00 Gary Neville's time at Valencia is one of football's most famous failures. He had no clean sheets in La Liga. Just three wins in 16 and 28 games after he joined, he was gone. So today, we're stepping into his shoes on FIFA 16 to see if we can do any better. We'll be starting 10 games into the season, which gives us 28 matches to see what Neville could have been. While he managed in multiple competitions, I'm only going to be playing my matches in La Liga. So, can we do what Gary Neville couldn't? Maybe we can survive the pressure of managing a top Spanish club, turn things around mid-season, and maybe, just maybe, drag this team into the Champions League. Well, we're about to find out. So, let's see what state the squad is in, and if it's as bad as Neville has made out on his podcast multiple times. Well, there are some proper FIFA 16
45 legends in this squad. Alcaser had like 86 potential. Rodrigo, Enzo Perez, and Cano were three of the best cheap signings you can make. And even Mustafi was super high potential back then. Patti, Negrado, Andre Gomez, and Faguli. This team is basically full of the Spanish version of whatever a Barclays man is in Spain. Like I said before, to make sure we have the same amount of games as Neville, we've also simulated 10 games into the season. And look at the table. That is absolutely unreal, but also means we're not going to get a transfer window for a bunch more matches. We're going to need to get our tactics spot on if we want to survive. Neville played something like this in real life, so at least we know what to avoid. I'm going to go with this tactic, which is kind of based on Mourinho's back on FIFA 14. I love going back in time to play these older FIFA games.
30 They're just so different to FC25. So much more fun. Kicking off and yeah, hopefully we can get off to a good start against Atletico Madrid. They get into the box and hit the post. Diego Alva's nowhere near it. And again, okay, this time he does get a touch. We're totally under siege here. Rodrigo into the box and it's caught by all Black Martinez. Do you remember this guy? Wow, he's got so much pace into the box as well. And he's hit the post again. Okay, can we whip this in with Canelo? We're going back post and it hits Felipe Luiz. Corner. Can Mustafi win it? Is bouncing around. We're going to try and turn and somehow I think a free kick's been given against us there. Oh, mistake from God. Can he find Rodrigo through the middle? He can't. Oblak sweeper keeping like Manuel Neuer. And that's that then. Nil nil. A pretty boring way to start our
18 career as Gary Neville, but I guess he wasn't the most exciting player either. Okay, on to game two against Las Palmas, one of the worst teams in the league. So, this hopefully should be a win. Parejo, nice shot. It rebounds out to us. I don't know why we're shooting there. That's Palmas trying to do some build up. And they really can't. Negredo into the box. Another long shot. Good save from Vass to keep it nil nil. Pereo. I think we've got Negrado making a run. He's cut inside on the volley and off the post again. Our finishing so bad. Alves catches the ball from the corner. Can we get it long? Okay, I think that's Bali. It is. He's twoon-one. If we can beat this guy, which we do. The roulette's amazing. And we've got a runner through the middle. It's the Grado. One-on-one. Surely we can finesse this.
03 They pulled the out. What a lucky goal that was. The rebound falling straight in the grado, but we will take it. Get in there. That's our first win of the season as Gary Neville. And we're actually on track to have a pretty good season. I'm gonna state right now that our goal is to try and get the Champions League with this team. Gary Neville was nowhere near. But we go on to beat Seville and then we have a huge game against Barcelona coming up. But before we go any further, you might be interested in today's video sponsor, El Dorado. And we're playing against Barcelona. Look how good this team is. Suarez, Messi, Neymar, Rakatic, Iniesta, Busett in midfield. If we've got any chance of winning this, we're going to need to be on absolute top form. And I think that's
35 Iniesta getting away from Santos. Ball comes in. For some reason, Barcelona do seem to like to spam the crosses in, but it goes back to Neymar. Cool touch from him, but good save from Alves. Messi into Rakatic. Back to Messi. Slide tackle to Suarez. Messi again on the volley and Neymar's there to head it in. Oh my god, that was just an unreal goal. There's nothing we could have done to stop that. Negrado against Mascarano. I didn't realize he was playing center back, so maybe that's something we can exploit. Gomez gets the cross in. And Mascarano can't head it away. Can we get another one in from Bali? We can. And this time, Negrado can get the header. And just by doing that one foul, I think we might have found this Barcelona team's weakness. They have a very short set of center backs. Fuego nicks it off in the Negrados through against
22 Mascerano again. Can he outmuscle him? He can. Can he get the shot away? Jeremy Matthew just has too much pace and Fuego's header is miles off target. Iniesta trying to back heal it in midfield. Not sure why. Negredo gets it out to Pereo. I think it is into the box and what a finish. What a finish that is and we are ahead against Barcelona. What on earth is happening? This Valencia team is just unreal. Bus gets forward to PK's playing right wing for some reason. Out of Terraran gets it across but Canel is so calm heading that back to Alves and hopefully this clearance just ends the match. There it is. We have beaten Barcelona 2-1. I'm not sure how we've done it. It was two very fortunate goals and they dominated the match. 39%
07 possession, man. But we've somehow done it. So, we've proven we can beat the biggest teams in the league and then we prove we can beat some of the smaller Ibar Gafe. We draw with our rivals, Villa Royale, and then we get to play another huge match against Real Madrid. This is a huge top-of-the- table clash. Second versus third. And a win here would make it basically us versus Villa Royale for the title. But can we do it? Modric gets absolutely wiped out by Parejo. That was a good tackle. Parejo's corner comes in and Casia just punches Mustafi I think it was. And Ga's long shot could have deflected anywhere but I think Ronaldo gets the clearance in. Bali through to Paco Alcaser. He gets around PK. That's Ramos next to him. Yeah, we can't get around them both. But then Fuego gets the shot away still. Are
54 we about to see a Ronaldo masterclass? No, we are not. And Isco wins the ball off Perejo. Canelo with a great tackle. Fuego gets it into Andre Gomez. He gives it to Rodrigo and I think Alcaser's through. Can we outpace Pepe? We can't. He gets the block in. What a bit of defensive action that was. Alkasair penalty going and going down. Is it going to be a red as well for Pepe? It absolutely is. And what am I looking at? I've forgotten how these work. And that is gone into the stand with Baleo on the attack. This could be the last attack of the game. What a bit of defensive work that was from Santos. And I guess you can't be too sad about a nil nil with Real Madrid. But let's compare our stats now to what Gary Neville actually had in real life. We are absolutely bossing it.
42 But things could get even better. We're going to agree a deal with David Via, of course, a Valencia legend before he went to Barcelona. We're going to rescue him from his MLS nightmare. And who knows, he could be the missing piece of the puzzle. The Caesars win the league, which absolutely I was not expecting when I started this video. Well, our next few games really good. Reo Valicano, we win 5-0. Deportivo and Granada draw with us. We beat Bettis and then it's time to play Atletico Madrid again. Now, of course, we're quite far into the season at this point. David Vier has already been integrated into the squad, but we are kind of finding it hard to use his lack of pace out wide, so maybe we're going to have to try and switch things up the second half of the season. Rodrigo gets away from Gimenez.
29 That could have been another penalty. How is that not a penalty? I'm still fuming at that referee, man. How is that not a penalty? Via out wide. We've got Rodrigo. Can we score? Oh, black comes out again. It's not the first time that he's stopped a goal this season. Carrasco trying to come inside. Koke. Raalo Garcia. Griezmann. Raul Garcia. How has he missed that? Thank god. Rodrigo gets it out to Fouli. Can he cut inside? He's going to try it. Back to Rodrigo. Turn and shoot. Opening off the post. Unsavable. What a finish that was from the Spanish striker. That could be so big. And it's actually inspired Atletico Madrid to bring on Torres. Will
14 he punishes? There is Torres. Oh my god, that's one of the worst finishes I've ever seen. Got in. And I think Atletico Madrid are maybe doing a bad finishing contest because they are awful. And what a good finish that was for Valencia. We get the one- nil win. Not the most exciting score line you'll ever see, but so big when it comes to the context of this season. We actually only have 12 games remaining and we're two points behind Barcelona with a game in hand. We go on to beat Bill Bao 1 nil. Then against Levante, we draw a late equalizer for them. We beat Malaga 3-2 away. We beat Seltviggo 2-0 at home. But this loss against Las Palmas, I can't forgive myself for it. It could be so big come the end of the season because
01 now with just a few matches to go, we're still one point behind Barcelona. But we are playing them at the camp new in this game. This match is so big when it comes to the final results of the season. If we win, we could win the league. If we lose or draw, it's probably going to be Barcelona. So, we need to absolutely make sure we win. Bit of a mistake there. And yes, pounces on it, but I think we can clear it. But Bets gets on the end of it. We miss our side tackle and we're 1 n down within 10 minutes. Not the start we needed. Fuego gets nailed and Barcelona are properly up for this game. Suarez, he's got Messi out wide. We need to get across with our defender. We haven't got enough pace and Neymar makes it 2-0 with the slide tackle finish. Not the kind of finish
47 you expect from a Brazilian, but it all counts the same. Can we get away from Mascarano? We can. He was last man there surely, but no card is given. And Rodrigo against Mascarano. He shouldn't even be on the pitch, but we run around him. Rodrigo. We've got someone in the middle. We cut it across. And what a goal. That could be so big. All we have to do now is keep pushing and try and get that second goal. Okay, maybe we pushed a little bit too hard with that one. That could be a red card, but thankfully only given us a yellow. Jeremy Matthew passes it back to their goalkeeper. We're going to keep pressing. We've only got 2 minutes left. And Mustafi intercepts it. I'm not sure why he's up there, but he pulls it across and Rodrigo with the finish. That could have saved our season, but now we are going to be relying on Barcelona to
34 drop points. We're going to try and hold on for this. Surely there's not one last turn. Alex Vidal plays it through to Araan. It's a goal, but it's offside. Oh my god. That could be the decision that saves our season. Jesus, this was such an intense match, but it's all over. They were unbelievable. Barcelona. I mean, Suarez Messi and Neymar playing up front. And to be honest with you, Neymar was taking the he absolutely was. It's true. We couldn't stop Neymar in that game, but we could stop Ibar 2-1 in the next match against Gafe. A similar result, 2n. But as good as we are, Barcelona are obviously still just as good as us. So that means we're going into matches like this one against Villa Royale, our rivals who are going to
20 finish probably fourth in La Liga, which is a crazy season for them, too. Do Santos, former Barcelona player, of course, pulls it back to Salardo. We missed the tackle and he smashes it near post again. Another bad start for us. And our pass goes wild. And Seldo has got this two on two. We've dived in. Mascarano got away with it. But of course, a Valencia player is never going to get away with that one. Salad into Bruno. And we're relying on Alves to keep us in this. More good play from Dos Santos. Falls to Sardo to Rukavina. And again, they missed the target. There's really not long left now. Andre Gomez, we've got a man on the edge of the box. Goes in between them, but Canelo gets it. Can we one two with Mustafi chips it up? Canelo surely. And he's found the
07 top corner. He's hit it over the goalkeeper from our right back. I think that's his first goal of the season. And now Faguli. Can we get a late winner? Oh, Alcaser not quite able to win the header. And we've just given the ball straight to Villa Royale. Surely they're not going to get the late winner themselves. Sado Alves has come. Alves has missed it. It's an open goal and for some reason he's tried to cross it to Pereira. Can we get one last attack in? I think that's Mustafi playing right wing still. He's going to go out for a throw in. Can we take it long? We can't take it at all because the referee said that's game over. 1-1 and probably that's going to be the result. That means we're not going to win La Liga. Finishing second would still be an unbelievable season. That wouldn't be Gary Neville.
56 When you had a season where you could win the league, finishing second just never feels right. No matter what you say there, Gary Neville, but Real Madrid, massive game, really good players as usual. We can't make any mistakes. Alves throws it out. Bale intercepts it. And that's James into Bale into the box. Penalty. Penalty. I'm not so sure about that one, but we guess the right way. And Ronaldo's penalty is saved by Diego Alves. Come on. All the momentum's on our side. Rodrigo through. Pepe nails him. Surely this one is also a red again. Not even a card. Parejo's free kick. Miles over the bar. We were so through. Come on, refs. Alves picks the ball up. We're going to
43 hit it long, but I think Fouli is going to get beaten by Marcel. That's an awful touch though. Faguli out of absolutely nothing through 101 against Casar. He hits it straight through him and that's his 14th goal of the season. We're ahead and what a time to get it. Marcelo long ball forward. Benzema flicks it on and Hams is there. That is a goal you expect from Rodale or Stoke City, not from Real Madrid. Parejo into Faguli. Back to Perejo. He's not got a huge amount of pace, but he's got enough strength to hold off Marcelo for now. Cuts back inside. Gives it to Canelo. Out to Rodrigo's there, and what a brave header that is. I think he got double fist punched in
28 the head, but he's put us ahead. What an absolute beast of a header. I think Mustafi had Ronaldo, but Ronaldo somehow glitches around him. Great defending from Mustafi. What a player he's been this season. Alves collects the ball. Their goalkeepers up though, so let's see if we can score. Enzo Perez just hit it from there. This is tracking, but the referee again, he he blows his whistle. You can see that was bouncing in. That's so annoying because goal difference could be massive given that Barcelona have more points than us. But yeah, I think we probably basically are going to have to admit that we're not going to win the league. Even though we would go on to beat Sashiadad, just that threepoint gap if we'd have just beaten Barcelona, I think we had a decent
14 chance, but we just couldn't do it. But still, we have absolutely dominated Gary Neville's career record. We have proved that this team really wasn't that bad, at least in FIFA. And we've somehow managed to get Valencia to second place in La Liga, even though this was the era of Ronaldo at Real Madrid and the MSN era at Barcelona. But yeah, that's our record on the bottom there. 30 wins, 15 draws, just four losses. Absolutely amazing stuff. If you think you can do better, why don't you send me a screenshot over on Twitter, Instagram, or on Discord. But thank you so much for watching. Hopefully you've enjoyed this video, a little bit different, and I'll see you soon. Cheers and goodbye.
