00 Improve your sleep, recover better, perform better, and without paying subscription fees. This is the Amazfit Helio Strap and UP may have a serious problem. In this video I bring you the full review of the new Amazfit bracelet. Let's take a look at what's included in the box, how to set it up, all the features it offers, and my experience after several days of using it. And to give you some real context, I'm going to compare it to my Xiaomi Mi Watch. We'll see if it's worth it if you already have a smartwatch, and we'll see if it's capable of offering us the same as the benchmark bracelet of this type, the popular Cup.
47 And that's everything that comes in the box: the bracelet, the magnetic base for charging it, and the manual. The charging base works magnetically using two pins and we need to power it via USBC which is not included. As you can see, it's as minimal as the bracelet itself, which has neither a screen nor buttons. In fact, it weighs almost nothing. And at first glance, the truth is that it looks quite comfortable. It has a small velcro strap to adjust it and it feels quite comfortable and secure on the arm. Of course, I don't know what you think, but it seems to me like a small medical device, which it obviously isn't, and it might attract attention in everyday environments where, for example, a smartwatch wouldn't. I'm not complaining either because in the end it serves what it is used for,
33 monitoring health metrics, so it is obviously oriented towards sports and not disturbing you while you exercise or sleep. This already tells us something important because it is not designed to see notifications or the time. It is intended only to measure your body. In fact, the bracelet itself doesn't tell us much, and we need a phone to see the data it offers. So let's set it up quickly, which is very easy and is done through the CEP app, which as you can see I already have installed, available for both Android and iOS, and you have to register, which I'll do in a second. You would have already registered a new account and now it asks us for a series of parameters in order to calculate all our health statistics. The first, sex, in this case male, date of birth and finally height and weight, which in this case are 178 cm and
22 69 kilo. keep. Ready. Over here, if you use Google Health, you could connect it. Since I'm not doing it right now , I'm going to leave it for later. And since CP is the general application that Amazfit has for all its devices, you would have to choose the one you want to configure here. In this case it is the bracelet. And we must go to the third section. The bracelet does not have a screen. We use OK and give location permission. It will ask us to charge the bracelet to be able to pair it. So we simply grab the base here and, using any USB-C charger, we take off the bracelet if you have it on and charge it, making sure the pins make a good connection. There it is. Vibrate. And once connected, click next. Detects that we are connecting to the Lafit Helios Trap.
09 We click on pair and via Bluetooth it would be paired and we would be ready to work. The first thing we find in the application is a brief explanation of all its sections and especially the Biocherg measure that they have invented to determine how much energy we have at that moment and that takes into account sleep data, heart rate, and all those things. We use ready and it directly sends us to update. So let's do that. And while it's being updated, I wanted to let you know that this Biocharge feature is actually quite similar to the energy metric my Xiaomi gives me. And as you can see, it recharges throughout the night and I start the day at more or less 100% and then gradually lower it as I do activities and the watch detects that I'm getting tired. As you can see, it
55 's a pretty big update because it's a product they've just released and they're currently polishing it. And in principle, by the time this update is complete, it would already be configured, so we could install it and it would start tracking all the health metrics. And also, since I just received the bracelet and haven't been able to try it on yet, I'm going to spend a few days doing so and when I get back I'll tell you all about it. It's been almost a week since I started using it, and I honestly knew it was good, but it has pleasantly surprised me, mainly because of the app, which we'll look at in more depth now, but also because of its convenience. The bracelet hasn't caused any friction, although since I wear it quite tight, the shape of the sensor does leave a mark. Although speaking of the bracelet and its physical appearance, I must also warn that, as I mentioned before, several people have
40 asked me about it, since they didn't know what it was about and I had to explain it to them a little. It's not a big dilemma either, but hey, you should know that it draws attention if it's not used in sports environments. And now, moving on to more relevant things, the application is superb. Let's take a look at it little by little, and I'll tell you about the most important things I've seen during this time, since it's huge, has tons of data, and includes a ton of statistics, graphs, reports, and everything. As we said in the configuration, the application is called CEP. When you open it, you'll find a main screen with the main features. But first, let's go to the settings because you should know that you can configure all the data collected by the application so that if you do n't want any of it, for example, sleep, you can simply deactivate it. This screen also shows the battery, which, as you can see, has
26 40% remaining and was charged just 6 days ago, which means that the 10 days promised in principle could indeed be achieved. And apart from all this, we have settings like motion detection, alarms and more. I want to put special emphasis on motion detection, since I currently have it disabled for one reason I 'll tell you about later, and that is that if you have it enabled and then manually record an activity, it will be duplicated, and this poses a problem because if we then export this data to Strava or, for example, the iPhone's health app , it will also be duplicated. In fact, I recommend keeping it off and, if you want to record an activity, doing it manually, mainly because the automatic detection mode doesn't detect what activity you're doing. So, if you're going to go by bike, then it's going to be a generic activity. And before
12 looking at the main screen, I wanted to comment on another relevant thing regarding third-party applications. And if we go to our profile here, well, apart from being able to configure cool things like, for example, heart rate zones, which if you're a runner or something like that, it's now very fashionable to train in zone two and you can set what your heart rate is in each zone. It can also be connected to other apps such as Strava and the iPhone health app , so, for example, I'm now uploading all my steps, calories, sleep log, and workouts to the iPhone app. Well, if you like it and it's the one you use but you don't have an Apple Watch, then maybe it could be useful for you too. In fact, by the way, here's a workout that I don't quite know why it's been duplicated in the health app. It's a little strange too, but well, I haven't had much of a
57 problem with this one. And now, let's move on to the main screen, where we find the metrics they consider essential: sleep, biochurch, and effort, which we'll look at a little later. But we also find such curious things as a record of the meals we make every day, which uses artificial intelligence to record them simply with a photo. That is, by taking a photo of what you 're eating, it calculates the quantities and gives you a report with the macronutrients, calories, and everything. Honestly, it's very good, and obviously, it can fail, but I was impressed because it doesn't just stop there; it also includes graphs of the calories we eat and burn throughout the week, as well as the distribution of nutrients, and it generates a very complete report, which I think could be useful for many people who want to measure what they eat. If we continue moving forward, we find
44 a list of all the parameters that the bracelet measures, which in truth is quite endless if we have to stop one by one, but you should know that if we click on any of them, well, generally we have not only daily, weekly, monthly, even annual graphs, but the application also explains to us what that metric is about, so that if there is something you do not quite understand, you simply have to scroll down and there it will explain it to you. This section is also very good. The truth is that it has many things that, for example, my watch doesn't have, such as the risk of sleep apnea or even skin temperature, which now that we're in summer, I can't quite believe it's only 0.1g more, but oh well. If we continue scrolling down, we find the heart health section, which shows our current heart rate . And if we click on it, we see
31 other metrics also related to our heart. And here I must tell you that I am surprised that, for example, right now I have 84 beats per minute, because normally my watch registers much lower beats. In fact, later we'll compare how the bracelet and my watch record a workout. I'll also show you the heart rate they recorded overnight so you can see the differences there may be, which I can tell you in advance seem a little strange to me on the bracelet. And well, if we keep going down, we also find other metrics such as steps, calories, stress, and well, in short, a lot of things, but I'm not going to stop to explain much more. Let's move on to the Biocharge section that we have at the top of the main screen and that we have also more or less discussed during this video and it is simply a metric that measures more or less how rested
17 our body is based on our heart rate and all of this and generally it will simply increase during the night and decrease during the day depending on the level of activity that we are doing. Well, it's just a guideline, but I don't really know how useful it is for you because, well, if you're tired, you notice it. So let's move on to sleep logging, which is honestly pretty cool. It has the typical function of controlling both the deep sleep phase, the REM phase, and all of this, and it shows us a small graph that, in fact, when you click on it, it enlarges and can be viewed horizontally. And as you can see, there are some pretty strange things because, man, call me crazy, but I think at 3 in the morning I wasn't running and I did n't have a heart rate of 137. I would be very surprised. Come on, for example, my watch tells me that during the night I usually
03 have less than 50 even. And I don't know, it's not just a one-day thing, because it's happened to me on several days. I don't know if it's because it gets loose during the night or because it's on my right wrist. I have no idea, so if you have any, please comment, because it could be just my bracelet that's not working properly. And it 's even stranger because, for example, during training, both the bracelet and the watch match quite well. In this case, you are seeing on the left mobile what the watch collects and on the right what the bracelet collects. And as you can see, it has quite similar data. The graphs are very similar, if not almost identical, and both the average and maximum heart rate are also very similar. In fact, the training zones are also very similar. I don't know, it seems very strange to me that at night it tells me that my resting heart rate is 80. In fact, as you can see
50 here, my average heart rate recorded by the watch was 65 compared to 82 on the bracelet, which seems very strange to me. And the same goes for the minimum and maximum heart rate, which also differ quite a bit. It gives me much higher values. But leaving this topic behind and continuing with the next screen, the effort screen, which, well, in the end is nothing more than a metric of what the application understands that we can put in effort today due to our rest . Basically, it recommends a bit of activity that we should do, which as you can see, in my case it tells me to do low today and then it gives me a heart rate range and a duration that I honestly think is quite short, so I'll most likely do something more. And well, finishing with the main screen and moving on to the second, the exercise screen, it not only has
35 the typical training log that shows all the exercises we've done, and if we access any of them, we see all the data that has been collected. By the way, since we 're talking about recording your workouts, the bracelet itself doesn't have GPS, so it depends on having your mobile phone with you to measure, for example, if you go out for a run, the distance, speed, pace, and all of that. So if you want that data, you'll have to bring your phone with you. We also find other metrics related to sports performance, such as V2 Max, a guideline value for training load, which for those of us who are not professionals and who more or less plan our training, I think could be useful, since for example here, as you can see, these workouts that I was doing have kept me within the optimal range, but quite far to the left, which means that I can most likely do more. In fact, as you can see,
22 right now I have zero recovery time and this is because it's been two days since I did my last workout and right now I'd be as good as new. Then we have the topic of the activities that we mentioned can be started with the mobile phone and a monthly report, plus statistics on how the training has gone during that month, which includes all the training we have done, distances, and so on. Also, I don't know about you, but I like anything that has to do with statistics and this is great for keeping track of your training. For the most competitive, it even has the records we've made, and if we go out and enter the achievement prediction option , it even gives us an approximation of how long it would take us, in this case, to run a distance like a marathon. For me, it gives a time that I think I would do in less, honestly, but since I haven't recorded many workouts, it's not that
07 accurate. And well, everything we've seen so far can be done without a subscription. You should know that there 's also the option of subscribing to a product to pay for something. And in this case, they are sleep reports, and I can't tell you how detailed they will be, but I can tell you that the application itself already gives you a ton of details about your sleep and that honestly, even down here, you have the option to give either a weekly or monthly report and I don't know if it's because right now I have the free CP Aura installed, but well, as you can see, there are more graphics because in the end, this entire application is about graphics. Come on, I personally wouldn't pay for this subscription if it was just about this. And what about GUP, which we've said is the benchmark bracelet for this type of device? Are you offering Mafit the same thing for less? Well,
53 not really. GOP wristbands, depending on the model, offer significantly more metrics and a deeper focus on performance and recovery analysis. But the key difference is in the intelligent feedback. In the [ __ ] app, you can answer daily questions, and based on your answers and the physiological data tracked by the bracelet, the app gives you personalized recommendations about sleep, exercise, recovery, and habits. This is something I've missed a bit in Mafit, which for now offers data, but without much context or user interaction. Still, it's important to note that this is still software and could be added in future updates. Come on,
39 Mafit could easily be at the same level. And of course, even though Cup is great and has all the features in the world, its prices seem exorbitant to me. If we go to their website, we see that they have three versions, all three of which are subscriptions. And if you look closely, the first part is €183 per year, the second is €243, and the last is €366, which is literally €1 per day. I don't know, I think that no matter how many extra features they have, I wouldn't be willing to pay that much when this one, which simply costs 99 and that's it, gives you enough tools to eat well, rest well, and do good workouts. So, I don't know, let me know what you think in the comments, but honestly, I'm sticking with the Maid. And if you have a smartwatch, is it
24 worth it? Well, since it all depends, in the end the functions are quite similar, but a smartwatch gives you many more than the bracelet doesn't tell the time itself, but if you're really interested in recovery, then in the end this bracelet gives you a lot of more focused and more constant information, so to speak. Also, since it is a device that only has the function of providing these metrics, I want to believe that it does it much better than other smartwatches, which by the way, I haven't said it, but it is designed to be worn on the wrist, which makes me a little angry, since it is known that these types of heart rate sensors work much better on the arm, wearing them with a bracelet, because there is much more blood flow and fewer tendons to interfere. So, I don't
10 know if they'll release a larger band so it can be worn comfortably on the arm or if there's already one on AliExpress, but it would certainly improve the data I don't know. So, I digress a bit, do I buy it or not? Well, I would tell you that if you always wear a smartwatch, no, don't buy it, your watch probably does something very similar, but if you're not a watch person and you liked the functions it has, then yes, obviously. By the way, you have the link to buy it in the description. As a final conclusion, I will say that the Mafit Helio Strap is a very interesting proposal that is not for everyone, but if you want to understand your body a little better, try to improve your recovery and your sleep without paying more, without subscriptions or complications, it
56 is difficult to find something better for €99, a perfect replacement for GUP and it will take over the entire market. Well, not at the moment, but for many people, I tell you, it will be more than enough. I repeat, I'm a pain, but if you liked it, you have the link in the description and in the pinned comment. And if you have any questions, leave them in a comment and I'll answer them.
