47 We're also up in 2026. Paul, remind us of your best bets profit figures and just tell us how it's been going in the T20 World Cup first week. >> Yes. So this year 2026 29.9 up. It was plus 40 I think for 2025. Um first week profitable, not hugely profitable, mixed to be honest. Um good on the sixes. Um but the disappointment to me has been on the runs markets because they're coming in a bit lower than expected. Um and I'm having a bit of a rethink on that to be honest with you. um thinking of South Africa today against a um Canada and England yesterday against Nepal. I just thought they were batting a bit tentatively. They weren't really going
33 for the big big score you might see in IPL. So I think we probably will get some huge scores, one or two somewhere, but I don't think it's going to be quite like the IPL. >> Uh Richard man, how you doing? And best bets profits please for 2026. a reminder. >> Good evening. I'd get a up 1760 for 2026 so far. Um, I've enjoyed it so far. I mean, the associates have made it great fun, haven't they? They've not quite pulled off that big shot with their efforts probably deserved, but it's been great watching a tough beat of Brad Evans today though for VIP subscribers. DM me lost by two runs on economy at 401. But, but we move on. Interesting what Paul said. I feel like the runners lines have just been too high for the big teams. Um
20 they've just been insanely high. Um and we haven't I do think we will get a big bang soon. Um but it is very strange looking at par lines of sort of 230. It's hard to get your head around. It really is. Uh yeah, a bit of stat work on crick info actually about the downward trend in in world cups actually for runs. the the franchise relationship with runners, it doesn't translate to uh T20 World Cups to go and have a have a look at that. I think Paul's probably right to recognize uh the trend early doors. Uh Brad Evans, as as Rich has just mentioned, nasty one for the VIP took three for 18. That's not good enough to
06 win you a top bowl, I bet these days. Three for 16, won it for Muzraani. Three for 17 ain't good enough either. poor Richard's Navara backers also um lost. So um potential um derivative market player props markets for some of these uh big win rates that we'll be talking about on this show. What is on this show? We've got South Africa versus Afghanistan, Australia versus Ireland, England versus West Indies. She's got the best bets to those games, teams, pitch reports, strategies, player win rates, as I've said, and we are getting nice winners on VIP. Uh the Dutch, we were on their handy trade against Pakistan. Uh Super Sunday with three out of four winning. We are returning 80%
51 ROI. If you want to get subbed out to that VIP channel, do so in the comments below. We're going to start with talking the outright. And a big factor and it's sort of breaking news I suppose is that Pakistan are going to play India. The boycott has been chucked out. They've all got round the table and decided they do want to play after all. How sweet. Uh so the super ape groups very much projected uh is still on in group one. India, Australia, West Indies, South Africa and then group two England, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka. It doesn't matter where those seeded teams finish in their respective first group phases. Those are the super eight groups. That's how they'll be set up. Um Paul, good,
38 bad, and different news will say that England that they're that Pakistan look like they're going to make it now or they certainly have the opportunity to win a match against India. Well, it doesn't make a huge difference for my to my mind because okay, they're slightly likely to qualify now. Um, and that I guess is a slight negative for England. Um, but we were expecting them probably to qualify anyway and they could still lose to Mino. Indeed, they're playing America tomorrow. That could well be an upset. Um I think the bigger difference to be honest with you is what the effect on tops markets for the series because India now get their extra match and that
24 was the one negative for backing an Indian player in the top bowler batsman market but not anymore. >> That's right Abishek Sharma we are on the top tournament bat and he could do with a flipping extra game as well after a duck against America. Goodness me. Uh T20 outright cy bet right then. 5 to4 India fives Australia, South Africa, England being pushed out a little bit 11-2 after Nepal gave them an almighty scare 9 to1 New Zealand who extremely impressed as we'll talk about them 12 to1 Pakistan Sri Lanka 25s alongside West Indies the same Afghanistan 66 is 500 to one bar uh rich what you thinking or is it too early to
09 think anything >> don't panic Don't panic. You know, you look on social media and there's so much reaction to some of these iffy performances from the test test playing nations, but it's such such early doors and your tournaments aren't won in this first week, are they? They may well be lost. Um, but the the the big teams did did win those games. Um, but you don't win it here. Poor performance. No one's remembering that once you get to the final semiinal. So I I'm for instance if I if I had backed India I wouldn't be panicking at all. It's you know they they're going to get through and they're going to get better and better. I think a lot of the sides it just has a look that they just sort of feeling their way into it at the moment. I think we've seen with the batting I thought West Indies was a really good example against Scotland. They kind of knew if they got
54 180 190 they were going to win and the opening pair just made sure that they got them into a solid enough position and that was it. But you feel like if they felt they needed to get 240, they would have at least had a go. So I won't be panicking, you know, I'm pretty sweet on South Africa. Not discouraged by the performance against Canada. It wasn't A1, but they'll just get better, I'm sure. India 8 to 11 for the final with B right. Uh England 2 to1. They were a 5-2 headline tip on VIP to do. So Kiwi's at four, South Africa 11 to4 um Thoughtsport I mean India we talk about you know those short prices what if they have a bad day at the office in a key game they maybe just had
41 their bad day at the office hadn't they were you know it was absolutely appalling performance against the Americans >> yeah and America played very well as well um I think 8 to 11 there is an absolutely outstanding bet you I it's a maximum bet to be perfectly honest with you because okay you are taking a risk they might not qualify that that is a risk right but I think they will and if they do what are they going to be in that semi-final I mean worst ways they play England they're not a against England they're probably one point one to two maybe maybe a bit less they could play Sri Lanka be one to six could play um New Zealand and be 2 to 7 So, um, no, I'd say take that 8 to11 all
29 day long. >> Uh, Rich, we said in the previous show shows there will be blood in terms of giant kidding, but we would we weren't talking about bloody noses. We want endrails and gore, don't we? Three big chances gone down. Ireland against uh Sri Lanka, massive chance considering their drop catches. They shouldn't have made more than 130. That's the best chance of an upset gone. Yeah, sadly I think it has. Um, we should have had three in the first weekend and then yeah, you've mentioned Ireland if they' have caught that. That that would have been another one. The Netherland Netherlands should had Pakistan bait. They had them dead and buried. Get this 690 in running on the bet fake exchange with the Netherlands. Uh, went as short as 1.2 only for
14 pennies, but nevertheless, I mean, good grief. Max Odow, I don't want to pick him out, but he catches that. They've won. But you just feel now that the better teams will get better and better as you say, feel the way into it. Um, and yeah, it's going to be tough. I don't want to have to time and Paul's mentioning, but this podcast might be going live sort of Tuesday morning, Tuesday lunchtime, uh, USA play Pakistan Tuesday afternoon. I think we're I think we're all in agreement that could be the last potential big banana skin. So, um, just in case people accuse us of after timing, we've said it here and now. Uh, Paul, I mean, I've got a few listed on my fixture list with um, you know, circled, but giant killings. Well,
00 >> I still think I still think it will happen. Um, I think as we go on, they've grown in confidence that clearly the early evidence shows the associates are closing fast. Um, the longer we go on, I think inhibitions will be lost and we'll see it somewhere. I mean the most likely one isn't the biggest upset in the world apart from the America games tomorrow which I fancy personally um but is Nepal to beat the West Indies. I think that's very reasonable as they beat him in a series earlier this year. Um I think Namibia are capable of beating Pakistan. Don't think that's impossible. And I don't think the UAE are too bad to be honest with you. I think they could beat New Zealand. They could
45 beat New Zealand. It's possible. again would they if it was to be Afghanistan as that's such an upset but I think they could and even we'll get to in a minute but Ireland against Australia stranger things have happened 15 India versus Pakistan maybe that is the upset and the caveat is that they may well may well have already happened by the time he listens to this I've got Namibia versus Pakistan the SSC potentially and Paul's just mentioned Sri Lanka versus Zimbabwe um you never know um we'll keep our eyes on it. Um, more offers for you. VIP channel, you can sub up in the comments section below. And not only will you get um, tips to your device and access the VIP chat room, we're only giving you 50% off as well with the code ashes 25, you

Um, you can get subbed up to that in the comments section below. Let's get the games on. These are where the best bets are coming from. It's South Africa versus Afghanistan 0530. I made a bad two to five. South Africa generally Afghanistan 23-10. Hills possible 11s for you. Mark Deck opening a batting for Safas, Rickleton, Brevis, Miller Stubs Yansen Bosch Rabada Maharaj Giddy Afghanistan Gerbaz Zadran, Nib, Atal, Rasuli, or Mozai,
16 Nabi, Rashid, Majib, Farooqi, and I think Zahir, Rahman comes out after he went for 11 and0 is the Kiwis and Nor Ahmed potentially coming in. Paul South Africa underway. Very strong against Canada. You like them first up in the previous shows. Presumably you still like them. >> Absolutely. Um I don't think we learned a lot today. Mismatch really. Um they performed solidly enough. I don't think they really pushed the boat out. Could have scored more runs if they had really gone for it. Um I don't really see a weakness in them to be honest with you. I mean and only India look superior. One little point with them as well. They have the best draw in the competition for grounds. If you talk about
03 highscoring grounds, all seven of their group games up to the semi would be on highscoring grounds. >> Interesting. I wonder if that's what happens when they get on a dung heap. Uh keep that in mind. Maybe a little bit undercooked if they do. Um sorry, I've just don't mean to run the South African South African parade there. Uh uh Richard um I think New Zealand probably produced the performance of the tournament so far against Afghanistan and Chennai. Um Afghanistan in a little bit of trouble here on a road. >> Yeah, you would say so. It's probably the worst condition. I mean this this ground generally as Paul would would say is one of the better grounds in the IPL for runs and it really would suit South
49 Africa whereas you think Afghanistan want a little bit of spin. But I did think Afghanistan performed well against New Zealand. He said New Zealand were really good. I mean the Philips C for partnership was absolutely top class. Um but you just feel that South Africa it's just that top six. You just feel that they've got 200 210 220 in them pretty regularly and you don't feel that Afghanistan have got the muscle to go with them. If he's a 160 plays 160 game fine but it's just such a strong top six. Well, top seven and eight really when you put Bosch and Gansson in there as well. >> A reminder, Afghanistan the ultimate onedimensional team. Number one ranked bowling on economy, but on economy, but as Richard says, where's the batting power? They're bottom ranked on strike
35 rate in all matches since the end of the last World Cup. Uh Paul, you know this ground, we've done a ground guide. Rich has just said it. 160 plays 160 there in the game. Do they get that surface here? Yeah, I think they do. But they they get a good a good service. It's been really reliable. Armed bad in the um IPL. Um over half the scores last two years have been 200 plus in the first innings. Interesting point as well is you don't get a lot of spin on this ground which is a massive negative for Afghanistan. I mean know this is Rashid Khan's home ground in the IPL and you saw last season he was really ineffective, wasn't he? Expensive for once. So it's for me it's very hard to make a case for them. I think you'll get a high scoring match.
22 It's quite interesting for me actually that um bare have put the um first innings runs up. They've got Afghanistan 164.5. That's very low for me given the stats at um at um our med recently and also both teams score 180 11 to4 that would definitely have paid in recent years. Uh Rich, what happens in the match? >> Well, I think South Africa win. Um interesting Paul just said I just thought even both teams to score 170 with a flutter of firms 7 to five. I didn't think that was horrendous at all really. I think you'll get far worse 7 to5 shots because I think Afghanistan on the surface like this have got enough to comfortably get to 170 and obviously South Africa. I thought that was pretty
08 solid uh solid play really. Anything else Paul in terms of match odds or you know match odds movements? >> No not really. The one little nugget I quite like was 8 to1 11 South Africa highest open opening partnership. I think they should be strong favorites there. Really good pair there to [ __ ] and mark. >> All righty. Uh happy to move to players to follow. >> Okay. All righty. Uh Bosch Fishbash Bosch uh clipped slightly on win rate down to 47% on top South Africa bowler. That's a very healthy study sample of 17 games 4 to1 bet Fred Quinn bet power. Robarda is now zero wins from nine on top bowler. I mean I do like a law of averages wager.
56 I mean Robata is not a not go zero for much longer. Sure. Um Quincy the [ __ ] with the bat four wins in 1100 to30 boil sky but I've just got an asterics by his name on top match bat as well um at some stage and uh particularly against weaker batting teams which Afghanistan of course are. Zadran for the Afghans with the bat wins 33% of the time 29 to 10 hills. Rashid wins 36% of the time 29 to 10 hills. both coming in after a blank. Does that bring them closer to the wind zone? I think it does. Paul players to follow for you. >> Well, I just want to say um again the evidence here from the IPL is to back the top order. You know, think Gujarat
44 and think that market is completely dominated by Sugillard Arson and Jos Butler. And you look at South Africa. I mean the problem for me is I don't really want to pick one of their top three against the others. They're all strong. Um and they could all do it. So, I'm just going to say over 22.5 runs for Aiden Mark, who is in cracking form, beaten his five of his last seven starts, 16 out of 28 in the long term on a good ground. And those stats come when he's batted at all sorts of positions down to five whereas he's opening now. >> On a on a flat one, we often say on this podcast, milestone betting takes all the others out of the equation. Not a bad option. uh Mark from Rickleton Deco maybe for 50s maybe back all three he
29 might not be on a loser Richard man >> right well yeah I've been jumping on the same thing right the cock's played performance with bet 365 is down at 31.5 been in redhot form since he's come back into the international picture um and obviously his keeping took two catches against Canada he didn't even bat that well uncomfortably went past that line the line is 38.5 5 with the flutter firms. So there is is their way out. Bet 365 bet 365 also 2.5 decock fours overs 10 to 11. Again I quite like the look of that if you wanted to play short. So as you can see I'm a decock fan um here and and and as Ed said Zad ran for me um for lots of reasons but if you look back as
16 well at these ICC events he seems to make runs against the best teams. He made 100 against Australia the last 50 over World Cup. I think that was a Glenn Maxwell game and then 100 against England in the last Champions trophy. And I'm definitely listing England as a as a top tier side given that we've backed them for this one. >> Right, we're underway. Best bets at the end of the show. That's South Africa Afghanistan done. A reminder, sub up to that VIP service which is returning 8% on ROI and get 50% off subscription using the code ashes 25 comments section below for the all the details. I mean really you would be absolutely bonkers to be missing out on that offer. We are working all hours for you bets to your device pretos in play. Um do sign up to
02 that bet right offer. Please if you do so you support the podcast to keep coming back and be giving you those free best bets which are returning whopping profits. Let's get our second game on. Australia versus Ireland 0930 Wednesday 6 to1 on Australia uh with Betright Ireland 7s. We weren't talking about this game in terms of potential upset. Well, let's do some detail on it now. Then a possible 11s head Marsh green English David Stois Maxwell Connley Ellis Hazlewood and Zampel the Irish lining up Sterling with Rosadair Tea Tucker Camp for Kallet Delaney Dock Maradella Maradair McCarthy and Humphre
51 Rich not keen on Australia are we? No, because I think at this ground we'd all agree we're going to get spinning conditions and they've just been thumped 3-0 by Pakistan in spinning conditions in Pakistan. Um, and let's be right that Netherlands game didn't exactly give Pakistan a form boost. Big question question marks against Australia's ability to play spin and then how they'll cope with the big three paces. So, it looks pretty grim for them actually. I know we've said that before they gone our faces, but um they definitely look a team to oppose. Whether Ireland are good enough to take them down is another question though. >> Probably an asterisk by Hazlewood as well at this stage, isn't it? Rich might come back in later. Maxwell was it or David wasn't it? But might not be ready. >> They've had so many like in injury
37 issues. I mean they have been unlucky on that front. Um bowl in particular looks very inexperienced. I suppose the one thing you would say is if they're going to get spinning conditions here, you know the ones that they want Zampers here. So, um, and obviously they'll get overs of Maxwell against the lefties Connelly. So, they do probably have spin covered, but nevertheless, the big guns aren't there. All right. Uh, Mitch Owen certainly want to come in potentially for Tim David if he hasn't overcome that hamstring injury. Uh, and with the ball, uh, Dwars Bartlett for Hazelwood if he's not ready as well. Um poor quick lament on Ireland dropped catches. I mean there were fielding was was was poor wasn't it? Um
25 what did you see this happening in this game? >> I mean what a tragedy that was for I mean you can't overstate how bad it was. Sri Lanka were looking like they could be I mean with any way a half competent fielding they've been all out for 120 Sri Lanka um a lost counter number of catches that was dropped or boundary yeah and and sixes given away as a consequence of the catches it was just disastrous and then you had just one utterly catastrophic over from Barry McCarthy which just kept bowling um no balls um So without that they would have had a very chaseable toe and as it was they they were in the chase for a long way Ireland they just fell apart at the end.
13 Um I think the bigger lesson of that was just how poor Sri Lanka were to be honest with you. But to be fair to Ireland they did bowl very well in the slow conditions. Um all of them really with the exception of the car. Um Delaney Dock Mar they're very effective at the death. So they could give Australia a game here. I think so. I don't see why not. Yeah, they had a look at the surface. Um, and that will certainly help. Australia haven't. Uh, let's do a bit of a a ground guide. The RPS all night matches. Um, there massive bias and 20 from 26 won by the Chaser RPO 7.6. Filtered out the last five years. 10 out of 13. The chaser RPO 7.1
00 first innings 150 or more busted in only four of those uh 13. Uh Richard simple Ireland in the chase. >> Just can't trust them. I I'd be I'd be staying away from that and looking at inplay angles, runs and couple of other pointers. I just couldn't trust them. >> Well, can I get you on board with in the chase? >> Yeah. Well, I I concur before Richard. I think I'd prefer in running ankles, but let's just wait and see because if Australia bat first, right, the par line could be crazy. I mean, it was 190 near enough 185 190 for Sri Lanka, right? On a pitch where the highest first innings ever is 173 in our 5year sample. Anyway,
48 um Austral I can see Australia having a good first two overs and going like 108 or something stupid like that and at that point it might be worth having a little trade on Ireland. I'm not ruling them out but I think the better angle is probably to do runs or something like that in running. >> That's my next question. an angle on the ground. Sixes we've been doing nicely on on VIP. Total match runs potential here with bookmakers obviously having to try to pitch it with the toss because it's a is a different quote if Ireland bat first as opposed to Australia batting first. >> Absolutely. Well, I mean the run line is 311.5. that has in my sample which is only 220 internationals five years that unders
34 has won 12 out of 13 times at 311.5 usually by a long way but even better is sixes so bet fair have sixes at 13.5 that has won 13 out of 13 in T20 nationals the highest was 12 and nine of the 13 produced eight or fewer sixes on this ground and you saw this the other day you know even with all these disasters there were still only four sixes in in the match. Um, as I say, also think Aussie runs is bound to be really high. They bat first and I say the highest score in those 13 games in the first team was 173. >> Uh, a nugget from Richard Man, please. >> Yeah. Well, just all on the same lines. I mean, historically in Sri Lanka, it's
20 always been great playing under just after one partnership as well. I mean, if Travis headed gets away against a new ball, Pathana sprays it about a I mean the line lift you up even further. So that's when you I quite like no 50 in the match at 9 to2 that bet 365 a stand out 9-2 7-2 elsewhere. Um I mean if I bat first that is going to be very hard to the 50 is going to be very hard to land anyway but I'd happy taking on the Aussies in spinning conditions. Highest individual match score with seven bet is 63.5. I think that's quite high as well. Um and obviously Paul's mentioned sixes, loads of unders ways to play here. >> Uh player win rates then now and we've
06 got um price boost cursive bet right for next game which is England uh for this game. Sorry, which we'll talk about in in a second. The Irish numbers are texture at 29% top. He has just one though. Betright have boosted Sterling, Paul Sterling to 3 to one. Uh he's won two of the last 15. Matt Humphre is 92 with Hills for top Ireland bowler. Humphre is a slow left arm bowler. If you just think back to what Muhammad Noah is the same style of bowler did to Australia preournament to consider whether that is value richer players. >> Well I think Irish players only sorry >> sorry Irish players. Well I think I think Tector and Tucker and those are the class players aren't they at three
52 and four and take your pick. I mean, Tucker is a really good player as Spinner. I think Tector finally admitting is the better player. Um, I've had this argument many times on Twitter, but Tucker does play Spin well. Um, so take your pick there. They both played really well, didn't they, in that case, but obviously once once they got out, it fell away. They're the class class acts in this Irish lineup. I'd split with those and Dockwell, you know, bowled well. He hasn't done a lot of bowling recently, but he bowed really well against Sri Lanka. And again, he's another left arm a similar style to No, so he could he's another one to consider alongside Humphre. >> Paul, anything on Ireland players? >> Yeah, I've got two player performance bets I really like. First of all, um you get 11 to 10 mark over 20.5 with Bet
40 Fair. Now, I know that this sample is not necessarily representative because Ireland would have played lesser teams in Australia, but it's won 25 out of 30 matches. Um, we know Adair can bat. You know, I wouldn't I could back him at 60 to1 top island batsman to be honest with you. He's no mug, right? And there's every chance he's going to get a bat here against Australia. So, if he can get one run, we just need one wicket. And he's the death bowler and he bowled really well in these conditions the other day. So, I love that. And also, just building on what Rich said, Lucker 23.5 player performance. It's not asking a lot. is the wicket keeper, you know, and we're talking about I mean, is it out of question that he gets a stumping somewhere? Australia trying to hit it out the ground on a spinning pitch. >> Uh stumping on this ground in that game
28 against Ireland, wasn't there uh when Sri Lanka were um shrunk bowling. Um, now then we do have a fancy on top Australia bowler and this is where our tie up with betr right pays off because we will say every week to betr right do us a special price for the cricket betting podcast and they will oblige and Adam Zamper has been boosted for your ears to top Australia bowler at 7-2 it's best in the market as we record Paul Christiany why do you want that bet >> conditions Um he is damper is highly effective on a pitch that is spinning right and particularly against non-subcontinent
13 sides. Ireland are very weak against spin. Um and also remember that with Zamper's longerterm stats they're usually involving Australian sides that involve Hazelwoods maybe Cummins etc. you know, other BS and here he's in a pretty weak Australia bowling lineup in ideal conditions. So, I think that that's a really solid solid bet of the week really at 7 to1. >> Uh 7-2. Yeah, he's tuned up as well, Zamper. I've spoken about him before as does like to come in warm so to speak. He's someone um who takes his time to find his rhythm and what have you. And I think he's done that in that series against Pakistan. He's not he's not
59 coming in cold. Uh bet right also boosted. Travis head to three to one. Top Australia bat. Green has five wins from 12. You can get 9 to2 generally. Um Mitch Marsh five wins from 18 16 to five with power. Marcus Stein is a ridiculous 16 to1 with Hill. I don't know what hills are on. Um don't think I want any of it. Richard man. >> Yeah. Well well Steinus kicked off our month, didn't he? with a with a big winner on VIP in that Pakistan series. He only played one game. The obviously the the issue here is where is he going to bat with all the big guns back. But I think even if it's down at number six, I think you just pay your money and take your chance at 16. It's far too big. Um
44 and look, you know, the way they've been batting, it might not matter anyway. He might well get enough time to make the 30 or 40 that's needed to win the market. He's a a must bet. Um, look, Zamper looks a cracking bet, doesn't he? Especially with a with a boost with Bet, right? I more of a pointer actually about Zamper loaded with righthanders as well, the island batting lineup. So, that helps. But, um, this track has played really low and slow. I suspect LBW next method dismissal when Zamper's on is a big player here. That might be something to keep an eye on. Obviously, you have to see what what the price is. But, um, yeah, I can see him just wrapping those island pads all day long. Um might have a look at um Rosadair potentially to be stumped if Zamp is on
31 with him. Just one to look out for in play. We do like a stumping in play, don't we, Rich? Um >> remember, sign up to Betright. Please support the cricket betting podcast to keep coming back with these incredible best bets. They do come at the end of the show. Uh now it's time for England versus West Indies. It's also on Wednesday 13:30. Banketti Stadium bet right prizes two to five England windies 4725 Salt Butler Bethl Bon Brook Curran jacks Archer Dawson Rashid I wonder if Overton comes back in for Luke Wood who did not cover himself in glory against Nepal I know he took a wicket off his last ball but uh few wives in there and didn't quite close it out the way England would have wanted West Indies hope king Hetmier Pal ratherford
18 Shepherd Ford holder Akil Moti Joseph, Ford, Holder, Akil, Moti could all well bat as high as four. Uh, nightmare trying to predict that West Indies batting lineup. Where to start? Um, Richard, I'm appointing you England correspondent. Uh, they were Nepaling against Nepal. >> Lovely stuff. Look, the one didn't. That's that's all they had to do. Um, but good grief, it was a bare knuckle ride. Um I suppose a big concern was that Rashid when Rashid got taken out by an opposition party lineup England really looked Fredbear didn't there because Wood got exposed but Sam Curran put his hand up and look they won the game. I
04 did think there was some encouraging signs of [ __ ] batting a thought Brooke played really well. Jax down the order they're going to need him. That was a brilliant late cameo from Jax. I mean without his late assault they don't win anyway. Um, so plenty of positive signs and I think they'll come on for the run England. Look, they came into it in good form. Really good series win in Sri Lanka. Conditions vastly different at the Wani as well. So they've had had a game to acclimatize now. I'm expecting much better from them here. Um, as I do from the West Indies as well. I think we'll get a good game. >> Paul, you've already been our West Indies correspondent for ages. Would he make him against the Scots? Well, I thought they were going to lose until Roario Shepard came good at the death. Um, on the plus side, Shimon
52 Hetmire's playing in the form of his life. Rich, a lovely bet on him to be to top tournament sixes hitter 40 to1. I think we got a chance there. And I'm not convinced by West Indies any more than I ever am. But I do think they're a bit of value here at 3.1 to be honest with you. I think um they could benefit from the toss on this ground which I'll discuss in a bit but also I think they're suited to the rank day because it's all about hitting sixes the death middle order late order they've got all that in spades and England's bowling's very unconvincing um and you don't spinners don't tend to do very well at the rank day which says a lot not surprising that Rashid struggled in the first game and that could be the same here if we're going in
38 with three spinners then I think Wendy's could take us on could really take us apart. So I definitely we're back there at 47 to 25. >> Uh Rich views on that upset. I think in play I mean I mean I suspecting that we get anything batting second maybe here. Um do you agree or do you think West Indies have to be chasing? >> I think it's more of you you probably wouldn't fancy West Indies defending. I think that's probably more the point. But I do agree with Paul's wider point. I think this is the perfect ground for them. It's tiny and it really suits their their team of pitters basically. Um this is a ground that they could take down. I'm a bit more positive about West Indies throughout this tournament. I
24 have to be honest with 50s and 60s last week outright. I didn't think it was the worst worst bet in the world. And and I quite like the way their their fixture shape up. Paul's talked about South Africa getting a good run of games on good batting surfaces, but so do these as well. So, um I'm a bit more positive about them and than some and I can definitely see an upset here or at least a good competitive game. >> All right, let's talk about the Mumbai ground guide. Normally runs 9.29 runs per over in T20 international night matches. No toss by looking at the IPL. 10 of 17 night matches from last three years won by the Chase RPO 9.3. So runs does hold. What you got Paul on the
10 ground? >> Well, it's actually quite inconsistent. Um so go let's talk about the India America game first. I thought that was very much like some of the pitches we saw last season in the IPL where in the first innings it was just sticking a bit. It was just holding a bit in the pitch and thighs were losing early wickets and not posting decent enough totals. Then the due would come in and the chase was absolutely fasile. Now we didn't get any due. These matches are a couple of hours earlier than the IPL. So maybe the the chasing advantage is less but I do think there is a potential chasing advantage there. Um the other historic big angle here is this late scoring because of the small boundaries and you may remember we
56 in previous IPL we followed this system of betting after the um strategic timeout or last 10 overs expecting to get 11 12 and over and it was very reliable. Well that failed miserably in both matches so far. um England and India. Um so I'm scrapping that but I would still note that they did score very well in the last three or four overs. So perhaps that's the way be a bit wary watch the pitch but as long as there's some wickets in hand especially West Indies with those with that middle order and those that tail extreme overs for the last four or five. >> Right. Any other business Rich on this game before we look at the >> Yeah, I do want to build on that. really interesting comments from Sky after the
42 uh India USA game had sympathy with the curor said the weather's been unsettled in Mumbai and have not been able to water the pitch and then get good sunlight on it to then dry it out make a really good hard surface then they played the ne then England played on the same wicket the next day day and it spun for Nepal's wrist spinners Lamachani both really well they all did um I don't believe this will be a used pitch I think this will be a new fresh one Now, I've been looking at the weather and just acute weather, but it is blazing sunshine all week. So, you'd think the curator would have had a better chance to to produce a better strip. Get some water on it, roll it, let it dry out, make a real good hard traditional wanky surface. So, with that in mind,
28 I am of we will get a better batting pitch and it that would follow the trend of the IPL last year where it did get better as as the season went on. I think runs both teams to score 199 to two with the flutter of firms looks fair enough to me. Uh and I like individual players in the sixes market. Hemier over 1.5 sixes. Bet 365 have cut that from 7 to four to five to six, but I still don't think it's the worst bet in the world on this ground. Uh and while we're on that subject, Hecmier most sixes for the West Indies is six to one. I can't believe he's not favorite. >> Wow. I like all them, Rich. All them. Um and the both teams to score really interesting cuz I was looking at that both teams to score 180 23-10 both score 29 to1 and yet the first in his run line
16 with bet 365 is 184.5 so the one's got to be wrong in my book and I think you're right if if we've had a if it's blazing sunshine hopefully we'll get a better pitch now >> right let's look at player win rates for England West Indies we'll start with the English salt wins 33% of the time top bat 18 to5 Unibet Butler very interesting now win rate down to 26% so after first time well first time in a long long time um the 3 to one is no good because that's 25% implied probability uh Rashid I will be looking at performances in two wickets on more markets potentially I'm not sure he has um as big a struggle
03 again West Indies is hope is I think he's in the win zone 27% 16 to5 with Hills Pal is in the win zone 21% win rate these data is all last matches since the end of the world last World Cup 13-2 unibet 10 bet and flutter firms and AK bets sheepard won last time of course he did we've been banging on about him for absolutely yonks 33% win rate 92 unibet and the flutter firms to do so again. Rich players, >> well, I am keen on Hetmire and those markets, but I do think this is a good ground from middle order flourishes. Uh Brooke, he's playing really well, so he'd probably be the one
49 the hunch from England and I agree on on numbers. I think made a really good pace for Rob case for Rothman Powell and I think this is the ideal ground for him coming in at sort of four or five and exploding at the death. Paul, uh, what do we do about Butler? Or you don't have to talk about Butler because I mean, we've he's now below the win rate line for us, although he is in the win zone, but he is going up against now somebody in Salt who's who's outperforming him now in this market consistently. >> No, I I think we just wait. Um I will be happy to back Butler again when we play the lesser teams when there's a chance we'll be chasing the very low total and it's a big advantage for the openers but on this particular ground as Rich said
35 this is the wanky day is a place for middle order batsman not a place for the openers really I'd be much more interested in Harry Brookke or Shane Rmerford or Robman Pow because they could just do anything at the death really uh and just one finally one player performance similar thoughts in mind Matthew board over 24.5 every chance he's going to get a bat and be batting at the right time to score as well as and then you only need one wicket.
