Introduction

The speaker introduces the video's focus on providing guidance to beginners preparing for PSC exams. She addresses common doubts about study methods, study hours, and revision techniques based on comments she has received. The speaker aims to share her learning journey and the methods she developed as a beginner.

Early Struggles with Coaching

The speaker recounts her initial experience with PSC coaching, admitting she joined without basic knowledge. She notes that the coaching wasn't effective for a long time, around five to six months, particularly due to disruptions caused by Covid and lockdowns. She describes attending classes, taking notes, but not putting in any personal study effort, which she realized was a significant struggle.

Realization and Shift to Self-Study

The speaker describes her realization that PSC preparation was more extensive than initially thought. Despite attending coaching, she felt the quality wasn't up to par. She began studying independently when the prelims system was introduced, motivated by friends and a growing understanding that her previous approach was inadequate.

Developing Effective Study Methods

The speaker emphasizes the importance of understanding one's own study habits and preferences through self-study. She highlights that everyone learns and remembers differently, and it's crucial to find personalized methods. For example, she acknowledges that she needs repeated revisions to retain information. She also discusses the benefits of coaching for those who struggle with self-study, recommending good online and offline centers to build a strong base.

Note-Taking and Revision Techniques

The speaker shares her note-taking strategies, particularly for confusing facts and years. She suggests writing down incidents by year in a book to aid memory. She also recommends using sticky notes for quick reminders and placing them in visible areas. Regular revision of these notes and books helps reinforce memory and reduce effort. She always carries a revision book to exams.

Utilizing Available Resources

The speaker shares examples of notes she made when she started studying, emphasizing the importance of consistent note-taking across various topics. She mentions using free classes from educators like Mansoor Ali on platforms like Unacademy. She also suggests leveraging various sources like YouTube for classes and Telegram channels for polls and learning. She stresses that even free resources can be valuable if used effectively with personal note-taking.

Importance of Syllabus and Textbooks

The speaker underscores the need for a clear understanding of the syllabus to identify key areas and current trends in PSC exams. She shares her initial approach of collecting and studying textbooks from classes 5 to 10, underlining important points and preparing notes. While acknowledging the availability of SCRT books, she suggests that collecting textbooks is a viable alternative for those who prefer it.

Maths Preparation and Confidence Building

The speaker shares that consistent practice and repeated solving of question papers helped her improve and gain confidence in Maths. She mentions Jerin Sir's YouTube channel ("Drink Guru") as a valuable resource for Maths preparation. She also briefly mentions a subscription she took for LDC at Sailam, noting that while the classes were good, she couldn't follow them correctly.

Significance of Current Affairs

The speaker emphasizes the critical role of current affairs in PSC exams, attributing her success in the Company Board LGS exam to her strong preparation in this area. With PSC allocating 20 marks to current affairs, she advises using books, classes, PDFs, Telegram channels, and polls to prepare thoroughly. She shows her old current affairs books from 2020 and 2021, stressing the importance of studying the material rather than just compiling it.

Conclusion

The speaker concludes by summarizing that the video shared her study methods and experiences, hoping it will be helpful to viewers.

0:00 Hi friends, welcome to my YouTube channel. So, as you can see in this video, today's video is important but also for beginners . Because when I saw and read some of the comments, I felt that many people had doubts about how to study, how many hours to study, and how much to revise what they had learned. When I saw all those comments, I realized that many beginners were watching these videos. So, I thought I'd make a short video about how I learned my method as a beginner and how I started learning it . So, in which of the previous videos have I mentioned my studies? I am someone who went to coaching as I said before. That is, I went to PSC at a time when I didn't even know the ABCs of coaching. But if you ask me if I got it as a coaching, I can

0:48 say that I didn't get it for a long time because I think it was about five or six months. I first started going to coaching during that Covid time. I got classes for a few days and then I didn't get classes because of Covid and the lockdown and things. But like I said, I didn't study anything. I just went to class, listened to some classes, wrote notes and went back. I didn't put in any effort for it, like a percentage. I didn't study anything. I was just like that. It was a big struggle. Then when I went to PSC, I thought, "Oh, I have so much to learn. Even though I've been coming to PSC for many years, Even though people see them, they are always negative and I didn't have much idea about how much there is to study in PSC. To be honest, I first saw the question papers like this. When we downloaded them, we got

1:36 some answers and got them. It was a great joy for us. How did it feel for me? Whether it was from the science side or from the other GK parts, we just put them there and did coaching. When I saw the question paper, I thought, "Well, let's study now, it's important. It's something that we didn't study for PSC at all." What I'm saying is, when I think about it, we have to get a 10 mark without studying. It's a big deal for us because the questions from the base we studied up to 10 were very easy for you. That's what I'm saying, before the prelims list came out, when you just look at these question papers like this, I came to PSC thinking that if I had good marks, PSC would be easy. But when I started studying for PSC, I realized that this thing is not what we thought. After that, I told the truth.

2:24 I said, "No need for this, I can put this here. This is not something that needs to be done." I kept saying that even though I went for PSC coaching, I didn't go to one of the best institutions. I can say that if you want, about ten teachers would come in and change it just to take a subject. That's how it was. There were no such good teasers. And that was the only center available to me there . So I just went there and studied. After that, I said that I started studying when the prelims system came into being . That is, I had a feeling that I wanted to study, but then I realized that it was no longer right to go on like this, and that's when I started studying. I have helped a lot with my friends, so how should I study? They used to motivate me to study, study, study. That's how I started studying on my own.

3:10 At first, I wasn't that interested, but later I didn't. That's when this prelim system came along and I started studying on my own. I think I've already said all these things in the videos. I'm not going to stop you by saying, "Let's finish quickly." That's how it is. When I started studying on my own, when I said, " The thing is, when I started studying on my own, we don't know how to study, what we get when we study, we learn it ourselves. We understand which method is easier for us when we study or how long it takes us to study a topic. Like this, when we study a topic once, everyone has to remember it, right? If I'm like that, there's no need for people to think about it. If I study something once, it won't stick in my head. If I repeat it again and again and again, something will stick in my head or I can't remember it. I'm not

3:55 someone who remembers it in my head by the time I read it the last time. I repeat it again and again, covering every topic. So, if I have to talk about coaching, now I can't study if I go to coaching. There are people who like to sit at home and study hard and in their own way and get a good rank. But not everyone has the ability to study alone, right? I'm just saying that people like that should go to PSC coaching. I'm just saying that because there are many good centers and platforms available now, whether online or offline. Even if we can't go and study now, there are good coaching centers online . So, if we say that we need to create a base, we cannot do it alone, if we are those who do not know how to start studying, then if we have an online coaching or near your home or a good center, always keep one thing in mind, whether it is online or offline, go to a good place and try to create a base or we can

4:41 go to a good place and join. Similarly, we cannot always remember the years. Sometimes we get confused every year. So, if we say what I was doing, now we know that there are some things that are repeated in the same year. Now, there are some incidents that happened in 1956, and there are some incidents that happened in 1961. So, I would take a book and write down such incidents. I think it would be a little easier to remember that. I always write down the incidents that happened in each year. There will be confusing facts, right? Everyone will have different topics and different contents. Confusion. What do I do? I used to make small sticky notes. I used to stick them on my wall because we always write on small slips and

5:26 paste them in the places where we get attention. Or like this, in books, I get confused or I get confused. These are the notes that I have prepared a while ago. So when we take it out from time to time, it is a little easier for us. We can revise this book like this. If we have a book in our hands, when we revise from time to time, it will automatically get stuck in our mind. Then we don't have to put in a lot of effort. It is always good to make a note like this, especially for beginners. I always bring this book with me when I go for an exam. Like last time revision, the book is also a book that I always keep in my hand when I go for an exam. And I have all this on my own. These are some notes I made when I started studying. So what I want to say is that the notes are the same for each topic. When I first started studying alone, I used to study the same classes for each topic. We

6:12 got Mansoor Ali sir's classes for free at Un Academy. After watching those classes, you will see the notes I made for each topic. Didn't you see that I studied on my own from the very basics? Soils, vitamins, diseases, pathogens, etc. You will hear the same classes for various topics like the Right to Information Act. Notes will be prepared. That's how I learned when I was sitting at home studying . We know there are many sources. We can get classes and things from great people right on YouTube. Now, for those who do n't like to read and learn, but prefer to learn by listening, there are many ways to study by preparing notes, listening to class, and so on. We don't get to study with my hands. If we think it's not going to happen to us, we're just sitting there. So, in our own way, there are some good Telegram channels that are included as bots, and we can do polls and

6:58 learn from them if we want. Or, like I said, there are some classes that are free, even though they are free. So, we don't have to pay for it or study online, there are classes that are available for free. Similarly, as I mentioned earlier, you can find great classes on YouTube as you like. So, don't think that after hearing all that, we can just listen to it in our own way and just sit there and listen. If we make a note in our own way, write it down, and study, it will always be better, even a little bit. It's also something that helps us a lot when we're revising later. And similarly, as I said in the previous videos, we should have a clear understanding of the syllabus . Because we need to have a good understanding of which part the PSC uni asks more questions from, how is the current PSC trend, from which part the

7:44 questions come more, whether the PSC question paper should be prepared by following the syllabus pattern from the current syllabus. Similarly, what I did initially was to collect text books from the children from classes 5 to 10, look at them, underline them, and prepare notes accordingly . So, even though everyone is publishing books on SCRT Books, it doesn't mean that everyone has the ability to buy them. You must have already bought some books and invested some money in them . So, I'm not saying that you can only study by buying those books. I told those who wanted to buy it that Lakshyare books are very good books. Assuming that's not the case anymore, it would be good if you collected the textbook and studied it . And Max

8:30 Max was a topper. About Max, I will tell you that I got the marks and helped me get the marks in a good way because of the methods I followed exactly. Similarly, Max sat down and studied each topic as a vice and did it. It is only after I studied it that I

9:18 reached a comfort zone in Maths. These are the question papers that I have done many times. Every time we improve ourselves, we gain confidence. It is a very good thing when we see our marks. We always do question papers and sit and study. Now, even though we are studying Maths, our Jerin sir's YouTube channels, which are called "Drink Guru", are very famous. Sir, he has been telling us all about it in great detail. And in the meantime, one thing that I forgot to tell you is that a few days ago in Sailam, I had taken a subscription for LDC, but as I said earlier, As mentioned in the videos, I couldn't follow them correctly. Those were good classes. Even though Jan Sir's Max class was okay, they were really good classes. Similarly, people say that Lakshya's classes are good. If you are looking for online coaching, you should listen to them and say that Lakshya's classes are

10:03 really cool classes. And then, current affairs is also a very important thing . Current affairs have so much importance, you hear. The reason I'm bringing it up to you is because this current affair is the reason why I passed the Company Board LGS exam, an exam for which I had prepared very well. Because current affairs are so important . Now, if you say it's for 20 marks, the PSC is asking for 20 marks . So, at most, you can get a book for that and get classes as you wish, or we can get them in PDF format, Telegram channels, or even bots to do poly. So, after doing all that, try to set up the current affairs as much as possible. These are my previous current affairs books that I have written about a few years ago . You can tell by looking at the year that it's 2020 or 2021. In other words, these are all the current affairs books I had when I was studying at that time, so there's no point in

10:48 making a book like this and just writing a few more like this . We must find the time to study it and study it clearly. So I'm just making a short video about my study methods and my experiences . I believe this will be useful to someone. Then we'll see it in another video. Bye.
