00 Hey everyone, welcome back. I hope you're all doing well. So, recently there has been a trend going around on Tik Tok and Instagram of like preparing for my Netflix documentary. I am sure most of you know what I'm going on about because that trend is everywhere. I cannot get away from it. I have seen so many videos of preparing for my Netflix documentary. Basically, people are posting videos of themselves with text on the screen saying something like preparing for when Netflix drops a documentary about this blah blah blah. And it's supposed to be a little tongue and cheek, making light about things. Most of them are the most unserious things that you can think of. One example is me preparing for my Netflix documentary if the group chat ever gets leaked. Another one that went viral was me when Netflix makes a documentary
45 about the people whose parents didn't let them watch Spongebob as a kid. And most of them are just light-hearted, like making fun of something and they're the most unserious things, the topics. But then a woman named Sarah Gillson participated in this trend and this is when everything changes. And Sarah was a lifestyle creator with 30,000 followers on Tik Tok known for posting clothing hauls, beauty reviews, etc. But then one day on the 11th of July 2026, she posts a video where she walks into frame. She's not smiling. She looks very downbeat. And the text on the screen reads, "Preparing for when Netflix drops a documentary about my soon-to-be ex-husband, who I just found out is a pedophile." And underneath in the
31 caption, she wrote, "I wish I was joking." And of course, the first people that came across this video did think she was joking because most of the videos on this trend are pretty unserious. They're lightigh-hearted. So, people just thought, "Is this some sort of like dark humor?" But it doesn't take long for people to realize that it wasn't a joke. And Sarah's husband, who was a content creator himself, was now on the run for being caught red-handed for sexually abusing a child. And this video explodes online. It gets tens of millions of views almost instantly. The internet is in total shock by all of this. And the husband in question was a man named Sha Duffy, going by the name Duff Daddy on Tik Tok. He himself had
18 over 300,000 followers. And after Sarah posted this Netflix documentary video, something absolutely awful happened because just 12 days after posting that video, Sarah Gillson was found murdered in her own home. And this case is tragic beyond belief. It all happened so quickly. And it has also literally just happened. And basically the whole thing played out on Tik Tok and that is what we are going to be talking about today. So let's jump in. And I just want to give a huge thank you to today's sponsor and that is HelloFresh. So I don't know about any of you guys but when it's summer it just feels so busy. There is just so much stuff crammed into summer. I just feel like I can never catch my breath.
03 There's traveling, music concerts, sporting events, day trips out with family, schools being out. So everything's just so busy as well. And there's just always so much to do. Like the month of July was so crazy. Me and my husband Ashley went to Wimbledon. Ashley also went to watch System of a Down. We took our son to the zoo for the first time. And when there's just so much going on, your routine in life just gets completely thrown out of the window. Housework becomes impossible. You always feel tired. You always just feel like there's so much to do. And I don't know about any of you guys, but I cannot wait until autumn gets here. Like I'm over summer now. Like can can we just skip to autumn, please? And as well cooking in the summer, I don't like it. It's too hot. And there has been so many heat waves in the UK. Like what the hell
49 is going on? My kitchen, the position of it with the sun, it becomes like a sauna. So I want something quick, easy to cook that I don't have to think about that is also going to be nutritious and delicious. And this is where HelloFresh becomes incredibly useful because I have been using HelloFresh meals to get me through these summer months. It has made it so so easy to stick to a proper routine in the kitchen to keep having homecooked meals. They've also just launched a whole new quick and easy category which has made things even easier for me and I can cook up a proper home-cooked meal so quickly. Some of the recipes are only like 15 minutes and it's just crazy how quick some of the meals are with HelloFresh. And everything comes pre-portioned which also saves time. There's just no hassle
34 at all. I don't even have to think about it. It's also fully customizable. You can swap out protein, double up the protein if you need to. Build the meal around whatever you feel like eating. You can also skip a week if you need to because yeah, summer months are sometimes busy or you can order more meals for one week if you know you have a particularly busy schedule. There is just so much flexibility to HelloFresh and it's so easy to use. And recently I made the miso green chili and yellow corette rietoni and oh my god it was so delicious and so nutritious. I really hope that HelloFresh brings this meal back because I will 100% get it again because I had to blend kale and that's what kind of made the sauce like with creme fresh and obviously other ingredients in it but I would never have
19 thought to do that. So, I felt like I was like super healthy, like having a kale pasta sauce, but it tasted so good and it had a nice little kick to it as well because I love spicy food. And I honestly cannot recommend HelloFresh enough. And right now, HelloFresh also have a special offer for you because if you use my code Danielle Kirsty Carowaway at hellofresh.com, you'll get a completely free carowway food storage set with your third box for a limited time only with your third box of active subscription. And using my link and that code really does help out this channel because it lets HelloFresh know that you came from this video. So thank you again to HelloFresh for sponsoring today's video. But thank you to every single one of you watching
05 right now because truly without all of you guys I wouldn't get opportunities like this. And now let's jump into today's case. Quickly before we get on to today's video, apologies if I sound congested. I have literally just gotten over the flu, worst flu of my life, and it's gone now, but it's lingering, you know, when it just, oh, it lingers all here. So, I'm still a little bit congested. So, apologies if you can hear it in my voice. Sarah Gillson was born on the 3rd of November, 1982, and she grew up in San Diego, California, where she lived with her family. And growing up, Sarah has just been described as the most vibrant, joyful, and just the happiest person. She was the youngest of four siblings, and she just had an
50 amazing relationship with her family. They were so close. They all meant so much to each other. And friends and family have described Sarah as just the life of the party. Someone that was just always laughing. And she just had this way about her where she would make others feel so welcomed and just appreciated and loved. And she just had a love of life and a joy and she was just so positive. It is also said that she was an amazing listener, someone who always listened to whatever you had to say and never judged you no matter what. Then after high school, Sarah ended up moving to Colorado with her parents where she discovered she had a passion for cosmetology. And it was here that she also met her lifelong best friend Holly. Then following this, she then
36 moved to Oklahoma. She started working as a hair stylist at a place called Glaze Hair Salon. And Sarah had an amazing relationship with her clients. She just made them feel really valued. She listened to them. She was even friends with a lot of her clients. And she just showed genuine interest in people. She just loved talking to people and she genuinely listened to you. And then when Sarah was in her 20s, she met a man. They started dating. She fell deeply in love with this man. And in 2010, when Sarah was 27 years old, she went on to get married to this man. And this was a man named Lyall Landers, Sarah's first husband. So, not the man that we need to talk about in today's case. Lyall couldn't be further from the
23 man that we need to talk about today. Sarah and Lyall, they had an amazing marriage. They soon went on to welcome two children into the world, a son and a daughter. And according to Lyall, Sarah was actually incredibly worried about becoming a mom. She was always just so worried before they arrived that she wouldn't know what to do and she just didn't know whether she would be a good mom, like could she do this? However, it turns out that she was an absolute amazing mom. She absolutely adored her two children more than anything. They were her little bundles of joy, her absolute world, and they were her little best friends. Her husband, Lyall, said that she went over the top for the kids, would do absolutely anything and everything to protect them and always make sure that they knew that she loved them. It's also said that Sarah felt
09 complete when she became a mother. She was the fun mom, the one that always welcomed friends into our home, took the kids to a movie, or did whatever she could to put a smile on their faces. And Sarah and Lyall, they were happily married and raising the two children together. They were such a strong family unit. Lyall has later described Sarah as just a beautiful person inside and out. She loved people immensely without judgment. And he said that their greatest achievement together were their two children. However, the couple they did end up getting a divorce in 2019. However, it was a very amicable divorce and they both decided that it was the best decision for them to get divorced for their children and that was what was
55 most important to them, what was best for their two children. And going forward after the divorce, Lyall and Sarah, they kept a healthy relationship. They co-parented amazingly. The kids never suffered in any kind of way. They never went without. Lyall and Sarah, they remained close and they remained friends. So after the divorce, Sarah remained single for a while. She just wanted to focus on herself, on her children, on her career. She was continuing her work as a hair stylist. But then around a year after the divorce, I don't quite know exactly when, but it was sometime in 2020, possibly the very start of 2021. This is when Sarah met a man by the name of Sha Duffy, who is the perpetrator from
41 today's case that we need to talk about. And sadly, this would now change everything for Sarah. So, who was Sha? Well, he was born in 1978, making him around 5 years older than Sarah. He was in his 40s when they met, and Sarah was in her late 30s. And before Sha met Sarah, Sha had been in a previous marriage. He had been married to a woman named Stephanie. They actually went on to have five children together. However, since Stephanie has come out to say that her marriage to Sha was not a good one, which does not surprise me whatsoever. So retrospectively, the biggest red flag for Sha and his first wife Stephanie is that they started dating when Sha was 20
30 years old and Stephanie was only 15. So yeah, that should tell you everything right there. Sha has a thing for 15year-old girls. I will just say that right now. So yeah, that's a big red flag because he's 20 years old. She's 15. She's still a minor. However, no one at the time found it weird. Stephanie obviously knows now retrospectively that it was wrong and weird, but she was only 15 at the time, but she said that where she grew up, it was like a small town, and apparently that kind of thing was fairly common in the small town, so no one thought it was weird. So then, still talking about Sha's first marriage, 2 years after they met, they got married. So Sha was 22 years old and Stephanie was only 17 when she got married. And following this, they went on to have
16 five children together. And they would be married for approximately the next 20 years. But throughout that 20-year marriage, Sha was absolutely vile to Stephanie. He would apparently have violent tendencies. He was very manipulative, very controlling, very abusive. And Stephanie threatened to leave Sha on multiple occasions because she didn't want to put up with this. However, Sha always managed to manipulate her into staying and just keeping control over her. I don't know this for certain, but he probably love bombed her, probably reeled her back in, promised to change, but then never did. Just, you know, using every manipulative tactic in the book to get her to stay. But then one thing that he did do that we know he did this because Stephanie has said and this is very very
02 significant to today's case is that Sha would threaten to kill himself and also take Stephanie out with him. Yeah. So Sha is threatening a murder suicide. And he was constantly threatening Stephanie with this. Constantly threatening to take his own life but also to murder her before he did that. just to keep control over her, to manipulate her into staying or to do whatever he wanted. And this is very significant to today's case. Sadly, this behavior is a pattern for Sha because he doesn't only just do this with his first wife. So, just keep that in mind. There is a pattern of behavior here. And then in 2018, after approximately two decades of marriage, this is when Stephanie finally managed
48 to escape the abusive, manipulative Sha because the couple ended up getting a divorce, which I can't imagine was very easy for Stephanie. But I'm just so happy that she managed to get out of that marriage. So Sha is now single for a short period of time and this is around the same time that Sarah is getting her divorce from her first husband Lyel. And then like I said Sarah and Sha they met somewhere in 2020 or maybe the very start of 2021 and they start dating. And currently Sha is working as a basketball coach and his job is very significant. So yeah, keep that in mind as well. And when Sarah first met Sha, she thought that he was
34 so sweet. He was so charming because that's the thing about Sha. He managed to hide his darker side because Sarah didn't see it. He was really charismatic, reeling her in, charming her, sweeping her off her feet. She thought he was the perfect man. And it didn't take long for Sarah, at least to fall in love with Shawn. And the two of them quickly went on to get married. Sarah then started posting things about the two of them on social media. She shared photos and videos of them traveling around on date nights. She shared clips of her husband Sha dancing. She also talked about the fact that he was quote the love of her life. And I think that that just shows you how manipulative and charismatic Sha must have been in the beginning of their relationship to make Sarah think that.
22 To make Sarah think that he was the love of her life. And at this point, Sarah's two children had become a bit older. She was now living with Sha and her two children as part of a blended family. And they were living in Collinsville, Oklahoma. And to the outside world, they looked like any normal regular family. They seemed really happy. And from the outside looking in, you would not think that Sha Duffy was a manipulative, controlling, abusive pedophile because that's what he was. Mhm. However, before we get to that, things in the marriage were not looking good because this is when Sarah started to experience a lot of problems with Sha because the mask had finally slipped. Sha was now showing
08 his true colors. And this was in 2021, just a few months into their relationship. Sarah soon realized that Sha was a volatile person, that he was violent and he was very controlling and abusive. And this is when the pair would actually break up for the first time. And this would be the first breakup of many. They apparently had a very on andoff gang relationship. And the first time they broke up, Sha could just not let Sarah go. He was very controlling even with his exes. He didn't want to let them move on. He didn't want them to move on and he wouldn't let them move on. He would follow them around, harass them. He was basically stalking his exes. So, he was stalking Sarah. And not
55 long after they broke up, Sarah actually filed a restraining order against Sha, which again is a very drastic step. She wouldn't have filed a restraining order over nothing. He was harassing her. And at first, the restraining order was dismissed. So Sarah filed again. That's how serious it was. She did not give up. And the second time she filed for a restraining order, Sarah actually provided evidence that showed that Sha was sneaking onto her property at night and peering through her windows, which would have been terrifying because you've also got to remember that she's got her two children living with her. So, she's not just worried about herself. And the second restraining order with that evidence was granted straight away. However, just a few months after the restraining order,
40 Sarah filed to dismiss the restraining order. Clearly, she had made up with Sha and they got back together. And then after getting back together, the two of them started building their lives together again. And this is also when Sha and Sarah, so both of them started to build a presence online. Sarah started sharing all sorts of lifestyle content on Tik Tok. She would post about fashion, beauty, everyday life. She would also do product reviews such as skincare, clothing, makeup. She would then promote these products on Tik Tok shop. And over time, her following started to grow and she gained over 30,000 followers on Tik Tok. There are also videos that show glimpses into Sarah's personal life. You can see her taking beach trips, doing vlogs from her car.
27 Okay, if you're in your 20s or 30s and feel like you're in the trenches, take it from me, you are. I'm 43 years old and I can honestly say my 40s are my best years yet. >> Her husband Sha would also be involved in these videos. You can see clips of him trying on clothes for Sarah. She also tested out cosmetic products on him. Her children featured throughout her content as well. Sarah often spoke proudly about supporting them. It was obvious that being a mom was incredibly important to her. and then as well as Sarah Sha grew an even larger presence on social media and he went by the name Duff Daddy and his profile is now private so I couldn't actually take a deep dive into his content and actually look at it. However, from what I found through my research and what others have described of his content, people have described his content as very crude. He
14 would post a lot of memestyle content, most of which were sexualized jokes or jokes that made fun of women. He also posted a lot of relationship humor, which a lot of people have referred to as quote boomer wife humor. He would make fun of his marriage, mock his wife online. He would lean into a lot of husband versus wife stereotypes. His content was definitely very misogynistic from what I could find out. It made a lot of people uncomfortable. However, there was another thing that really grew Sha's presence on social media because he became quote a tick tock battler. Now, I've mentioned this a few times, but I am an old person inside, okay? I I'm not very good with technology and
00 what's trending and what's going on. So, I didn't know what a Tik Tok battler was. I'd never heard of it before. Okay. I had no clue that this was even a thing, but apparently it's quite big on the internet. Not that I would know, and I still don't really understand it myself, but from what I could find out, it's basically where two creators live stream together at the same time, and each one has to convince their audience to spend more money on them during the live stream, which, no offense if you take part in that, but that just doesn't make sense to me. Like, what the hell? But apparently the battlers have to encourage viewers to spend money on virtual gifts to send to the battlers. Almost as if it's some sort of competitive sport and then the
46 battler with the most gifts is the one that wins. And yeah, don't understand. It seems kind of exploitive. Mhm. Um which actually makes a lot of sense for the kind of content that Sha would have been a part of. But yeah, that's obviously just my brief, very little understanding of it, but have you guys heard of it? Like, I don't know. It just seems a bit weird. But apparently Shawn became quite good at this, which again doesn't surprise me because he's very manipulative. He would battle against other big Tik Tockers. And eventually Shawn went on to gain over 340,000 followers, which is huge. Like, what the hell? That's actually really concerning that that many people followed Sha considering his content was very
31 offensive and misogynistic. So Sarah and Sha together they have a pretty sizable presence online and also on social media it seems like they have the perfect relationship. Sha loved to portray that he was the most perfect husband and also an amazing father. But behind closed doors, obviously, we know that that's not the case at all because Sha, he was still being absolutely awful to Sarah. And by the time we get to November of 2024, which is 3 years into the relationship, the pair did go to marriage counseling. However, it didn't seem to help. And actually, things just got a lot worse. Sean's content on social media around this time as well got even more disturbing. He made a post
18 that said, "A man will lose himself trying to make an ungrateful woman happy." Before following this up and saying, "I knew I was a little toxic when she started yelling and I got horny." There were also other sexualized posts. He made a post that said, "When you're the guy that makes sure she finishes first, which side note, he doesn't actually strike me as that kind of guy, if you know what I mean." There was also another post of him saying when Bae asks me if I'm ready whilst he's pointing at his crotch. He also liked to talk about his vitamin D. He also made degrading comments about Sarah which were captured on video. >> Hey Fortun [music] baby, what's your >> a change of scenery will be good for you. [music]
05 >> Any single women out there? >> It doesn't mean single. It means location. >> [music] >> It's not and not a fortune cooking about relationships. >> It's about taking your wife to the beach, not finding a new girlfriend. >> He also made a Valentine's video where he repeatedly thanked his female followers. >> And I just wanted to take a moment out of my day to say happy Valentine's Day to all the Duff Dolls, all the ladies who have been supporting me for over a year now, all the ladies who have came into my lives and shown me love. and he was just being really disrespectful to Sarah. There were also videos of him talking bad about women in marriages. Some of his content even verged on being incel like and it's like if this is the kind of stuff that he's posting online
51 and he's willing the world to see and he's okay for the world to see all of that. What's he doing behind closed doors? How is he treating Sarah behind closed doors? If that is how he is treating her online, disrespecting her, and just being really degrading, it's like, yeah, it would be so much worse behind closed doors. And somebody else that was really concerned for Sarah around this time was Sarah's ex-husband and father of her two children, Lyall. He was worried that she was trapped in an abusive relationship, that she was trapped in a relationship where the abuse was just so constant and almost seen as normal and okay, which he's not far off. That is the relationship that Sarah was trapped in. Lyall also worried that Sha had control over Sarah and that
38 she couldn't escape and she couldn't get away. And Lyall offered to help Sarah escape. He offered to help her in whatever way she wanted to help her get out of this relationship, but Sarah, she just can't seem to get away. She is trapped in this relationship in the cycle of abuse. The same pattern just kept continuing. Shawn was able to continue to manipulate Sarah, lovebomb her, keep her under his control, and not allow her to leave. And then in June of 2026, so not that long ago, this is when everything changes. Well, remember when I told you that Sha was a basketball coach and that was very important and it would come back up? Well, this is where it comes back up because in June of 2026, Sha was a youth basketball coach.
26 And when I was doing my research, it said that he was a basketball coach for a traveling team. And I had never heard of that. I didn't know what that was. So this was just a basketball team that was not associated with any school. It was an independent team that players signed up to and then they would travel around the country and play matches. So that is very important because Sha is not a teacher. So he's not attached to a school. I don't know if that means that he doesn't go through the proper background checks. Like I don't know that situation but yeah he's not a teacher. He's not attached to any kind of school. And most notably in this case, Sha was the coach of a girls
12 basketball team. And this basketball team was full of teenage girls, mostly high school teenage girls. And horrifically, it would be one of these teenage girls that Sha was coaching that he would now form an incredibly inappropriate relationship with. and the girl that he formed an inappropriate relationship. We don't know her identity because it has been kept private. So, for the rest of today's case, we're going to call her girl A. And what did Sha do to girl A? Well, he essentially started to groom her. He started messaging her all of the time, and these messages became very inappropriate. He started getting closer to girl A as well, especially when they were traveling the country. He started
57 inviting girl A into his hotel room. He started spending more and more time with her, more one- on-one time with her. And this is actually something that he would do a lot. He would host a lot of one- on-one meetings with each of the individual teenage girls. And this was just a cover up. Apparently, in these meetings, he would just talk about basketball tactics. But that's not what he was doing. He was trying to cover his tracks, trying to come up with excuses as to why he was spending one-on-one time with each of the girls. And this is me just assuming. I don't know this, but he was probably scouting out which girls he could target. And he chose girl A. And it wasn't long before Sha started kissing girl A, which is just horrific to even think about. And then finally,
43 there was one time when Sha was traveling with the basketball team for a basketball tournament when Sha invited girl A into his hotel room and he touched her inappropriately, which is just so heartbreaking. I feel so sorry for that poor girl. And what makes this so sad as well is that girl A's mom was actually staying in a nearby hotel. So girl A had one of her parents at least there. But that is how bold Sha was. He didn't care that girl A's mom was literally around the corner. That's how confident about how much control he had over girl A. And this inappropriate relationship continued. Sha even started offering girl A money to keep quiet
29 about all of this. However, would it stay quiet? No, not for long. Because on the 9th of June 2026, there was a basketball event in the area at a nearby school and Sha's team were playing there. And at this event, Sha decided that he was going to have some of these private one- on-one meetings with some of his players. And one of the players was girl A. And in this private one-on-one session, Sha forced himself onto girl A once again. He started kissing her, fondling her inappropriately. However, at the exact same time, another coach was actually trying to find Sha and he approached the private room that Sha was in. This other
16 coach looked through the window and he saw Sha kissing this 15year-old girl. Sha had been caught red-handed. And again, that just shows you how confident he is that he will get away with it and just how bold he is being. That he is kissing a child in a room at a basketball event. So, there's lots of people around. And this room has a window that anyone can just walk past and look in. And that's exactly what happened. And the other coach that saw, as you can imagine, was horrified. And thankfully, the coach intervened straight away. They reported what they saw to girl A's parents, which can you imagine hearing that news that your child has been assaulted by their basketball coach. Girl A's mom was understandably horrified. She sat her
03 daughter down to ask her daughter like what was going on. And this is when girl A revealed that this was not a one-time incident, that this had been going on for an extended period of time. That Sha was very inappropriate with her. he was sending inappropriate text messages, inviting her to his hotel room during tournaments, touching her, abusing her, and that he had been giving her money to keep quiet. And the girl's mom thankfully immediately goes to the police. She files a report and an investigation is immediately opened and the police try and get in touch with Sha. However, Sha now he knows that the police are on to him because he's literally being caught red-handed. Shawn goes on the run. Yeah, he goes on the
48 run and the police have no idea where he is, so they cannot arrest him. They also start running into various different jurisdiction issues as well because apparently Sha was a member of the Oage Indian tribe of Oklahoma. And because of the way the law was set up, this meant that it now had to be investigated at a federal level, not just a state level. And so the local police department started running into a load of red tape. They had to refer things higher up. They had to submit the case to the US attorney's office and wait for a review, wait to see if federal charges would be brought against him. And because of all of this, Shawn was just on the run, not in jail where he should have been. And this is very significant because if he was arrested right there and then like he should have been, the rest of today's
33 case would not have taken place. And in the meantime, when Sha is on the run, this is when his wife Sarah finds out about everything. The authorities contacted her as part of their investigation and they told Sarah all of the horrifying details about the investigation that her husband had been inappropriate with a 15-year-old child and was abusing them. And that must have been incredibly hard for Sarah to hear to get a phone call from the police to inform her that her husband was molesting a child. on top of the fact that Sarah has two children herself of very similar ages and one of her children is a daughter. So Sarah must have been absolutely terrified for her own children, especially her daughter.
19 So what does Sarah do next? Well, the very next day, so the 10th of June 2026, after finding out all of these horrific allegations against her husband, Sarah files for an emergency protective order against her husband. And this is clearly to protect herself because she knows what Sha is capable of and how he has treated her over their relationship. But this is also to protect her children. This man is a danger to children. And thankfully the protective order is immediately granted. The protective order states that Sha has to stay away from the family home that he must stay 100 yards away from Sarah. He cannot contact her and he cannot come near her. And in the protective order, Sarah says some very disturbing things. She says
06 that her husband has a firearm. And she also says that he has threatened suicide because of all of this. And she has no idea where he is. And remember, Sha's first wife, Stephanie, said that he repeatedly threatened a murder suicide. Well, it's highly likely that Sha was also threatening Sarah with this as well. And Sarah has every reason to be terrified of Shawn because she knows exactly what he is capable of, especially now after these allegations have come out. And also on the same day, so the 10th of June, the mother of 15year-old girl A also files for a separate protective order against Sha. So now there are two separate protective orders against this man. However, as we
52 will go on to see, tragically, this was not enough because about a month passes now and I'm like, a month passes and he's still not arrested. Yeah, Sha is still not arrested. So, after a month has passed, Sarah is still trying to process all of this. Sarah still has no idea where Shawn is. He's still out there. One time when they previously broke up, Shawn was stalking Sarah, harassing her. Sarah must be living in constant fear for herself, for her children, because he's out there somewhere and no one knows where he is. And also, girl eye, she's still having to process all of this as well, knowing that Sha is still out there. And Sarah has been sitting on this information about who her husband truly is for about
37 a month now, not knowing what to do, not knowing how to process this, probably feeling incredibly lonely in all of this as well. And this is when Sarah makes a decision that she wants to go public with her story. Because at this point in time, and still right now, like I said earlier on in the video, a Netflix documentary trend is going around on Tik Tok and Instagram. And Sarah decides to participate in this trend. And she posts a video on her Tik Tok account where she has over 30,000 followers. And the video shows her looking nervous, looking scared, but also determined. And the text overlay reads, "Preparing for when Netflix drops a documentary about my soon-to-be ex-husband, who I just found out is a pedophile." The caption says,
23 quote, "I wish I was joking. #plot twist # Netflix # documentary." And Sarah had no idea what the reaction would be to this video. Would anyone even care? But the video goes absolutely viral. It gets over 15 million views. Some sources say that it got up to 6 million views in just the first few days. To this day, it now has over 30 million views. Initially, people thought that it was a joke. How could this be real? Because most of the videos that are a part of this Netflix documentary trend, they are light-hearted. They are very unserious. But it soon became clear that this was not a joke. And people were shocked. People were very supportive, telling Sarah how brave she is. Sha's ex-wife,
10 his first wife, Stephanie, also reached out to Sarah because Sarah and Stephanie had actually stayed in contact over the years, particularly during the times that Sarah and Sha were separated. And the two women, they had formed this connection because they were the two women that Sha had been married to. They knew what he was really like. And after this viral video, Stephanie tells Sarah that she's worried for her, that she knows how Sha is, how volatile he can be. And she's scared about how Sha might react to this video. But meanwhile, the video is just blowing up. And Sha is seeing all of it. He's seeing the reaction online, and he is absolutely seething. He then starts posting stuff
55 on his own TikTok trying to defend himself. He is also running Sarah's name down. He posted an image with the caption, "Stop spreading lies on my name. I haven't had sex with anyone but my wife. She's labeled me as something I am not, nor never will be. Fame and fortune is what she desires." So Sha is accusing Sarah of lying in her viral video, which we obviously know is not true. There is an official police investigation into Sha over these allegations that he was abusing, sexually abusing a 15-year-old child. There was a witness to this. Literally, another coach saw him. At the same time, Sarah also makes a couple more posts of her own. She posts a video of herself with a friend talking about the importance of friendship in moments like
41 these. This video gets 9 million views. And then on the 21st of July 2026, 11 days after the viral video, Sarah makes one more final post. It's an image of herself on a boat. She looks peaceful. She looks like she's reflecting on everything that she has been through. The caption reads, "May whatever the f that was, never find me again." She uses the hashtag trauma talk. And this post just breaks my heart because Sarah, she's just looking to the future. She's trying to be happy. She's trying to move on, trying to pick up the pieces of everything that Sha has left behind, build a new life with her children. No one has any idea that at that very moment, her husband Sha had something much more horrific and tragic planned.
27 Because we now get to the 23rd of July, 2026, and on this day, according to Sarah's best friend, Sarah was happy. She was cracking jokes, being her usual warm, joyful self. Despite everything that she had been through, despite the viral video, despite the protective order, despite knowing that her husband was a pedophile, Sarah was finding moments of happiness. And as we know, Sha was not supposed to go anywhere near Sarah. He's supposed to stay 100 yards away from her. He was supposed to leave her alone. But Sha didn't care about any of this. All he cared about was regaining control over Sarah. And according to the police, there were no reports that the protective order had been violated prior to that night, meaning that Sha had been staying away.
13 But on this night, that's when everything would change because at around 11 p.m. on that evening, Sha made his way to Sarah's home, the home where she lived with her two children, and he was armed with a gun. And we don't exactly know what went on next. All we know is that at 11:15 p.m. a 911 call comes from Sarah's address and a woman can be heard screaming down the phone before tragically a gunshot is heard. And we now know tragically that that gunshot that was heard was Sha shooting Sarah. And even more horrifically, one of Sarah's children was in the home at the time of the shooting, her teenage son. And then moments later, another 911 call comes in and it's from Sarah's teenage son who's only 13 or 14 years
00 old. And he reports, quote, "His stepfather has shot his mother before turning the gun around and shooting himself." And my heart breaks for that teenage boy. No child should ever have to make a 911 call like that to say that their mom has been shot by their stepdad. I just truly hope that he didn't witness it. The police immediately rushed to Sarah's home. But there was nothing that anyone could do. It was too late because when the police arrived, they find both Sarah and Sha with gunshot wounds to the head. And this is the moment when 43-year-old Sarah Gillson was pronounced dead, which is just so heartbreaking. This poor, poor woman. She got wrapped up in this mess that her husband had created. She was a mom of two children and all she
47 wanted to do was protect those children. She just wanted to move on with her life with her children and try and put everything behind her. It was just so senseless and so needless what Sha did. Sha was also pronounced dead at the scene. Sarah's teenage son that was obviously at the home was immediately placed in protective custody. Both of Sarah's children were then placed in the custody of their father, Lyall. He was also grieving this tragic incident and he later came out and paid tribute to his ex-wife saying how much of an amazing person she was, how much of an amazing mom she was. This is also when he spoke out about how he begged her for years to leave Sha. And then the news of Sarah's murder broke on the internet. And as you can imagine, the reaction was
32 absolutely huge because literally only 12 days previously, Sarah had posted that viral video where Sarah sat down and said she was preparing for her Netflix documentary that was going to be about her soontobe ex-husband, who she's just found out is a pedophile. And then 12 days after that viral video, Sarah is then murdered by the husband that she was talking about, the man, the pedophile that she was outing to the world. And people were so heartbroken because Sarah, all she had done was put her voice out there. She wanted to speak out about what she was going through. She didn't want to sit in the shadows. She wanted people to know that her husband and soon to be ex-husband was a pedophile. She wasn't all secretive
19 about it. She wasn't trying to hide it. And she was so brave to speak out, to outsh the public. In the aftermath, a GoFundMe was also created to support Sarah's two children, which I will leave a link for down below. The description reads, "Sarah was an incredible mom. Her children were the center of her world, and everything she did was for them. She loved them fiercely, worked hard to provide for them, and she dreamed of giving them the best life possible." And it's not just Sarah's children that were absolutely devastated by all of this and have been affected by all of this because Sha's five children that he had with his first wife Stephanie, they were so heartbroken and devastated about what their father had done and who he was. They're really struggling to process all of this as well. And his five children, who are between the ages of 15 and 25,
07 have since come forward to say that they will not be giving their father a funeral because he does not deserve one. And this case is so heartbreaking and infuriating because the murder of Sarah didn't need to happen. If Sha was just arrested at the time these allegations were made, then Sarah would still be alive. However, everything just got caught up in red tape and Sha was just allowed to be on the run and avoid jail. He then also violated the protective order which said that he was not allowed to go near Sarah's home which he did and he also was not allowed within 100 yards of her which he obviously did and there is still an ongoing police investigation into today's case so more information may come out however because Sha took his life that obviously means there's no
54 trial no one to bring to justice for what he did to girl A and what he did to Sarah Sha ruined so many lives. He has been a monster for a very long time. And I think it's just really scary that you never know what is going on behind closed doors. And it's terrifying to think that Sarah just made a post on Tik Tok and it resulted in her being needlessly murdered. And we are going to end this video focusing on the victims from today's case. Sarah Gillson was described as a warm, joyful, and an amazing person. She loved her job as a hair stylist, was adored by her clients. She was compassionate, an amazing listener, would do anything for anyone,
40 but most of all, she was a mom to two kids who she adored more than anything. She would have done absolutely anything for them, had so many happy memories with them. She should have had so many more happy memories to come. She was taken far, far too soon. She was only 43 years old. Because Sarah is not the only victim of today's case. Sarah's two children are also victims because they now have to go the rest of their lives living without their mom. And my heart goes out to Sarah's loved ones, especially her children. And my heart also goes out to girl A because what happened to her should never have happened either. And I just hope that girl A is also doing okay. And that brings us to the end of today's absolutely heartbreaking case. As always, let me know your thoughts,
25 theories, and opinions. And don't forget to leave me your case suggestions in the comments down below because I always want to know what you want to hear next. Thank you again to HelloFresh for sponsoring today's video and I'll see you all in my next one. Bye.
