00 Hello and welcome to Recap It. In a dying Midwestern town, Friendo the Clown, once a beloved icon, returns as a chilling nightmare. Let the movie begin. In 1991, in the small town of Kettle Springs, Missouri, a group of teenagers gather around a campfire near the abandoned Bay Pen corn syrup factory. Some are drinking, others are singing, and a blonde girl is playing with a toy music box shaped like the Bay Pen Factory. She catches her boyfriend's eye and silently invites him to follow her into the nearby cornfield for a private moment. As they walk deeper into the tall cornstalks, the girl begins to undress, moving further away until the boy struggles to keep track of her. When he calls out, she doesn't answer.
46 Jessica. While searching, he notices an odd footprint in the soil. Suddenly, she reappears. Panicked, the boy tries to flee, but falls. Fast forward to the present day. A father named Glenn and his daughter Quinn are driving to Kettle Springs. Glenn, a doctor, listens to an 80s rap song on the radio, much to Quinn's annoyance, who asks him to turn it off. Upon arriving at their new home, the family quickly realizes there is no cell phone reception inside. The following morning, after breakfast, Quinn prepares for her first day at the new school. Glenn offers to drive her, but she
32 firmly declines, asserting that at 17, she can manage on her own. When she opens the door, she is startled to find a boy standing there. He introduces himself as Rust, her neighbor. Glenn then appears and casually asks if Rust is there to accompany Quinn to school. Rust confirms and the two head off together. At school, Quinn enters a classroom where the teacher Vern is informing students about an upcoming test scheduled for Monday. As he begins his lesson, the class discovers a prank. Vern's face has been pasted onto a bodybuilder poster, causing laughter. In response, Vern decides to administer the test immediately as a form of punishment. However, when he distributes
17 the test papers, another prank is revealed. His dating profile photo has been placed on the sheets instead of the test. Later, Quinn befriends a student named Cole and his friends, which includes Janet, Ronnie, Tucker, Matt, and others. Cole shares some homemade videos with Quinn featuring Tucker and Matt dressed up as a character named Friendo. That evening, Quinn and her father visit a local diner. Trudy, the waitress, takes their order. As they wait, the town's Sheriff Dunn arrives and recognizes Glenn as the new doctor. He strikes up a conversation with them. Soon after, Quinn's classmates, including Cole, come in. Sheriff Dunn warns Quinn to stay away from these kids, blaming them for a recent fire that destroyed the syrup factory. While Dunn sits and talks with Glenn, Quinn leaves their table to join her new
03 friends, who are plotting to steal alcohol from a nearby store. At the store, Matt and Tucker stage a fake fight to divert the attention of the shopkeeper, allowing the rest of the group to sneak some bottles from the fridge and quickly make their escape. That evening, the group gathers to celebrate with the stolen beer, enjoying each other's company and sharing joyful moments. Matt steps away to pee, and Quinn brings up the topic of the burnt Bay Pin factory. Cole awkwardly explains that they had been filming a video inside the factory when they got trapped. During their attempt to escape, a fire broke out due to faulty wiring, and the town's folk now suspect that they were responsible for starting the blaze. Meanwhile, while Matt is in the restroom,
58 when the attacker lunges at Quinn, she panics and flees, but the asalent removes the mask, revealing Tucker in friendo costume. pulling a prank and recording the moment. The others leave, but Cole and Quinn remain behind. Quinn opens up about her mother's death from an overdose, and Cole shares the loss of his sister. This heartfelt exchange brings them closer. Later, Cole drives Quinn home. However, her father catches them and angrily warns Cole to stay away from his daughter. Quinn retreats to her room and watches the prank video from the party. While viewing, she notices a second real friendo figure in one of the frames. Worried, she sends a screenshot to Tucker, who quickly spots it, too. Shortly after, he receives a notification from his doorbell camera showing the real friendo lurking
44 outside. Assuming it's another prank by his friends, Tucker grabs a Nerf gun and heads out to confront the mysterious visitor. As he searches the house, he spots fragments of broken plastic scattered across the floor. Curious, he opens a closet and discovers the Bay Pin music box hidden inside. He tosses it back in and slams the door shut. Suddenly, Friendo appears behind him and slashes his throat with a sickle. The scene shifts to the town's Founders Day festival where Arthur Hill, the mayor and Cole's father, addresses the crowd. Cole and Quinn arrive just in time to see a parade featuring a massive clown float making its way down the street. Among the performers is a juggler wearing a friendo mask,
29 skillfully riding a unicycle and juggling flaming torches. However, one of the fiery objects slips from his grasp and lands on the clown float, setting it ablaze and destroys it. Furious, Arthur demands to know who caused the disaster. Sheriff Dunn soon appears, accusing the group of ruining the festivities. He arrests them all and throws them in jail. While they're locked up, an elderly man sternly warns them to stay away from Friendo. insisting that messing with it will lead to their doom. Matt is in his garage working out when he discovers another Bay Pin music box. Assuming it's a prank from his friends, he continues exercising.
14 Suddenly, Friendo bursts in, seizing the barbell and brutally decapitating him. Later, Quinn and her friends are released from jail by Glenn. That night, while her father sleeps, Quinn stealthily leaves with Cole. They head to the Bay Pen Factory where a party is underway and reunite with their friends. After sharing a drink, Quinn and Cole dance, but tensions rise, leading Quinn to take Cole into a nearby shed where they argue. Frustrated, she storms out and encounters Janet and Ronnie, who jokingly mentions that Cole turns everyone down, triggering a fight. Suddenly, a scream rises from the cornfield and their friend Ginger
01 stumbles out, collapsing with a crossbow bolt in her back. Initially, the group thinks it's another prank by Tucker and Matt. But their fears turn to horror when Friendo throws Matt's severed head adorned with a clown mask, confirming the grim reality of their deaths. Real danger emerges as Frendo appears from the cornfield, firing crossbow bolts at the girls. They dash to the barn where Rust quickly shoots at Friendo, injuring him. Just as he attempts to unmask the killer, multiple friendos emerge from the cornfield, armed and ready. That's a lot of friendos.
47 [Music] When Friendo tries to attack Quinn, Cole intervenes, knocking him down, and they flee to hide in the shed. Glenn realizes Quinn is not home and begins searching for her. Meanwhile, Janet tries to call 911 from the shed, but finds there is no signal. As Friendo attempts to break in, you [ __ ] the group discovers a hole inside the shed. They escape through it while Russ stays behind to detonate a makeshift bomb to stop Friendo. While searching for Quinn, Glenn notices
33 his clinic door is broken and enters only to be ambushed by a friendo. He drags him to the operating room where another injured friendo lies on a bed. The friendo demands Glenn operate to save its companion, threatening his daughter's life if he refuses. With no other choice, Glenn begins the surgery. The group emerges from the hole just as the shed explodes, killing several friendos. Cole wants to go back for Rust, but Quinn persuades him to seek help at Tillerson's house. They cross the cornfield and reach the main road where they signal a car. Sheriff Dunn stops and upon seeing Cole armed, arrests him despite the others
18 attempts to explain, leaving the three girls behind on the road. Quinn is puzzled why Sheriff Dunn arrested only Cole when they were all together. But the other two girls are too upset to dwell on it. They head to Tillerson's house, but are once again surrounded by friendos. They flee into the cornfield and try to hide.
05 Quinn quickly pulls the group away, but tragically Quinn and Janet reach Tillerson's house where they find another friendo slumped in a chair. Janet checks and believes he is dead. Suddenly, a rotary phone rings upstairs, but they don't know how to use it. Quinn spots a bulletin board filled with news clippings about Ban's closure and photos of teenagers, leading her to realize they are trapped. Then rush downstairs. Oh [ __ ] Quinn pulls the pitchfork free and uses
50 it to kill the friendo. Both Janet and the friendo die, but Quinn does not unmask the attacker. Meanwhile, Glenn quietly removes life support from the injured friendo. He pretends his friend is dying and calls for help from the other friendo with a defibrillator. Taking advantage of the distraction, Glenn stabs the friendo in the neck, killing him, and sets off to find Quinn. Meanwhile, Quinn struggles to start Tillerson's truck, but it won't budge. Suddenly, several friendos surround the vehicle and forcibly pull her out. They take her to the abandoned Bay Pin factory. When she regains consciousness, she demands they remove their masks. To her surprise, the group reveals themselves as Sheriff Dunn, teacher Vern, shop owner Otis, and waitress Trudy. Quinn questions their motives, and then the mayor arrives. It's
37 revealed that he is the mastermind behind the Friendos and has been collaborating with them. When Quinn inquires about Cole, the mayor coldly states he has disowned his son. He explains their actions stem from his belief that Kettle Springs was once a town of respect and strong values. But the current generation of teenagers has lost that respect, disregarding traditions and endangering the town's future. Using his authority as mayor, he targets the youth he holds responsible for the town's decline. After the mayor exposes Cole, who is still alive but suspended by a rope, he makes it clear that he doesn't believe Cole is his son and holds him responsible for his daughter's fate. He isn't my son. Not since he killed his own sister. He then commands the sheriff to execute Quinn.
24 As the sheriff is about to carry out the order, Glenn bursts onto the scene. Okay. Right. Glenn urges Quinn to escape. So, she darts into a nearby room filled with friendo costumes. She puts on one of the costumes to hide. As the sheriff searches for her, Quinn removes her mask and uses a stun baton to fatally shock him. Meanwhile, the mayor seizes Glenn's car to make his getaway, abandoning Cole. At that moment, Rust appears and shoots the
10 rope holding Cole, freeing him. Quinn soon reunites with her father, and together with Rust and Cole, they rush outside. They find an old car, and while Quinn struggles to start it, Glenn instructs her on how to get it running. As they prepare to leave, they spot Vern wielding a chainsaw. Glenn encourages Quinn to drive straight at him, and she does. A year later, Glenn is campaigning for mayor. While Quinn is about to leave for college, Cole and Rust come to see her off. As Quinn drives away, she discovers a Bay Pen music box in the back seat. She tosses it out the window and continues on her way to college. Thank you for watching and see you next time.
