Agent Venom: Flash Thompson

0:08 Welcome back everyone It's Charlie Sony recently announced it was doing more venom movies with other symbiotes and other versions of the venom character from the comics The venom symbiote, specifically Tom Hardy, has been saying he is done with the character after venom the last dance and one of the movie's post-credits scenes actually helps to set up that new version of venom from the comics. Along with the other person that's going to get that venom symbiote, a couple other symbiotes as well as Knull God of symbiotes. Basically, the future direction of all these Sony Venom verse movies that they're doing. because Sony has totally changed its entire strategy for how the Spider-Man spinoff movies in this universe works, in what the future is going to look like for them. So we'll break it all down. If you're brand new to the channel, be sure to subscribe to get all the videos.

0:54 Because one of the biggest things to remember is that they are not going to stop making movies. It's just the kind of movies that they're making. really big reminder to we've been doing the Game of Thrones giveaway since by then in the Last Dance Breakdown video. So we'll name a winner during this video. and careful for spoilers for the end of Venom The Last Dance in the post-credits scenes, just because they're very important to understanding what's happening in the next venom movie. but in that final post-credits scene, the bartender from the venom universe side of things, the same one from the MCU, same bar, but this one is from the venom universe, not from the MCU version. Got captured by Rex Strickland and his team or alternate universe Fair and Mordo, if you want to think about it. And taken to their base at area 55. He escapes in the carnage to make as many venom puns as possible after the final battle,

1:41 and stumbles off into the desert, just crying for help. When he does that, the camera focuses then on a broken vial from earlier in the movie in a venom ized cockroach crawls nearby in the credits slam to black, paying off an earlier comment in the movie where Juno Temple's character says cockroaches can survive anything like a reference to the venom symbiote, or a different version, a new version of the venom symbiote surviving. It's meant to be the spawn of the venom symbiote from the bar at the beginning of the movie. Sadie Christmas, who gets the Lasher symbiote later in the movie, held it up while it was still trapped in a vial, and puts it into storage with a couple other symbiotes. Really important for later in the movie, obviously for this broken vial here because it gets away and minimizes the cockroach.

2:26 but the purple one here is also agony. Whoo! Teddy pain winds up your king and using later in the movie to. And then keeping after the events of this movie. so the idea is that Sony's first big venom sequel in the future, like venom for basically whatever they decide to name it, you have a new venom symbiote that's meant to be totally independent of the venom symbiote that Eddie Brock has had these past three movies. That symbiote sacrificed itself to destroy the Codex, so its personality was also temporarily destroyed temporarily because it doesn't mean it's gone forever. He could still eventually be resurrected based on the way the Codex works in the comics, but for all intents and purposes, in the next venom movie, they said that they're working on right now, a totally new version of venom that was in the vial and on the cockroach now will have a totally new personality, a new mind, and a totally new host that is not Eddie Brock.

3:16 So they can continue the venom movies and all these symbiote based movies. If Tom Hardy does not want to come back. But the reason why the symbiote is black is so that they can use the venom name. It'll basically be the new version of venom, but a different version of venom two. so the second piece of this very important, but very easy to miss detail from earlier in the movie. one of the new team members on Strickland's squad was named Thompson, quote unquote. And during the battle, you hear someone shouting the Thompson's been injured. He lost his legs like somebody lost both of their legs. all the venom comic book readers out there probably instantly understood what Sony was doing with this franchise next. So in the comics, after Eddie Brock, the next major host of the venom symbiote is actually Mac Gargan the Scorpion in after him.

4:03 The third major host is Dot Dot Dot Flash Thompson former bully of Peter Parker. Spider-Man at Midtown High when they were still in high school. But the difference being from the MCU version of Flash Thompson is that this one in Venom The Last Dance and the venom universe is much, much older. love the MCU actor Tony Rivoli is a great actor, but he's just not ready to be a version of Agent Venom in the comics. the vibe of his character in the MCU is completely different. So obviously the one in the venom universe is going to be more like the comic book version of Flash Thompson. In the comics, he lost both of his legs during the Iraq War while saving one of his squad mates while he's recovering back in the United States. Going to rehab, he's selected for a special U.S. military program called Project Rebirth 2.0, where the military bonds him with the venom symbiote,

4:54 which they'd recently acquired from remember, Mac Gargan, the Scorpion. say no to. We're getting ready to see a version of Dark Avengers in the Thunderbolts movie. They're doing that in the MCU right now, but Mac Gargan Venom was the spider man on Norman Osborn's Dark Avengers team. I mean, it was venom, but he just called him spider man when he was on the Dark Avengers. Matt Gargan won't be on the MCU version of the team with a version of venom. Like, it's a funny coincidence that all these storylines are playing out at the same time, both in the MCU and over in the Sony Venom verse. so when Flash Thompson bonded with the venom symbiote, he goes by the name Agent Venom because he's an agent of the U.S. military. Like he's basically working for the military, going on missions with the venom symbiote, which they turned into a weapon. venom also replaces his missing legs, and he's primarily a good character,

5:43 but like I said, working for the military. So it'd be like Thunderbolt Ross doing more super soldier stuff, but using the venom symbiote to create another super soldier in flash Thompson. one of the other cool symbiotes that Sony is probably going to do in the future is the Anti-Venom symbiote. A lot of people were asked if it was going to show up during this movie, too, because there is a white symbiote, but this white one in the movie isn't meant to be Anti-Venom. It's just like another random one they created that was not from the comics. Anti-Venom is created in the comics during an encounter between Eddie Brock in Mac Gargan. When Mac Gargan has the venom symbiote, Eddie Brock became the first version of Anti-Venom, but then eventually Flash Thompson gets the Anti-Venom symbiote and he calls himself Agent Anti-Venom to. so it just sounds like Sony's plan for venom for whenever they going to release this will be an Agent Venom movie.

6:33 I think most people have been thinking about this, posting all kinds of memes too, just because Flash Thompson the MCU doesn't look anything like comic book Flash Thompson or anything. Like someone who would get a symbiote and become Agent Venom. in fact, it would totally make sense for them to just say that Flash Thompson in the venom universe looks just like Joe Manganiello, who played Flash Thompson in Tobey Maguire for Spider-Man movie. even though Toby's universe is meant to be a different universe from this phantom universe, you could just say that they're Flash Thompson's look the exact same in sign a contract with Joe Manganiello to be in the next big venom movie. he would be like the gigachad version of Flash Thompson. and assuming that she signed a multiple picture contract, which she probably did because it's a lot of money. Juno Temple's agony symbiote will return to with her mutant powers.

7:21 It's not clear how her electrical powers work. They didn't really get too far into that during the movie. Probably saving that for future movies to dig into. Like why are you asking questions about this electrical mutant based powers? Maybe we do have mutants in this universe. Sony hoping that Marvel's lawyers don't ask them too many questions about them using mutant characters. And because she's a scientist studying the symbiotes. And no god of symbiotes is easy to predict that the military would continue using her to research how to weaponize the symbiotes, like creating Project Rebirth in their universe so that they can give the new venom symbiote to this Flash Thompson character that just lost his legs. then they go on their own adventures and however many spinoff movies that Sony wants to do with them, it sounds like they want to do a billion spinoff movies if they could.

8:07 Like they want all the money from these Spider-Man characters that they can get. they use those to continue the main line venom movies or any other spinoffs they want to do with other symbiotes continue to tie back into and service the no storyline. This big overarching storyline because there are other post-credits scene sets up Knull is a bigger Thanos level multiverse villain. Sony also definitely hoping to get Tom Holland's Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire, Spider-Man, Andrew Garfield's Amazing Spider-Man in some of these spinoff movies in their big no crossover movie King in Black. Eventually. I'm basically calling all these Sony spinoff movies that they're doing now, like the new direction that they're headed, the King in Black saga, like you saw the Infinity Saga of Marvel movies during phase one, phase two, phase three. We're finishing the Multiverse Saga right now with Marvel Phase six in the MCU,

8:54 Sony now doing like pivoting into the King and Black saga on their side of things. so the other part of this too, they're probably not going to call the fourth venom movie venom four. They might just straight up call it Agent Venom, but if they don't do that they'll call it something like Venom Rebirth as a reference to Project Rebirth with this Flash Thompson character in their universe getting the symbiote instead of Eddie Brock and moving forward towards the no crossover with that version. and if it all goes to pot for Sony, they'll probably just reboot all their spin off movies. This whole venom universe, like everything they've been doing with brand new actors in a couple more years after that, too, because this will also time out alongside Marvel's Avengers six Secret Wars in a couple of years. In. That movie is also a big reboot point for Marvel, where they retuned the MCU.

9:40 all these weird problems that Marvel's been having the last couple years recasting that they want to pull off, just nipping, tucking, cleaning things up behind the scenes and moving forward. In the Marvel Phase seven with a version of the MCU that more closely resembles the Comic Book 616 universe, We're all the X-Men, the mutants, Fantastic Four characters, Avengers have always all existed together on the same Earth, and nobody thinks it's weird. Like, you don't have to come up with weird explainers for why people haven't been around for hundreds and hundreds of years. Like, oh, yeah, you've been here this whole time. We've known each other for a long time. With a whole lot less multiverse stuff. They start off their Marvel Phase seven with a brand new X-Men movie, new team of actors, and it's like Marvel's fresh start, like giving themselves a fresh start, which is a really easy jumping on point or a much easier jumping on point for brand new viewers.

10:30 so, if Sony's Venom, other spinoff movies, Spider-Man related movies flame out in the next couple of years beyond like the Spider-Verse movies, they'll probably do the same thing that Marvel is doing and make a huge reboot with everything they're doing. When the Secret Wars soft reboot happens so that everybody's on the same page, like, oh yeah, we're just kind of starting fresh. their other real big thing they're doing the next couple of years is introducing a live action Miles Morales on the Sony side of things, but they're also probably trying to figure out if they want to do that on the MCU, too. Like, where does Miles Morales show up in live action first? Because they already kind of introduced the concept of an MCU version of the character, but I think Sony really wants to have a version of Spider-Man in their movies going forward, and that could be live action Miles Morales. So the Tom Holland doesn't have to be in a billion different Sony movies to.

11:17 So everybody let me know in the comments. What do you want them to do with the future of the venom movies? If it's going to be Flash Thompson, Agent Venom, there's still anti-venom, there's still agony. And they can also say that the toxin symbiote survived and bring it back to. There's still a couple huge symbiotes from the comics running around on Venom Earth in a couple story based ways. They can explain the toxin survived. there are a lot of points during that. In the last dance that Sony gave them, where they can jump off with future spinoffs and future mainline venom movies. which is obviously their other big concern, like eventually paying off this Knull King and black storyline. punk rock 94.
