a whistle and once again as pretty much in all of the differences between the sub and the dub there's a lot of just staring and saying nothing here where the dub fills a lot of the quiet time which goes through pretty much every scene in almost all of the seasons and the movies it's just

5:43 she rarely talks to him she whistles at him a lot more which is she does not that's just how she communicates many times even though we know she can't talk she does she talks funny as it goes on yeah yeah but as Taichi gives her her breakfast she goes to pick up one of her juice cups and the Egg slips around and while it's on the ground starts rolling around and Kari chases it depending on how long depending on the version you're watching yeah and in Japanese it's it's a high intensity chase scene under the table living room table with no talking and no talking very boring music yeah in fact music in the Japanese version is dull and boring and like the same song all the time it really makes it really kind of makes me feel like it drags the time it's like this was you know in an unproven uh IP and they were really just barely

6:35 scraping to get it together it seems sometimes possibly So eventually the egg rolls around with a mind of its own until it rolls into their bedroom again stands up on it and cracks open and gets a Botamon yeah it's a it's a little black fuzzball that immediately jumps out and attaches to Taichi's face yep and again there's not a lot of dialogue or anything going on here in bed and the original Japanese one I think this one at least like the Curry's laughing at it yeah yeah she's amused but eventually he gets off his face and hides under their bed and the Golden State credits after it then she throws his goggles near it I don't think he actually hits him I thought he did but I don't know the first time I didn't watch him again I think it's close to the maximum in the wall but regardless blow some Bubbles at him and knocks him back yeah

7:22 and gee it's a baby Digimon it's about all it does yeah it's a Mac it doesn't it's as tough as it's gonna give yeah and one and once again after that it's how long you on the next thing to go on for is back it seems happier with Hikari yeah seems like that then it makes lots and lots of Bubbles as whistles bubbles back and forth to the point where they're floating out the window and over the city and why do people also see bubbles yes I mean they're just bubbles so probably one strike is that straight yeah he's not a that big a deal but it is just all the more that people did definitely see some things happening from this the events of this movie it is not such a secret that nobody saw and are you gonna be your Mikko for today oh good we're about to talk about Nico really you're gonna call us yep

15:32 stop him or follow her yeah do anything so either she really really trusts Tai Chi or she's just a really bad mom in this one yeah I'm not sure which one yeah because because in English that he just kind of makes a joke and Mom's not really we gotta kind of make a joke and cut scenes fairly quick so you don't think about real hogging though why are you shutting the door from her how he gets faster how he's outside and yeah exactly that's an odd cut in the English stuff I'll give you the answer yep and they're just slowly walking around and we knew coramon Tom but now alchemond just doesn't doesn't make any sounds any entire time here yeah I mean you can Hikari at one point says don't you want to talk to me anymore coramon yeah so

16:18 at least they addressed that in that one I mean the dog he likes Corrals a few times yay Grunts and growls at least reacts yeah because I was attacked when he makes it but yeah that's about it and there's a lot of little things going on but we've got minutes of no talking or almost any sounds outside that generic stock music in the Japanese one which makes it sometimes seem like it drags on when getting in the dub because maybe he talks too much and sometimes unless everyone it seems to move a lot faster yeah yeah there's talking and things happening even if to some extent some of them are a little much yes yeah sometimes it's unnecessary narration I agree yeah it starts off you go season soda cans you smashes it because he has no idea Curry just goes with it yep picks up a few cans he starts leaving and drop someone chases after him yeah

17:09 playing around in traffic yeah can we almost get into my truck but apparently jumps over Justin and Nick are dying yeah and he apparently he's not appreciative of that as he launches an attack Yep this is a truck but pulls up the phone move so you know yeah underdogs don't have something to say to him that's his job like any of you know who Underdog is yupper flame because they call it in the English version even though it's usually pepper breath so I don't know well this isn't supposed to be the same Greymon according to initially until try and come on yeah I'll have to do that one solo I don't want to watch try again yeah and I don't remember in the uh English version that when he uses the pepper flame

19:29 then we get back to carrying agaman who shoots at it who thinks boy I need to fight this thing yeah and um go outside your wig class at the moment there uh I want to rethink this yeah yeah I mean they don't know at this point we don't know anything about stages and anything it's like well he's gotten bigger twice already he must must be good to fight right yeah no no no no no that's an ultimate or perfect I think she catches up tries to get her carry far away from these things and she will not leave she will not leave poor mom because that's what you know where I'm gonna ask at this point yeah and then never learn alone doesn't want him to fight and while the Paramount says enough of this and uses its Sonic Destroyer not that he not that Paramount ever says this or I don't think it ever makes a

20:18 noise in the original Japanese version I think it makes some small noise but yeah it doesn't say anything it doesn't in an area of collapses the bridges are underneath on top of them yeah and good thing uncle mom's that big in this one yes otherwise because Joe who's on his phone talking to someone indeed his phone stops working properly something strange happened got back to the rebel and gee another digivolous happen for evolution since we're talking about Japanese and coramon has got really big yes but it's big enough to protect them from the rubble yeah it kind of stands back up and some of the rubble falls off a little and he makes his little head nut which every person before I saw the Japanese are nice talking just bump into

21:52 is the same music you've heard all the time and doesn't fit at all and I don't really care yeah as opposed to the good one where you on Grandma now and the theme song so and it gets me off on top for it let's smash him the same animation did she not have this dip of effect on me but it doesn't even smashing through the cars I think just they added more to it yeah to just do more with it really increase the production value as a whole and Paramount makes more noises back to show that they're fighting and yeah yeah it comes in with Battle Cry and the theme song searching yeah we're talking again just to stop music that's interesting fight um there's a [ __ ] in this for sure he is at one point the Greymon

22:41 takes the horn on his nose and throws up the bottom of a pair of Minds that Peak there and this isn't like the other you know things like stabs and things we see in Digimon there's no blue digital code anything like that it goes right through and it comes back on he rips a chunk out of his basically his lower jaw almost completely off yeah I mean it's pretty awesome but yeah because you'll have to make the PG movie version no no no no well I see it it's interesting go back and look at the scenes yeah it is still there afterwards but usually I'm gonna close the shop it you notice yeah you'll notice yeah I'm happy with how many weeks like grabs them throws them down there and then hits them again it is Sonic Destroyer yep and he's out yeah which doesn't did evolve them which most times you know that's kind of what you would expect

25:06 him a hug and it's kind of cute yeah I like this little this little and then plays the Japanese themed butterfly yep and in the English that's where they try to connect it to the next story which it still doesn't connect to and the third story which it doesn't connect to at all because I don't think the third story is canonical yeah yeah exactly so yeah yeah kind of messy um this is a good story yeah it's really neat to see afterwards this is the mention this in this main series about how they repair how they chose the curry and 13 in particular because of this event right here and I never dream I'd actually see it so to get a movie short movie like this it actually shows this event yes and it's still consistent with everything like kakari being a sickly child point to the whistle she has with carrying around the entire series

25:56 yeah that's all it is always strange that she says that she's been to the digital world before which this is not going to the digital world but yeah but it explains like you know it's coramon specifically by the name Corey yeah she yeah that she knows that yeah so again it's just actually fits in very nicely there's not a lot of contradictory between these two things would you really get things like this there's so many it drives me nuts yeah but they actually like paid a lot of attention to it whoever wrote this so good job really no second well done yeah and again I know something else like it I like the dub version more just because of the music and the sound effects and that post-production being so much higher and this sounds so much better it gets you much more in the mood of the scene I mean yes maybe talks a little too much at times yeah but it always will that that that is part of
