Intro to TikTok Boot Camp

Namolinah is attending a TikTok boot camp hosted by Creator HQ, a five-day intensive course for creators with over 10,000 followers. She expresses a mix of nervousness and excitement about the experience, unsure of what to expect with 80 other creators. The boot camp will cover editing, collaborations, and other essential skills, culminating in a certificate. The course fee is 1,500 dirhams, which she considers reasonable given Creator HQ's past hospitality. She anticipates learning from TikTok experts and guest speakers.

Day One and Museum of Candy Visit

Day one of the boot camp was a success, with Namolinah meeting creators from around the world and making a friend from Miami. She also visited the Museum of Candy in Dubai, describing it as a sweet and educational experience. The museum is interactive, with games and tasting stations, including an unlimited ice cream room. She recommends it for both adults and children who love sweets, highlighting its unexpected educational value.

Day Two: Exhaustion and Group Challenges

Namolinah recounts her exhaustion after a long day of class, which ended at 11:00 p.m. She reflects on the challenges of balancing education with her other commitments, noting that overstretching herself can lead to tasks not being done well. She received goodies from the Museum of Candy, a collaboration with Get Your Guide, and plans to showcase them on TikTok. The boot camp has divided participants into groups for challenges, with her group named "The Tik Tok Cookbook." They have a cash prize to compete for, requiring them to use skills learned in class, particularly Cap Cut. Despite her fatigue, she acknowledges the value of the challenge and the opportunity to learn a new editing app.

Day Three: Overcoming a Difficult Morning

Namolinah describes a horrendous morning marked by a headache, issues with a remote shoot, and a fall that broke her highlight palette. She expresses feeling overwhelmed and on the verge of tears. Garden work outside her home disrupted her sleep and filming schedule. Despite these challenges, she is determined to attend the boot camp, viewing it as an opportunity to develop emotional intelligence by pushing through difficulties.

Day Three: TikTok Insights and Storytelling

The TikTok boot camp covered creator search insights, which help users understand trending content topics and identify content gaps. Full-screen, vertical videos perform best on TikTok, ensuring a smooth viewing experience. The ideal video length depends on the content and audience engagement, with analytics being crucial for testing what works best. A guest speaker, Shahaz, shared her story of using TikTok to achieve her dreams of opening a bakery and publishing a book, emphasising the importance of relatable storytelling.

Day Three: Monetisation and Authenticity

The boot camp addressed how creators get paid for campaigns on TikTok, distinguishing between on-platform and offline payments. TikTok One, a platform for connecting brands with creators, is currently exclusive to creators working with agencies but will soon be available to everyone. An agency representative discussed the importance of authenticity in branded content, advising creators to genuinely love the products they promote and to integrate their personal stories into their content. Concerns about spam and suspicious links were raised, with TikTok representatives assuring creators that safety is a top priority and that measures are being taken to verify clients and prevent fraudulent activity.

Day Three: TikTok Live and Creator Networks

The session covered TikTok Live, its potential, and the role of TikTok creator networks (agencies). Unlike traditional media, TikTok Live offers immediate interaction between creators and viewers. Agencies bridge the gap between TikTok and creators, providing training, content guidance, and support. Going live is about entertainment and disconnecting, and agencies can help creators navigate this new landscape. The revenue from live gifts is split between the creator, TikTok, and the agency. While agencies can be helpful at any stage, the most important factor is the creator's own effort and self-development.

Day Four: Positive Turnaround and Future Plans

Namolinah reports that day four went well, with the positive atmosphere at the boot camp cheering her up. She learned valuable information about making money on TikTok, particularly for South African creators, hinting at significant opportunities on the horizon. She is motivated to contribute to her group's challenge, aiming to win the 15,000 rand prize. Despite a last-minute script change causing some stress, she appreciates being around positive creators and gaining insights into issues like payment disparities for South African accounts.

Day Five: Verification and Community

On the final day of the boot camp, creators discussed verification, with TikTok representatives explaining that it's not a personal decision but based on a committee review. Verification is not as important as creating good content, and TikTok actively works to remove copycat accounts. The fastest way to get support is through the app, though response times may vary due to the high volume of requests. The day included a challenge and performances by musicians, which Namolinah enthusiastically supported.

Boot Camp Conclusion and Future Plans

Namolinah concludes her time at Creator HQ, expressing gratitude to the TikTok team and Creator HQ. She congratulates the winning team and reflects on the valuable experience. Exhausted but inspired, she plans to buy a new suitcase and host a wig sale to declutter her belongings. She acknowledges the importance of continuous learning and improvement and encourages viewers to take advantage of opportunities that come their way. Despite a negative experience with a clothing company, she remains positive and focused on applying what she has learned at the boot camp.

0:00 Hey guys, guess who is part of the Tik Tok boot camp? So, Creator HQ is hosting a Tik Tok boot camp Monday to Friday. We will be going to school and today's day one. I'm a bit nervous. I don't want to lie. I'm not really sure how everything's going to go because there's going to be 80 of us. Now, the only requirements is that you had to have over 10,000 followers. This is a Tik Tok boot camp, so we'll be learning about editing. We'll be learning about collaborations, all that good stuff. I'm very very excited. And it comes with a certificate at the end of all of this. So looking forward to it, but I'm also a bit nervous. This was not free. It was 1,500 300 dirhams. 1,500 rand. Yeah. But every single time I've gone to Creator HQ,

0:46 they've always taken care of us. So, you know, I don't think it's too much to ask for us to pay 300 um dirhams. And I believe they will also have speakers there as well. Apart from like the Tik Tok people, I believe they will also have speakers there. So guys, let's go to day one of the creator boot camp with Tik Tok and Creator HQ. [Music] If I tell you I tell you I tell you now

1:33 you keep on keep on keep on loving. I tell you, I tell you, I tell you how I feel. Will you keep bringing the best in me? Give me give me. Day one of the boot camp was amazing. I got to meet creators from all over the world. I even made a friend from Miami. It was so much fun and we also got lots of practical tips. storm that never felt like this before. There's a quiet storm that is you. There's a storm. Never felt this hot.

2:30 When I saw that Dubai has an entire museum dedicated to candy, my sweet tooth was jumping for joy. Not only is this a sweet treat, but it's also very educational. I had such a good time at the Museum of Candy. For me, this was heaven on earth. They don't know. I bet they know as soon as we walk in [Music] the woods. Don't look too hard. Might hurt yourself. Know the color red to blue. I'm a dangerous man. Put some money in my pocket. So many pretty girls around me and they waking up the mad fix. They all be talking. [Music]

3:16 Watch out. Bring her to the [Music] second. [Music] If you are a solo traveler, you are going to love this place because the staff will help you to take your pictures and your videos. I didn't even have to ask them. I just walk into the room and they're like, "Hi, how are you?" They explain everything. They say, "Do you want pictures? Do you want videos?" They are so helpful. The service here is impeccable. Highly, highly recommend coming here. Don't be shy if you're a solo traveler. Trust me, you're going to have a great time.

4:05 Why you [Music] The Museum of Candy is not your typical museum. This is fully interactive. They have games available. They have tasting stations. And this was one of the rooms that was all about ice cream. They had three different ice creams. And you can have an unlimited amount of ice cream. The kids were having so much fun, but I was also having fun. I got to taste all the three different flavors. And you can take your time. No one is rushing you. You can relax and just have a good time.

4:51 [Music] 24. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Can any of you just guess what time it is? Like, just guess what time my day

5:38 ended today? I look a hot mess because that's how I feel. It is 11:00 p.m. Class ran over today and then I went to get food cuz I was like, I'm not going to order. I'm just going to go straight to the restaurant, get my food, and eat at home. I am so exhausted. This Hannah Montana life is not for me. This for me is proof why I keep telling you guys that as much as I love education and I value it so much. I respect it so much. I'm just not in a place right now in my life where I can take a month, 6 months, 3 years going back to school. I am doing way too much. And one thing I hate about overstretching yourself is while you can

6:23 get things done, you don't get them all done well. Anyway, I got goodies from Museum of Candy. I didn't think that you actually get stuff. So, I will make a video on Tik Tok cuz this is a Get Your Guide collaboration. So, if you want to see all the stuff, I don't want to bore you guys. If you guys want to see all the free stuff that I got while going through the Museum of Candy, guys, I love this passport thing. Like, first of all, the quality of it. This is not some cheap passport. You go all around and it was so much fun. This was like so much fun. You get a stamp for the different rooms. This was fun. I feel like if you have kids, you have to go. And I feel like if you're an adult who loves sweets, you

7:10 have to go cuz it was also educational. That's something I didn't expect. I just thought a vibe, you know, pictures. That's what I thought. It's just vibes, you know, museums for people who are or who have seen all the museums and they're like, "Oh, let's learn about sweets." you know, but you actually learn stuff in there. So, I have a whole stash of sweets that I can go through. I'm really, really excited about this. I had a lot of fun. I am going to sleep. Tomorrow is going to be day three. They put us in groups, guys. This is the thing. Like, because I'm Hannah Montana, I just don't have the energy for all the stuff, but I want to. And I feel so bad cuz I really want to. So, we have a challenge as the Tik Tok creators. So they put us into different groups of five people. There's 80 of us total. My

7:56 group is called the Tik Tok cookbook. So we have a WhatsApp group chat that we created today and tomorrow we have to meet up to strategize. They have a cash prize that they're giving away on Saturday. Okay. They have a challenge that you get after class to use all the skills and information that they've given you during the class. So today was mainly about Cap Cut. So, the challenge for today includes using different effects from Cap Cut. I don't use Cap Cut. I use Power Director. I have the app. I just never got round to it cuz I'm so comfortable with Power Director. So, this would be a really good challenge for me cuz there's so many things that I've seen people do on social media where I'm like, how are they doing it? It's Cap Cut, but I don't know how to use it, you know? So, today's class is something that I should be participating in the challenge, but

8:42 I'm tired, guys. It's 11:00. I'm still waiting for my water to get hot. I just got here and it's 11:00. I still have to wait for my water to get hot, remove this wig, eat, remove my contacts so that I can stop seeing cuz if I can still see, I'll probably try and push some work. So, I need to go back to factory settings. And it's 11:00. That's still going to take like 30 minutes to an hour. So, I probably sleep at like 12 or like tomorrow at like 1:00 a.m. And then imagine me still putting in the effort to do a challenge. These challenges, it's like you post them on Tik Tok and you use the hashtags for the group that you are part of so that they can see it and count your entries. And I'm just like, I would love to, but I'm exhausted. So, tomorrow I'm going to go

9:29 to school early. Um, we have a group chat, which is really nice. One of the girls started a group chat. It's four girls and one guy. The poor guy is just surrounded by girls, but he seems very chill. I think we're actually going to work really, really well together. And yeah, we will see what happens tomorrow. If I don't show you guys too much at school, it's because I'm trying to pay attention. And then also like today my battery was running low because I have so many other things that I'm doing as well and everything is online. So that means that I'm constantly on my phone. By the time it gets to class time from 6:00 till 9, my phone is at like 20%. Because I've been using it the whole day. I've been working, you know. It's just Yeah, it's hectic. But yeah, I'll see you guys tomorrow for day three.

10:15 Good morning, guys. It is day three. I am going back to the boot camp at Tik Tok. And I don't want to lie to you guys. I am running on empty. I'm absolutely exhausted. Today morning was horrendous. Woke up with a terrible headache. Literally took two panad like headache pills. I think they call it panadol in this country. And after that I had to work with someone who's shooting for me in another country. So now I'm working with time zones. I'm working with them like they're shooting the content, sending it to me. I'm approving it. That was a whole another thing that was seriously giving me a headache. I'm trying to do my makeup. I have this headache. And guess what happens? I fall off my chair. So, right

11:00 now, my back, I feel like by tomorrow it's going to be bruised and painful. So, I literally fell off my chair. Broke one of my palettes. Um, it's the palette I've been using for my highlight. And I'm just, you know, those days where it's just problem after problem after problem after problem. I'm extremely extremely overwhelmed. I feel like crying. Like, I'm so overwhelmed. Lastly, in the morning, they were busy with the garden. So, I couldn't even sleep properly cuz I wanted to sleep a little later. I couldn't sleep properly. So, I forced myself to wake up even though I had the headache. Now, when I'm like, let me quickly film before I go to school cuz they asked us to come at 5:00. Class actually starts at 6:00, but they asked us asked us to come at 5:00. Now, I'm like, let me do my makeup quickly, film, and guess what? They're

11:47 busy with the garden outside. So, I do have I use an app called Power Director. I do have an app where you can remove the sound at the back, but then your actual speaking sound gets distorted. It doesn't quite sound natural and like, you know, like you're speaking live. It's It sounds a bit funny and I'm just like, I don't want to risk that. I'm just overwhelmed, Sham. But regardless, I am going to school today. I am going to try my best. And I'm really really thinking that this is, you know, sometimes you ask God to give you something. I've prayed a lot of times for emotional intelligence and I think I am definitely um developing it. Like I am getting so much emotional intelligence because I'm forced to ignore the things that go wrong and just keep going. So let's go to day three at

12:33 the Tik Tok boot camp at Creator HQ. [Music] Do you see her? She's living life. Even if she acts like she but you know she liv [Music] that she surprise I know what she need I know what she think

13:22 she flash the lights you never want on the knees. That's a dream. Everybody scream. [Music] Creator search insights will help you understand what kind of content topics are being searched the most from users.

14:08 Okay. Now you can also filter out based on content gaps. So for example you it would help you show so for example there's a certain topic let's say uh book reviews okay a lot of people are searching for book reviews but there isn't enough content like the audience are not finding enough content under this topic but they are searching for it a lot so this is an opportunity for you to hop on this topic if it's relevant to your content because you know that a lot of people are searching for it but still there isn't enough content. Now when posting any video what are the best practices that I should take into consideration? First the aspect ratio which is full

14:56 screen video perform best. Usually on Tik Tok vertical videos perform the best because it will ensure a smooth viewing experience to your audience. And then the length of the video. I got asked a lot should I post a short form video or a long form video. Does anyone have a answer to this question? It depends. Depends on the content. Your kind of content the goal. Okay. But both are right. It depends on the average watch time whether it's a short or a long video. And how do you determine if people will watch your video to the end or how do you determine if I'm posting high like

15:41 long-term videos that my audience are entertained? So it's always nice to go back to your analytics on that you will find on your profile to test and see. So for example, don't just post a long form video just for the sake that okay I want to post a long form video. No, if you have a story, for example, if you have a story that you feel that it requires more time to explain to your audience, perfect. If you have a certain tutorial that might not finish within less than a minute, great. But just don't post a long video content or a long video format just for the sake that okay, I want to hop on this trend and I want to create a long format video, right? Okay. But again, always go back to your analytics. Always test and see which

16:29 videos are performing best, which videos your niche are liking the best. By the way, disclaimer, Shahaz is a little bit sick today, but she really insisted in coming to meet you all guys and to tell you your story. Thank you. You chose this cake on purpose. I really liked it to be honest. Hi everyone. Hello. I'm so honored to be speaking to you today and I'm so happy to share my tips. I'm actually talking about a very special topic to my heart which is storytelling because for me it's something natural. It happened to be beneficial for social media but it's a part of my journey how I reached where I am today and how it helped me to achieve

17:15 three dreams in one year. So when I was a little girl, maybe some of you have girls, maybe you yourselves have dreams. I always dreamt of having my own bakery and I didn't know that one day this is actually going to happen. I was I'm a banker. I'm still a banker today. So every day after coming back from work, I'm I'm good behind the camera, but I'm not very good in front of a crowd. So just bear with me. I'm a bit nervous. Uh so every day after I came back from work, I was just trying in the kitchen. I'm not a chef. I'm self-taught. I was baking when my son went to sleep and it was just a hobby. And I started posting my creations on social media and I was always sharing my story. So I was sharing my journey

18:00 telling people that you know one day I want to open my own bakery. One day I want to have my own book. uh you know and in 2021 one year after the co because a lot of people became viral during the co for me it was the year after so um one year after the co I blew up on Tik Tok and the video that made me viral the first video was actually a story so a lot of people were asking me like shahad why do you create all these cakes all the time if if you're working full-time if you don't sell them if they're not orders so again after my kid slept and my husband slept and the house was gone. I was like, you know what? I'm going to answer this recurring question that I see on so many of my videos. And I I posted the

18:46 real story, which is basically that I don't sell these cakes. I just, you know, cut them out. I take them with me to work. I give them to the security, etc. And I slept. I went to work the next morning. You know, in the afternoon when you're bored of class, you want to go home. I opened my phone. the video had jumped to 400 to 400,000 views and I had jumped 10,000 followers in less than 24 hours and that was the first one. Then, you know, every video started going viral. I didn't have a lot of content to shoot because I'm a working mom full-time. So, I was just like shooting the lunchbox that I was really making for my kids in the morning. And then this became a trend. Tik Tok made it a challenge and everybody in the region started posting lunchbox. So, I was really sharing my story and one of

19:33 the comments that I always see on my videos is that people can relate to me. So, they they see themselves in me. They see, okay, I'm not into cakes, but I feel that when I watch video, you know, I feel if I spend 2 hours in the kitchen, I'll be able to make the same cake. [Music] life. Even if she acts like she [Music] liber Soy that she surpris. Oh, I know what you need. She just I know what she need

20:20 to keep on the side. Flash the lights is ever knuckle. [Music] How do we get paid for campaigns on Tik Tok one? I've mentioned that you can get paid on Tik Tok one, right? For application campaigns. However, for our normal standard campaign,

21:07 you would see a lot of brands talking to you and telling you, I want to pay you through rank transfer. And this is something that is right because you have two types of payments. You have on platform payment and then you have offline payment. So don't get discouraged if you see not all payment options are available. However, when you are doing an application, you will always be paid from the app. If it's an invitation campaign where a brand reaches out to you and you get the notification, it will show this payment is offline. The brand will contact you for the payment. So it's very important to pay attention to those details and make sure that you are protected. Who do we work with to on board creators

21:53 to Tik Tok one? So, Tik Tok one at the moment is available to a lot of creators, but it's not open for everyone. What do I mean by that? At the beginning, we were working with agencies only to get creators. As a start, we wanted someone to get us the right creators to make sure everything is going right, someone to manage it. Because at Tik Tok, we have a lot of certified partners that we get, train, uh, educate, and they help us run campaigns, give us feedback on our products, and they support us. And what's exciting is that we have one from our agency today, so that's about to talk to you in a few seconds. and we work with them to on board those creators. Okay? Because before we open

22:41 it to everyone, we wanted to give exclusivity to a few creators just to test out, get feedback about the product and then we can open it for everyone. It's not in general availability yet, but very soon in a couple of months it will be. Content you're going to have to do is going to be two forced. So, if all of a sudden, you know, you're going to see yourself saying, you know, my lovely followers, I just saw this part and it's amazing. Look at it. You sound like a billboard. You're just an act. That doesn't do much. Doesn't really move the needle. And your followers know, they really know you. They see all your content. They'll spot when you're fake, believe me. So, what do you do in this case? I'll tell you what we do as an agency to

23:28 try to bridge that gap. Okay, that's why we exist today. So try to bridge that gap. So when brands come to us and say, "We want creators to deliver our brand promise," we're like, "Look, if you want to do social media content on your or account, go and talk about your brand promise all you want. But if you want people to talk about you, then you need to think about something we call the influence price." That's how we educate brands. What is the influence price? Influence price is how people speak to each other about a brand. You're not going to go recommend a beauty product because they celebrate diversity. Oh, buy this eyeliner. They celebrate diversity. No. But if you actually bring your own story, how you use the product, how do

24:14 you apply it? And why do you genuinely love it, then say that the more it's actually a story, the more people are likely to believe you. And if it's a new product that you haven't used, and that happens a lot, try to love it. I know it's tempting to accept the money and you want the money, but try to, you know, really love the product. If you don't, refuse because if you really do that and your audience really knows, then you're you're going to get eventually more and more brands to work with you long term. I applied once for uh Tik Tok and for brands that they want to sell their inside Tik Tok.

24:59 They reached me outside of Tik Tok on WhatsApp sending me links asking me to go through this link and apply for some uh for something that I don't know what is it but it's suspicious. Yeah. Yes. So it's I am very very familiar with this case but many spam on Tik Tok. This is something by the way thank you for mentioning this. This is a very important point. We take brand and creator safety very highly. What's happening is that Tik Tok one is a global product right? Uh clients from all over the world can access you.

25:46 However, in first stages, we had instances where clients were not verified at the beginning. Okay. So, when we had those clients, they were reaching out. How even though there is no like verification required. So what happened is that there was a lot of um clients that have access from our old uh website which is Tik Tok creator marketplace and they migrated there even though they reached out and it might seem scammy. It's not actually a scam. It's an affiliate program run by that client. However, we do not encourage any client to send you suspicious links and

26:32 this is something we reported for it and we have raised this as a concern and we've already addressed this. So those type of clients that are not fully verified of course no client can get in without verification. When I say unverified is that the latest verification because we do have a lot of safety measures. So we raised this as a priority concern and we even spoke to the teams responsible for that client and we mentioned that this is this is a nogo. Okay, even if the links are not suspicious, they cannot reach out to you and send you this link. So this has been taken care of and whenever you have those instances, please report them directly on Tik Tok there. Tik Tok one,

27:20 Tik Tok in general because we care about your safety in general. After that, we're gonna have a Q&A session. Q&A session with no filters. You ask anything you want. Good. As if you post it anywhere. So, let's start first. Um, I'll be starting let me check here. So we're going to talk about mainly around five key things so that everybody has an idea about it. What is life gifts? So let me go back to this. What is Tik Tok live? A little bit about stats money so that you guys are aware what industry we are in. What is the potential we're getting in? intro about something probably you don't

28:06 know or some of you have heard about which is Tik Tok creator networks which is in other terms Tik Tok live agencies and you're going to be like what is the agency and that's the one of the key things we're going to talk about next is as a creator do I go live or do I open my agency or actually maybe do both merge them together that's another topic we're going to talk about and last how does the money works. So I open live, I get gifts. What's my share? What's Tik Tok share? What's the agency share? So hold with me till the end. It's not going to be long. We start first. What is Tik Tok live and what is what is it combined of? I'll give you a very simple example. I

28:54 worked for almost 7 years in Sony Sony broadcast, Sony Pictures. Maybe some of you are aware Sony cinema. So in my seven years I visited more than 200 production houses, cinemas, uh even big film productions as well. And one thing I've noticed the difference between this little screen and the major screens in the traditional broadcast or cinema or even our normal apps, there's no interaction. There's no immediate interaction. So let's say now short videos team might feel a little bit get angry on me but let's say you're posting a video what is the maximum thing that you can do for

29:40 that creator. So you like a creator you love them their story you love what they do or what is the maximum thing you can do not live nor comare comment share maximum you know, maximum I send them a DM that will forever stay stay there. So, this is usually the case. But as a creator, what can you do back? Thanks. Reply, repost, like, you know, this is the difference. More than thousands, if not millions of daily creators going live. So naturally

30:26 Tik Tok does not have the capacity to talk to these creators and the number keeps increasing. Not only talk to the creators, we can't guide the creators. We can't tell them don't do 1 2 3 avoid this or avoid that. So we need partners. And that's where the role of Tik Tok creative networks the agencies. So the agency is the bridge between us and the creator. And obviously the role of the agency we call them as the five C's. Number one is to train the creator, develop the creator. Why development is important? Because this is all new. Life is all new especially in our region. Like how do I go live? What do I say? This is something I was getting asked how do I do it? Second content

31:14 guidance. What do I do? What do I say? And quite the opposite of what people think life is the easiest entry. Because let me ask you a different question. So if you're looking for a job, which application you open? LinkedIn. If you're looking to maybe I would say order something online, which application you go to? Amazon. And if you're looking to maybe check some family news, Facebook. Facebook. If you're looking to check news of the world, the new generation. So this is it. But when you go on Tik Tok live or Tik Tok in general, it's for

31:59 entertainment. Yes, of course. There is some education and there's also some weird stuff we have like every platform. But that's a reality. But this is our society. This is us. These people are not aliens. They're one of us. So what I mean to say when you go on Tik Tok especially live you're going there to disconnect instantly I get 50% of it. So 50% goes to me and 50% goes to Tik Tok. Which stage we going to need those agency in the live in the live journey on which stage we going to need them? Very good question. I would say can be at any stage.

32:45 Check when do you need it but I have to be more transparent with you. The agency has multiple creators. So also let's have real expectations. Yes, they will talk to you every day but the agency also has limited capacity. They don't have 500 employees. So the best agent to use is yourself. But why do you need the agency? For many account issues where they will reach out to us, for many training that they might give you, competitions, they get you there. But the person who will develop them themselves the most is the creator. Generally speaking, no one will develop you more than yourself. How to develop yourself? Go live. Go live. Finish the life. Watch your life. How can I make it better? I I asked once once creator and

33:32 I told him how did you how did you grow? what was your journey? And he shared a very nice thing. He said, Anton, I used to watch the lives whether I'm making money or not making money. I would watch my live and see where people interacted cuz they will get the data automatically where people interacted. Why was I quiet? When I was quiet, people left the room. But when I was putting a song and action, right, people stayed in the room. I got gifts at that. Ah, I opened live at 5:00 p.m. No one was there. But when I opened live at 7, they were there. But my main followers were at 10. So that's why generally speaking and honestly, there's no formula. If there was a formula, I told you I would have gone live. So it depends from journey from one

34:17 creator to another pen. [Music] I have a pen also [Music] mug. [Music] I am back from day four and I think I owe you guys a little bit of an update. Yesterday actually went really well. I know like things started really rocky and they were really rocky for some time

35:03 but once I got to school guys like people really cheered me up. Sh. It has just been getting more and more profound more and more powerful. I learned so much today in terms of money making money on Tik Tok. Guys, if you are a creator in South Africa, huge things are coming. I actually need to make a Tik Tok about this. Huge things are coming. You guys cannot afford to relax. Okay, you need to be creating your content. They have huge plans that are going to put money in our pockets. So, please don't give up on your content creator journey because Tik Tok has some amazing things coming. I am going to sleep in about maybe 2 hours. It's 11:00 p.m. tomorrow. I have school again. I need to edit quite a few videos because they have a challenge where you can win some

35:49 money. They're giving away 15,000 rand to the winning group. So, I just want to do my contributions for my group. There is a day two challenge. So, they put us in groups of five people. Thank God I have really nice people in my group. We're really working and trying our best to work together to win this. Me and the other girl were like, "We want to go shopping, so we want to win this $15,000." [Music] $15,000. I think that's a quarter of a million. I think $15,000. Guys, come on. I want to go shopping. Okay. So, me and her are like, "Let's win this money." and the rest of my team as well. They're amazing. So, if you post individual videos as well, they contribute to the total um like ranking, you know. So, I just I want to push out videos. Also, my

36:35 account is large enough that I have the privilege of scheduling my content. So, I think I'm also going to do that, schedule some content as well. Um but yeah, I'm just really, really, really enjoying class. Like, yes, I'm exhausted. And today was quite a mess because in my group we said we're going to film a script for the first challenge. They give you a challenge after class. So now we're on the second challenge. Monday and Tuesday there was no group challenge. Wednesday we had our first one and then today was a second one. For our first challenge we had a script and I was dressing up according to that. I go into the group chat and now the script is going another way. Then I decided to wear this cuz I was also not really comfortable in the clothes I was wearing initially. Um so then I decided to wear this. So that had me a bit messed up just before I went to

37:22 class. But once I got there, guys, it is so nice. It is nice to be around creators. These people are positive. The only thing that has been irritating me is people who talk when someone is on stage. All of us paid. This is not free. All of us paid to join this program. Okay? We're very fortunate to be part of the 80 people. There are many people who didn't even know about this program who would love to be in our position. were getting like access to these brands and these companies asking any questions questions that I've always wondered what guys would say why are we not getting paid as South Africans like how can I change my account to get paid cuz other people are getting paid I'm not getting paid cuz my South African account is South African and some people have like American accounts but they're in South Africa so they're getting paid that's my understanding so so many things that

38:08 I've always wondered about that I didn't have answers to I got the answers in person personally ally for my situation, you know, which is how I'm telling you guys that if you're in South Africa, prepare. These people have big plans for us that are going to put money in our pockets. So, I'm really really excited for the awards ceremony which is on Saturday. I actually need to try on my outfit and see if it fits cuz I got some new dresses from Bella Barnett. Oh, there's so much going on in my head. Yo, there's so much I have to do. But yeah, I will probably sleep. Yesterday I slept at 5:00 a.m. Today hopefully I can be in bed by 300 a.m. Let's hope for the best. It is the last and final day at Creator HQ day 5. Tomorrow is going to be our

38:54 like awards ceremony. So I'm looking forward to that and yeah got a lot of work to do. Hopefully we win that prize. content has one heart with their relatable humor, positive energy, and they built a loyal community on Tik Tok that's super hard to scroll past. Welcome everyone here with us today. Thank you. Are we sitting or standing? We're sitting. Okay. Also joining us today is Mr. Taster. Please welcome on stage. Woo! [Applause] Dubai. He's taking his audience on very unique journeys across the

39:40 world, blending food reviews with storytelling, cultural insights, and a signature style that's instantly recognizable on Tik Tok. Guys, it's a pleasure having you with us. I quickly left Clask early to get the pics. I've been wanting to try this, so finally now I have it. And we'll give it a shot. see how it is. And I'm so excited. So now we have two creators that are talking inside right now at the creator HQ. And yeah, this is our last day. No, the thing is people think it's us. Like we get to decide, oh, I want to verify this person. I like them. It's really not like this. We have a whole committee that looks at every single detail of like you'll find them on the app like if you're publish, if you're so

40:26 on. So, it's not one person that's picking and like if we can't verify you, it's because we don't want to. It's generally because there's a committee that's looking at it and they're like, "Oh, this person needs a bit more exposure to be verified or more stories about them." At the end of the day, verification really shouldn't be something that you put value on. Like I remember recently we found the page of I think it was Anathway or something like it wasn't even verified and then later on but like she grew without it. It's it's not that relevant to have a verification unless you're like a doctor or something. Otherwise, if your content is doing well, then it's doing well. Verification is just like, okay, this is you. And a lot of people come to me and they're like, I want to verify my account because other people are stealing my content. I would take it as a compliment first of

41:12 all. It's like great, but also um for us, we we try to take down these copycat accounts. like we will know that your video is original the original video because we know that you posted it before that other person. So we'll do our best to protect in that sense verification is difficult because of um the guidelines but if you go on support and check their like the verification requirements if you meet them you can try and just keep applying until you get it but it's not something that we have the option to apply. It's on the website. It's It's like It's on not on the app. If you go on the website like on your desktop, you can apply for it. It's available for everyone. Yeah. By the way, if you need any like if you have any details or any questions regarding verification,

42:00 everything, monetization, even go to creator academy guys. It's really like a education hub that includes every single detail that you guys have and you can actually search your question in the creator academy and it will redirect you to the right article and this is where you will know what are the requirements for verification. We have a translator in Zoe languages. It just launched in Arabic as well. Like we try what's the fastest way to get support in case we face any problems with the app. Honestly, the fastest way is to go through the app because based on the problem that you have and the one you select on the app, it's going to direct you to the right team. If you ask a person like one of us, even if you come

42:45 to us and tell us, I have this problem, we're going to have to go back to that team as well. So the fastest way to go directly to them. But keep in mind the volume like so many people. We're mentioning 66,000 videos are posted every minute on Tik Tok. So you can imagine the volume of requests that we get as well on a daily basis. So it it might take up to 48 hours, but otherwise that's your best case to submit any appeal that you have. So today's challenge [Music] or number of videos. Uh what I heard is that you produced more than 250 videos in that in this five in those five days.

43:32 Thank you uh Ali Ahmedi for being such a great host and providing great team glo Woo! [Music] Me again. [Music] Can you hold me close? [Music]

44:30 Heat. Heat. [Music] you go away [Music] cuz I believe I believe you know just what to do now we can Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music]

45:33 Heat. Heat. [Music] I am back from our last day at Creator HQ, guys. I got my certificate. Thank you so much to the Tik Tok team and also Creator HQ. I had an amazing amazing time and congratulations to the team that won. They did such an amazing job, guys. I had a great time. I'm extremely extremely extremely exhausted. I want to see if I can buy a new suitcase online. I have some winter coats that I'd really like to take to South Africa. Also, I

46:19 want to host a wig sale. So, yeah, I've got some stuff to do. I need to pack up and sort out things. So, by the time you guys see this, I might have the wig sale live already. Yeah, I'm just waiting on a few things to be finalized and then I really want to have a wig sale, guys. I have so many wigs. I'm sure in this vlog you guys saw me change my hair and those are not even all the wigs I have. I have wigs that are brand new. The lace is not even cut and they've been brand new for like a year or two and I haven't been wearing them. So, I want to stop hoarding clothes. I want to stop hoarding shoes, bags. I want to just stop hoarding. This week, that's when I saw that I really have a nice selection of bags cuz I was able to go into my wardrobe and pick a bag for every day that matches my outfit. I don't think I

47:06 need a lot of items. I think I need the right items, you know? So, I want to have this wig sale and make sure that I'm only keeping the wigs that I wear like on a regular regular regular basis. Guys, I'm sorry if my voice is like nearly gone. I was clapping and shouting for the musicians that were at the event today. I absolutely love supporting musicians. Even if it's not like the type of music I listen to, but it takes a lot of guts to stand in front of a crowd of people, especially people who may not know who you are and perform. I think it's important to acknowledge um people when they do that. If anyone is watching this who went to the boot camp with me, thank you so much, guys. People are so nice. People are so nice. I had a

47:53 really, really, really good time. And hopefully they will have our little group chat as well. And I think opportunities like this when they come your way, you have to take full advantage of them. And I cannot wait to apply everything that I have learned. Even with my lighting, see, even with my lighting, I know the things I need to fix. Um, just to become better, you know, always keep learning, always trying to improve and always trying to keep updated with the latest stuff in terms of each platform. Guys, I was so overdressed today. I'm wearing a letter a buya cannot tell you guys where it's from because I don't recommend the company. I was not happy with their customer service. Um so unfortunately everyone who's been asking me where is it from. I just don't want to recommend

48:39 a place that I wasn't happy with to someone else. Even the quality of that buy is not good. Fortunately for me, I'm a fashion designer. So the part that broke, I was able to fix it. But yeah, do not recommend this company. So I don't want to recommend it. So please don't leave a comment saying where is your abaya from because I don't want you to have the experience that I had. I am extremely exhausted. So, thank you guys so much for watching and I will see you guys next
