0:00 We are going back to a time long past from today. At a time when the pages of history had not yet begun to be written. With animals, plants, and insects, the world exists in all its glory. Every living being is in perfect harmony with each other. But the world is very silent. Where are the people? Yes! That's what's missing. That's what I'm saying, now is the time. Now our eyes fall on the creation of the first human being. The first prophet, who experienced life in both heaven and earth, is the ancestor of all mankind; Prophet Adam (PBUH)... Because this story is important for understanding the purpose of our lives, because it determines our perspective, and thinking. But the story is told differently in Islam and Christianity. Today we will look at this from the perspective of the Quran and the Bible and compare the commonalities and differences between them.

0:46 What did he experience in heaven? How did Satan deceive him? How did you come to this world? And much more. Let's start the journey back to the time when it all began! Remember, when your Lord said to the angels, ‘I am going to place a representative on earth.’ They asked Allah, ‘Will you send someone like that there? Who will spread chaos and shed blood, while we praise You and proclaim Your holiness?’ Allah replied, ‘You do not know what I know.’” In the Quran, Allah tells the angels that He is going to create mankind ‘and send them as vicegerents on earth,’ meaning that they will be responsible for all the authority on this earth. They will be intelligent and they will be able to make their own decisions. According to the Quran, Allah decided to create this vicegerent from the dust of the ground.

1:34 Similarly, the Bible says that Adam was made from the ground. “The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground…” While the Quran says that he was created in Paradise, the Bible says that he never lived in Paradise. According to the second chapter of Genesis in the Bible, he was placed on earth in a garden called Eden, which he was told to care for and cultivate. The angels were waiting with wonder and curiosity at the completion of this creation. What kind of being was this going to be? How was it going to be different from them? What was going to happen? But so much Among the curious, there was one who did not like the new creation at all. He wondered, would he be better than him? He wondered, what was the need for this being? In the meantime, he was feeling uneasy, tormenting him from within. It was a jinn named Iblis. He was of a different species, but because of his status at that time,

2:19 he lived among the angels. Later, because of his arrogance, he was called Satan. The jealousy of the one called Satan in the Quran is found in Islamic sources. But in the Bible, instead of Satan, we see a different character in the later part of the story. While Satan was in the midst of feelings of anxiety and jealousy, the long- awaited moment was approaching! The work of creating the first human being was now completed. He had been given his final form. He was now going to open his eyes to life. Almighty Allah breathed his soul into Adam, and he came to life. Now, the time had come to introduce him and test him before the angels. But, what kind of test would it be? “He (Allah) taught Adam the names of everything. Adam (peace be upon him) was naming everything he was asked, and the angels were amazed at each of his answers. The knowledge that was not given to angels has been

3:05 given to mankind, and thus, its superiority has been proven. Those who really wanted to understand, that is, the angels, received answers to their questions, but there was still one who was hiding something inside him. By saying, “I know what you hide,” our Lord was indicating to him that he still wanted to keep it a secret. Adam's naming test is over but now it's time to test the others. "And when We said to the angels, 'Prostrate to Adam,' they prostrated except Iblis ; he disobeyed." So how will he explain this to God? According to the Islamic perspective, the "original sin"... “Allah asked, ‘What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?’ He replied, “You created me from fire and created him from clay.”” “Allah said, ‘Then get down from this place! You will be arrogant from here, this cannot be.

3:51 So get out, you are indeed among the wicked.” “Satan said, ‘O my Lord! Then give Me respite until the Day of their Resurrection.' (Surah Al-Hijr 36-38) Allah said: You are given respite. Until the appointed time arrives. (Al-Hijr, 36-38) He said, "I swear by You, the One who led me astray - I will surely wait for You on Your straight path." Then We will come to them from before them, from behind them, from their right and from their left, and you will find most of them ungrateful. God said, "Get out of here, you disgraced and rejected! I will surely fill Hell with all of you who obey you." Another difference between these two stories is the answer to the question, what is the original sin? Both the Bible and the Quran have their answers. In the later part of the story, Adam will violate a prohibition. "Christianity says that, for this, every newborn in his lineage should be considered a sinner. That is their definition of "original sin." So what is the answer to this in Islam?

4:37 First of all, Islam does not accept that children are born sinners. In Surah Az-Zumar verse 7, Allah says: " And no bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another." So according to Islam, every child is born sinless and regardless of their religion, they are not responsible for the trials of this life until adolescence. On the other hand, the definition of the original sin in Islam is actually the sin of Satan, which is based on the pride of racism. He considered himself superior because he was created from fire and looked down on Adam because he was made of clay. This was the sin that led to Satan's downfall. When Adam was being created, Iblis saw a different kind of being, he considered him a stranger and became disgusted with him. Then he began to think that he was superior to him. This was actually the process by which racism originates in someone's mind and heart. So the Quran is actually describing the psychology of a crime

5:22 that will be a shame and disgrace for humanity for centuries. And it is shown as a quality of Satan that he is the enemy of Allah, so that believers can see the ugliness of this sin and stay away from it. This prostration of the angels was not an act of worship to Adam. (It was a formal prostration, a kind of greeting that was done to acknowledge his high status and authority.) Also, since it was a command from Allah, then obeying His command is actually worshipping Allah. So for this human life that was to come to earth, the earth would give everything it had, serving humanity for its use. Natural resources, animals, plants, sea valleys, mountains... everything would be subordinated to humanity, at that moment, the angels were also commanded to prostrate to the father of humanity. The angels immediately obeyed this command

6:08 and prostrated. At this point in the story, what were the other differences between the Quran and the Bible? In the Bible, the person who named the objects and animals was Adam himself. On the other hand, in Islam, the command to prostrate to Adam, the rebellion of Satan, and his expulsion. None of these events are mentioned in the Bible; nor is the Bible mentioning how Satan Evil is the enemy of mankind. But after this point, the Quran and the Bible begin to talk about the same events but in very different ways. From here we see the struggle between man and Satan, the struggle between truth and falsehood that will continue until the Day of Judgment. In the continuation of the story, Allah created our mother Eve (peace be upon her) from a rib as Adam's wife. The Quran tells what happened next: And We said, 'O Adam! Dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat from it as you wish,

6:54 but do not approach this tree. Then you will be among the transgressors.'" Allah warns in the Quran: He (Allah) said, "O Adam! This is your and your wife's enemy. May he never expel you from Paradise, otherwise you will fall into misery. In the Quran, Allah says that if they disobey the command, they will be lawbreakers, but in the Bible, God says that they will die at that moment. What a big difference! “And the Lord God commanded Adam, saying, ‘You may freely eat of every tree of the garden; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.’” For Satan, this was a great opportunity. He saw this as a reason to expel Adam from God's presence. And he was ready to do whatever he could to get revenge. With all kinds of deceptive talk,

7:40 he tried to get into their minds. “But Satan said to him, ‘O Adam! Shall I show you the tree of immortality and a kingdom that will never fade?’” He was pointing at the forbidden tree. But in the biblical version, it was a snake that went not to Adam but to Eve. According to Christian scholars, it was actually Satan who was speaking through this snake. ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, and you shall not touch it, lest you die.’” “‘You shall not surely die.’ The serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Satan took his first steps to lead Adam and his descendants astray, eventually deceiving both of them with his tricks and insinuations. Adam and Eve temporarily forgot God’s warning about the tree. Both listened to Satan

8:26 and tasted the fruit. Immediately, their private parts began to be visible to each other. As a result, they felt very ashamed and tried to cover themselves with the leaves of the garden. They realized that they had been deceived by Satan but now, it was too late. So, what would they do now? According to the Bible, they tried to run away and hide from God. “Then they heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.” “But the Lord God called to Adam, ‘Where are you?’” “He answered, ‘I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; So I hid.’” “And he said, ‘Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree which I forbade you to eat from?’” In the Quran, there is no mention of such an event. Because in Islam, there is no belief that people can hide from Allah, that Allah is ever unable to see them,

9:14 or that He can learn about events later. He sees and knows everything at every moment. Of course, by definition, Allah is a perfect being who is omnipotent and without error. For example, verse 4 of Surah At-Tagabun states: “ He knows whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and He knows what you conceal and what you reveal. He is fully aware of what is in the hearts.” That is why, when they made that mistake, in the Quran, Allah directly tells them: “(...) Did I not forbid you from this tree and tell you that Satan is your open enemy?” So, what will be the consequences of their actions? Now it's time to send them to Earth. But according to the Bible, Adam, Eve, and the serpent will each receive a different punishment. In the

10:00 third chapter of Genesis, the serpent is cursed to roll on its belly. And because of Adam's mistake, the ground is cursed and, as a result, no harvest will come without hardship and labor. And Eve's punishment is described in that chapter as follows: "To the woman God said, 'I will greatly increase your pain in childbearing; in painful ways you will bring forth children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.'" But does Islam agree with this view? According to Islam, no one has been cursed except Satan. The labor required to obtain the harvest is part of the test of this world. And for women, giving birth is not a punishment but a sacred duty. Sacred because Islam has elevated the status of mothers in many ways. One hadith from the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is

10:45 enough to understand this. When a companion, who wanted to fight in the way of Allah, sought his advice, the Prophet asked him if his mother was there. When she said yes, the Prophet said: “Then stay with her, for Paradise is under her (your mother’s) feet.” (In the Quran, Allah reminds believers of the hardships their mothers go through while pregnant and for this, He wants them to respect and be grateful to their mothers. But beyond that, there was one significant point that most of us probably missed. What would happen if the prohibition regarding the tree was violated? In the Quran and the Bible, what Allah said and what Satan said, so what ultimately happened and who was proven right? Let's compare them. According to the Bible, God said, "(...) when you eat of it, you will surely die." And what did Satan say would happen?

11:31 Let's look at the conversation between Eve and Satan in the Bible when he came in the form of a serpent. Eve says: "But God said, 'You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you shall not touch it, lest you die.' 'You shall not surely die,'" the serpent said to the woman. Oddly enough, according to the Bible, Satan was proven right because when they ate of the fruit, they did not die. On the other hand, in the Quran, Satan says, "(...) your Lord has forbidden you to come near this tree, lest you die. He forbade them because you will become angels or you will be among the eternal ones.’ But what did Allah tell them at the beginning? “Do not approach this tree, otherwise you will be wrongdoers.” Allah warned them in another place: “Then We said, ‘O Adam, this is an enemy to you and to your wife. So let him not expel you both from Paradise, lest you suffer a calamity.’

12:16 So according to the Quran, Allah spoke the truth and Satan lied. But beyond that, there was a secret that makes the Quranic story very different. Compared to the Bible, the reason for sending them to earth was not for violating the prohibition. So, what was the reason? As mentioned in the first verse of this video, let us see: “Remember, when your Lord said to the angels, ‘Indeed, I am creating a vicegerent on earth’, mankind was, from the beginning, created to be sent to earth. Even before eating the forbidden fruit, Satan asked Allah’s permission, saying, “Then Give time until the Day of Resurrection.” So, it was known that mankind would come to earth, reproduce, die, and one day be resurrected and answer for all their deeds.

13:01 So, what was the purpose of all these events? Why did it seem like Adam was expelled from heaven? All this happened to give a fundamental message to humanity at all times, including you. Unlike the angels, humans were created with the ability to choose good or evil. And that is exactly what makes them superior: to choose good despite the possibility of choosing evil. This is how they will achieve the status of caliph that Allah said at the beginning. And Satan did exactly what he would do throughout his life on this earth, and deceived the first humans. In Islam, prophets do not sin; therefore, it is a “jalleh,” a mistake, a mistake that is not considered a sin. And it sends the message that every servant of Allah can make a mistake. But when that happens, what is the solution? Is

13:47 it to feel disappointed, to feel cursed if he disobeys Allah once? No, the answer is also Adam (PBUH) is in the story of the Prophet (PBUH). When both Adam and Eve ate from the tree, they immediately said: "(...) Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will surely be among the losers." So they took responsibility, made no excuses and sincerely asked Allah for forgiveness. This was the solution after making a mistake. Now it was time to leave Paradise. Allah sent Adam and Eve to their new home, the earth. Both were very sad and confused. They were in two completely different countries and moreover they were separated from each other. Allah sent them to different parts of the earth. This place was not at all like paradise.

14:32 They could no longer get what they wanted instantly. Now their lives required patience, effort and struggle. A few days later, Adam was inspired and received the good news of forgiveness from Allah. The Quran says: "Then Adam received some words from his Lord, and Allah accepted his repentance. Indeed, He is the Acceptor of repentance, the Most Merciful. Merciful.” But the Bible does not mention that Adam asked God for forgiveness and his repentance was accepted. What I am going to compare now is very important to understand: When you look at the story, at the beginning, both Satan and Adam make a mistake. Satan did not prostrate and Adam ate the forbidden fruit. He admitted his mistake, expressed regret and asked God for forgiveness and his repentance was accepted. On the other hand, Satan, instead of admitting his mistake,

15:19 became arrogant to the point of blaming God. He did not express regret to God, and for that, the door of repentance was closed forever. This is where the difference in outlook on life and this world is revealed. When you learn the story correctly, you will naturally come to the right conclusion. So, our Creator is not someone who is unjust, who is angry with humanity. For a mistake that the first humans made and finds them all guilty. Our Creator is just and merciful, who wants to guide all humanity on the right path so that they can go to heaven. Let’s go back to the last part of the story. Let's go. Adam (peace be upon him) has not yet found Eve (peace be upon him). They have been separated for many years and have traveled a long way to find each other. Finally, they met each other on Mount Arafat and were reunited.

16:04 Now humanity's journey on earth has begun and the silence of the world has finally been broken. As the years have passed, the descendants of Adam and Eve have gradually spread out and the human population has continued to grow. This world of trials will continue for thousands of years, people will settle all over the world, establish tribes and kingdoms. Over the centuries, thousands of prophets will come and, like their ancestor Adam, tell people why they have come here. They will tell them about the source and destination of their arrival, and call them to faith. And people will live on this earth for a short time, test them and return to their destination and finally, those who have believed, led by their prophets, will go to their true home, Paradise. On

16:50 the other hand, Satan, on the other hand, will take the unbelievers after him and lead them only to the promised fire. In this journey of life, humanity will An inheritance from the ancestor Adam. According to Christianity, it is a sin that is transferred to every newborn child... and according to Islam, it is an act of repentance that erases all sins and opens a bright white page.
