00 okay so welcome to a new video in today's video going to be talking all about how you can lower your advertising spend uh significantly whil continuing to make good sales on KDP okay so this is not Theory this is everything that I've practiced everything that I've been kind of working on for the past couple years when it comes to running ads and the reason that I wanted to make this video is because I think so many people are just blindly throwing at ads at to their books adds at their books with not actually having an understanding or a plan or a framework or a strategy or a budget or anything and just hoping for the best so this is going to be kind of a mega video here so I will preface the entire thing by showing the reality here
47 that you can spend small amounts on advertising campaigns whilst making a decent amount of royalties so the total goal which I I think a lot of people completely get lost with sometimes is that at the end of the day we have to be making profits from our book so everything in this video is going to be showing you how I managed to completely reduce my ad spend all the way down to sometimes as low as5 or $6 every single day so I'll go into my account and take a look at that in just a second but throughout the rest of the video we're going to be taking a look at your ads mentality so whilst this might sound like a section that is going to be slightly boring it's super important that you watch it and have an understanding so from there we take a look at Marketplace resistance for rankings I've just made this term up
34 completely but it's going to make sense and it's ultimately it's going to help you save a ton of money when it comes to running ads to your books from there we take a look at allocating budgets from there we take a look at micro adjustments um the reason these two sections are bold because they are super important and I hope that you will watch them from there we'll take a look at some campaign examples that I run and why it's really not that important which campaign that you're trying to run from the there we'll take a look at fast spend versus slow spend when it comes to advertising campaigns and then from there we'll take a look at how much I typically spend during a launch period versus how much I tend to spend over the course of a month for the same campaigns okay so everything inside this video when you pair everything together is going to help you to massively reduce
20 your advertising spend I can absolutely promise you that so I'm going to go into my account quickly as you can see I'm going to pick out one of the the better days just to to showcase um one of the days versus the ad spend so we're going to go for the 15th we're just going to update that we'll see that the roties for that day were 225 um I'll do another one just so people can see that this is legit on the 16th we'll do 15th to the 16th the royalties were 391 we'll go over to the advertising campaigns uh they spend for the 15th as well so the total so far this month is 131 but for the 15th for example the ad spend is $672 and we'll pick a couple more random
06 days here the 3rd of October um 553 we'll pick another one randomly the 8th maybe and we can see here that again the Y spend is going to be pretty low at $746 whilst we maintain a decent amount of sales okay so everything in this video is going to show you how I manag to do this okay so before we get into this video just want to make it evidently um completely clear here that this is how I operate okay so there are plenty of other ways that people like to to budget and do the advertising campaigns but I think I truly believe this is something that is a really fantastic way of approaching ads especially if you're new to KDP because the reason is that if you can keep your ad spin low is that you're going to have more money to invest into new projects
52 going forward and the more projects that you make going forward the better you're going to get with each book and the higher chances you're going to have of those books becoming better selling books okay so that's the reason why I want to do everything I can to keep my ad cost low okay so let's get into the first video here which is the mentality behind running ads and like I say all of this needs to be paired together which is eventually going to completely decrease the amount that you're spending on your ads okay so first off we need to understand the reason what ads are and why we utilizing ads for our publishing business and the reality is when you minus all the fancy campaigns and all the finer details that go into ads everything at the end of the day is that they just get you extra sales so if you're into the low content and the
39 medium content scene like most people watching this video are you're going to have a very hard time making a direct profit from uh from running ads to your account we promise you that so that leads us to the primary purpose of running ads which is what I've been doing for the last two years now is that it's just going to assist us with ranking our books so the reason that we want to to to use those extra sales to get our book ranked is because making a direct profit from your ads especially when you're doing low and medium content books is going to be incredibly hard because we want to have this low budget because there's going to be especially recently with more competition is that they're going to be increase in cost per click and you're pairing that with a low product cost so $6.99 $799 $8.99 for
25 your for your lower medium content books is going to be extremely hard to make a short-term direct profit from your advertising campaign so when people realize that they're not making money directly from the advertising campaigns what they do is they keep running these very expensive ads they never optimize them never think about why they're actually running them in the first place and they end up spending way too much money on their ads okay so we need to really set out a real purpose for running our advertising campaigns we've got to have this whole thing sort of pitched out in our minds before we actually Lish our books okay and I don't want this to be a case of this all seeming way too overwhelming for people that are just thinking about running ads this is something that I think you can kind of pick up over time learn over
11 time and Implement over time as well so it's not a case of if you don't do everything inside this video You're destined to fail and even then people have different approaches this is just what I think um is best for beginners and it's what I'm still doing myself because it makes me a lot more money basically so the goal like I say is to make an over profit from our books in general not just from the advertising campaigns so one big thing here that I want people to understand is for the most part is that we can't keep spending on ads forever if we're not going to be making a complete total profit okay because if you're spending on ads and that ad spend is more than likely going to be outweighing what the the total sales of your book is going to be there is no point but you know there's no
58 point whatsoever in just carrying on spending and spending and spending and spending so what we'll be doing throughout the course of this video is showing you way the way you can utilize your ad spend to its maximum potential and then start reducing that over time okay okay so I'm going to move on to another section now which I think is incredibly important and I don't know why I've called it Marketplace resistance but I mean here now after talking to a lot of people recently I'm really touching upon what people's pain points are when it comes to running ads especially I think this is something that is costing people a ton of money because the more people that I talk to the more I kind of realize what people are actually doing and I want to address that now and hopefully this is going to be something that's going to really be an eye opener for okay so
43 let's come over to Amazon now so what most people are doing now is and it makes sense is that we create a book and then we decide what keywords that we want to Target for that book and then we try and get ranked for them so to give an example here recently I think maybe a month ago I did a case study for a preschool workbook now the term that I wanted to get ranked for was preschool workbook which is very broad it's um it's super super competitive but that was the term that I set out for for my book to get that visibility on Amazon was preschool workbook okay so you could be in the situation where you're creating something like an activity book for kids or you're trying to get ranked for a word search for adults we trying
29 to get ranked for a coloring book 14 teens whatever the sege term is that you want to ultimately get ranked for this is what I think is costing people a ton of money so what happened when I released this workbook was that after four or five sales the book got ranked onto the first page for the term preschool workbook then after that we had a day where we didn't really have any sales to that book the book dropped off onto the second page so we had a sale maybe the day after a couple more sales pushed us back up on to the first page now what was happening here was that the book was fluctuating between the first page and the second page and I think maybe the third page sometimes I can't remember 100% but the book was kind of all over the place when it comes
16 to to ranking for this search term so when it comes to running your advertising campaigns now this is one of the the ways that I keep my my spend very low and not get go crazy with things here is that I take a look at how much money how much ad spend is going to cost me to actually get the book to stay ranked onto the first page okay so there's not just that what people are trying to do is they're trying to get their book from wherever it ends up ranking they're trying to get it to the very top of the the page for the search time that they want to get ranked for which is going to cost you a lot of money if you're in competitive niches so the thing that happens here is that when people do this they don't understand
02 that the quality of their book no matter what they think is not good enough to compete with the books that are at the top of the front page so what they want to do then is to stay at the top of the front page of this amazing search term that they're being ranked for is that they spend and spend and spend and spend and spend and then when they stop spending the book goes D and just dies off the front page and goes missing somewhere so this is costing people an incredible amount of money when it comes to ranking their books okay so in this case here what I could see in terms of the resistance here is that I looked at how many sales that I needed to uh to to acquire to get ranked not just on the top of the first page but to get ranked anywhere on the first page for this term
48 preschool workbook it was going to cost me a lot of money so I looked it at that point and I said to myself is my book good enough to compete with the books at the top here so we have books like um proper publishing companies at the top of the first page here we have books that have got insane amounts of reviews typically I don't worry about that but looking at it here you have to ask yourself like if you realistically is your book good enough to stay ranked on this page so the thing is what I did here as I looked at that and I said to myself I don't think my book to be completely honest I'm I was new to this Niche I didn't have the best book I'm not saying the book isn't worthy of five stars but it's just not it's not going to compete with the absolute best books in The Niche okay so if your book if you don't have
34 the understanding that your book can compete with the absolute best in the niche you're going to spend a ton of money and when you stop running Those ads you're going to die the front page so during the launch period of the book what I was doing was tracking every single type of search term that I was being ranked for so it turned out that preschool math workbook was another term that I was trying to get ranked for and I was staying on the on the first page without having to spend too much money without having to have like that crazy velocity of sales to stay ranked okay the book just stays ranked on this page without having to have too much um to to have too many sales sent to it okay so what's happening here to make this evidently completely clear is that whilst we might not be making getting
20 right to making sales for the term preschool workbook what is happening is that we are ranked for preschool math workbook and we're making sales from that and other keyword variations as well but the thing is with these Search terms we don't have to spend anywhere near as much money so that's why I really emphasize when people are launching their books is that you track where you're being ranked and then take a look at how much how how your book is being affected by the sales if if you think you need a ton of sales to stay ranked and you need a ton of AD spend to stay ranked you need to really weigh up if your book is actually truly good enough to stay ranked for that search time okay so here's the incredible thing when it comes to organic sales on Amazon so let's say for example that we weren't able to keep running these ads because
07 it was costing us so money so much money to get ranked for this broad search ter preschool workbook but what we did find like I say was that we were ranked for preschool math workbook as an example now the I'll go into my account and show you the ad campaigns in just a second but now what we're doing what we're looking at is spending hardly any money whatsoever on these campaigns but with still ranked for this search term so you can go through all the different Search terms that you're being ranked for and establish whether it's worth spending money to get ranked to get boosted for those Search terms okay so I looked at this and I said I'm going to really cut off these ad campaigns and not push for preschool workbook um that search term I'm not going to push for that anymore because I don't think I just can't spend that much money the book is not good
52 enough to to stay ranked for that and what I was saying to myself was that I'm really happy that I have a rankings for other search jams as well so hopefully this is starting to make sense now and really giving you a different perspective when it comes to actually making a long-term profit from your books because now what's happening let's take this scenario here where I wanted to get ranked for preschool workbook I wanted to be at the very top for preschool workbook you're looking at spending for you know for how hard that was you're looking at spending every single month maybe $3 to $400 on one book to maybe um be accepted into the marketplace to to maybe compete maybe compete with the bigger books in your Niche that you're probably not going to be as good as so you're spending all
38 this money you got to make it back somewhere and you're probably not going to if the book's not good enough right whereas when we come to preschool math workbook what we're spending at the moment is maybe $3 a day but we're still ranked and we're still making sales from this different from other Search terms which is going to make us that profit over time okay so we're pretty much definitely going to make our money money back on this book instead of just spending thousands and thousands of dollars uh desperately trying to get ranked for the most broad search term possible so this is the thing that I'm trying to communicate here is that you can get into incredibly competitive niches up against big big big companies and you can still make sales the thing is here that you might not get the ranking for the search term that you originally desired and that's why it's important you have an idea as to other
25 Search terms that you want to get ranked for as well and actually try where your book is being ranked and how many sales it takes to stay ranked for those books so I love tracking things super important it's going to save you a ton of money I promise you so the other great thing here and this is what has happened for some of my other books is that you can still end up being ranked for those broader search ter so what happens is let's say that we're we're ranked on this page for preschool math workbook and eventually we start getting sales and sales and sales and Sal sales and then maybe during um next year let's say for example when kids go back to school what might happen is that we start picking up more and more sales we start getting recommended on other people's books as well like a kind of Snowball Effect that you hear about
12 eventually if you keep on getting those sales that you might eventually end up getting ranked again for that initial search term for example preschool workbook we might just get so many sales over time that we'll end up getting ranked back for that initial search to and gather more to then gather more sales again without having to spend on ads so everything here organically Works incredibly well I promise you so for example I know I'm going on and on here but for example if my the preschool workbook if it gets 10 organic cells let's say next week which it probably won't if it gets like 10 to 15 organic cells next week without me spending any money because it still has that ranking for preschool math workbook what might happen is that that might be enough
58 sales to push us back onto the first page for preschool workbook okay so this is how things can work incredibly well organically I hope that made sense I know I rambled on but if you like that then you owe me a subscribe or something so that is an incredibly good way of keeping your your advertising spend really really low so you don't go crazy trying to hit the absolute broadest and most crazy search term possible just because that's where the more traffic is going to be it doesn't have to that way you can get ranked for loads of other Search terms and not push for that really broad term whilst remaining in a competitive Niche okay hopefully that makes sense I'm going to shut up now okay so hopefully that made sense I know that was I tried my absolute best to to
44 explain that so if that didn't quite make sense just leave a comment um and I can go over a different video or just reply to you explaining a bit more in a bit more detail um so next up the next way that we can cap the amount of money that we're spending on our advertising campaigns is by introducing budgets so this needs to work within your goal and your strategy okay so for me my goal and my strategy is to launch my books with advertising campaigns as soon as the book goes live I I spend advertising campaign money and then then I use that as you can see earlier to get the book ranked okay so what I like to do is to have and like what I'm saying here is that you can't just pick up up my strategy in the middle like 6 months
31 down the line of a book that you've already published and expect it to do the same thing for you it has to work within your own strategy so just to to outline here typically what I like to spend your budget might be completely different to mine but this is how I keep things pretty low when I'm launching a new book is that I look at having a two-e budget of around 00 okay so that's not in general that's just when I'm launching a new book the budget for that new book is $100 for the first two weeks and then for the remaining two weeks of the month look at spending a total of $150 so that's not $150 um extra that's the extra $50 because the majority of the spend is going to go into the first two weeks and then the next two weeks we're going to try and reduce the spend which I'll talk about um a little bit
17 later on okay so um long-term ad spend budget is something that I do take into consideration as well it's going to massively again hopefully the amount that you spend on your ads the the maximum that I tend to want to have going in the background long term is around $20 per month per book and as you can see from my account it's nowhere near that at the moment we're looking at maybe a couple dollarss on average per book okay so again I will go back into my campaigns and show you more of that uh but that's another way that as we reduce over time that we look at spending less money on ads so if this isn't making sense at the moment we're going to have a section coming up um which is going to show pretty much the the reduction of the ad spend over time okay so another way that we um another
03 way that I'm budgeting is to make sure that my cost per click budget for any campaign that I start is a maximum of 85 to 90 Cent during the launch period only okay so the other way is that we have a daily Max budget of around $5 sometimes hit that sometimes um for most of the time that we don't hit that and then we have up to around maximum of 20 campaigns per book which I know is probably around 19 campaigns more than most people have but we'll take a look at that in a minute as well so all these things adding up together now to the point where we can actually um you know launch our books we can have a budget and we can start reducing the advertising cost we're really thinking about where our books are being ranked uh and ultimately this is going to contribute to having a much much lower ad spend uh over time so the other thing
50 that I put in bold here is that when you budget this way like if you're so my strategy is that I spend most of my money when it comes to advertising is for launching the book okay the importance during the launch I put so much emphasis on it because Amazon gives you that boost during the launch period and that's why I spend most of that money and the reason that I reduce all of this and budget is because it's going to leave room for the next book that you launch okay so if your goal is to have one two three four books and you just spend tons of money because you think they're the hottest ever and then you you end up losing that money you don't make any organic sales you get really pissed off and then you pretty much quit Okay so if that's what your goal is I think your overall
37 approach to publishing is just wrong so I think for most of us we have to be publishing more than three or four books no matter how good you think the quality is you have to leave room in your budget to publish more books so that you can get better at publishing I don't care who you are you probably don't have good books your first three four five 6 seven eight nine books 10 books they're probably not that good so you need to leave that budget so that you can keep spending on creating new books and actually launching them on Amazon's Marketplace and on top of that even for for me I've been publishing for a while I would say at the moment I've had three books out of the last five that haven't performed particularly well so I need to make sure that I have enough budget to um Outsource the Interiors to to run the ads to do the book covers and that's why
23 I make sure that I keep this budget super super tight and super super low okay so in this section I want to talk about making micro adjustments and also to pair this with another section that I want to talk about which was short-term advertising spend versus long-term advertising SP advertising spend okay and how making these micro adjustments um from the shortterm spend uh transitions to long-term spend so what I'm going to be doing is doing live examples for books from my advertising account for new book and also taking a look at some older books so you can see how shortterm spend goes versus the the long-term spend as well okay so the first thing that I'm going to do here is take a look at the the most recent book that I've had published which is a new coloring book which has been live um only for a few days here so what I'm
09 going to do is go into as you can see I have 18 campaigns going for this for this um for this book but the one that's getting most of the clicks at the moment is a 90 Cent automatic campaign so we're going to go into that now and take a look at how this short-term spend uh what's going on with the short-term spend and how we are going to reduce this over time okay so bear in mind this all works with my my launch plan uh getting the book rank actually um we did a a launch formula course that I released to just a small group of people um and this was what we were sort of doing was making sure that we were implementing this into our launch strategy basically okay so super important that it pairs along with your strategy as well so uh if I go ahead and
56 just put up the last I think this will display the chart for us um if we put up the last 30 days what we can see here so it's going to take a few days for ad spend to really start kicking in and make consistent clicks okay so keep that in mind every time you launch a campaign that it's going to take a few days so we're going to ignore these kind of random clicks here and there until we actually start getting real clicks to our book which is around the 14th okay so it's taking a few days for things to already kick in and get going where we had eight sales uh sorry I wish uh eight clicks for 77 Cent okay so we have a 90 Cent campaign down only means that it will reduce the bid if it if it can so we're looking at 77 Cent for8 clicks now I'm going to introduce this concept of
41 micro adjustments to you here and this is what I do every single day as as soon as I start seeing the advertising campaigns are kicking in I'm doing these micro adjustments every single day so what I'm looking at is pairing the clicks versus the cost per click okay so so what we can see here in the short term is that yes we are spending um quite a lot of money per per click we can't do that forever we just can't it's going to be crazy for low and medium content books you won't make a profit okay so we have eight clicks and then what we're going to look at doing is to reduce this the the um the bid we're going to keep reducing it until eventually what we have is a much lower cost per click so we can pair up the the clicks that we're getting every single day so for example if I saw that I had
27 um four clicks today what I could do and what I've just done is to reduce this down to 80 cent it was at 85 Cent I'm happy with getting four or five clicks a day at the moment I reduce that down and then tomorrow I'm going to take a look at how many clicks I'm getting um if I'm not getting many clicks I'm going to give it another day to see how it performs if I get like another four or five clicks on that day then I'm going to reduce the bid as well by a few more scent down to maybe um 77 or 76 Cent okay so we're going to keep monitoring this during the launch period of a book every single day okay so we're pairing up the clicks versus the cost per click um because that's super important for reducing your your your ad spend quite quickly okay and it's one thing to note here is that from what I can find I
13 could be wrong here but we don't get a suggested bid until a fair few a fair few days after we actually launch our campaigns okay so if we're blowing through our budget for example every single day very quickly that's a another good sign that we can start reducing the cost per click okay but we're not blowing through the budget at the moment what we're doing is just looking at the the cost per click versus the clicks reducing that each day so what that's going to look like in the long term and I'll give you an example for a campaign over the course of the maybe a couple months I think it was so the preschool workbook we spent uh $240 which we kind of capped it at around that amount so what we could see is that we started here at 81 Cent now
00 again we we can't keep spending that much money per click we have to look at reducing it so using the technique of clicks versus cost per click every single day we were doing this reducing reducing reducing reducing of course it goes up and down a little bit but eventually um we want to get it all the way down to the point where the cost per click is going to be around hopefully um 20 cent or so okay so the reason that I like to do this and to to kind of keep campaigns going is because if you do tend if you do get any sales from these kind of ongoing campaigns any sale is going to be good provided that your organic sales are outweighing your advertising sales so what you can do is that if you have enough of this information you spent like $200 to $300
46 to get this information back you can start taking the converting keyword terms so we're talking about long-term adjustments here for your campaigns you can start taking terms from your automatic campaign CS that have converted um you can take whatever campaigns that are converting for you uh sorry whatever keywords or products are converting for you and start creating more campaigns out of them and then turn off the automatic campaigns okay so you PID for this data keep track of what's converting I'll give you a quick example so what we could do here for an example what I have done is that if we find that from one of our automatic campaigns that some of our keyword terms are converting quite nicely so for example 20 four clicks here to three orders what we can do it converted for the term preschool
33 learning activities what we can do from there is pretty much ultimately turn off this automatic campaign completely but extract from this the keyword terms that are performing well and then create more campaigns out of them okay so it's a super effective way of keeping um campaigns going or converting keywords going whilst turning off the rest of all these other terms that are just going to start chomping up your advertising spend okay so again one more example here of a book that was released at 50 c on an automatic campaign this is a much longer term maybe five or six months or seven months I think it is we're again making all those micro adjustments to the point where we're getting down to 15 um 15 cent cost per click but still getting clicks every single month okay so super
21 important look at reducing it over time um and you're going to again you're going to save a ton of money in your ads so one thing that you're probably going to notice here is that my acost for a lot of my books when I launch them is pretty terrible and that's because for the most part we're getting um clicks and sales from our automatic campaign so to get automatic campaigns to convert for all those different searchs thaton is going to throw at you um it's going to be incredibly hard okay so that's why we utilize the the ad spend during the launch period for our books and then look at reducing that over time okay So eventually when you repair everything all of this that you're doing here you're going to get to the point where you're going to be for example today we're getting toward the end of the day we've only spent $452 and we're in the middle of launching um another book as well so
08 this is an incredibly low amount of of AD spend but we're still going to get some clicks we're still going to get some orders but we're just going to be sticking within this budget okay so here's the thing we're doing things this way is that if you're not going to be spending lots on your advertising campaigns which I just don't recommend for beginners or really anyone unless they're producing unbelievably good quality books the thing is that if your books don't take off and make sales organically then in my opinion you have something fundamentally wrong to the point where your book just isn't sticking into the marketplace and that's this is one of the other reasons why I think anyone should budget like this especially if you're new is because if your book isn't good enough and you spent $2,000 a month to um to to make
54 nothing and nothing come from your book is that you would have been better off with a much lower budget and then working on your next book getting better on your next book investing that money into your next project and going from there instead of just spending and spending and spending and making the assumption that you have the best book on the planet when you don't okay so again super important that we always strive to make our books 5 to 10% better every single book that we produce okay and I promise you you keep doing that you keep budgeting you're going to start seeing much more success with your publishing Journey so just a quick section here that I want to talk about which is spending your money your advertising budget fast versus spending it slow so is there realistically going to be much different in terms of results
40 and the information that you get back from Amazon and the amount of sales that you get if you spend let's say $150 in three days versus $150 over four weeks okay so you probably established by now that I like to spend mine over the course of a month of a new book being launched and the reason that I like doing that is because that this works alongside my strategy excuse me so my my strategy is that I use the advertising spend to get my book launched and then go ahead and try and uh establish where my book is being ranked over the course of a month to see see how many organic cells that I'm getting see how I could adjust my campaign see which I can turn off which I can make micro adjustments for and I do that over the course um of a month so this is something that I
27 really put a lot of emphasis on in the launch form OFA course that I released to a small amount of people and we really looked at actually picking out keywords that we wanted to get ranked for spending money during this launch period and watching where we're being ranked for all these um profitable keywords and then making adjustments from there okay um I only released that course to the people in the last case study group if you're interested in having me flesh that out and releasing it as a separ product at some point um leave a message below it's got a ton of good feedback at the moment but I think it's something that I would want to um really perfect before releasing it so it basically goes it's the preschool workbook that I
12 released we did it as a kind of case study and we were literally watching where the book was being WR um for what keywords it was being WR how he selected those keywords and how we made adjustments from there etc etc and how we budgeted around all of that as well so if you're interested in that um drop a message and I'll look at maybe adding to that and releasing it at some point okay so in terms of that versus spending your advertising campaign faster now obviously I know that people do this and that's entirely down to whatever your strategy is if you want to do that for me it's something that like I say it doesn't lend the opportunity to make those adjustments I like doing that over time and if you're just um going through your budget if you even have a budget like if you set out just to get ranked for like the most crazy Search terms ever without having a strategy in
00 place then you're probably going to spend tons and tons of money um and end up losing that or going crazy amounts of money over the course of a month okay so that's the reason why I like to spend my budget quite slowly over the course of a month okay so what I'm going to do now is go into my excuse me I'm going to go into my um ad dashboard and take a look at some of the campaigns that I use um during the launching of my books so it's one thing to note here um um there one there one thing to note here is that there is not going to be I promise you there is not going to be a magic campaign that you're just randomly going to pick up somewhere on YouTube or anywhere else that after 6 months after launching a book that's it's failing you've not made any money you spent thousands of dollars on ads it's not
45 making you any money and you come across a wonderful campaign that someone on YouTube has been um saying is the best campaign ever I can promise you that if your book isn't good if it's not performing over already from the amount that you spent on ads if your book hasn't got any thought that's gone into it like there's not going to be a certain campaign that is just magically going to fix things and turn your luck around I wish there was like I've spent maybe 10 grand on ads in my lifetime which granted isn't that much um but there just isn't a campaign like there are going to be campaigns which will perform better yes but they're not going to ultimately change the outcome of the success of your book however with that in mind what I will do now is go ahead and take a look at some of the different campaigns because I know there are some people that just want to see um what
32 type of campaign someone like me is running to their books so we're going to go into my account now and take a look for the sorry for the the the new coloring book that I just released I couldn't work out what was happening here um but I'll take a look at some of the different campaigns that we we're running here so as you can see we have 18 different campaigns now for the the last cutting book that I released I had one campaign which was an automatic up and down 6 5 C or something campaign and it worked just fine I've been reducing that it helped get the book ranked um all was well so that was fine but with this one I've just gone ahead and created tons of them because at some point I believe that one of these campaigns is going to get me a lower cost per click that I can leave on um for for longer okay so just to go over some of the campaigns that I have
17 created here we have a category um advertising campaign here we have the 90 Cent Auto Campaign which is getting most of the the clicks and the orders um we have manual campaigns we have these acing I keep calling them spaghetti for some reason which is just different asens in a manual campaign keyword campaigns 45 Cent up and down as spaghetti like I don't mind making the same campaign again um 82 Cent Down only that we have a dinosaur specific cutting book targeting um we have a very ambitious 18 Cent campaign a 65 Cent downward Auto campaign product targeting campaigns 35 there's loads of different types of campaigns okay like there's um one from
05 was testing that Brian uh I can't remember his name he does he does some good ad stuff he's very well known but one of the campaigns that he runs um Brian Cohen is that the name whatever um but yeah these are the type of campaigns that I'm running to the latest book that I've just published okay but if you're going to do things this way again it's super important that you make sure that you budget because if one of these campaigns goes out of control and you don't have a daily budget for it um you're going to end up with a little bit of shock with the amount of money that you're spending okay so super important and you keep monitoring all your campaigns okay okay so that's pretty much it for this video I hope this has been very helpful um I can completely understand that this might seem Advanced it's not really it's just something that's quite hard to um to to to explain because I think in my
52 opinion there like I said there's not going to be one set way of doing things and things have to work into your own strategy and running ads and adjusting ads like it gets to a point where you can follow someone else's framework like you can follow what I'm doing here but ultimately this journey is going to be yours you're going to have to learn things that work for you during this journey and you're not going to ever be able to take someone's exact strategy and implement it into yours into your publishing business because there's so many variables that differ between me and you like there are just things that we are just going to be doing differently but I think like you know different niches or keywords that we're targeting keywords in our title and subtitle the quality of our books the niches that we're in all these
37 things there's not going to be a set way of doing it like you have to learn what is going to work for you but I think this framework where you are budgeting and implementing into your strategy is going to be super important for keeping the ad spend crazy low was continuing to get like maximum visibility and making sales on Amazon Okay so before I go here just to talk very briefly about um the six de launch formul that we released I think it was a month ago to just a small group of people if you're interested in seeing the the strategies in this video actually implemented into a book alongside uh the the launch formula as well and how they kind of work together in a step-by-step fashion if you're interested in having the six deep launch formula um released at some point just leave a comment saying that you are
24 interested in that and I'll look at adding more to it but what we were doing here we took a very specific we took a book produced a book which was a preschool math workbook that I was talking about earlier and then we do it step by step picking the optimal keywords for titles and subtitles um launching the book and all those things and monitoring whether the book is being ranked um and adjusting the the the um our our advertising campaigns over time so that eventually we have to book rank but we also end up spending not too much money over time as well so again if you're interested in seeing that seeing more of it leave a comment um and I'll look at doing something very special with this um in the short in not too long from now but anyway that's it for this video if you want to join the Facebook group or anything or if you
09 want to subscribe that'd be fantastic if not then you're missing out for sure you're missing out but um that's it for this video I'll see you soon
